1: Handheld, console or PC?

I’ve always played on a console (xbox specifically) but I do acknowledge that PC is pretty much the way to go these days. I just don’t have the money to buy a gaming pc/all the steam games I would inevitably get, and I’m too attached to my xbox gamerscore :L

4: Top three video games? (I’m gonna other than ME and DA cause duh)

The Halo series is definitely the one closest to my heart, even more so than any Bioware game. I’ve just been with it for so long, ever since the first game came out when I was 6 and it was my first fandom and I’m pretty sure it played a part in my boyfriend and I getting together. 

Life is Strange is FANTASTIC and I think it’s definitely up at the top for me.

Aaaaand...the Elder Scrolls series, I suppose. Another one that’s been with me for a looooong time.

9: Favourite game within your favourite series?

Halo 4, definitely. Oddly enough, it’s kind of the most hated game in the series but I love it so much more than the others. The story is amazing, the music is incredible (no seriously I mean it, go listen to it) and the multiplayer was actually my favorite. Anyone that hates that game, you’re a butt and stop telling me how much it sucks >o

19: Favourite video game hero?

Okay, Mass Effect wins out here. Definitely FemShep. She’s universally badass, her voice gives me...feelings, she’s a redhead (at least mine is), she’s a sniper (at least mine is) and best of all, she’s all of these things while having a vagina, so super relatable.

26: Most disappointing video game you've played?

OMG HALO 5. Not enough Chief, way too much of a character I give zero shits about, they put 3 of my favorite characters of the franchise in the games FINALLY and did absolutely nothing new with them, the story made no sense, the friendly AI were janky as shit, they completely fucked up Cortana, they made multiple tedious boss fights, and NOT ENOUGH CHIEF. Sure, there are some pretty cool aspects of it, and the multiplayer is pretty bomb, but it’s not enough to make up for the story imo.

30: What aspect of a video game is most important to you - eg graphics, storyline, soundtrack, controls?

It’s a tie between story and graphics. Unfortunately, I have a hard time overlooking super dated/just plain terrible graphics. If I know the story is good enough, I can usually overlook it, as was the case with the first 2 DA games, but if it’s got an okay story and bad graphics, I’m out. Also achievements. If a game doesn’t have achievements, I am 50-80% less likely to play it.

Mari stands shyly in the corner, wishing she had the courage to ask Rumor for a kiss.

Callum nudges Rumor, nodding to the corner with an encouraging smile. Rumor’s blue eyes follow his nod, a wider smile crossing her face as she notes the shyness. She nudges Callum, and he nods again, turning to begin a loud conversation with the others, drawing attention away as one of Kirkwall’s spy-masters saunters over to where Mari stands alone.

“Hard to ask in front of everyone, isn’t it?” she murmurs, gently teasing her slender fingers between Mari’s to stroke her thumb over the other woman’s knuckles. “Sometimes, though, there’s no need to ask.”

She flashes another confident smile, rising up on her toes to touch a soft kiss to the corner of Mari’s mouth - something perhaps more intimate than was entirely called for, but no less an offering of sweetness for all that. One kiss follows another, fuller this time, and one last touched to the tip of the shy Hawke’s nose.

Rumor winks above her smile as she draws back. “Wasn’t so bad, was it?”

Quarantine Questionnaire

Are you staying home from work/school?

Yes, it’s been three weeks that I am working from home. I am an engineer, and at this time of the year most of the work we do is usually design, estimates, and specification writing - so it’s office work.

That being said, I have a minor case of ADHD, so the breaking of the boundaries of Work and Home destroyed my productivity. I’ve mostly adapted by now, but it still doesn’t feel right to work from somewhere my brain doesn’t see as a place of work.

If you’re staying home, who’s there with you?

My spouse, their mother, and our cat. Their mother as an elderly dog, but I barely interact with him. My spouse and our cat is all company I could wish for, to be honest. Being able to spend the day with them is definitely being a plus.

Are you a homebody?

Oh, yes! In fact, this social distancing times is being great for me to have a reason not to go out. I love it! Also, it’s allowing me to power through my Dragon Age fan comic project, Anathema. In fact, I released a Sneak Peak on the first three pages of Chapter #2 not long ago.

What movies have you watched recently?  What shows are you watching?

No movies. I’m not much of a movie person. Series, though! My spouse and I devoured the fourth season of Money Heist last Friday as soon as it got released, and we’re re-watching The Office in the evenings.

An event you were looking forward to that got cancelled?

Not events per se - I’ve had a huge milestone at work be cancelled, as well as another huge immigration milestones for in-laws. Also, I had a friend who was coming to spend the Summer in Newfoundland with us, and now she’s had to postpone - maybe even cancel the plans.

Events, though? Not really.

What music are you listening to?

Mostly established playlists I already had on Spotify. John + Junia’s playlist, of course, is a staple as I work on Anathema.

What are you reading?

Nooooothing! I really, really should read more. I tried finding some comics online to read as means of studying for Anathema, but I still didn’t find anything quite along the lines I’d like to learn from. 

And on the video-game, I’m replaying some games of the Assassin’s Creed series, as well as playing the ones from the Ezio saga I didn’t play before. The #2 and #3 on his saga should arrive in the mail any day now.

What are you doing for self-care?

I am doing only self-care. Me and the house are one, and honestly, this is being a major time of healing for me. Working from home is not ideal, but not having to leave for anything else? There are a few things I like doing outside, but not being able to go out far outweighs, in a positive way, the losses from like, one or two things I’d like to go outside to.

i actually started writing up some codex entries for my da ocs recently, just for the hell of it. inspired by this post.

this one is a journal entry by the cook about wren trevelyan. she references other ocs of mine too. (“inquisitor” being mariah trevelyan, “herald” being lilac trevelyan, and “qunari mage” being mel adaar!)

That Trevelyan mage girl, Wren, visits me far too often. You’d think she was feeding the whole army with the amount of food she requests. Pies for the Inquisitor, cake for the Herald, even scraps to make cookie dough for that blonde elf and the qunari mage. I suppose it would be endearing if I wasn’t already working overtime to feed the guests. Frankly, if she asks me for one more pastry, I might lose my temper. Although, one thing I must praise her for is keeping our commander fed. I think he’s eaten more meals in the past week than he has since we arrived at Skyhold weeks ago. She obviously cares for him—makes me wonder if he cares back. Perhaps I’ll ask around next time I see a group of soldiers. Surely they must have some idea.
