i feel like making a string of 0 note posts today. anyway i was in the early dregs of sami tag, filtered out zowens cause i know ive read every zowens one 3+ times and i needed some artificial novelty, which of course mostly left samifinn. which might be the most bafflingly popular nothingburger of a ship for sami out of any of them. i've been struggling with why that ship does so little for me, even less than like sami/dean or something, and why it was so crazy popular at one point. and then it occurred to me that every single samifinn fic - EVERY ONE - is domestic fluff. which does explain why it's nothing to me cause that's not a genre i generally go for, but also especially as a wrestling ship. cause i don't think sami and finn had ever even wrestled a match, like ever, when people were into shipping them. there was just stuff about their irl friendship and them playing legos or something. and, not to be rude but, if you're shipping wrestlers and you're specifically NOT shipping them on the basis that they engage in very intensely homoerotic fake violence every day, if your main ship can't involve any sweaty hookups in the locker room after putting on a banger match, what are you even here for

Not the samifinn first anon but I can confirm that sadly shippers kinda ruined what was a great friendship. And it’s also why they stopped interacting online almost completely and why Finn drifted to other people (Sheamus, Seth, Cesaro, got closer to Kevin, Curt...). Sometimes this fandom truly manages to ruin everything smfh.

this is so sad. i’ve been following finn for a long time on twitter but i’m not enough active to notice or to know anything about it, that’s why it kinda came as a cold shower to me.this is the reason for i always keep my shippy stuff here on tumblr and avoid to share it outside. i’ve even scolded (jokingly of course) a girl who once commented a tweet of seth with one of my fanarts, because not everyone is chill like finn about these things and may not enjoy it, especially since many in this fandom seem not to be able to distinguish reality from kayfabe when it comes to wrestling. and making a friendship or public interactions between two guys end by harassing them with these things is the worst thing a shipper can do.
