The Birth of the Hero Chrysididae!

A student film premiers, a lost heiress in enraged at the perceived betrayal of her sponsor, classmates, family and even oldest friend.

Why she wonders, why do these things keep happening to me?

It is a question she had wondered before but only rarely, too often it was too easy to find some enemy to blame, or her own lack of exceptional talent.

But on this day, when she reflects on Gabriel Agreste's souless stare from the tablet, something clicks.

He did this on purpose.

Like one domino hitting another, it sets off a chain of memories and with them a realization.

On what was to be Adrien's first day of school, the first Akuma appears, despite the fact that surely other teenagers were embarrassed or angered.

This should have scared Adrien and compelled him to stay home, but no.

So it is again with Stoneheart, but somehow, for some reason he chooses Chloe as a victim despite nearly every member of class being terrified and enraged, despite his intent to be to confess his love to Mylene.

He still takes the time to kidnap Chloe, who was the instigator of Adrien's rebellion.

This would be her first near death, but not the last.

Lady Wifi would come next, suitably aggrieved perhaps but to what purpose? Hawk Moth of all people should know Chloe could not have been Ladybug, so there needs to be another motive, one to target the girl and not a presumed hero.

Ah yes, punishing her for helping Adrien slip his grasp.

Evilillustrator, would be next, neglecting the humiliation and abuse his teacher subjected him to in favor or murdering a girl for a snide comment regarding his crush.

Now you might say, what of Roger, Rose, Juleka and Kim?

But remember, even an Akuma will not go against the deep and abiding instincts of its source human. Their loved one's may be in endangered on accident or in a deranged bit to assist them.

But never would they be intentionally harmed.

In this same vain, a man who believes wholeheartedly in his duty to be of service to the community, a girl whose most malevolent self only wanted a dream wedding, a girl who wished to be seen and a boy who wished for love to disappear.

All Akuma that either would not or could not kill by their nature or that of their powers. They would be insufficient for breaking the girl who defied him.

Antibug is where things begin to change.

Convinced that her beloved idol hated her just as her mother always had, Chloe began to break. So much so she could not avoid his Akuma this time.

Able to defeat Chat Noir and a fair match for Ladybug she was one of the stronger Aluma. Not in the upper echelons like Style Queen or Sanboy, but worth stoking over the coals for an even greater reaction.

Speaking of Style Queen, you may question why Gabriel would allow his son, who has so far avoided all harm from any Akuma to be struck low.

I remind you that while his control is great it is not infinite. I would add that not only does Hawk Moth's ego outstrip his control but so too does his scheming.

Why snub the notoriously angry Style Queen? Why would Nathalie, an otherwise sensible woman go along with the insult. Only to see him retract it the next day? Why was Gabriel who has refused to leave his manor in all other attacks absent when the Style Queen invaded his home?

Why if not for the fact he sought to make Style Queen and with Mayura's help could do so. But she was not enough alone, but her presence would bring about inspiration for his newest scheme.

It would bring about Queen Wasp.

But first, you may question why Gabriel would allow his son, who has so far avoided all harm from any Akuma to be struck low. I remind you that while his control is great it is not infinite, and would go further and note how strange it is that Gabriel would be absent from his manor.

He would not leave during any other Akuma attack, yet the this one? How odd, lest

Murdered by her mother the day before, then rejected by her yet again, mind on the edge of snapping she orchestrated her own self destruction and from the wreckage crawled the first Akumatized Miraculous User.

For we cannot call her a hero.

Who was the next Akuma, but her own father. His intent with her just as it was with his wife, to keep her in Paris for his own pleasure at her expense. Conveniently ensuring Hawk Moth's new muse could not slip the leash she did not even know was fastening around her neck.

Just as hoped it would see, she was chosen this time to wield a Miraculous and she would be chosen again on Heroes' Day. Hawk Moth's only known effort to Akumatize others rather than letting the people of Paris do his work for him.

This was where we first saw sign of Mayura and to any who have been wondering. Yes, this is why The Collector & Simon Says mean so little. There was always a hidden second who could have commanded the Akuma, and if not, paint a target on his back from a target so far away that the here's would surely arrive in time.

With Mayura's arrival came a new wave of terror, not just for Paris but Chloe in particular.

Don't believe me, I do not blame you, but it is the truth.

Over the months following Heroes Day, battle after battle would be fought before the former Miraculous Holder. Always in front of her home where the Bee Signal shone, always to see her rejected by her idol.

From this came Miracular.

Close, but not close enough, Chloe resister the Akum, but Sabrina could not and within moments of Chat's arrival Mayura was upon them.

The villains had been waiting, a clear signal they had been observing her for sometimes, a clear signal of their continued interest.

Especially given, despite the months of absence, the moment it was necessary, Queen Bee flew again. Even as Ladybug swore this would be the last time as she doubtlessly had done for the last two months of battle.

Only to change her mind as needs demanded it.

But do not think her egotistical my witnesses. It was not merely Chloe who was targeted but another as well.

Marinette Dupain Cheng. A girl who has yet to be Akumatized, who holds a disdain for liars and seeks truth. Such an ideal recipe for an Akuma that could force Ladybug & Chat Noir into the light.

Thus it was, she'd be framed for cheating, theft and assault before her classmates by one Lila Rossi. Perhaps this would not convince you alone but I ask.

How did Hawk Moth know the class he has so often predated on, the class which contains Adrien Agrest, if he did not have a hand in this event?

This was not the first time Lila was used as such. Whispering sweet lies into Chloe's ears about how to summon Ladybug but leaving her humiliated instead.

Has she not done the same with others? Kagami for instances.

Decaying day by day, and nightmare by nightmare, Miracle Queen approached and this is where it all comes together.

Her feuding parents presenting with a garment both ugly and enraging that binds them together by a man who proclaims himself a designer.

An Akuma on the scene in mere moments, to combine them into one. The parents turned against the child enough to harm her yet again, but kept from devouring her. Finally, the Bee Signal sabotaged.

Why this family, why this girl even before the Miraculous? Who would know her well enough to orchestrate such targeted strikes against her psyche? What man has the motive, resources and insight to break Chloe Bourgeois?

Why its the same man whose beloved assistant fell ill at the same time as Mayura vanished from the field of battle. Its the same man who had a hand in the transformation of Style Queen & Heart Hunter. It is the same man who promised a desperate girl a movie, only to rip it away with a subtle smile. Knowing his Akuma would find her soon.

But he was not ready for me, or in a way, for her.

Chloe Bourgeois, the girl you knew, no longer exists. She had no desire to anymore, more than Hawk Moth saw to that.

What she did desire was to prove she was more than a Super Disaster and means by which to free her from the role long since assigned to her.

For the latter, came a Sentimonster not long for this world. Its power exorcising that malevolent miasma of Hawk Moth. But even as it was destroyed the creatures magic did as it was bid.

For his voice had gone silent, the rage faded and the Akuma was taken into more than this mere suit but into the skin, to course through her blood and bury itself in her marrow.

Now I emerge from the girl that was once Chloe Bourgeois with three purposes.

To tell the world of Gabriel's crimes, to defeat Hawk Moth, and be an exceptional Hero.

I am Chrysididae and for what its worth, I am sorry.

Pretty much yeah!

Yeah exactly, a loner might be stealth inclined or just have tons of raw power and durability, but the general idea is they can get by alone. While Groupers are not that strong (relatively speaking) and tend to have broadly similar methods, IE, transforming others or environments to aid them. Style Queen is a one woman army, Darkblade has an army in the purest sense.

Fun aside, Reflekta is an example of a weak loner, because her power basically lets her ensure there's always a hundreds of her to target. Essentially turning any battle into Where's Reflekta. Not sure what prolonged transformations might do to a person though.

But yeah, they don't tend to get along great.

Mhm, yeah there'd definitely be some gangs, packs and the like, be it for companionship, complementary skills, or even just grudging necessity.

Also yeah could definitely see that, Syren & Style Queen may not want to interact but Princess Fragrance's wedding conquests have fucked up their stomping grounds. ((Or something like that XD))

Mhm, true, true, Sanboy's an example of a very disruptive Loner, he can't control the nightmares he creates but like hell anyone wants to bother the kid in his abode either.

While there are many breeds, castes, genotypes or what have you type of Imago, there are two broad categories they all tend to fall under.

Iconoclasts/Dreadnoughts, or the Controllers/Conquerors

The Dreadnoughts are in essence, lone predators, the hunters, killers, the fighters. They do not naturally make Pupae, or Hives nd some may even struggle to make a Nymph or to infest others, though they can.

They are however, obscenely, deadly.

Some have very big expressions of their power, like Syren flooding Paris, but even more subtle displays like Antibug being a solid match for Chat Noir in a fight would be a good example. There's no uniform metric of power, so some Iconoclasts radically outweigh their rivals.

But in the broad strokes, these Imago would probably be compared to tigers or dragons, they may not have a hive but their nest is huge, they may not have Drones, but they don't need them. Usually.

Now for the opposite side of the coin!

The Conquerors are like Princess Fragrance or Darkblade. They are Imago who aren't necessarily 'weak', but whose greatest strength comes from changing the environment or people around them to their advantage.

These one's are the Imago that risk it becoming an epidemic.

These Imago creates nests easily, which can quickly become hives which can evolve into colonies. They tend to corrupt, influence or, in fitting with their type, control others and create from them drones & more.

These are the eusocial Imago of the world, they can organize in large groups, they don't fight alone unless they have to, and have a major effect on their environment to say the very least!

Notes:

I imagine there can be a bit of a middle ground, as we know some Akuma can work well together and or work best with support. These Imago probably form packs or gangs, and could even be said to engage in Mutualism. But again, lots of big personalities, this doesn't always work.

Ironically, the Controllers/Conqueror would gain the most from a willingness to work with others. But by their nature they tend to be very controlling and egomaniacal even by Imago and Akuma standards so they struggle to make alliances, In contrast, most Iconoclasts/Dreadnaughts are more self assured and free wheeling but also don't often need support.

This is of course a broad strokes, Style Queen can't work well with others and doesn't want to, while Zombisu could be fairly collaborative & diplomatic.

As said, these are mostly just the overarching ideas, if you break it down further you'd have like, stealth one's poisoners, survivalist, hoarders, hunters and so on.

So Loners and Group occupy different sorts of niches, then.

Loners tending more towards roles that enable them to stand by themselves, while Groupers lean towards more commanding and controlling roles.

The two are rarely compatible.

And yeah, there's definitely those that fall in between, forming small groups and gangs and such.

Some are on a temporary basis, others more permanent. Or at least long-standing.

I think one thing that may cause the Loners to team up would be if a Grouper happened to cause a massive disruption to all of their individual routines.

Of course, even invoking the wrath of a single Loner can be quite disruptive.

I was thinking about Sanboy earlier this week and how season 4 is tackling and confronting our heroes with the very fears they had in this episode: and not only is this season forcing them to face them, they're also teaching our heroes to accept them, and showing them that they're not insurmountable.

Let's start with Ladybug:

Marinette's worst fear when she's in the middle of an akuma fight as Ladybug is to loose her powers. That would mean that she's in a position where she cannot directly act, and that she has to rely on someone else to protect herself and her miraculous.

We know that not being in control of a situation is something Marinette hates. She has troubles trusting others to do her job, but she's been learning to delegate this season, particularly to Alya. Season 4 put her directly in a position where she couldn't use her powers (worse, couldn't even communicate any plan) and had to rely on someone else to handle the situation in her place (here, Alya), and it was in Sentibubbler. And she has accepted (at least, partially, because she still takes too much on herself with her guardian duty and has trouble delegating, but that's something for later) that she could trust others to handle a situation for her: to the point of entrusting Alya with her miraculous in Hack San when she couldn't be in Paris.

Something tells me that the finale will bring this fear up once more: it's, after all, part of the conflict she's having with Chat Noir right now, for which instead of asking him for help as he's her partner, she prefers to keep everything to herself. If Sandboy were to be akumatised again, loosing her power as Ladybug might not be her worst fear anymore: failing at her guardian's duties, however? probable, and I'm curious if that's gonna be brought up in the finale and how (Marinette loosing her memories I am glaring at you)

Season 4 has forced Marinette to be in position where she didn't have the control and didn't have her powers, and shown her that it doesn't necessarily lead to a catastrophe, and she's learning to tame this fear

Now, Chat Noir:

Pretty straight forwards, as he's afraid that Ladybug considers him a burden and wants to get rid of him, that she hates him. Which once again is one of the problem in the Ladynoir conflict, as it's this very fear that grew in him to the point that he believed Ladybug didn't need him and worse, that she didn't want him as her partner and that she'd be better off without him. To the point that he gave up his miraculous in Kuro Neko.

I'm gonna repeat what lots of us have already been saying since this episode dropped, but Chat Noir was shown in Kuro Neko that no, he's not always needed, and that's fine: because more than that, he's wanted. And Ladybug's not gonna replace him or hate him if he's not indispensable in a fight.

He realised that as Catwalker, and it's now a fear he has control over, as he's learning to love himself for who he is and that others do to (including Ladybug). People who love him won't get rid of him

Now, Adrien and Marinette:

Reminder that their fear were to be trapped for Adrien, and to loose Adrien to someone else (in this case, Chloé) for Marinette. We can extend these fears to being controlled and forced into oppressing obligations for Adrien, and rejection for Marinette, both that are recurrent themes for them in the show that we're well aware of by now.

The finale summary tells us that Adrien will be forced to leave the city with Lila for a few weeks by Gabriel, and it raises the questions of whether Marinette will take a risk and confess to him, as she's faced with him leaving with not Chloé, but Lila (which is worse for her now than it was in Sandboy as she had mostly forgotten about Lila's existence), and whether Adrien will take the risk to stand up against his father, who's the very reason he's trapped all the time and who's trying to trap him into obligations that there's a high chance he doesn't want to do.

I might be reaching but it kinda sounds to me like they'll both have to face the very fears they were confronted with in Sandboy as their civilian selves as well. (especially in a finale named risk and strike back: you take risks facing these fears and you fight them off)

And I wouldn't be surprised if no matter what they chose on doing in this finale and whatever the consequences may be, that they'll get out of it stronger and with new self-confidence that'll help them in the future

okay, so here’s some characters that i think might be akumatized in the season four finale

1. chat noir

2. marinette

3. ladybug (ik they’re the same person but idk whether she would be akumatized as a superhero or as a civilian)

4. rena rouge

5. maybe chloe??? she could find out about zoe lying about the anti-akuma charm and then take it off and join shadowmoth for real now (i also feel like lila would somehow be involved in all this)

also i saw a tiktok saying that they hoped that the hundredth  episode would be sanboy 2.0

kinda seems like wishful thinking but i would love a sandboy 2.0

also, why do i feel like bunnyx is going to be involved in the finale?

or maybe season four will end with another heroes day situation but this time either chat noir or ladybug/marinette is akumatized along with everyone else

while i’m rambling i’d like to say that i think something’s going to happen to/with the miracle box

maybe a sentimonster or lila finds it and then marinette is frantically looking for it but they’re using it to distract her from something so that she’s out of commission and can’t help chat noir with the akuma

but my point is that whatever the season four finale ends up being its going to be a shit show

My theories on that scene from the Season 4 preview

When I saw the preview for 4, something that stood out to me (besides Shadow Moth’s hilarious look) is the scene where Alix, Alya, Mylene, Rose, and Juleka getting re-akuamatized. I have come up with several theories regarding the circumstances behind their akumatization, several of which I already shared in the form of asks @princess-of-the-corner and I would like to elaborate on them here (As u can only say so much in an ask), as well as provide some additional theories. 

1. Lila’s lies have successfully gotten the girls pissed at Marinette and/or Ladybug- admittedly, this one is the least likely from both a watsonian and doyelist standpoint. From a doylelist standpoint, I feel like the episode will be enough a re-hash of Felix and Ladybug without the whole “someone got the girls pissed at one of the heroes by framing one of the main characters” thing.  From a Watsonian standpoint, they probably already been informed of Lila’s ‘lying disease’ after the events of Ladybug, so Lila’s probably going to have a harder time getting people to believe her (because if someone told me that they had a lying disease that forces them to lie, I’d probably take any other claim with a grain of salt). 

2. The girls decided to have a meeting to discuss Lila’s disease and how they can help her, and when the girls started comparing notes regarding Lila’s stories (like saving Jagged Stone’s cat) and realized that even her claim about having a lying disease doesn't make sense (because if she was lying about Marinette stealing the test answers and necklace, then how did they wind up in her backpack and locker, and also shouldn't the faculty already been informed of Lila’s disease when she first came to school?). Their confusion regrading what’s true and what isn't, remorse for not listening to Marinette, and anger at Lila, draw an akuma which lands on them while they were holding hands as part of an attempt to comfort each other and calm down. Now unlike in Felix where Lady Wifi is the only akuma that makes sense in the context of “my friend sent us a mean message when we just trying to cheer him up,” most if not all of the returning akumas could easily be applied to the situation of the girls starting to see through Lila’s lies. I can practically hear Hawk Moth’s speech to them- “Timebreaker, you regret having trusted this liar over your own friend, so I‘m giving u the chance to go back in time to fix your mistake. Lady Wifi, I’m giving u back the power to expose her lies. Princess Fragrance, Lila Rossi used u and your friends as pawns, but now, you’ll be the one who controls her and everyone around her. Reflekta, this girl lied to make herself the center of attention, but it might be difficult for her to stand out if everyone looks the same. Horrificator, I’m giving you the power to make Lila feel as helpless as her past victims. In return, well you probably know the drill by now. Do we have a deal?” 

3. Verity Queen made them her knights- Mrs. Rossi runs into Marinette and Sabine and Lila’s lying disease is brought up and Mrs. Rossi is all “my daughter doesn't have a lying disease.” An argument ensues and draws an akuma, which lands on Sabine (who may have been taking the bullet for Marinette) and she becomes Verity Queen, who has a lasso of truth, She then uses her lasso of truth on Marinette (whom Sabine is most trusting of, but she felt Mrs. Rossi would only believe Marinette if she was under the influence of the lasso of truth), and Marinette confirms that she did not cheat or steal Lila’s necklace and that she Lila clammily walk down the stairs instead being pushed down. Verity Queen then asks Marinette why Lila would want to do this, Marinette replies that she was making good on her threat to turn everyone against her. Verity Queen is understandably pissed at Lila, so she leaves to go find Lila, taking Mrs. Rossi with her.  She can't find Lila, but she does manage to find Marinette’s friends, and after explaining to them what Marinette told her about Lila, turns them into her knights, which r their akumatized forms, and she sends them out to search for Lila. They manage to track Lila down and take her to the tv station, where Verity Queen is waiting and has already ‘knighted’ Nadja back into Prime Queen. Verity Queen then uses her lasso of truth to force Lila to admit all of her wrongdoings on live tv. 

4. Mrs. Rossi gets akumatized- Mrs. Rossi finally gets around to asking her colleagues what they should do about Ladybug’s incompetence. Mistaking this for a joke, the colleagues laugh their asses off. As they do so, Mrs. Rossi’s anger at not being taken seriously draws an akuma and here is Hawk Moth speech to her: “Red Queen, nobody but you cares about getting the akumas under control, so I’m giving u the power to do it yourself. In return, I ask that u bring me the miraculous of the heroes too incompetent to do it themselves. Do we have a deal.” The akumatized Mrs. Rossi replies “Time to show those how to do their jobs!” and becomes Red Queen who has the power to turn up to 16 people (I’m going for a chess motif here. Maybe I should call her White Queen instead) back into their akumatized forms (but she’s under the impression that they’re already in their akumatized forms) and control them. Among the people she turns back into akumas are Alix, Alya, Mylene, Rose, and Juleka. As for who the rest of the re-akuamitzed ‘pieces,’ hard to say (there r a lot to choose from). After de-akumatizing Mrs. Rossi, she explains what Lila told her, and the the heroes (which may include new ones, as in this scenario, Ladybug and Chat Noir are dealing with 16 villains, who will probably be more spread out throughout the city this time around) and former ‘chess pieces’ explain the truth  Mrs. Rossi, and one of the girls wonders if Lila’s ‘lying disease’ was acting up, and Mrs. Rossi is all like ‘what lying disease?” Yeah, Lila’s in big trouble. 

5. it’s just a stress-induced nightmare- it won't be the main focus of the episode, it will just be the opening scene to show how the pressure of being the new guardian is getting to her. This scenario is kinda boring.

6. Sandboy 2- Sandboy is back again, but similar to Gamer and Puppeteer, his powers have been modified. This time, instead of bringing people’s nightmares to life, he forces them into a deep sleep where they r forced to deal with nightmares they can’t wake up from (think the “Only a Dream” two-parter of Justice League, except that Sandboy can't enter anyone’s dreams). Among Sanboy’s victims is Marinette. Her nightmare (and possibly the episode, of the writer do that thing where they don't immediately reveal it’s a dream) begins with her friends disappointed with her for reason they refuse to explain and transform back into the akumatized forms and they go after her. In this nightmare, the re-akumtizations don't end with the ones seen the preview. One by one, everyone who has been akumatized turns back into their akuma form, ending with Chat Noir becoming Chat Blanc and then everyone screams at Ladybug/Marinette for falling them. She tries to summon her lucky charm, but it doesn't work. Then a nightmare version of Hawk Moth shows up and he sends an akuma Ladybug, who tries to dodge, only for Volpina to hold her down, and when Ladybug tries to resist the akumtization, all while letting out some of the most bloodcurdling screams in Christina Vee’s career. Meanwhile, in the real world, Tikki tries to wake up Marinette and when that fails, tries to remove her earrings so she can loan them to someone, but that fails too for whatever reason). So out of desperation, Tikki grabs one of the goat miraculous out of the miracle box and tracks down Marc. Tikki explains that Ladybug has been affected by Sandboy’s powers and need Marc’s help to save her). Marc then becomes the goat hero, whose power is astral projection (btw the idea of the goat’s power being astral projection was probably inspired by a fanfic called Capricorn by mico-j-ken, as Capricorn has similar powers. The fanfic in in fan fiction.net if anyone wants to read it). Goat! Marc then uses his powers to enter Marinette’s dreams, to let her know’s just a dream and also give her a much-needed pep talk. Marinette wakes up and transform into Ladybug, and defeats Sandboy. When Marc tries to give the goat miraculous back to Ladybug, she tell him to keep it, explaining that this experience made her realize that there will be situations that she won't be able to get out of with our help. As a sidenote, Marc may or may not have figured out Ladybug’s secret identity (depending on how careful Tikki, such as asking Goat! Marc to close his eyes while she lead Marc to Marinette) and may have found out about Lila’s bitchery via Nightmare!Lila monologging about making good on her threat against Marinette as Goat!Marc was entering Marinette nightmare. 

What do u guys think? Which scenario do think is the coolest and/or most likely?
