If we could get a group together so that we have a wider net/more hands, we’d probably get so much more done. I saw some people in the tag make posts, but we kind of need to do a little more than just make posts and ask for people to sign petitions. We need videos. We need letters. We need people attaching #savestillstarcrossed ribbons to plastic tiaras and sending it to ABC Studios. Idk if I have the voice to convince people. Sorry I didn’t mean to write an essay. I’m just kind of surprised at how mad/determined I am lol

hello friends!! as the first part of our campaign to save still star-crossed, we decided to host a still star-crossed appreciation week that spans both tumblr and twitter! this appreciation week will spread the word about our campaign, help to unify the fandom toward one cause, and hopefully gain us some visibility on twitter. it will be held from monday, august 7th to sunday, august 13th, and fans are encouraged to participate on both tumblr and twitter if possible!

tuesday (aug. 8): favorite character

wednesday (aug. 9): favorite otp

thursday (aug. 10): favorite brotp (any sibling/familial relationship or friendship!)

friday (aug. 11): favorite quote

saturday (aug. 12): most powerful scene (this would be the scene that emotionally affected you the most. it could be your happiest/saddest scene or any scene that felt important or special to you.)

sunday (aug. 13): why you love the show (this is the important one! this day is pretty much a free day for your creations, but be sure to include in your description all of the reasons why the show is important to you and why you think it deserves to continue.)

an extra note:

even if you normally participate in these things only on tumblr, we really encourage you to participate on twitter as well! the reason for this is that tumblr won’t get us much visibility by the people that matter, but twitter will. our goal is to get #savestillstarcrossed trending as much as we can throughout the week!

Nope, not this time!

So we lost Pitch, Sleepy Hollow, Underground, and Cristela (not gonna mention characters that are played by WOC). Not gonna lose Still Star Crossed. 

So if you guys have Twitter, PLEASE hashtag #SaveStillStarCrossed and @ it ABC, Netflix, and etc if you can because this is some bull at this point. 

(I highly recommend to @ Shonda Rhimes as well because SERIOUSLY you have a black woman lead show that is clearly being shafted by the network and you’re not speaking up about it?!?! I’m hopefully missing something here.)

Look I get the show was expensive, but at this point it looks like ABC was thinking “Fuck it, we’ll do nothing and make is choppy so it fails”. 

Wrong show to have little faith in, because when you have a period piece that has cast MAINLY made up of WOC actresses that are not playing maids, slaves, sidekicks, “other woman”, and etc, best believe WOC viewers will fight for this show.

there’s going to be a twitter trend tonight (august 12th) at 10 pm EST of #savestillstarcrossed because our tiny fandom is trying to get salvation for this show. we’ll also be tagging networks like hulu and amazon in hopes that they’ll consider picking up the show.

even if you don’t watch still star-crossed, please, please consider helping us out. even if you’re not a fan, still star-crossed is a show that advocates diversity and strong female leads. it’s also a fun period drama full of tropes and romance, but it also has powerful and emotional moments. it’s one of those shows that people claim to want but keep getting cancelled. please consider helping us out!!

Still Star crossed appreciation week - Day 6: most powerful scene

And I won’t. Instead I’ll pick 3 scenes because it’s my post and I do what I want. I mean COME ON! the show was freaking great. It doesn’t have one great scene. It has several and here are my faves.

That was probably the first time Rosaline opened up to Benvolio (and maybe the first time she opened up to anyone) about her family, her parent’s death and the cost of the Capulet/Montague war. The price the women, mothers, wifes, sisters had to pay for the boys to get their stupid revenge. And despite her anger, Rosaline also showed a more vulnerable part of herself to Benvolio. + Amazing acting from Lashana lynch.

I see this scene as the counterpart of the first one I mentionned. In this one Benvolio is the one showing vulnerability and opening up to Rosaline. He’s asking for her help because he trusts her, because she’s a good person and that was truly a key moment in their relationship for me.

And last but not least:

Do I even need to explain this one. It’s both the completion and the begining of everything (or it could have been if ABC wasn’t such a little sh*t)

Hello, Babes: Poll Time!

So there are two ideas floating around in the old noggin for some fun stuff for the cast to show our appreciation.

1) A “Thank You” video compilation for the cast?

ex.

“Thank you Lashsana for showing me what it means to be a powerful woman.”

“Thank you Wade for giving us a vulnerable male lead” 

Except, you know, better than what I wrote lol. 

OR

Would you rather have a photo collage of fans holding up signs with the phrase #savestillstarcrossed on it and send it to the cast/networks. 

Please note: 

Pros: 

-the thank you compilation would allow for more fans to voice more personal opinions (and reasons why the show should be looked at as more than just a failure)

-the collage will show how many people want the show to come back, and bring attention to the hashtag.

Cons:

-The video would take much longer to finish, and it may not be easy for everyone to record/send a video.

-the collage will be pretty simple and won’t really tell people why we want to save the show.
