status: closed for @chloeanurak location: Retro Nouveau Gallery at springtide bash
Back when Samira was childless in San Francisco, she'd been very immersed in the art scene there but had lost touch once the responsibilities of her daughter had become her priority. But now that Maya was older and they were living in a brand new place, Samira was trying to return back to some of the old hobbies she loved once upon a time. She noted a familiar face staring at one of the paintings and made her way over there, taking a sip from her drink before she spoke up. "So--what's your opinion on this modern interpretation of Monet?" Did she sound slightly pretentious, maybe--but she'd just glanced at the little description in front of the painting.

"Not at all...because leaving Maya with an easel and some paint is definitely more her speed than coming here to stare at other's art...she'd never let me off the hook if I even attempted it." But Samira had hope that a couple years later maybe the young girl would enjoy it, at least--she hoped for it to happen. Samira took a sip from her wine before shaking her head at Chloe's question, hating to admit that it wasn't going very well. "It's not going great but I think that's on me...I need to put myself out there more," she chuckled before changing the topic back to Liam. Samira smiled as she listened to Chloe speak about him and had to nod when she mentioned how great it was that they were friends. "She's doing great so far...and yes please, I mean Maya has been great at school but on weekends and stuff, I'm worried I'm boring my own daughter now," she chuckled softly before pulling out her phone. "What do you say next week? We could take them to that amusement park outside of the city limits? I bet they'd enjoy that."

Chloe tilted her head and shrugged, having to give Samira that point. She didn't know any young kids who could handle something like this, and it was truly wise not to try. "That's fair. Looking at art isn't as much fun as creating it. Especially at that age." Liam definitely taught her that much. "And how's that going? The adult stimuli. Is it pouring?" She chuckled, and shook her head, "Oh -- he's great. Giving us all a run for our money, and looking absolutely adorable while doing it. To be a child again, let me tell you." Chloe's smile widen at the comment, "That's awesome. I'm so glad Maya likes him. And as long as she can handle him, I think play dates are a must!"

The smile that appeared on Samira’s face as she heard of Chloe’s interpretation on the painting in question was wide and happy. She’d seen much of the same when she’d glanced at the painting as well. Especially the lily pond and the kids being kids angle which had her glancing back at the other with a nod before chuckling softly. “You think I could drag a seven year old to a gallery? Definitely not. She’s with her babysitter at the park, I’m going to be meeting up with her a little later. I figured I needed some…adult stimulation today," she gestured around the gallery before looking back at Chloe. “How’s Liam doing? Maya can’t stop raving about just how nice he is to her so I just had to mention how much I appreciate him making her feel welcome and all,” she mused before taking a sip from her wine glass while she continued glancing around the venue at the rest of the crowd.

Chloe found herself absolutely loving the grand opening of Sara's museum. It was beautiful, and the turn out was as one could have expected for such talent housed in between these walls. Chloe was moving painting to painting, allowing her mind to take in any and everything she saw. It was freeing, and bought her a great sense of peace. He focus would be broken when someone spoke next to her. Turning her head slightly, she'd smile when she notice it was Samira. "Well, hello there, beautiful." She greeted, before glancing over at the painting again, and taking in the question asked, "Hmmm... I get kids at play, the woods. A lily pond, just a good day outdoors, and kids being kids." She replied, before turning back to Samira, "Speaking of which, where is Maya?"
