Goodbye, old friend.
Just found out Roblox deleted their classic and iconic "Oof" sound effect. On top of that, the new sound effect isn't nearly, nor will it ever be, as good as the old one. I will miss it dearly. I guess games like Push Oofs Off A Skyscraper will ramp up in popularity due to the amount of mourning souls wishing to hear the sound in-game for one last time, if it's even still there. RIP the Oof. You were my [late] childhood. You will be missed, and you will be loved. </3

July News!
The Roblox death sound 'oof' or uhhh.wav has been officially replaced by a new sound.
This piece was first noticed by CloneTrooper1019 or MaximumADHD on July 26 where he displayed a video of the new sound. He voiced his distains towards the matter by saying this:
"Fuck you Tommy, you absolute bankrupt narcissistic grifter.
You just had to have a chunk of that pie and shit on our community and culture instead of humbly letting the one piece of old Roblox culture we still have left today live in peace.
Oof will always belong to us."
If you don't know who this Tommy is, Tommy Tallarico is a person who have dealt with the 'oof' situation around 2020 since the sound effect originated from a very obscure game named Messiah in 2001 (Video Proof). This was talked about through KonekoKitten's vid where it mentioned that Tommy found out that the sound was used in a 2006 MMO game and wanted legal compensation for it.
Through a DevFourm back in 2020, it has been confirmed that the founders, Builderman/David and Erik Cassel founded this sound effect through CD-ROM full of licensed, copyright-free sounds. It has also said that Tallarico himself has no copyright nor proof towards the sound yet ROBLOX has said that they have asked him to be apart of their creative community in hopes of exploring various opportunities. A video made by greenlegocats123 feature this fourm along with screenshot of Tallarico providing proof that he technically owns the sound.
On the very same day, ROBLOX has come to speak on the matter via tweet to where a user named Dawgra or DwagraDogu has voiced their disappointment with people siding with Tommy as he claimed that Tommy has insulted its players and shamelessly plugged in his kit in a DevFourm.
A campaign of sorts has been trending on Twitter named #SaveTheOOF, started and created by CloneTrooper, where many individuals want the sound to continue within the platform as the sound effect seems to be the only relic left from the Classic and Old era of Roblox. It is said by CloneTrooper that the cultual imapct wasn't done by the company but rather the fans or userbase since there have been many vids during 2016 where people were remixing the sound into different existing songs.
A user named @my_chappie have complied all things that were once a part of Roblox's culture but now gone: giftsplosions, egg hunts, guests, tickets/tix, gears, and older games. This can also include seasonal events, iconic music, and voxel terrain. On the other hand, other users such as @EpicsEpics and @Mathep11 placed their thoughts on the matter to where they think it's just a sound and nothing more or that people are overreacting.
Although, a user named @chris12902 gave an alternative on replacing the new with 'uhhh.wav' by going through its files:
C:\Users\User\AppData\Local\Roblox\Versions\version-698262888e864914\content\sounds
Yet, there's also suspicion towards Tommy Tallarico due to how a tweet made by Plasmamode came out with the individual DM'ing him on the 'oof' situation. This has come to a split where one side claims he's legally right to do so since ROBLOX had an option to pay at least $10k while the other sees him as an inflated ego with a need for greed and sees the userbase as walking ATMs.
As of now, the sound you'll be hearing on your servers will be the new sound throughout the 2020s and so forth.

CCornSyrup says: #SaveTheOOF The "oof" sound got removed because of licensing issues with the original sound that was in the game "Messiah". Roblox will most likely not do a thing, https://twitter.com/CCornSyrup/status/1552096223389253632 created at July 26, 2022 at 05:59PM
