Tadashi Hamada Fanfiction (Big Hiro ) Chapter 4
Tumblr media
“Tadashi, what about this one?”
“Oh that goes here.”
He took the tool from your hand, placing it in a drawer. Tadashi stood placing his hand on his hips.
“This place is starting to look like an actual lab.” You joked. Tadashi chuckled.
“Thanks again for helping.” You just brushed it off.
“You always help me ace my exams, it’s the least I can do.”
It was one of the rare days where Tadashi was able to get some cleaning done. You kept nagging him to clear his space to avoid breaking or crashing into items. He’d managed to rope you into assisting. Now after organizing most of his stuff, you took a seat on his couch. Tadashi dropped down right next to you letting out a breath. He sent you a look and you raised a brow.
“Is there something on my face?” You tugged at your hair to inspect.
“Not at all, it's just your eyes.”
“What about my eyes?”
“They're beautiful.”
You flush at the compliment.
“Umm, thank you.” Now you were playing with your hair for a completely different reason.
“I’m really glad I found out about you. I know you didn’t plan for it to happen. But I guess it feels nice to be the only one who knows."
You’re glad he knows too. It wasn’t easy. There were times where you felt like you were living two separate identities. Not everyone would have taken it as well as Tadashi has.
“Don’t go getting a big head.” You tease. He just sends you that smile.
“I’ll try not to.”
The silence settles, and he continues to look at you. It’s starting to make you a little nervous. Your heart has increased significantly to the point that you can hear it thumping in your ears. The best choice is to breathe and let it pass. But when you do, you catch another whiff of Tadashi.
Now you can’t help but ask.
“Hey Tadashi, do you wear some special type of cologne?”
It’s clear that he’s a little puzzled by the question. Your nose is sensitive to a lot of things. Usually you can identify scents from a mile away. But Tadashi’s has always been a mystery to you.
“Not really. Sometimes Aunt Cass would give me brands for my birthday, But I usually just wear it to make her happy. “ He grins.
“I haven’t worn any in a while though.” With how busy he is sometimes, it’s not a surprise.
“Why? Do I smell?”
He sniffs himself and you shake your head.
“You don’t necessarily smell, you just have this distinctive scent. It’s like pine and something else. “ You lean closer, taking a sniff.
“I’m not sure what it is but it’s good.”
There have been a number of times where you’d purposely get closer just to be surrounded by his smell. It was hard to explain.
“Do you sniff me a lot?”
You blush, and he reads you like a map.
“You have!!”
“I-It’s not my fault you smell so good!”
That was not what you’d planned to say.
Tadashi smirks.
“Well anytime you need a whiff just let me know.”
You stand.
“I’m going back to my dorm.”
“Wait, I'm just kidding.” He’s laughing as he follows you to the door and you glare weakly.
“You’re lucky Hamada.”
“I know I am. I’ve got my own personal guardian to look after me.”
He sends you one of those charming smiles and you mentally scowl. He’s so effortlessly cute that it’s kind of annoying. You know that’s just the way he is. Which is both sweet and infuriating.
You need to be more careful around him. He’s starting to pick up on things you’ve tried really hard to hide.

Tadashi Hamada Fanfiction (Big Hiro 6) - Chapter 2
Tumblr media
It’s no surprise when he sees very little of you for the remainder of the week.
After you’d changed in his lab that day, he barely got a word out before you were rushing off. He even chased after you, but the second he’d gotten outside the university, it was like you disappeared. He didn’t miss that look you wore. Like you were embarrassed, or ashamed.
That’s why he now stood outside your biology class. If you wouldn’t come to him, he’d have to find you.
The class dispersed, and he straightened from his spot on the wall, moving closer. You had a book in your hand. Maybe he imagined it, but he swore he saw you sniff the air. Your head shot up, and he could see the panic on your face. The area had pretty much cleared, and the second you tried to take off, Tadashi grabbed your hand gently.
“Please.”
He was pleading.
Begging.
“Please don't run away from me.”
You pulled your hand away, and Tadashi’s eyes fell.
“I’m sorry (Y/N).”
It’s obvious that you no longer wanted anything to do with him. But he couldn’t just throw away a year of friendship. It was impossible.
Hands tightening on your books, you finally looked at him.
“Why did you come after me?”
He looks almost offended at the question.
“Did you really think I was just going to drop you?”
A part of you believes that is what this is. He’s come to say that he no longer wants this friendship. You’re not human. That is just something he can’t see past.
“It wouldn’t be the first time.”
The hurt you show is painful to watch. Until recently most things to him could have been proved by science. People turning into wolves, that was strictly for entertainment. But he’d seen it with his own eyes and he still couldn’t wrap his head around it.
“I wouldn’t blame you Tadashi.”
He doesn’t believe it. You’re reassuring him. Maybe he needs to approach this differently.
“If you believe that I know too much about this secret, then I’ll respect your decision. I won’t bother you.” He can see you doing an evaluation in your head. He takes another step.
“But if our friendship in any way is still intact, then I’d like to be a part of your life. Every part.”
He stresses the last two words, and he can see the light return to your beautiful orbs. The ones he’d been able to spot, regardless of your form. You smile, and Tadashi is stunned when you move forward, wrapping your arms around his neck as you hug him tightly. He’s still for a few moments, but then he mirrors your joy, holding on.
“Thank you.”
It’s a whisper, and he lets out a soft sigh.
It was good to have his friend back.

Tadashi Hamada Fanfiction (Big Hiro 6) - Chapter 3
Tumblr media
You both have gravitated back to his lab.
Right to the place where it all happened.
“So uh…”
He rubs the back of his neck. You’ve known him long enough to pick up on his little ticks. Somehow your mind constructed the idea that he’d change overnight. That those warm brown eyes would show hate instead of the care that you’ve seen whenever you’re around him.
“I’m not really sure what to ask.”
He lets out a little laugh.
You take a seat, and Tadashi does the same, sitting right next to you. He stares, and you fidget. You’d assume he’d been more weary, but he’s curious. All of his reactions are a bit unexpected.
“Why aren’t you afraid of me?” You blurt out.
He internalizes the question. It’s not your intention to be so blunt. The last thing you want is to scare him off, or make him question you. But it’s been your experience that not everyone was so welcoming of beings they could not comprehend.
“I guess I just know that you’d never hurt me.”
He says it so easily.
“Don’t get me wrong, when you jumped me it scared the crap out of me.” He laughs again, and you smile.
“He so stupidly honest.”
One of the qualities you’ve always adored.
“I’d never hurt you Tadashi.”
That look on his face softens, and he reaches over, giving your hand a squeeze.
“I know that.”
He appreciates the reassurance. He knows it’s more for you than him.
You feel so weirdly relaxed. This was going better than you thought.
“I’m a guardian.”
You explain.
His curiosity returns tenold.
“A guardian?”
You nod.
“My family comes from a long line of protectors. Originally we were spirits used to guide and defend. There’s a lot of folklore of other guardians like Kyubi, Fae and even Kitsune. All immortal. We aren’t like what the fairy tales portray. Unfortunately the gene isn’t always predictable. It’s been known to skip generations.”
“But you’re one.”
“I am.”
Your father said it was a blessing. When you first changed it didn’t feel like much of a blessing.
“You said guardian, what exactly do you protect?”
“Lost spirits. We help the ones that linger on move unto the afterlife. If they stay too long, then they become tainted and regretful. We help them find peace.”
“Wow…”
His astonishment is hard to hide.
“My parents..”
You swallow. This question is one you should have predicted.
“I..I helped them to move on.” You confess. He just stares.
“For a few years they were watching over you and Hiro.”
Truthfully, that was how you’d met the boys. You’ve always been able to separate your charges from your personal feelings. But the bond you’d felt between parent and child wasn’t the easiest to let go.
“The night we met, it was because of your parents.”
Now that he knows of your identity, you no longer have to hide the truth.
“I promised your mother that I would do my best to look after your brother. Both of them were worried. He was so young when they died. He never experienced the memories you did. She wanted him to live a full life doing something important. Making a difference with his gifts, the same way you’ve always done.”
A single tear runs down his cheeks, and he catches himself, using his sleeve to dry his eyes.
“I-I’m sorry I didn’t say anything. I wasn’t trying to trick you. I just thought that it would be impossible for me to explain how I-”
“You don’t have to explain yourself.”
His eyes are still shielded from you. So you can’t hope to read him. However, when he finally looks up, his appreciation is instant.
“I guess a part of me always knew how much you cared about him. You were always there to stop him from doing something stupid.”
“You’re not mad.”
Tadashi shook his head.
“I’d never be mad at you for being a great friend (Y/N).”
Tadashi has continued to surprise you.
Hearing him say that is a gift in itself.
“I can’t believe I was best friends with a freaking superhero and I had no idea!”
You shift bashfully.
“I-I’m not a hero.”
In a lot of ways this was your job. One that you’d come to love. There were times that it did take a toll on your relationships. You didn’t enjoy lying to your friends. But having them think you’re crazy wasn’t fun either.
“So why aren’t you always a wolf? You look strangely human.”
“In the past that form helped my ancestors carry out their jobs easier. White wolves were seen as mystic beings that lived in the mountains defending nature. They weren’t bothered. As the times changed, our abilities grew and the future generations found other ways to help spirits pass on. Depending on where I am, this wolf form is useful. The last day of every month is when my form manifests. That’s why I’ve always been very prudent on the times where I’m around you."
He figures that much out now.
“It looked pretty painful when you did that, does it hurt?”
“A little. It’s similar to cramps I guess. My body is used to it. I’m usually in a more controlled environment when it happens. Last time was unexpected."
His mind trails back and he flushes. It dawns on him that for who knows how many hours, your naked body was pressed to him. His face heats up just at the memory. You tilt your head.
“Are you alright Tadashi?”
“Of course!”
Not very convincing.
“His heart is racing.”
You try to pinpoint the source, but you aren’t a mind reader. Your nose tingles, and the sweet smell that fills the air has you covering your ears that begin to twitch.
Tadashi is now the one that appears lost.
“Did something happen?” He asks.
“You..”
Maybe you should have told him that your senses were unlike any human.
“Sorry it’s just..when you get really happy you release these pheromones. They take a while to get used to.”
When he’d first cracked the code with Baymax he’d release similar pheromones. However this time it’s a little different. More potent.
“You can smell my pheromones?”
You nod, releasing your ears when they’re under control.
“I can hear and smell a lot. My entire biological makeup is ten times stronger than the average human.”
That’s good to know.
Now he needs to be more careful. There were certain feelings he’d prefer you’d not know about.
“T-That’s something.”
He’s laughing a bit nervously and you send him a little smile.
“You’re really weird Hamada.”
“Hey!!”
“In a good way.”
“That’s better.”
“Maybe,”
You grin, and he shoves you playfully.
