Good News From Israel
In the 16th July 23 edition of Israel’s good news, the highlights include:
Israeli personally tailored therapies can cure infections and infertility.
Israeli surgeons don’t need electricity to save a life in Ethiopia.
Israeli scientists won awards from France and NASA.
A new European fund is to invest a quarter of a billion dollars in Israeli startups.
An Israeli startup will generate electricity from Taiwan’s choppy seas.
The Israel Premier Tech cycling team won the 9th stage of the Tour de France.
An Israeli NGO is saving the bees – one swarm at a time.
This newsletter edition is entitled "Chai-Tech", merging the term "Hi-Tech" with "Chai" - the Hebrew word for "Living" / "Lives". The reason is that there is so much recent news about Israeli technology to benefit human lives.
Almost all the medical articles involve Israelis using hi-tech to save lives, including breakthroughs in personalized medicine, global vaccines, stroke monitors, digital insoles, brain disease diagnosis, prescription checkers and the innovations of Sheba Medical Center.
Israeli life-saving climate-tech features high in this newsletter with Israel's plans for a 1,000-strong delegation to COP28, the recent climate-tech delegation to the UK, 15 Israeli Climate Awards candidates, France's award to an Israeli hydrogen scientist, and Taiwan implementing Israel's wave energy solution. Israeli hi-tech is also benefiting the environment by using seaweed to generate electricity, turning potato waste foliage into a food source, more vegan substitutes for meat, sustainable farming solutions and ultra-efficient space propulsion.
Other hi-tech programs include multi-million investments into Israeli companies developing 3D printed organs, security for schools, digital health, food-tech and agri-tech solutions. No wonder Israeli hi-tech startups are actively being sought by the US States of Virginia and Maryland.
The photo shows the construction of a solar roof over the soccer pitch of our local school in Netanya, providing shade to the young players, and green electricity for the school and the grid. Another "high"-tech solution making life better for the next generation. Am Yisrael Chai!

Saudi Arabia - Final Day
Today is our last day in Jeddah and in Saudi Arabia. I have a 6:20 AM flight tomorrow morning. The ride to the airport leaves at 3 AM.
Today felt a bit like a filler day. We started at a museum in town that has 60, or was it 70, rooms or stuff. It was a version of the house museums on steroids. There was no place to rest your eyes in three floors of exhibits. We were there for an hour and a half!!! In a half hour I was out the door and sitting in the courtyard. It was overwhelming. Even the outside was every design on the old buildings in town.
But the inside... Even the spaces on the walls without exhibits were covered in large panels of text.
Our second stop was the Jeddah Fish Market. It was surprisingly good. The fish looks amazingly fresh and with a large variety and supply. In addition to the fish mongers, there was an area where you could take your fish and have it cleaned and filleted, etc.
Then we to the "Floating Mosque" which isn't floating, it's on piles. Then we stopped at the Jeddah sign along the road. I have no pictures of those.
Then it was a farewell lunch (unfortunately NOT fish.) But while waiting I booked dinner as our favorite Sushi Restaurant for Sunday night.
In Summary
This has been a great trip. My fellow travelers have been knowledgeable and interested in the things we were seeing. Our guides, locals, and others have been enthusiastic and ready to share their experiences and knowledge.
As a result, I've learned a lot about Saudi Arabia's past, present, and possible future.
This is my first AIA tour and it's exactly what I was hoping for; which makes me feel better about the other two I've already booked.
But, I'm also ready to go home to Cathie, and the cats, and even to the cold and the snow.

I can’t believe white evangelicals would rather have Saudi Arabia archaic barbaric way of living just so Black people, women and immigrants won’t gain and sustain equity that is beneficial to global humanity.
It’s like white Anglo Saxon’s Christianity was all just postering to seize and maintain power.
Yo shoutout budman w the fuego from mx. on Jah.
Also also, no disrespect to Islamic nations where human rights, civil rights, and gender equality is not treated/weaponized like the west are invading by governments and militias whos very placement of power and possession of weapons are from the very boogeymen and monsters and satanic places that they scare other off with.
If I’m gonna dance with a devil, I’m gonna dance with the one that will at least let me without stoning and barefoot and pregnant impending doom and danger.
*puts out cigarette* *spillage of opinion and feeling finished*
#and Saudi Arabia just bought their way into champions league#would love to have seen Iran and Afghanistan and Iraq before mad men ran it before even madder men invaded it#still got Oman and Jordan on the bucket list#i pray I to get to send my mom to that Israeli religious tour trip
