Oppo launched the Reno3 Pro just four months ago in India and it has now launched the Oppo Reno4 Pro in India too. It is the successor to the Reno3 Pro and was launched in China in May earlier this year. Here is all you need to know about the new device.
Oppo Reno4 Pro Specifications
If you look at the smartphone, the design is nothing new but the company has made some major and important changes in the internals for the global variant. The design is very similar to the Chinese version and the big changes are the new color options and the long camera module at the back.
Tumblr media
The Oppo Reno4 Pro has a  6.5-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display with a resolution of 2400X1080 pixels. It has a 90Hz refresh rate, 90.01-percent screen-to-body ratio, HDR10+ certification. There is a tiny punch-hole cutout at the top-left that has a 32-megapixel selfie camera, you also get the in-display fingerprint reader.
The global variant of Reno4 has Snapdragon 720G which is disappointing as the Chinese version has 765G with 5G support. The processor is paired with 8GB LPDDR4x RAM and has 128GB internal storage. It runs on Android 10-based ColorOS 7.2. It also has a 3D multi-cooling system that has the graphics tube, graphite sheet, and a copper foil that shall maintain normal temperatures in heavy usage.
The smartphone has a 4,000mAh battery that comes with the 65W SuperVOOC 2.0 fast charging support which can charge the phone from 0 to 100-percent in about 36 minutes. That is insane!
As per the cameras, it has a quad-camera setup at the back with a 48-megapixel main sensor, 8-megapixel ultra-wide sensor, 2-megapixel depth, and 2-megapixel macro lens. This is a very underwhelming camera setup compared to the Chinese variant of the phone as it misses a telephoto lens.
Price and Availability
Well here is all the disappointing news, it is priced at INR 34,990 in India for the 8GB+128GB variant. You have two colors namely, Starry Night and Silky White. The disappointing news is that you can easily get phones with 5G support and Snapdragon 865 chipset at this price range. So this price is very bad especially in a very sensitive market like India. If you still want to buy this phone, the phone will go sale exclusively on Flipkart from August 5.

Samsung Galaxy Phone Users Puzzled by ‘Find My Mobile’ Push Notification, Company Says Was Unintentional
Tumblr media
Samsung Galaxy phone users on Thursday were irked after seeing a strange notification via the company’s Find My Mobile service. The notification just had the number “1” along with another “1” below it. Multiple users around the globe reported the incident on social media sites. While responding to user reports on social media, Samsung acknowledged the issue and mentioned that the notification was unintentionally sent during an internal test. OnePlus also sent out a similar push notification to some OnePlus 7 Pro users last year.
As per the complaints posted on Twitter and Reddit, various Samsung Galaxy phone users received the unexpected notification through the Find My Mobile service that didn’t provide any details but showed the number 1 in the title and the content box.
“Anyone else get that find my mobile push notification that just about gave me a heart attack?” one of the affected users tweeted.
The annoying notification wasn’t limited to one country or region and apparently impacted users in global markets, including India and the US. Additionally, the issue affected some of the latest devices such as the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip as well as the Galaxy Note 10 models among others.
I survived the Samsung Find My Mobile 1 (1) notification crisis and lived to tell the tale.
— krisnumberten (@Kris10Darling) February 20, 2020
Few hours after getting user complaints through social media, Samsung’s official UK support account on Twitter addressed the problem and stated that the notification was “sent unintentionally during an internal test.” The account also highlighted that it had no effect on the devices.
Recently, a notification about “Find My Mobile 1” occurred on a limited number of Galaxy devices. This was sent unintentionally during an internal test and there is no effect on your device. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused our customers. ^LF
— Samsung Help UK (@SamsungHelpUK) February 20, 2020
However, the India and other regional accounts of the company’s support team didn’t provide any clarity to users complaining about the push notification.

Samsung unveiled three new Galaxy S10 series models at an event in San Francisco on Wednesday - the Galaxy S10, Galaxy S10+, and Galaxy S10e. Samsung's latest flagship offerings are packed to the gills with features in the hope of giving sales at the top-end of the market a boost after the underwhelming showing by the Galaxy S9 and the Galaxy Note 9. The headline feature on the Galaxy S10 and Galaxy S10+ is perhaps the in-display “ultrasonic” fingerprint scanner, while all three new phones feature “hole-punch” selfie cameras at the top-right.
Samsung Galaxy S10 and Galaxy S10+
The Galaxy S10₹ 66,900 and Galaxy S10+ feature design language that we've come to associate with Samsung's premium devices. Despite some new elements, the phones will look familiar to anyone who has used Samsung's recent devices, and there's nothing wrong with that. We are big fans of Samsung's flagship offerings, and the Galaxy S10 and Galaxy S10+ follow in their footsteps.
Despite packing bigger batteries, the Galaxy S10 and Galaxy S10+ are actually lighter than their predecessors. At 7.8mm, they are marginally thinner as well. You get more colour options than before, and the more expensive Galaxy S10+ gets a couple of ceramic finishes as well.
S10+ pack 6.1-inch and 6.4-inch Quad HD+ Dynamic AMOLED displays with HDR10+ support, with the same curved edge finish that we saw in their predecessors. In fact the “Infinity-O Display” is more edge-to-edge than before as the bezels at the top have been minimised by moving the selfie camera to a “hole” at the top-right of the display.
The Galaxy S10+ packs dual front cameras, so this cutout is definitely more noticeable than on the other two smartphones. On the home screen and in most apps, the cutout is part of the status bar at the top so it's unlikely to get in your way.
We also watched videos in full screen mode on the Galaxy S10+ and the cutout didn't really bother us, though your mileage may vary. We didn't really have the chance to play any games on the phone so we don't know if the cutout would impact gameplay by hiding some UI elements, or if there's an option to mask the cutout completely with a black bar.
At 1200 nits, the display should be good to use outdoors even on the brightest of days, but it's not something we got to test during our time with the smartphones.
Like we mentioned earlier, the Galaxy S10 and Galaxy S10+ pack in-display fingerprint scanners, a first for Samsung, but something we've seen in other phones like the OnePlus 6T₹ 37,999, and even budget offerings like the Oppo K1, among others. Though Samsung says the “ultrasonic” technology it is using makes the authentication process more secure, from a day-to-day perspective, the experience of using them will be pretty similar to what we've seen with other in-display fingerprint scanners.
Across all devices that we've reviewed, we've found in-display fingerprint scanners to be slower and often not as reliable as ones embedded in physical buttons. Our limited time with the Galaxy S10+ presented a similar experience, though we will reserve our judgement until we've had a chance to use the phone on an everyday basis as part of our review process.
The phones with version 1.1 of Samsung One UI, which is based on Android 9. The overall look is pretty similar to what we've seen with One UI update that shipped for previous Samsung flagships.
All three phones are powered by the Samsung Exynos 9820 SoC (Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 in select markets). The Galaxy S10 packs 8GB of RAM and up to 512GB of storage, while the Galaxy S10+ will have an additional variant with 12GB of RAM and 1TB of in-built storage. The Galaxy S10e₹ 55,900 will be available in 6GB and 8GB RAM options, with storage topping out at 256GB. The headphone jack lives on, and, like before, there's a microSD card slot as well.
Samsung Galaxy S10e
Apart from being the most affordable phone in the Galaxy S10 lineup, the Galaxy S10e is arguably the most interesting one as well. In the time that we spent with the device we were reminded of the iPhone XR₹ 67,999, and not just because of the bright yellow-coloured option that's exclusive to this phone.
Just like the iPhone XR, the Galaxy S10e lacks some of the features found in more expensive duo, though in areas like the display, it seems like less of a compromise when compared to Apple's offering. While the iPhone XR sits in between its two more expensive brethren when it comes to display size, Samsung is positioning the Galaxy 10e as a device that offers a “premium experience in a compact size”.
If you are not a fan of how flagship — and indeed all — phones have gradually crept up in size, you will appreciate the Galaxy S10e. We certainly found it to be the easiest device to deal with during the time we spent with the trio and we believe that will be the case with most people as well.
The Galaxy S10e lacks the telephoto camera found on the Galaxy S10 and Galaxy S10+, so you still get a dual-camera setup including the ultra-wide camera that Samsung is heavily promoting as one of the highlight features of the Galaxy S10 lineup. It also foregoes the in-display fingerprint scanner for one that's embedded on the power button on the side of the phone.
Another feature that Samsung spent some time talking about at the event is reverse wireless charging or as Samsung is calling it, the Wireless PowerShare experience. Also seen in the likes of the Huawei Mate 20 Pro₹ 69,990, this essentially turns your phone into a wireless charger, letting you charge other Qi-compatible devices like the new Galaxy Watch Active, the Galaxy Buds, and even other smartphones by keeping them on the back of the device.
We tested this feature out and found that it worked as advertised, though obviously you will need to line up the “sweet spots” of the two devices right next to each other, which is a limitation of current wireless charging technology and not something specific to the Galaxy S10 devices. This feature is available in all three phones.
We didn't get a chance to test out the cameras of the new phones at the hands-on area, but as we've mentioned earlier, they pack plenty of improvements in the camera department, and the camera alone could be a potential reason to upgrade from older devices, if Samsung is able to deliver on all of its promises.
Samsung Galaxy S10, Galaxy S10+, Galaxy S10e price in India
Galaxy S10, Galaxy S10+, and Galaxy S10e price in India have been revealed. The Samsung Galaxy S10₹ 66,900 price in India starts at Rs. 66,900 for the 128GB variant, going up to Rs. 84,900 for the 512GB variant. The Samsung Galaxy S10+ price in India starts at Rs. 73,900 for the 128GB variant, going up to Rs. 91,900 for the 512GB variant, and Rs. 1,17,900 for the 1TB variant. Finally, the Samsung Galaxy S10e₹ 55,900 price in India is set at Rs. 55,900 for the sole 128GB variant being launched in India. Pre-bookings will open today via Samsung's site, Flipkart, Amazon, Paytm, Tata CliQ, and select retailers. Stay tuned to Gadgets 360 for a detailed review of the new Samsung smartphones.

Samsung announces folding phone with 5G at nearly $2,000
SAN FRANCISCO (Reuters) – Samsung Electronics Co Ltd on Wednesday unveiled a nearly $2,000 folding smartphone in a tender to top the technology of Apple Inc & Chinese rivals & reignite consumer interest in a massive consumer electronics category that had its worst sales ever final year.
The Galaxy Fold will go on sale on April 26 & take advantage of new & faster 5G mobile networks. The device looks similar to a conventional smartphone, yet then opens like a book to reveal a display the size of a small tablet at 7.3 inches (18.5 cm).
The device “answers skeptics who said that everything that could be done has been done,” DJ Koh, chief executive of Samsung Electronics, said at an event in San Francisco. “We are here to prove them wrong.”
With the foldable phone, Samsung is trying to take the technology lead on two fronts in the smart phone race, offering an eye-catching new feature with the big, bending screen & the first 5G connection in a premium phone, a feature analysts do not expect Apple to match until 2020.
It in addition challenges the notion of what a phone can cost, debuting at nearly twice the price of current top-of-the-line models from Apple & Samsung itself.
Patrick Moorhead, founder of Moor Insights & Strategy, said the new folding device could assist Samsung stay at the top & lure consumers to upgrade devices that have looked largely the same over the past five years.
“Samsung & Apple go back & forth” to lead the premium smartphone market, Moorhead said. “I think this is Samsung’s chance to take back the innovation crown.”
And even though the $1,980 starting price is steep, some committed Samsung fans said they would pay it. Navneet Kumar Singh, a Samsung enthusiast from India who traveled to San Francisco to watch the launch, is ready to place his order.
“The prices of the flagship models have been a little aggressive in India,” he said, “But in the end, whether you invest the money you’re getting a different experience.”
Samsung in addition introduced several accessories to compete against Apple, including a pair of wireless headphones called Galaxy Buds. The headphones include wireless charging, a feature that Apple has promised to put into is competing AirPods yet has not yet released.

Samsung in addition said that its new Galaxy phones will be able to wirelessly charge its headphones & new smartwatches by setting the accessories on the back of the phone.
Samsung said it had developed new manufacturing processes for the phone’s hinge & flexible display to tolerate opening & closing hundreds of thousands of times.
10 TIMES FASTER
Along with the folding phone, Samsung in addition added new cameras & a 5G version to its Galaxy series of phones.
Verizon Communications Inc will be the first carrier to offer service for Samsung’s 5G phones. The networks are expected to be 10 times faster than current ones, improving viewing of live news & sports events.
The 5G smartphones, both folding & rigid, aim to defeat major rivals Apple & Xiaomi Corp to market with a next-generation device as Samsung defends a narrowing lead in global handset shipments.
With the 5G versions of its flagships, the Korean electronics maker looks to have beaten Chinese rivals in the 5G race, although the device will operate only on the small number of networks launching after this year. Apple is not expected to release a 5G smartphone until late 2020.
Rival smartphone makers are expected to announce 5G models at next week’s Mobile World Congress, the industry’s top annual event, in Spain. Samsung said its 5G handset would be available in the early summer.
The Galaxy 10 series needs to appeal to consumers who are reluctant to upgrade for only incremental technological improvements in performance. Such reluctance led to the worst-ever year for smartphone sales in 2018.
All of the Galaxy series of rigid phones apart from the 5G will be available from March 8, with the S10+ priced from $1,000, the S10 priced from $900 & the smaller S10e from $750.

The mainline S10 compares with $999 for Apple’s iPhone XS & $858 for Huawei Technologies Co Ltd’s premium Mate 20 Pro.
Samsung is still the global smartphone market leader with approximately 19 percent share yet it underperformed the market, which was itself down.
Huawei & Apple are vying for moment place with approximately 13 & 12 percent respectively.
