there are LAYERS to this. let me break it down,

1. must be characters whose company i’d find, at the very least, moderately enjoyable. we are getting nowhere if i hate your guts, no matter how good a driver you are.

2. must be characters who would, theoretically, enjoy each other’s company. either we’re all having a good time, or no one is.

3. must be able to fulfill their assigned role to my perceived satisfaction.

and so! my answer.

driver: gus. i can count on one hand the number of gilliverse characters that i would trust behind the wheel of a car. but gus has never given me a reason to doubt his abilities. laser focus, a cool temperament, and that earth sign energy that’ll keep us all sane.

shotgun: flynn. i just know he’d be great on aux, plus, he would know all the best places to stop for food along the way.

backseat: jimmy. i agonized over this one, not even gonna lie. this practically defines the whole dynamic, so you can understand the pressure. but i would trust jimmy to keep our spirits up and the conversation going. and he would definitely bring good snacks. i KNOW he’d get along great with flynn, especially if their lone interaction in brba is any indication. i think gus might find him a bit crude, but otherwise endearing. just a lil silly guy. nonthreatening. certified court jester.
