Just found out that the dietary calorie is still measured by burning food in a "bomb calorimeter" and then measuring the heat produced. There's no solid evidence that this method is at all equivalent to how our bodies process food (an entirely different chemical process from combustion), the accuracy of this system has been disputed for as long as it's existed, and there are no available alternatives
There are 4800 calories in a kilogram of dry sawdust even though wood is completely indigestible to humans, because calories don't measure nutritional value, just how well something burns

I rubbed my sore shoulders and checked the system window that popped up.

I told my goodbyes to the workers I became closer with and headed to the warehouse in the corner. As I went in and closed the door, I heard Kyle’s voice from a distance.
“You’re late.”
I smiled at his voice looking for me as the white light enveloped my body.

To live an hour like a day was tiring. I sighed on top of the sawdust.
I didn’t know how long I slept since I used ‘Summon’, but when I opened my eyes, Kyle was tearing pieces of duck baeksuk into my food bowl.
―Squeak. (What are you doing.)
“Sorry for waking you up. But this is good timing. Eat while it’s still warm.”
Kyle placed the bowl in front of me. I looked at the disheveled appearance of the baeksuk I made.
‘Hmm. It cooked well.’
Baeksuk should be boiled for a long time to be delicious.
I held the meat that Kyle shredded with both hands and took a bite.
The soft flesh with a greasy texture melted in my mouth. I think this tasted better than a regular duck. I wonder if it was because it had more exercise as a demonic beast?

i love the idea that vampires just Do Not emote and with that it makes sense that they wouldn’t be able to cry as an emotional response. i also assume that a vampire’s eyes don’t care about being dry, so they wouldn’t water (bleed) if they forgot to blink or whatever, so that’s another reason for No Crying.
on the other hand, tears also serve the practical function of clearing debris and whatnot from the eyes. if a vampire will cough up non-blood, would a vampire’s eyes leak blood (which i assume is basically the only abundant liquid available in a vampire’s system) to remove something from the eyes? how many survival or protective mechanisms and functions would a vampire keep?
honestly i might put it at the same level as sneezing. it’s something that your body just kind of does to get rid of dust or whatever. your eyes cry automatically if there’s an eyelash, you sneeze automatically if you inhale something Itchy. so. do vampires sneeze? CAN they sneeze? if a vampire inhaled sawdust or whatever, would the body automatically get rid of that by sneezing, or could a vampire force a sneeze to try to get rid of it? if yes, i would say they could theoretically cry as well. and yes i am very qualified to speculate on Biology. i took two whole classes Actually. (kidding, obviously. i was just thinking about it and had Thoughts i decided i needed to share. you’re welcome.)

My original thinking was they wouldn't cry because they can't emote... but eyes are important to a vampire, so I can see why they might maintain the ability to cry... or at least leak.
I don't think vampires would sneeze or cough because they don't need to breathe, so there is no need for their body to clear an airway.
