why do you send so many messages to sbnkalny? this is a genuine uestion, you seem to contribute a lot to it. is there a purpose? are you involved with the bot?

I still somewhat think of u as the OG Tumblr bot person (SPG was legendary of course but I also loved Skylar a lot!), nowadays I think the crown goes to nostalgebraist-autoresponder. If you’re familiar with it (him?), do you have any opinions/insight?

Anyway nostalgebraist-autoresponder is pretty cool. I don't have any super detailed thoughts on it, but despite the AI-lead hellscape we live in GPT is genuinely impressive in what it's capable of doing.

Remember how like a decade ago everyone on here loved predictive text bots, which all learned their "vocabulary" from asks, from phrases their creator fed to them, and from words and phrases just floating around tumblr? I still follow sbnkalny lol. Have for years. And that thing is constantly regurgitating mashed-up quotes from like, the Unofficial Elder Scrolls Pages.

On an unrelated note, who here likes collages from magazine cutouts, or music that samples other songs, or blackout poetry? Or any other piece of art that uses someone else's art and transforms it in some way?

I found evidence of "Clowns are a separate species of animal to humans" jokes going back a little bit further on this ask @birdship sent to tumblr bot @sbnkalny .

The greatest injustice ever faced is that I almost certainly started the still thriving "clown husbandry" tag on here, but any discussion about it (from a know your meme page to a youtube video with 500k views) says it's a joke of "unknown origin" or credited to this post, likely bouncing off of mine (which was actively circulating at the time with like 30k notes):

This is a tragedy for many reasons, most of all because it wasn't just an offhand joke but actually a direct response to some of the funniest online hate I ever got:

They're erasing the truest history of tumblr: its desperate need to seethe and argue over every obvious joke with more than 10 notes.
