i'd trust someone who owns a bug with a short lifespan and treats them like a beloved pet anyway before i trusted literally anyone else
#appreciation for every moment in life like that is so beautiful#saw a video of a man taking care of his elderly orchid mantis#they only live 6 to 8 months#i cant imagine the constant pain of owning and loving bugs#god it must take so much dedication. thats how you know someone truly loves something#when they enjoy every short lived moment of it despite knowing every time just how painfully short lived that moment of love and joy will be#some people are okay
