Since they want to continue this conversation and act like it’s okay I’ll post it publically here. While your opinions on sam and Cait aren’t one I agree with (I’m talking to you shippers) you’re allowed to have that opinion. What’s NOT allowed is this kind of language. You want to accuse sam of being gay? Edit: you’re going to have that false opinion. He’s said before he’s not gay and it’s disrespectful to continue accusing him of this when he’s said it’s not true. My Fav Sam Cait Interview, and Here’s Why

If I knew how to make gifs I would have, but here are the things I love about this interview, which is basically the shippers dream come true:

1. ZERO personal space: arm around the chair, man spreading to a ridiculous degree, shoulders touching. GOD

2. Heart eyes literally every time they look at each other 😍😍😍

3. THE FLIRTING. My god, the flirting...

4. 2:17 Shoulder rub! So cute, they both look so incredibly happy. Like, come on, look of ❤️ guys

5. They rarely get annoyed at each other and have never fought.

13. 14:28 When Cait says the show she’s watching, Sam says “Oh right”, remembering that he already knew what she was currently watching. But she’s only 3 episodes in, and they have just both been apart on vacation (supposedly until the day before this interview), so did that really come up in organic conversation that day?? Really???

Finally, I’m no expert in body language or the hidden signs of attraction, but even I can see the serious chemistry and connection here. Sorry but I find this extremely hard to deny. If I behaved like this with my male friends, my BF would not be pleased with me. 

And by the by. this is the day before they filmed the IFH. So make of that what you will.

I wonder if SFC is another  of the ‘fans’ who, misled by ‘Soka’ s wholly negative reviews of Season 4, proudly declared that she wasn’t going to watch it from oh, about Episode 2, or 3, or  was it 10.....Not enough ‘intimacy’ (trans: hot sex) for Soka and other former shippers.

So sad these people won’t be watching or commenting authoritatively on Season 5. Not. 

By the way the Season 5 conspiracy theory mentioned above, which recently attracted a number of bovine and gullible spite-shippers, is that Season 5 is not really happening, proven by  Sam’s photographs of empty chairs in deserted fields, another Sam  ‘breadcrumb’ of some sort to exclusively reveal to shippers that it is all a fake, they haven’t built The Big House on Fraser’s Ridge, they haven’t brought back cast and crew to Cumbernauld studios at vast expense, they aren’t hiring extras.....you know the rest, all 10 of you remaining positive Outlander fans on tumblr.....and the millions who are not on Tumblr.

My First Ship: Trust Your Gut, SamCait Ladies!!

I was thinking today about my first “real life” ship from a little known, short lived, but quite good Fox series called Standoff, starring Ron Livingston and Rosemary DeWitt.

Let me tell you, this pair had amazing, AMAZING chemistry. Like, they could make a show on Fox, literally the most conservative network, look HAWT. 

I hadn’t seen chemistry like that before, it was really quite something. A damn shame the writers strike came along in 2007 and cut the show, in my opinion, far too short. I also may have literally been the only person who watched this show, but whatevs.  But I had this sixth sense about the chemistry, it was just too good to be true.

So a few years later I googled the show again, to look up what happened to the actors. And what did I find? 

Married. With two children.

I know what I saw on TV then. I know what I see on TV now. And I’m just gonna leave it at that for now, folks. But I would like to trust my shipper gut again

Wallowing in it...

There comes a point when one’s natural sympathy for those who’ve been apparently abused by the Captain  and his myrmidons, and called cray-cray and other horrid names, runs out, and that point I suspect has been reached when some of the abused positively wallow in their ‘martyr’ status, and relish telling us how badly they’ve been treated, and , what’s worse, use their suffering to justify their abuse  of other people. TV stars for example, who they don’t know and  won’t try to understand, but who they blame for all the ‘hurt’ they claim that they, or  rather their avatars on Twitter and on Tumblr, have  suffered. 

I’ve known, personally,  people who survived being prisoners of war, who survived concentration camps, who’ve survived real, brutal,  physical and emotional abuse, who’ve survived the horrors of war, and its only after they’ve died and their eulogy is read out in church that the stories come out, and their heroism and fortitude emerges, and you wonder how they kept silent so long. Did they wallow in their grief, in their pain, in their suffering? No. Did they boast about their awful experiences to try to win sympathy? No. Did they use the abuse they had survived  to hate, and to justify their hate, for the perpetrators of such real crimes? No. 

I don’t know whether ‘Jess’, and ‘Julia’, and ‘Lauren’ and all the other claimed victims of  twitter abuse, name calling and the rest are the real names of the bloggers who have suffered so much. I don’t know what they were saying back in 2016 or 2017 and whether that even remotely justified such abuse, though I’ve since read the vile and abusive terms they themselves have used when attacking Cait, Tony, Mackenzie, Diana and all the rest.   I don’t know these peoples’ real family names, or their real addresses. (For all I know their real names are Claire, and Laoghaire, and Mary, and they all live in New York City!)

What I do know is that it wasn’t Caitriona Balfe, a real person with a real family, who sicced that man and his followers on the extreme shippers. What I do know is that they are using their ‘hurt’, real or imagined, to justify their abuse of a lovely, beautiful, caring and considerate woman, admired by so many, who can hardly answer back without making things worse, as we have seen this last month. What I do know is that for all their claims of sweetness and love and light,  the veil is off; this is now, as @rainmanjdog now admits, hate, pure and simple. “Its no fun hating on anyone”, she said, But oh, how they are all enjoying it !  

There’s a term for people who wallow in self-pity whilst blaming everyone else and  bullying people who can’t defend themselves, It’s called being a narcissist.. You can read a description of the symptoms and tick each and every box.

There’s a word for women who, if they feel spurned by the person they once loved, seek revenge by hurting and trying to destroy the object of their one time affection. It’s called being a bunny-boiler. It’s not a pretty term, but by glory,. is it accurate!

Ahoy, Maties!

I finally decided to make a formal first post after literally months of lurking and sending innumerable anons, so here goes nothing:

Onto my story. My handle @moghraidhcaitriona takes its inspiration from S02E08 “The Fox’s Lair”, from the scene where Jamie is pouring his heart out to wee Kitty and calls her mo ghraidh Caitriona. Yes, I know that Kitty is short for Katherine (Caitriona in Gaelic), but IMHO, that was a huge intentionally placed easter egg (I see you, Matt B.) hinting at our duo, hence my name.

I first found the OL series in April of ‘16. Having finished ASOIAF, the Farseer Trilogy, and others, and still madly craving historical fantasy, I stumbled upon this enormous series by Diana Gabaldon. I will admit, that at first, reading the Google description, this sounded like another trashy bodice-ripping series for depressed, unloved, mid-life crisis victims and was slightly turned off. Digging further, I came upon the first couple of eps of S2 which had just premiered. I watched them and my Obsessable brain was immediately captivated, hook, line, and sinker! Realizing that this was not, in fact, your average bodice-ripping fanfiction situation, but actu ally quite a nuanced and layered storyline, I immediately downloaded all 8 audiobooks (superbly narrated by Davina Porter. Seriously guys, check them out if you haven’t yet. They are amazing!) and have since listened to them twice already.

Meanwhile, the show was progressing, and I was in love! Our Jamie and Claire were amazing, the cast was amazing, EVERYTHING was amazing!  I love doing needless research, so as I do with most shows I watch, I looked up the actors right away. That’s how I found the gift that keeps on giving that is Sam and Cait. These two displayed what not only was a startling chemistry on-screen, but as I quickly discovered, an equally incendiary relationship off-screen. I binged ALL the available interviews (even IFH) and was hooked! Of course these two were together, no doubt about it. At that time, Sam and Caitriona were married, according to Google, so there was that as well.

I tell you, I tumbled (pun intended) down that rabbit hole so fast, there was no escape! Needless to say, it was the Dark Side that I came across first, as did most of you. I don’t know why that happens. Maybe they have better search optimization for “Sam Heughan girlfriend Caitriona Balfe” or maybe there’s just more of them. It’s truly puzzling. I don’t remember what they were discussing, as I’ve completely blocked that experience out since, but that’s how I found the deplorable shippers. There was so much light and happiness here, a place filled with truly kind and joyful people, so I stayed. This was right before Cannes, and I remember that everyone was speculating whether Sam would show up with Cait on the red carpet. Fact was, he didn’t and Tony did (99.9% convinced he’s Cait’s PA) but that didn’t stop me from shipping. @queencaitriona and @caitcrumbcake were among the first ones I “followed”. Yet, I kept seeing @jamesandclairefraser being reblogged by EVERYONE, so I went to check out her blog and found our amazing Jess, the awesome, confident, opinionated, generous lassie that she is! And the rest, as they say, is history.

The shippers here are such a source of positivity, even in the roughest seas. I think it says a lot about us and our “cause” that we are still here after all that’s been, with no intention (and let’s be honest, prospect, after the last couple of glorious weeks) of sinking. I love seeing the logical ( @cb4tb, @sherrigamblin, @tvuckic), the quietly confident ( @mama-tumblz, @sfidressage, @yellowfeather84), the wordsmiths ( @flocklander, @boyneriver, @fromheretoeternity1121) and of course, the squeeing ( @jamesandclairefraser, @queencaitriona, @balfeheughlywed) sides of this ship, to name just a few! Please forgive me if I’ve omitted you, each and every shipper has so much to add that this post would go on forever (not like it already has, ahem!).

I’m confident that something has shifted in the last couple of weeks, as many have pointed out, and that there are so much more goodies to come! I’m very much looking forward to SA and for ECCC, especially for those of you who are lucky enough to be there, and am so excited to see what happens!

Here concludes my unashamed, and fr*nkly blatant (see, I tagged so many people!), plea for followers, and I hope I haven’t just wasted two minutes of your time.
