Don't know why that anon is talking shit. MK has always been entirely about fatalities and gore and is a joke if looked at as serious fighting game.

You have to understand that there’s a myth going on behind the scenes of all these fighting game communities. A heavily perpetuated myth, typically spread by 13 year old brats who don’t know the metaphysical difference between a Hadouken and a Power Wave or how to jump over one.

LET’S BE CRYSTAL CLEAR: There’s no such thing as a fighting game that sucks.

Everybody has a game they enjoy, everybody has a “SCENE�� they hang out in.

Not all scenes have to be serious, not all scenes have to be taken “as a joke”.

You don’t go around like a little punk and bash other people’s scenes and games they play just because you yourself don’t understand them.

EVO isn’t the end-all, be-all decider of what games are important or what games are worth playing.

Hell, I still play Mortal Kombat 9 and MKXL, does that make me a joke? Heck no!

I play them when I want to play them, I play them with friends if I want to as well.

But is MK the scene I predominantly lean towards? Nah, it’s always been Guilty Gear.

Heck, I play Dissidia, I play Darkstalkers, I play Samurai Shodown, I play Last Blade, I play Soul Calibur, I play BlazBlue Crosstag, I play UNiST, I play Melty Blood, Rumble Fish, Big Bang Beats, M.U.G.E.N., Skullgirls, Bloody Roar,… and the list goes on…

Even as much as I bash the Street Fighter Franchise for it’s faults… I always gave MUCHO RESPECTO to World Tour Mode in Alpha 3 (PlayStation port).

I loved ISMs, I loved the Groove Edit system in Capcom versus SNK 2.

I loved the Spirit Editor in Samurai Spirits VI: Tenkaichi Kenkakuden! I loved playing different EX versions of characters from different generations of fighting games!

Gundam Battle Assault 2, TMNT Tournament Fighters, Sailor Moon… c’mon now, it’s impossible to hate those games!

Those games STILL HAVE A SCENE… it’s up to us mature folks to RESPECT AND SUPPORT THOSE SCENES.

Don’t go around like a doofus and bash scenes and spread the notion that “such’n’such scene is dead” when you know darn well it’s not!

EVO doesn’t get to decide what games I love to play… and I don’t have to be a fighting game fashionista just to please all the fad-centric forehead-flickable dummies out there who seem to think EVO is everything.

Mainstreamers need to EDUCATE THEMSELVES!

Don’t be ignorant. PLAY OTHER GAMES, SUPPORT OTHER GAMES!
