@lift_by_f8th - Good morning with a Squat for a warm up. The Good Morning is a hip hinge exercise - the movement comes from hinging your hips, or bending at your waist. Good mornings primarily strengthens muscles on the backside of our body; the posterior chain. Your glutes (butt muscles) hamstrings (backs of your thighs) should drive the movement. Good Mornings are also great because of the way it challenges your back. Even though your back is only supporting a barbell, it's incredibly demanding on your entire back and core. To squat well, our posterior chain must be strong. Good mornings help teach bar placement and keeping a tight upper-back with good posterior hip movement. The knees unlock and the hips travel back there's no butt drop like a squat. You'll see as i transition from a Good Morning to a Squat.
