the thing about asa emory is he HATES the chase but loves the capture.

in the first movie, we see the father attempt to escape only to be met with traps that quickly subdue him. asa drags him back to the basement and secures him just like he already has with the mother. the amount of traps are part of his MO, but they also serve as a way to lessen both the chance of escape and time it takes for asa to get to them. this man does not like his victims running and prepares the area to ensure that if they do so, they won’t make it far.
