Mark would consider it his ability to learn - in game terms this is a mix of resolve in intelligence - able to buckle down, focus on something, and apply it. When young, thats how he was able to get out of his small town on scholarships, then how he got his PhD, and now that he's dead? How he learned blood sorcery so fast :)

im gonna ignore that the question says briefly

Oh wow there's been some really good ones with Sampson but actually! My favorite is a positive one :) its between him and a character named Lucius. Lucius takes a lot of explaining but in short at this point in the story he was a ghoul who was showing Mark around the chantry... Mark found out he was adopted by Gaius ... Gaius is the Regeant and Tremere primogen and as of now seemed like a hardass (also eternal enemy of Mark's sire) but Lucius is super super pure and happy and uhg. we love him.

Anyway point is he was showing Mark the chantry. There is a long secret subway ride to get to the chantry cause its far underground. So early on Lucius and Mark had a long time to talk because he'd take him down each ride.

One ride Mark ended up telling him about history, Lucius said he liked that cause normally he couldn't focus on it and learn and he said Mark was a good teacher.

Later, on one ride, he asked Mark to explain FATHERS DAY TO HIM. God. So adorable. Also in that conversation Mark commented on how he was a 'private person' and Lucius was like "I dunno, you don't seem that way to me!" because honestly yeah Mark did tell him a lot, like even that he didn't see his parents often. Anyway Mark had opened up a bit cause Lucius was a rare person he could have a nonstressful nice conversation with. He got to go 'teacher mode' too and he loves teaching. Ugh. So fucking nice.

This was in the first 2 weeks of Mark being both dead and conscious (he was keep staked for awhile) so like. Nice ray of sunshine. And really nice Rp moments of being in the subway and having tht conversation. God. Was so good. I MISS LUCIUS SO MUCH. And Mark misses him a bit too.

Oh if Mark was more in modern times he'd definitely have like a professor twitter where he retweets cool historical discoveries and tweets links to papers his colleagues have published that he likes. The username would definitely be something like DrMark or something LOL. The bio would be very short and would just be like. Roman History Lover; UC Alumni; Ask me about my latest research. Very little personal stuff on it at all. His profile pic would be himself but he really wouldn't post pictures otherwise unless its of some university event.

He'd have a private twitter with a username like Markisveryfunny that has like. 12 followers. He never uses it but it exists. He mostly uses it to follow accounts he doesn't want to on his main.

Yes. Especially his own - he's been doing it for awhile, just being closeted for example. For other's secrets - He's ok at it, because of just like. How things are. The stakes are pretty high and such. Mark's not stupid. Secrets are only worth telling if he gets something out of it now.

And there are some people he'd never betray - Julius and Sampson - and some that would take a LOT to do so - Rose and Oswald (sorry if u dont know them but its too much to explain). And he has his own secrets that would be REALLY RELALY BAD if they got out.

After a night of playing cards in a back room in Dublin, Caria married a man she’d spent the night before with drinking and just having fun. It wasn’t love, it was just exhilaration. He was wild and adventurous and matched exactly with where she was in life at that point in time (on the rebound) and she was careless in not recognizing that he was just in it for the ride and whatever he could get out of the nuptials. at eighteen years old, nolan became a father; it wasn’t the plan, but neither was forgetting condoms and, apparently, listening in his sex education classes. then again, as a teenager he didn’t do much in the way of listening. he had a knack for getting by and succeeding without much thought, grades that most could only hope for and three medical colleges fighting to win him over. like his father and grandfather before him, nolan wanted to become a doctor to make a difference. before he could even decide on a college, those plans came to a halt and a more important journey began.

it began like most high school relationships, nolan and his girlfriend broke up. they hadn’t been all that serious and given their decade long friendship, decided it would be better not to risk that in an effort to be the “perfect” family. despite their families falling out over the pregnancy, nolan and her continued being friends for a number of years. isobel was born in december 2007, a christmas present like no other he would ever get.

while their friends left for college, nolan was learning to change diapers, make bottles and working two jobs to make ends meet. in the space of a few months, nolan was forced to sacrifice the last of his teenage years in favour of becoming an adult, something bella’s mother couldn’t quite do. the problems didn’t surface for a couple of years, but they came to a head when their daughter was almost four and removed from the care of her mother. she was placed with nolan full-time, seeing the demise of their friendship.

by this time he had been in a relationship for a couple of years with a young woman he had met whilst waiting tables. their relationship blossomed and they would spend the next ten years together — during this time, she took on the role of step-mother without a second guess, accepting his daughter like her own and became a family of three. meanwhile, bella’s mom was given no choice but to face her demons in order to be allowed to see her daughter again.

Nelson Silas Weston Chernabog - FC: Finn Wittrock ALIVE (Never Been Below - But he’s heard all about it from his father)

There was a competition between all these boys for a top crown prize. Last man standing might not have been the point, but maybe it was? Some of these boys were demonic and instead of dying were bounced back to Hell where they originally came from but it wasn’t the same a human death. They were more vanquished from the earth when their vessels could no longer hold them. The Lich King had offspring with many different mother sources. Silas never wanted to be part of this competition. He just wanted his private world back. He participated thinking if he won he could control what was out of his control now. 

That said nearly two years later there were two boys left standing on this earth. Atticus and Silas. One was the offspring of The Horned King and the other the offspring of Chernabog. Both the Horned King and Chernabog had gotten themselves into pickles. The Horned King to this very day was still dancing in the fairy ring in the middle of the quarter at the center of Feral. The fact he was immortal was doing him no good for his exhaustion. Then there was Chernabog who had gotten himself captured and trapped in a brass vessel that hung at all times around Delta’s neck. Their fathers were not going to be able to help them figure out what to do next. They were on their own. 

One possibly more than another. Atticus was still on the outside where he had access to Oogie and a whole support system that seemed willing if he so asked. Silas was stuck on the inside of Feral with people who he was pretty sure would sooner skin him alive than look at him. Not only that but his choices of outreach came down to reaching out to Delta and Frank or Queen Grimhilde. Oh yes. She was in Feral too. 

Silas once was a secret son of Chernabog and his mother kept secret from his too. Now, it’s all out in the open. No father to reach for. His mother is in reach hidden deep in the Nevers beyond the Pixie Hollow biding her time. His biological mother tried to finally make a bond with the son she never raised, but too much damage was done. Silas walking into the Delta Castle Halloween Ball was Silas choosing sides. It’ll all come to light eventually whether he’s questioned or if Frank picks his brain apart enough. The real question will be whether Delta or Frank give a fuck about his decision. At this point they truly may not and going to that party could be Silas’s worse mistake. 

Then there was Atticus. He’d grown attached to Boogie family in his own dissasociated way. Like most demonic entities are full enough of themselves to even believe Oogie might have wanted to be his queen. It seemed to have probably been a miscommunication and was more likely referring to her daughter, Spade. Still, with Silas out of the picture he feels like he’s all but won this competition if not for one item. 

His father’s crown. 

He’s currently contemplating like most villains to make a plan to invade Feral and steal this crown or trying to rescue his father. It took very little time for him to decide his father made his bed he could lie in it. It was his time to rise. Vanity’s weakness still longed for the prize he was promised. Atticus is still in the backgrounds drawing up plans for power and dominion that his father lost them. He doesn’t just want to win the competition anymore. He wants to prove he can be a better king than his father. 

Atticus, Isaac, Ira, and Alastor are the sons of The Horned King. They were all taken from him at birth as part of his payment for his lich powers. He had to sacrifice all of himself to gain the ultimate powers of Hell. That included these parts too. It’s very easy to tell who had a different mommy. But, Jenner is not privy to who those women are. 

They were raised in an infernal place away from the Horned King by “Princes of Hell” - One raised by a Shinigami, another a demon of pestilence, iniquity, and self-indulgence, and one by a creature residing over greed, and discord & lies.

They were placed according to their born talents for where they would thrive in nurturing their chaos. 

Each boy is unique and raised by completely different demons giving them all different environmental factors, goals, and motivations. 

It has been decided that the four princes will be brought back to the earth under Chernabog’s care and not just because he’s been the go-to villain nanny,  but the fact Jenner is bound to Hell by soul contract making him the perfect stand-in guardian in the human world to keep them on the right track.

Nelson Silas Weston is the biological unannounced/hidden son of Dr. Jenner Chernabog and has been his apprentice for years. He is not a happy camper about this. His father “baby-sitting” was one thing, but these fuckers now live in their lair and have taken over his completely spoiled rotten nature of being the apple of his father’s eye. 

This group just got crowded.

In all technicalities, all of these boys are human beings and witches, but both have a mutation in common. Jenner is hardly human anymore after the hundreds of years his body has mutated and changed as his evil became more twisted. Evil changed him. The Horned King is hardly human anymore as over time Hell’s power has decayed his immortal body and soul. Power and Evil has changed him. These changes made all these boys more than off center as humans and completely infernal chaos witches. 

The Horned King’s boys also believe they were each hand picked as “the chosen one” and only just found out they were all told the same thing. Competition for rightful heir to a gruesome crown, game on.
