Kevaaron wip: they’re flirting

Leaning across the elevators is Kevin, arms crossed over his chest. He pushes off the wall when Aaron opens the door and hits the call button. The sight of him feels like a suckerpunch to a fresh bruise. Aaron works his jaw but can’t figure out what to say, but Kevin doesn’t wait for him to manage it. He snaps at him from the elevator doors with an impatient look toward Aaron; Aaron returns an extremely irritated glare of his own.

Unfazed, Kevin says, “Let’s go,” then steps into the elevator.

There’s a beat where Aaron doesn’t move. It’s a beat too long because Kevin peeks his head out and beckons Aaron over with a terse hurry up. Aaron goes and waits for the doors to close before he starts shoving at Kevin. Even though Kevin didn’t expect it, he doesn’t budge much. He gives Aaron a mean look, and Aaron pushes again and again. When Kevin gets sick of being bullied, he pushes back, one hard shove to Aaron’s chest that knocks him back against the wall. The doors open and Kevin twists his fist in Aaron’s shirt collar. He drags him out despite Aaron's resisting, then lets go and wrenches his arm out of Aaron’s grip.

Aaron stomps behind Kevin through the back door to the parking lot. Instead of going to the car, Aaron pivots to the right on the sidewalk towards the road. Kevin only notices when he opens his door. He pushes himself up on the frame and shouts, “Where are you going?”

Aaron whips back to him, stopping a few steps short of the passenger door. “I’m not going to practice.”

“The fuck you’re not.”

“I can’t look you in the face after last night.” He can’t—not when looking at Kevin means he can’t do anything but want him or poorly conceal his desire to kiss him through harmless acts of violence.
