just saw a post that had a really good point abt how people characterize sam in relation to dean and i had a point to add to it but i had to pause cause,,, is this a regular salmondean post or a wincest

#it was wincest #this is a regular occurrence #anyway the idea of sam not really fully knowing dean only applies in the same way of a kid not fully knowing their parents as people until-#they themselves are adults #like early seasons sam did not fully know dean as an individual #outside of the mask he wore to keep peace be the person his dad wanted him to be #or at the very least the person dean thought his dad wanted him to be #which is where a lot of the conflict came from in those early seasons #so yeah sam knows dean in a symbiotic way that anyone does when they’ve spent they’re entire lives together #but sam didn’t really know dean as a person until the later seasons #sam literally had the same arc that dean did when marry was revived it just spanned over several seasons #vs someone like cas or garth who met and knew dean as an adult who could actually get to know him on an equal footing #they’re going to know dean better in a different way than sam because the same pretences aren’t there #spn #supernatural #dean winchester #sam winchester
