i think sam accepts it simply because he thinks he deserves it, he thinks its his destiny and that people will naturally like dean more than him because he was always supposed to be unlovable, unlikeable, even before he knew he had demon blood in him but especially afterwards

i think we shouldve got more from sam during stanford, to see how he behaved with jess, how he felt like being the first option for once, being the one people looked at...just to lose it all again because sam winchester was never free, because he couldnt run from himself, from his destiny

later on he ends up knowing jess wouldve died anyways, dean being back or not, why? because his destiny damned him to be alone, to be lucifer's true vessel, the prince of hell. everyone around him would either end up dead or against him.

i love season 8, i think i made this very clear for everyone, because even if I MYSELF personally think sam wouldn't stop looking for dean, it isnt because of the usual reason that "dean is his brother"

sam wouldnt have stopped looking for dean because dean was the only person he truly had. sam would know that without dean he would be completely alone so, looking for him would be the first thing he'd do and he'd move mountains just so he wouldn’t feel like a mistake, just so he didnt feel so alone all the time because yeah jody was there, other hunters were there but...were they? for him?

but, canonically speaking, sam found someone that chose him. who looked at him with love because amelia didnt know his past, didnt know he was addicted to demon blood at some point, didnt know he was lucifer's vessel. to her, he was just sam, the guy with a blurry past and she chose him

then dean came back, guiltripped him into thinking he needed to look for him right when sam finally felt free. he was thrown back at full force in this fucking destiny he so badly tried running from.

then he felt betrayed because even his brother chose someone else over him. benny, a vampire. sam was lost because HE CHOSE DEAN. he left amelia because his brother was more important to him than a woman just for sam to learn about benny.

sam tried everything, absolutely everything until he just accepted it. he was willing to die because if his destiny was going to be ending up alone anyways why bother? so he did the trials, he was going to close the gates of hell, he was going to die if it meant he could be remembered as a hero and not the ghost of his brother

sam accepts it, but that doesn't mean he doesn’t try and try again and again to get out of this trap that is being the one people don't really care about. he knows his brother will always be the angel, metaphorically and biblically speaking, michael's vessel, the one chosen by heaven to bear him

dean is cared for by heaven, literally. sam is the one they look down on, it doesn’t fucking matter how good he tries to be, how much he screams "LOOK AT ME, I'M GOOD, I'M NOT A FREAK ANYMORE, I'M TRYING" he will always be on his brother's shadow

if he knows, was a slow realization, or did it hit him at once? maybe at one evening, as bobby smiled softly at dean, and sam was surprised to see that type of gesture in bobby, but dean wasn't. so maybe it was strange and unfamiliar to him and him alone.

did he accept it? or did he try to grow closer to those around him? never quite managing it. he is too strange, too earnest.

in those days when the world is a bit more red, and the weather feels colder than natural, he would reason to himself that it's in his blood. that he's not made to fit in with the world around him, with the people on it. he is not clean, in the biblical and literal sense of the world.

but the cruelest reason, comes from the fact that it just might be him. not the blood, or destiny, or his actions.

he is just not that loveable.

For anyone paying attention in the Jacksepticeye Community, today’s video - Transference - was a hell of a firestarter as far as Blazing Fandom Infernos go.

After startling everyone with a constantly-changing, zalgo-text-including video title (all six of which are shown above), community theorists were able to pick this video apart frame by frame to find all the hidden goodies our lovely Team Septic hid there for us. There were a lot of super sneaky single-frame Easter Eggs (kudos to Robin) and they require a bit of frame-by-frame searching to find, or some major digging through the Transference tag here on Tumblr...so to make things a little easier, I’ve created a Master Post detailing what the community found between the pixels.

For starters, The Title™. At first, we all believed that YouTube had goofed again and the video had simply been posted with its original file title - as it has happened before. But no, this turned out not to be the case, because shortly after the video went up the title...changed. Only slightly. The text had begun to glitch, and it wasn’t too long after that when the glitching words “HAVE YOU SEEN HIM” appeared alongside the video in its place. Next came something a little closer to an actual episode title, along with an official thumbnail (shown below)...then we got a jumbled, zalgo’d title, the capital letters of which spelled out “HELP”. It was an entire hour after the original upload time that Episode 2 of Transference was in a normal state of upload, complete with thumbnail, free of any zalgo and (seemingly) back to normal.

Except it wasn’t. It still isn’t. Just look at the thumbnail:

I don’t know about you, but there’s something eerily familiar about this image.

Red lights and glitching eyes. As in most videos that appeared during the Egopocalypse back in May, red lights can be seen glowing in the background...and if you look closely at Jack’s right (our left) eye, it’s green, glitching, distorted.

And we haven’t even begun to touch the contents of the video.

04:05 - “Crystals”

Hidden behind a natural glitch within the game, a familiar face can be seen. It’s not clear whether it’s Anti or Jack, because while the person is wearing the same shirt as Jack is in the corner, the coloration is iconic. It’s interesting to note too, that while the glitches don’t always move between frames, the eyes do. Watching eyes, staring straight at the camera, that don’t stay still when everything else is.

14:10 & 14:11 - “Red Hallway”

This pair of appearances both came at a moment that put most viewers on the edge of their seats, whether they caught the hidden images or not. In Jack’s words from this same segment of the game:

“I do not like that...standing at the end of a fuckin’ - red hallway, silhouetted like that? Big fear.”

This is a clear reference to the red hallway scene with Chase at the end of “Dark Silence” and the images Robin snuck into Transference are from that same moment.

Perhaps this is a clue that it’s Chase, not Jack, who is playing this game? After all, the reason so many people were excited for Sean to play it is because of the parallels to the Egos, specifically Anti and Chase. Glitches, digital distortions, a red hallway...a broken family, a mother trying to leave a father and taking the child with her. While the story is different from Chase’s, the parallels are evident, and it wouldn’t be a big surprise if Jack had noticed it too and had planned accordingly. Though I suppose we’ll have to wait and see...

14:52 - “Harmonies”

This one lasted for only a few seconds, and it was more subtle and undertoned than the others. Jack, leaning his head to the side - the “Neck Thing” - and a visual lag. We’ve seen this effect before, and every time it shows up, all signs point to Anti.

20:12 - “Eyes”

Another familiar scene, hidden behind another glitch. (Kudos again to Robin, because holy shit this one’s good.) In game, Jack was being run down by the same distorted monster that has been appearing again and again throughout the game...and its approach was very similar to how Anti approached Chase in that infamous Red Hallway scene. So of course, after a few frames, the Glitch Bitch himself makes an appearance right behind the in-game distortion. You can see the shadow of his nose, the dark shapes of his eyes, and in the bottom-right corner the shoulder of his shirt can be seen. Just like here, in “Dark Silence”:

45:42 - “Still Here”

Did you think Anti would leave without saying goodbye? :3c Of course not!

In the single frame between Jack’s outro and Sam’s tank showing up, our glitchy boy makes one final appearance in the form of a final, sinister side-profile that supersedes the little window Jack has been playing from this whole time.

So what can we take from all this?

As far as I’m concerned, we don’t have nearly enough of the pieces to put this little puzzle together...but I have two ideas, one of which feels much more likely than the other.

1) This is Jack. Clearly, Anti hasn’t finished playing with our favorite boy, and he’s making it quite apparent that he’s in control. Jack may be the one on the screen, but Anti’s the one pulling the strings. Shameless and comedic HDWGH tour plugs, that same familiar sense of humor, plus jokes about “I thought speed was key?” from the previous video, and a lot of signs point to this being the same old irish bean we know and love...but (unknowingly) under Anti’s command.

2) The person we see in this video is Chase. Last we saw of our favorite trickshot master, Chase was being ambushed by Anti himself...and we haven’t exactly heard from him since. There are blatant parallels between this game and Chase’s life, though the story being told in the game is a much darker one, painting the father is the clear villain and a madman. (I would go so far as to say the game is a nightmare version of what Chase has been going through in his own life.) Sean mentions a fear of red hallways, of silhouetted faceless people standing at the end...and that’s what Chase went through at the end of “Dark Silence”. There was also a line in the game where Benjamin says: “I just wish we could go back.” Sean automatically say this in response:

“I just wish we could go back...to the way thing were before.”

Now, where have we heard that before? Chase, in the video for “Tie”. While one could also make the argument that Chase has been talking to Jack throughout his coma (and has probably said that same phrase at Jack’s bedside), and it’s possible that Jack’s automatic response could have been just a connection of a familiar phrase to something he’s heard before, it’s much more likely that it’s Chase. The way it was said, the absolute sadness and loss in his voice...that felt more genuine than on offhand comment.

Other things Sean said that raised a red flag for Chase:

“What’s wrong with this dad? Is he an alcoholic…?”

“Your wife, the dog… what about me? No one seems to care about me…”

“He was just focused on his work so she wanted to leave…” [A pause, where he looks rather forlorn]

Plus the lighting in the facecam? It’s not red. It’s. Not. Red. One of the key differences between Chase videos and Coma!Jack videos back in May was the lighting...specifically red lighting. Chase is a new player in this Nightmare World that Anti has created, so clearly isn’t as deep into the nightmare state that Jack is.

Again, there’s not enough evidence for us to come to a clear conclusion on any of this...so I suppose we’ll have to wait and see what else Jack and Robin are planning on sending our way. After all, October is just around the corner...

My SamCait Theories:

marking summer 2017. Sorry this is so long.

Some background on my fandom experience first.

When this show was advertising on Starz I knew I really wanted to watch it.  My husband did too.  It looked interesting and right up our ‘alley’.  So we showed up for the first episode, I know I’m going to continue watching a show when the first episode of any show ends and you just want it to keep going, I was hooked.  I didn’t even know it was based on books until the 4th episode when I actually read the credits, ok cool.  By the 8th episode I HAD TO KNOW WHAT WAS GOING TO HAPPEN, so I downloaded all the books on my Kindle and read them – not sure how far I got before the S2 premiere. This was good and bad, now I had something to compare the film version to the book version – sometimes I wish I hadn’t read the books, since I love the film version so much.  Anyhow, I digress.

While watching this amazing show I became enthralled with Caitriona Balfe. (I love actors – really good actors – I wanted to be a casting director when I was younger and I appreciate talent when I see it) And Caitriona Balfe had a ton of it.  So like any obsessed fan I started digging into google to find out more about her, her past works, ok maybe a bit of her personal life, etc..  My initial reaction to what I found was how genuine she was, how she was with her friends on social media, her normalcy – she had not been celebrityized yet (yes I just made that word up ;) ) and I fell in love with her.  This was late 2014 early 2015, I hadn’t gotten into the interviews and the buzz publicity stuff yet – I had not followed an actor/celebrity since I was 12 yrs old (1970s) and back then all we had were magazines – so all this was actually rather new to me.  Though once I started finding these things online I notice her and Mr. Sam Heughan, and I was like hmmm?  So I looked to see if either of them had significant others in their lives.  I found some stuff on Caitriona that she maybe had a boyfriend, but very little info at the time.  I started stalking (erm looking at all the beautiful pictures) on her and her friends’ instagram and found a photo at Thanksgiving 2014 with her friends at her and Simon’s house in West Hollywood and there was a guy that was sitting next to her, but she just didn’t look very happy at all and I couldn’t tell if this was the infamous boyfriend or not.  To this day I have not seen this guy surface in her orbit and do not know who he is/was.  So because I was a naive celebrity follower and after reading trash articles that said she had a boyfriend already and seeing that Sam was apparently living it up in Los Angeles I figured okay they’re just friends, and enjoyed the cuteness of them anyways. (btw – I hadn’t seen Paley yet, it was off my radar).  Oh and somewhere in there I saw mention of Tony McGill and the Christmas video and other photos of him being within her circle of friends and was a bit disappointed that I COULDN’T FIND SHIT ON HIM and that their chemistry was so hohum.  So to keep enjoying the SamCaitness I started finding fanvideos of them and I was a shipper before I knew what a fucking shipper was – and all by myself – or so I thought!  

So by now it’s late Spring early Summer and I am one OBSESSED Sassenanch, for the show and SamCait!  Ahh – SDCC 2015 – sometimes it seems like it was ages ago and sometimes it seems like it was just yesterday.  That was my “who the fuck do these fuckers think they’re kidding, they are not only fucking they are seriously together and I’m squeeing like a school girl lovin’ it!” moment.  And I start scouring the internet while at the same time signed up for twitter, signed up on instagram, somehow came across tumblr and was like hell yeah I AM NOT ALONE! And signed up there too.  So now that I was no longer alone and there was all kinds of speculation, love of these two goobers and discussions galore you kind of end up in a herd mentality to some degree, especially the more you are on tumblr, like every fucking day – my new obsession to go along with my Outlander and SamCait obsession!  Who AM I?  I don’t care I am having fun and have found my peeps.  

Being on tumblr opened my eyes to so much more that I hadn’t seen, interviews, articles, friends of theirs, other interactions that I hadn’t seen yet.  And speculations and theories, antis – what?.  So as this little/big tumblr of SamCait shippers are going along we are getting rewarded with some incredible SamCait cuteness to the max.  There was a squee at least every fucking week for weeks.  The speculations were out of control – no seriously, looking back it was a frenzied hot mess, they’re married, she’s pregnant, she’s not pregnant, she already had a baby, omg look at them, ooh rings we see rings, ooh everything they tweet is double entendres, every photo posted on instagram has some sort of meaning to it. Every obscure photo we were analyzing to death. Omg they’re going to reveal at People Choice Awards or some other event. I mean seriously looking back we were pretty cray cray!  Then the IFH happened and our Ship took on some heavy artillery and almost sunk.  We were stupefied, how could they do this to us, how could we be so wrong, how how how…. What the Fuck just happened?

Personally, after I recovered the initial blow, it allowed me to step back and see how the frenzied atmosphere that we all perpetuated is what caused us to feel so hurt.  It allowed me to ship without being so emotionally invested yet still enjoy them (although will admit with all the peripheral fuckery going on it sometimes is a challenge).  So here we are today and things just keep getting weirder and weirder in SamCait land – why?  

The question of the decade – why did Shitner happen, why did Mackenzie Mauzy happen and continues to, why did the IFH happen, why was Kristin Dos Santos suddenly re-assigned, why the newest failed attempt of denying even though no one is asking, why do SamCait still give us cuteness yet don’t, why is ALL OF THIS STILL GOING ON?  With all these questions we need to step back and ask this one - Who is seeing this?  The average/normal fan – no.  The obsessed fans – whether a shipper or not – yes!  Newly acquired obsessed fans as the show moves forward – yes and no!  So again we have to ask why?

Who is creating this obscure Sam + Mac relationship – SamCait, The Powers That Be, Publicists?  Someone is orchestrating this narrative we are in, if we can figure out why, we may be able to make sense of it.  What is attempting to be achieved?  For whatever reason someone/s do not want fans thinking/believing that SamCait are together in real life.  So these things keep happening – we see it in real time because we are always watching (the obsessed fan/s).  But what happens is the trash articles are published all over the internet and I think about when I first started stalking erm I mean looking for more information on these two, I would read trash articles and not know any better that they are just that.  I was like oh okay, must be true – yeah I know naive as hell.  But then the question comes up again WHY do they – whoever they may be – want the fans/public to believe these two gorgeous people who are leads of a very romantic show not together? Why is it so fucking important that this narrative be pushed?  What does someone/s have to gain by having fans – current and future – believe this story?  And why is this ‘gain’ so important that they would go to these lengths – side note, here’s the thing, these efforts probably seem extreme to us for a couple of reasons – 1. we’re very aware of it all as it is happening and 2. we are not the entity who is orchestrating this and probably incapable of thinking like them, hence our confusion.  So if we can just figure out a why they want this narrative to be believed then we would be able to understand it – maybe.

So let us go through a few scenarios to see if one of them jives.

SamCait want us to believe they are not together – first question would be why? (always with the why!)  So back at the end of 2015 when the shippers were in a frenzy and then SamCait got back to Los Angeles where the IFH happened, some theories were expressed that one or both of them had been threatened regarding their ‘togetherness’ and they had to do something to diffuse this threat – IFH happened. So let us assume this is what happened, but going forward them being who they are, the ‘cuteness’ came back albeit not as intense as it was before and again threats were made.  So perhaps looking for assistance with this problem (this part I truly can’t fathom except they didn’t realize how bad it would go) they or their PR enlisted Shitner – he starts on his rampage against shippers and it leaves nothing but carnage and kind of backfires big time.  So time to bring out the ‘big guns’ enter stage left MM.  Next question that arises is who recruited her into this?  First photo of her and Sam is on a facebook page, there is a low on the totem pole Starz employee who ‘took’ the photo or was in the photo – HAD SOMETHING TO DO WITH THIS PHOTO.  Redflags are going off in the fandom.  Still assuming we are dealing with someone threatening our ‘babies’ did Starz get involved to help push the narrative forward?  Possibly.  So here’s where I start having a problem with this scenario – every fucking time SamCait are NOT in California especially and are in Europe or even South Africa, their ‘cuteness’ is on overdrive.  As soon as this starts happening OR they show up in the States, Shitner goes off, and MM is trotted out in either staged photos with Sam or innuendo photos from her or Sam.  Is there really a crazy person out there that goes off every time their ‘cuteness’ is shown? After a year and a half how come no one is able to catch this crazy fucker if the threat is real?  And if it is real how sad for everyone involved!!! Except Shitner the only sad thing about him is he’s a sad excuse for a human being.

Next up Publicists – if this is true I have no idea why and they should fire their sorry asses, nuf said on this.

The almighty powerful TPTB.  Alrighty then, what drives TPTB?  That is an easy one MONEY MONEY MONEY and POWER POWER POWER!  If ya’ll will remember SamCait missed the People’s Choice Awards because they got stuck in Costa Rica from the bad weather (I truly believe they were both there TOGETHER).   Now the PCAs for their category isn’t huge BUT it is publicity for them and THE SHOW! And lo’ and behold the stars of the show cancel at the last minute.  Big ass No No!  And now someone is in trouble!  What if TPTB did not know SamCait are together at this time, now the ‘cat’ is out of the bag and they don’t like it one bit.  They decide this needs to be ‘fixed’ NOW (POWER). So they force SamCaits’ hand and basically tell them in no uncertain terms – you see this ‘clause’ right here in your contracts? Being together in real life is not allowed and THIS is what you are going to do moving forward.  First deny that you are a couple, here’s your script SELL IT!  Well we all know how that went down.  At this point Shitner – is he just a loose cannon or did TPTB request his assistance in this ‘plan’ or was he just an unexpected benefit? Who the fuck knows and at this point it doesn’t really matter cos’ that asswipe happened.  Again SamCait being who they are they can’t control their ‘cuteness’ soooo TPTB ramp it up and bring in MM, puts her on the payroll to do what she’s been doing ever since she first appeared on the ‘scene’.

Okay, okay – we’ve heard this theory before but we can not fathom the why of it completely.  What if it is simply this, in their skewed perception of fandom and their belief that two leads of a romantic show should not be seen in real life as being together as it will somehow diminish and affect the bottom line (MONEY) –meaning their pockets.  Perhaps it is as simple as that and they will go to great lengths (POWER) to attempt to create this narrative for now and the future – as in future fans.  We as Shippers really do not matter, we are a fraction of this obsessed fandom and by having Shitner and the fucking twat Lynette Rice declare us as crazy anything we put out there to the contrary narrative will just be ignored (in their hopes).  I mean they can’t fire the leads, but they can enforce and make them ‘go along’ with this for now.  Of course, as we’ve seen time and time again SamCait just cannot contain their CUTENESS, as long as they keep showing it, TPTB will keep trying to manipulate the truth to satisfy their own ‘needs/wants/egos’…

So which theory is truth? I don’t know, I/we may never know, but it doesn't really matter because:

Always remember and never forget – IT IS NOT ABOUT US!  We are here for the SamCait CUTENESS.  That is all.

The future - and it is showing us this loud and clear

This episode was amazing. After flailing and basically shouting all day I am so happy and so excited that I joined tumblr - the quality of posts today has been excellent, both humorous and inciteful and I LOVE YOU ALL :)

I hope its ok I’m going to tag a few great posts in this to reference as I don't want to go over stuff other people have already meta-d about so excellently!

This episode, titled the future, seems to me to be Dabb basically telling us what he wants for the next part of the show, the “better way” that he wants to take it.

So here are my main bullet points that I will expand on a little below and link those excellent posts to where relevant:

A. Sam 

Sam is clearly portrayed again, recurrently as the researcher, the “brains” of the operation (before you say ‘Dean is so clever though!’ I’m just pointing out Sam’s love of the scholarly side of things and how this is where he fits). Sam’s endgame must now be to head up the MoL/hunter network in this respect.

B. Sam and Dean 

They work so well as a team here, Sam putting a tracker in Cas’s phone while he’s distracted by Dean, researching v whatever Dean was doing (maybe making a pining mixtape along the lines of “all by myself” and “I miss you” “please come home”, BUT they are shown as different people, with different interests, skills and relationships - with Cas for example, & not codependent. Again hammering this home in this episode. THANK YOU DABB, GLYNN & BERENS.

C. THE RECURRING AND CONSISTENT NARRATIVE OF DESTIEL.

This whole episode is one big love fest. We went from one ‘wow I can't believe they just did that!’ to the next to the next with hardly enough time for us to catch out breath! WHAT WAS THIS EPISODE?!

OK, so we have :

1. My Romeo & Juliet / Gaze up Trope Balcony Meta.

2. The Mixtape Meta, another EXPLICIT romantic trope by @drsilverfish.

3. The Dean “keep it” parallels, the first one that came to my mind was Arwen (another human+ / eternal being who decided to relinquish immortality couple):

Aragon: this belongs to you. Arwen: keep it, it was a gift… it is mine to give to whom I will, like my heart.

But also all the other ‘gift’ tropes, the standard romantic trope that when a couple breaks up you return the gifts.... I think Cas wasn’t sure he was going to be forgiven, after Dean’s outburst in the war room, so he goes to return the cassette, but Dean does forgive him nearly instantaneously, which actually makes it even worse that he has to steal the colt straight after...

5. The difference between Sastiel and Destiel again emphasised, more and more this season. I don't think I even have to detail this, just, basically the whole episode shows this.

6. This magnificent gifset by @magnificent-winged-beast which shows the difference between Dean’s angst at actually watching the colt get destroyed and the potential killing of Cas...

Slight aside - Performing!Dean. 

This magnificent gifset that shows Dean’s facade coming down, he doesn't even attempt to make it sound less ‘gay’ when he tells Sam that Cas came to his room, played him and took the colt from his secret hiding place under his pillow, he even looks down before he says it like he KNOWS how it is going to sound but says it anyway.

4. SO...WHY is Dean still doing everything he did for Cas during this episode and still defending him to Sam even though he appeared pissed and Cas repeatedly betrayed him?

Well, in 12x12 Cas said “I love you”, clearly understood by Dean (and Sam to be directed at Dean). There was no real reciprocation though from Dean, other than Dean family-zoning him and Sam’s fantastic “we are doing this for you, Cas”. 

So regarding Dean, Cas is hurt and believes it isn't reciprocated. Now Dean is pissed and still using the WE card at every turn, so what is a celestial being to do? Cas assumes this is the end, that there is no hope, he returns the mixed tape. BUT Dean says no keep it, this is NOT the end. 

Cas understands that this is therefore not the end, but it is complicated. He explains that he wanted to “come back with a win for you.... for myself”. He wants this for Dean and for himself, this is very important, everything he is doing now and in the future is NOT all about Dean, there is his own agency and morality involved here too.

For Cas, when it comes to it, he wants this reciprocation of his love of course, but right now he has bigger fish to fry and really he wants to protect Sam and Dean and save the world. 

Now, going back to the “what the hell is wrong with you man?” followed by an awkward silence.... and where Cas then goes to return the gift. Yes, Cas feels that he has said his piece in 12x12 and is rebuffed, but meanwhile Dean is struggling with what Cas has said and everything else that is going on. He has a lot on his plate, not only Cas but his own personal history, his deep seated issues that he is clearly working on this season (see all the performing!Dean facade crumbling meta going around), his issues around his mother, the BMoL, Lucifer, the nephilim.... I mean that is a lot for an emotionally healthy person let a lone DEAN WINCHESTER.

Dean is trying to say / show how he feels he’s just rubbish at it, but he's getting better!

Oh, and I just need to add how��desperate I am for Sam to turn to Dean soon and just say “No, Dean, this is between you and Cas, stop bringing me into this”. PLEASE I SWEAR I WILL BE GOOD! I mean, how repeated, consistent and out of place it was (I mean, not only to shippers, I think anyone would think it was out of place the way it was portrayed in their personal conversation in Dean’s room) - this has got to be addressed, no?!

 5. A better way

So. What does this mean moving forwards?

Well, firstly, I have moved from being 85% sure Destiel would be endgame to about 95% sure. Lets be real. This episode cements this. Whether you like it or not, it’s happening.

So, what is the better way?

Overall, it seems that Dabb wants to move things forwards. And his key points all season are Free Will, breaking from past repressions and negative influences, moving forwards with what the characters choose and want for their endgame and for sure now endgame Destiel.

I have in the past speculated about quite a lot of stuff, some right and some... still to be seen and some not right, but the overall arc speculation that I saw foreshadowed since early season 12 is RIGHT ON TRACK.

Now, the question is will Dabb go backwards and go to the old, standard SPN ways where probably Dean and Cas will be separated, Cas will be wrong again in his trust in the nephilim - it WILL be evil (rehash of s6 and s8) and he will need to be ‘broken’ from the mind control by Dean in a stronger crypt scene etc etc etc.

Or will he move forwards, onto a “better way”? Will we get another s11 ‘happy ending’? Where it appears all good but there is still stuff going on behind the scenes for s13... Or maybe a not so happy ending but that ultimately will be resolved happily? 

Maybe the baby has it’s grace removed (so glad this is an option it was driving me insane that they hadn't mentioned it by now!) OR it’s not evil at all! it’s the ANTI-anti-Christ, it chose Cas because he is Lucifer’s mirror in that he LOVES Humanity. I mean, the whole point of the show is agency, free will and not being forced to follow the result of your parentage / past ....especially this season with Sam and Dean’s arcs....

Maybe human!Cas, potential hunter Daddies, Cas staying at home calling Dean while he's out on MOTW hunts with Sam being all “Dean there’s poop everywhere, I’m sorry it got on your favourite shirt, but please please come home this is so hard!” “OK babe, don't worry, we’ll be back tomorrow, the case was a milk run!” when actually Dean nearly died and Sammy saved the day and.... etc because really? what are we supposed to think from that motel scene? With Cas smiling all cute and using the world “righteous” when talking about the kids future guardian?! (and Kelly survives if we are going to be extra nice).

Maybe Lucifer will die / be dealt with and it is the MoL that are the big bad next year.....aiding the overall future arc of TFW as leaders of the MoL/Hunter collaboration (Chuck I hope so).

Or will it be a mix of the two?

Well my money is on that it will be a mix....
