Real fast Sabretooth Tumbler- is there a reason Vic's eyes are shown as both blue or amber? Because in older comics, he had blue eyes. Then in "Sabretooth", "Sabretooth and the Exiles", and now "Sabretooth War", he has amber eyes. Briefly in a flash back in "Sabretooth #1", he had blue eyes, and in "House of X", he had blue eyes.
At the end of the day, it isn't a big detail, but I'm just curious if there is an actual reason other than design purposes?

🐺 Victor Creed in X-Men Origins: Wolverine: The Beast Who Refuses to Be Broken 🐺
Alright, y'all, it’s time to talk about one of the most complex, raw, and tragically misunderstood characters in the X-Men universe: Victor Creed, aka Sabretooth, in X-Men Origins: Wolverine. This man is not just the “bad guy” or the “savage brother.” He’s a walking, talking embodiment of what it means to embrace the animal within, to survive by any means necessary, and to reject the very idea of being human. Let's get into it because this man is more than claws and fangs—he's the manifestation of what happens when you choose to be a monster to protect yourself from the world. 🧵✨
1. Victor’s Mutation: The Best Thing That Ever Happened to Him
Victor’s feral mutation didn’t just emerge—it saved him. As a child, he grew up in an environment of violence, abuse, and fear, with his father Thomas Logan being the embodiment of that brutality. And when those claws and fangs finally emerged? It wasn’t just a mutation—it was freedom. It was power. For the first time in his life, Victor had the means to defend himself, to fight back, to be something other than a victim.
His mutation wasn’t just a gift—it was a lifeline. It became a part of his identity, a source of strength that allowed him to confront his abuser and say, “You don’t own me anymore.” Can you imagine how liberating that must have felt? For a boy who was always afraid to suddenly have the power to defend himself? It’s no wonder he embraced it so completely. It wasn’t just power; it was survival. It was proof that he could never be broken again.
Key Point: Victor’s claws and fangs were more than just weapons—they were his armor, his shield against a world that had always hurt him. They were the only thing standing between him and a life of endless pain.
2. “Become Like Me, Brother” – The Call to Embrace the Beast
Victor wants Logan to give in to the animal inside because, for him, it’s the only way to survive. He sees Logan struggling, fighting against his primal urges, trying so hard to be “good,” to be human. And to Victor, that’s weakness. Because the moment you start to care, the moment you try to be anything other than a beast, you make yourself vulnerable. And Victor? He never wants to feel vulnerable again.
To him, the animal is freedom. It’s power. It’s the ability to take what you want, to protect yourself, to never be at the mercy of anyone or anything. He genuinely believes that if Logan would just let go—if he’d stop fighting and give in to the rage, the hunger, the feral instinct—then he’d be unstoppable. They’d be unstoppable. Brothers in blood and in the wild, untamed by society’s rules.
But what Victor doesn’t understand is that Logan’s fight to remain human is exactly what makes him strong. It’s not about denying the beast; it’s about finding the balance. And that’s something Victor can never accept because, deep down, he’s terrified of what it means to be human.
Key Point: Victor’s desperation for Logan to join him isn’t just about wanting a partner in crime—it’s about validating his own choices. If Logan gives in, then Victor doesn’t have to face the fact that maybe, just maybe, he didn’t have to become a monster.
3. “Being a Man Means Being Vulnerable” – Victor’s Fear of Humanity
Victor’s biggest fear isn’t death or pain—it’s being human. Because being human means owning up to your actions, facing the consequences, and acknowledging the pain you’ve caused. It means caring about people, letting them in, and risking the possibility that they might hurt you. And that’s something Victor can’t handle.
He’s spent his entire life building this wall of savagery, violence, and primal instinct to protect himself from ever feeling weak, scared, or helpless again. In his mind, being a man means accepting that you’re not all-powerful, that you’re capable of making mistakes, of feeling pain, of being hurt. And Victor would rather die than let himself be that vulnerable again.
So he embraces the beast, the monster, because it’s easier to be something people fear than something people can hurt. And that’s why he’s so desperate to make Logan see things his way. He doesn’t want to be alone in his darkness. He doesn’t want to face the fact that he’s been running from himself for so long that he’s forgotten what it means to be anything other than a monster.
Key Point: Victor’s fear isn’t of being beaten—it’s of being seen. Of having to confront the scared, angry boy who still lives inside him, the one who learned to bare his fangs because it was the only way to survive.
4. The Tragedy of Victor Creed: The Man Who Chose the Monster
Victor Creed isn’t just a villain—he’s a tragic figure. He’s a man who believed that power was the only way to protect himself, that embracing the beast was the only way to be strong. And in doing so, he’s lost everything that made him human. He’s pushed away the one person who could truly understand him, all because he’s terrified of what it means to care, to feel, to be vulnerable.
He doesn’t hate Logan—he envies him. He envies the fact that Logan still tries to be good, still fights to be more than just his claws and fangs. And that’s why Victor pushes him, taunts him, tries to drag him down into the darkness. Because if Logan can hold onto his humanity, then what excuse does Victor have for letting go of his?
Key Point: Victor’s journey is the ultimate cautionary tale about what happens when you let fear, pain, and anger define you. He chose to be the monster because it was easier than facing the man in the mirror.
The Bottom Line: Victor Creed is the Animal Who Refused to Be Tamed
Victor isn’t just feral—he’s the embodiment of what happens when you stop fighting against the darkness inside you and let it consume you. He’s a reminder that sometimes, being a monster feels safer than being human. But at what cost? In rejecting his humanity, Victor has isolated himself, condemned himself to a life of loneliness, rage, and endless bloodshed.
And that’s the tragedy of Victor Creed. He’s not evil because he wants to be—he’s evil because it’s the only way he knows how to survive. And until he’s ready to face the fear and pain that turned him into a monster, he’ll never be anything more than the beast he so desperately clings to.
---
TL;DR: Victor Creed is the embodiment of what it means to embrace the darkness, to find power in being feral and untamed. He’s a man who chose to be a monster because it meant never being vulnerable again. And that’s why he pushes Logan to join him—because he’s terrified of being alone in the darkness he’s built around himself.

Tell me, Marvel. Tell me why you have to do this.
Tell me why you have to take a character who will, next year, have 50 YEARS of character development and strip absolutely all of the nuance and complexity out of him and boil him down to LOL IRREDEEMABLE MASS MURDERER FOR FUNSIES.
Tell me why you had to derail a perfectly good plot with Sabretooth becoming a leader figure to the mutant exiles to instead, him and a bunch of AU variants coming to kill all the mutants on Krakoa for literally no reason.
We have been through this. SO MANY. Times before and I think this is the worst fucking one. At least you used to let this man have some kind of motivation.
And Sabretooth was NEVER nothing but a fucking irredeemable mass murder. No matter what that SHITHEAD CHARLES XAVIER had to say about it.
When Sabretooth first appeared he was written as a sassy, savage and smart international assassin and killer for hire.
Then we found out that he had brain damage from military programming. This man is literally a fucking disabled war veteran.
And you know what?? The worst fucking retcon that Marvel ever pulled was years ago. When they started ignoring that Sabretooth DIDN'T kill Silver Fox.
He didn't kill her!! He and Logan didn't even have a poisonous history until Project X used brainwashing to turn them against one another!
And after finding all that out, when started to become an unhinged killer with no motivation and no joy he SOUGHT HELP FOR THAT. He tried to fucking medicate himself because it was too much! and when the medication wasn't working he sought help from the X-Men and they locked him up and told him he was irredeemable.
And after that he got used as a fucking government slave again! They put him in a shock collar and they enslaved him as their own attack dog.
And when he broke out of that control??? He fucking went after Weapon X to fuck THEM over!!! And he went back to doing hired assassin shit. He's not just a fucking pointless monster who has no motivation and kills for no reason. He kills for money. He kills for fun sometimes. But that's not everything of who he is and I'm tired of him having everything stripped from him.
The Madripoor arc where he was a crime boss hanging out with Mystique and in charge of the dark hand, that shit was great! That's how you use Sabretooth as a villain! He killed Wolverine then!!! HE KILLED WOLVERINE.
And then later, AFTER everybody got zapped with the "morality reverse" after he changed back, Sabretooth still decided to give being a hero a try. And he was good at it!! He was an excellent "Anti-hero" somebody to hang around all the other light side paladin and remind them that killing their enemies is EASY.
We could have had that for years. We could still have that. That was only 2017.
But no. BUT NO.
You retcon the whole god damn universe take away literally all of his character development STICK HIM IN A HOLE FOR YEARS, then promise us maybe MAYBE we'll get Sabretooth and The Exiles.
AND NOW THIS.
I HAVE FUCKING HAD ENOUGH MARVEL.
There are good ways to use sabretooth as a villain and this shit ain't it.

My thoughts on Victor Creed is like: He’s irredeemable. He’s haunted. Being good was a lie to him. He has no morals at all. He’s been in love with the same man for over 100 years. He’s tried to kill that man multiple times. Someone please fuck this guy. I hope he has horror put on him. I hope he kills. He knows he’s a monster. I hope he’s told something nice today. He’s wild. He wishes he could be something else. No he doesn’t. He’s tech savvy. He’s smart. He’s everything.
My thoughts on fem! Victor Creed: oh I need her to fuck me oh god pls

[ like not to get all paleontology nerd on everybody but if we're gonna code victor along the lines of a prehistoric north american predatory cat, sizewise of course the natural inclination is to go with Smilodon, with populator being the largest species of the genus. plus he's got the body type (large broad shoulder girdle, big head, shorter rear quarters suitable for springing but not necessarily leaping)
however.
victor is Canadian. coincidentally, there's a much larger, predatory cat that lived in Canada during the pleistocene. Wasn't necessarily a sabertooth (S. fragilis, the midrange size of sabertooths did exist in the area occupying a different niche) BUT
living in what is modern-day alberta was: (drumroll...)
Panthera atrox a.k.a. the American Lion
Tumblr media
oh and sizewise?
Tumblr media
anyway if i ever roleplay a reformed sabretooth he might go by 'Atrox' (which means 'savage' or 'cruel' uvu) bc reasons this has been my paleo ramblings for the evening enjoy ]

Sci FI Month:Why X Men the Animated series is awesome
Tumblr media
So I binged the entierty of X Men the Animated Series and I intended to make an epic review with episode reccomendations, annnnnd it ended up too long ,so instead I am going to go over reasons why this show is Great and has an enduring legacy
1.X Men in general as a franchise has tons of characters to choose from and I think it is so wise of the show that they limit it to 9 core characters, while some fan favorites get really good guest appearences like Nightcrawler
2.The Characterization and relationships are top notch ,every character gets a spot light and each character has layers ,with each character having their own demons.Even Professor X who couldve just been the mentor figure gets fleshed out to where you understand why he does what he does .Oh if you wanna know who my fave characters are:Storm,Wolverine ,Gambit, and Beast
3.The villains are varied ,from the anti villainous Magneto ,to the brutish Juggernaut ,to the bigoted Graydon Creed ,to the sadistic Sabretooth,to the complicated Mystique ,to the cold Mr Sinister to (My favorite ) the bombastic Apoclaypse
4.As a comic adaptation I think its fun that the show doesnt limit itself to one period of X Men but pays tribute to 30 years of comics:The designs are Jim Lee inspired, they pay tribute to Lee and Kirby, the stories pull a lot from Chris Clairmount ,and several episodes were written by comic legend Len Wein
5.The show doesnt have the biggest budget but with its shading ,strong character designs and editing it still holds up rather decently
6.Voice acting is all around solid,Cal Dodd,Lenore Zahn,George Buza and John Colicos are the go to voices for Wolverine,Rogue,Beast and Apocalypse to me
7.The series is serialized with a conitinuity, which while common with modern cartoons, was kind of a new thing back then.We can thank this show for changing how action cartoons were done. Also each season has a distinct feel with the first three having story arcs(The Sentinels in season one,Magneto and Xavier trapped in the Savage Land in season 2 , andDealing with the aliens known as the Shiar Empire in season 3 )
8.The writing does not talk down to kids,in fact the writing for the show is very good not shying away from the fact this is a show about prejudice
9.I think the show has good momentum getting better and better up to Season 4 ,which is the best season of the show .Now Season 5 does feel like it is running on fumes, but it still has great episodes and contiains one of the greatest animated series finales ever "Graduation Day "
10.And of course.....The theme song is kickass
youtube
If you want me to explain my feelings more just ask me,I am more then willing to ramble about this amazing cartoon.I plan to do my top 10 favorite episodes, villains, and multi parters
