The Fuckery.

That shitty HVAC company in San Antonio that has held up this fucking project for the last 2 months (plus the 10 month struggle) before that…are just fuckwits.

At the end of August they told us the equipment was ordered. However, they still hadn’t signed their contract with the GC. They don’t really work with GC’s and didn’t like the “you’ll get paid, when we get paid” clause in the contract.

New flash fuckos, that’s how it works.

Now they have admitted the equipment has not been ordered, will not know how long it will take to get here, and need $617K to order said equipment.

This is a $2M project for them, and I’m getting the feeling that they have never replaced equipment of this size before.

I really miss working on proper projects, with actual professionals providing the architectural and engineering aspect. All in conjunction with the ownership’s best interest in mind.

No. Now I have to deal with the horse shit repair/ replace projects at horse racing tracks. Not to mention bumble fuck repair and maintenance companies trying to play in the big boy sandbox.

La folle épopée Aline del corazon al mundo!

5 mois plus tard et pourtant, c’est comme si c’était hier! Nous revoici sur les traces d’Aline, mais cette fois nous avons troqué l’infernal hiver québécois pour le chaud soleil d’Andalousie.

Le plan de match: plonger au cœur même de cette histoire d’amour improbable.

Prospectus en main, on ne sera pas déçue du voyage!

Petit bémol : la chronologie n’est pas du tout respectée! On passe de la demande en mariage, au casino, à la lune de miel en passant par la crise cardiaque. Non vraiment importe quoi! De plus, on se retrouve avec la même guide qu’à Montréal!!

Premier arrêt: y’a de l’amour dans l’air!

Resto El Jardin et les abords de la cathédrale où le pauvre GC fait de son mieux pour faire croire à Aline que l’âge ça compte alors que tout le monde sait que l’âge osef!

C’est devant la belle cathédrale de Naples (lol) que GC fait la grande demande. Stepettes sur la fontaine devant Antonio et sa femme qui captent rien parce que Jean-Bobin harcèle la pauvre madame avec son « biscuito » en simili italien. 🤦‍♀️ Hey même la guide avait l’air mêlée 🤣.

C’est là que le fun commence. Parce qui dit mariage dit nuit de noce rrrrrrrrrr !!! Le grand hôtel Miramar (5 ⭐️ GL… que nous avons changé pour MG… mieux goût) a gentiment accepté de nous ouvrir ses portes (gentiment ou à boutte de se faire gosser par notre guide ça s’pas encore clair). A nous la magnifique Suite Deluxe Sea qui n’a fait que nous rappeler la pauvreté de notre Airbnb.

Retour sur la plage avec Miguel en tête. Était-il dans le film? Non, mais il aurait dû!! Aline aurait peut-être changé de mari!!! Il est trop beau!! Mais ne nous égarons pas. La plage donc pour un petit snack de 55 grillades 🍖 question de faire une crise cardiaque en compagnie de GC.

L’excursion se termine au casino. Parce que la scène où madame Dieu mère pète une coche à GC au sujet de la vertu de sa fille reste iconique!

(Est-ce qu’on avait le droit de prendre des photos dans le casino? Nooooon!! Est-ce qu’on en a pris pareil? Évidemment! Méthode québécoise!)

Par contre, la chance ne sourit pas à tout le monde! Nous sommes reparties avec respectivement 0,24€ et 0,39€ et une mini crise cardiaque d’avoir perdu le portable alors qu’il était bien rangé dans le sac à main!! Trop émotion!

Les excursions Ascle Adventures tiennent à remercier @edith1962 de nous avoir faire encore une fois confiance pour ses vacances.

When you are on a bipolar manic, making grilled cheese sandwiches is a sort of forced meditation. You have to keep the heat to get the cook just right, you can't leave or really do anything else withou risking distraction and buring dinner. So you have to wait --sweat it out at the stove top-- at least in my case because we have one working air conditioner and it isn't in the front rooms. Nope, we have to tuck ourselves away in the bedroom during the day. Sans air conditioning means the near total shut down of the house; no television, barely any lights, and only the cats dumb enough to hang out in the heat as my only conversational companions. And this heat? I am from the San Antonio, Texas area. Today (7/12/2023) we hit 104 degrees, feeling like 112 degrees.

Stillness. So as not to lose focus on the food. Sweat--to keep my pores clean. Butter--to clog my pores again. Too hot to leave the house. Too dark this late at night to leave the house in case I run into trouble on the road... and with nowhere to go since nearly everything closes at nine or ten.

I am left with only an oven door and my imagination; pretending to hold on to the cheap seat bar of a roller coaster car. And I am terrified of roller coasters. Yet, I am believable enough to convinve myself my seat rattles and my ears are deaf with the hollaring winds of motion and the shrieks of the poor sap in front of me. Until the door creaks and someone walks in, breaking the sad excuse of a spell.

I tried using the dishwasher door handle, but opening it up on an incline was a bitch. The oven opens up much easier, especially on the jerky turns.

A whole lot of love and a whole loaf of bread; I get stuck with an odd number of sandwiches. How upsetting. One lightbulb and the ventilator hood light over the stove top... Looking around in this hazy-lit mess of a kitchen, I involuntarily assign myself up for kitchen duty tomorrow morning. In this sad lighting, my gc's look awesome. Let's see what comes to light.

hi! sorry if this is random but i showed ur tags on that capital of australia post into a gc being like "haha isnt it funny that all these texas cities sound like frat boy names" but then someone said "wait but ive never heard of tyler" and then i realised ive also never heard of tyler and then the only american on the gc confirmed shed also never heard of it. so i looked it up and its number 38 by population???? so what i am DYING to know is ur reasoning for putting it in the dallas / houston category (instead of smth like san antonio or even fort worth or arlington) if its literally the 38th biggest city. do u have some personal ties to tyler or is it famous for smth within the us or????

i live in texas and tyler is the closest big city to me so i assumed it was well known in other states 😭

like its an hour away so whenever i go there its like a day trip and we go to a bunch of stores and stuff

i just kinda thought everyone knew of it since its got the caldwell zoo and its got like a huge rose garden but not that i think abt it canton (where i live) is probably more well known than tyler since it has the biggest flea market in the world and all lol

TRADICIÓN ORAL SOBRE LA NECRÓPOLIS DE MERENDAGA (ARTEARA)

La Necrópolis de Merendaga (Arteara) es el cementerio indígena de mayor entidad de la isla de Gran Canaria, tanto en extensión como en número de inhumaciones, ocupa un espacio de 137.570 m2 y alberga 809 estructuras tumulares, con enterramientos individuales y colectivos. En cuanto a la cronología, una datación obtenida en este yacimiento ofrece la fecha del siglo V a. C., (Unos 2500 años de uso).

El pueblo de Arteara, localidad inmediata a la necrópolis, conserva noticias y datos relacionados con este antiguo cementerio de canarios:

«Este cementerio, no muy antiguo no aparenta ser; yo lo vi toda la vida. Ahí se enterraron una vez una gente, yo me acuerdo, cuando chiquitita, tendría seis o siete años, se encaIló un barco que venía cargado de millo y de gente y se murieron dos o tres; el farista mandó a buscar más gente para que lo ayudaran, porque antes no había nada más que pastores. Al lado del faro vivían unos primos de mi madre. Y, después, los trajeron y los enterraron aquí arriba en el cementerio de los canarios. Y después, sacaron el millo, hicieron unos tajitos así y se sembraron el millo para que se secara, para después vendérselo a la gente allí. Yo fui con mi madre y una burra grande que tenía a por millo y trajimos dos sacos de millo, que nos avisaron poque estaba barato. The Truth of The Matter…

Part of me feels rather guilty for not solving any major problems while I’m working on this project.

Last week was 4.5 full days of babysitting, and the only issue I helped resolve was broken pavers. This week will be 2 full days of babysitting, and there’s no power here anyway.

Plus, we (Corporate) took this over from the property and hired a GC, to babysit. We are doubling down on the babysitting. Not to mention an Electric Company that really knows what they’re doing out here.

I feel guilty that I haven’t done much of anything and next month will be paid a large invoice.

I guess that’s what large corporations do.

I might be feeling this way when I do this all over again next year when the (2) new transformers are installed.

Not to mention next month or so, when I start flying to San Antonio to dig into what those problems are.
