“I can’t believe people actually fall for these kinds of things,” Bucky scoffs, flicking one of the drooping petals on the flower arrangement. “Ridiculous, right?”
He looks over at Sam, wanting some kind of backup from his partner, only to receive a shrug in response. Bucky rolls his eyes, having flowers delivered to the compound seemed so overplayed in his mind.
“No self respecting woman could actually want to date someone who outsources something like giving flowers.” Bucky mutters, his fingers itch to look at the card to see who they’re from. And more importantly, who they’re for.
“Can’t say I agree with you on this one Buck,” Sam leans back on the conference room chair, waiting for the rest of the team to arrive. “Flower delivery is a normal thing in the modern world, not that I expected you to know. You’re not exactly the romantic type.”
He tries to not let Sam’s comment bug him, but it does. A lot. Back when he was alive the first time, Bucky was over the top. So over the top that some women’s knees physically buckled when they saw his gifts and acts of love. Sure, some of the things he only did to get into their pants but who cares, they were romantic nonetheless.
Bucky tries to concentrate on your detailed plan for the mission but he’s done this a thousand times and could quite possibly complete this recon mission in his sleep and more importantly, the flower debacle is still present. The plastic vase sitting in the middle of the conference table taunts him. The folded card underneath it was basically begging for him to take a look.
He lingers after the meeting, saying some excuse about wanting to look over the documents when really, his curiosity is what’s keeping him seated.
In his defense, your floor of the compound rarely gets any deliveries, let alone “romantic” ones. At least what people now think is romantic. Apart from Sam, himself and you, the other people on the floor are either married or forever alone. Leave the cheesy displays of affection for the lower level agents, the ones who still get the hots from one look.
Bucky looks both ways, making sure no one catches him as he slips the card from under the vase and reads it.
Thought of you today. Have a nice week.
“Nice week? What a loser.” Bucky blows raspberries, throwing the card back on the table.
“Can I help you with something, Barnes?” Bucky jumps up in his spot as he hears your voice coming from behind him.
“Just reading this extensive report,” Bucky lifts up the corners of the papers. “Great to know you have so much spare time.”
To say you and Bucky have a complicated relationship is an understatement. You think he’s a reckless agent that gets away with everything just because he was Captain America’s friend and he thinks that you aren’t reliable on the field because you second guess everything. Match made in heaven, right? Not a single mission you’ve been on has resulted in the two of you being civil. It always ends with a catfight and both of you trying to one up the other one.
“I don’t have time for this. Right now all I want is to go home and get some rest before we have to leave in a couple of days.” You roll your eyes, picking up some of the extra copies for the other agents you’re taking on the mission before grabbing the flowers from the table.
“Are those yours?” Bucky’s voice pitches up, like he can’t seriously believe someone sent you flowers.
“This is exactly what I don’t have time for.” You huff, leaving him behind in the conference room, wishing he’d just drop it. But knowing Barnes, and hearing his combat boots smack on the floor behind you, he won’t stop.
“Who is he?” He raises his eyebrows, walking next to you, covering the elevator buttons with his hands so you can’t press either button.
“Barnes,” You warn. “I’d rather not spend any more time with you than what’s required for my job.”
“Me neither,” Bucky nods. “So, if you can just tell me who sent you the flowers we can go on our way and not talk until we absolutely have to.”
“Does it matter who they’re from?”
Bucky’s eyebrows shoot up. “Of course it matters, I’ve never known you to like someone enough to give them your work address. I’ve never known you to like someone, period. So, yes, it matters.”
“Why would I tell you?” You quickly press the arrow pointing upwards as Bucky gets distracted with his dig at your non-existent love life. “So you can go and tell him what a big mistake he’s making?”
“That, and maybe I just want to know if he’s a real life breathing man.” He shrugs as you get in the elevator. “With eyes and ears and all those things one would need to know you really.”
“Great, thanks for the motivational talk I so didn’t need.” You flip him off as the doors close.
-o-
Your head bounces against the side of the plane as you go through some turbulence but you try not to let it disturb you. But it’s something else that wakes you up, or rather, someone else.
“I’ve come to the conclusion that he works somewhere in the compound.” Bucky drops his body in the seat next to you, his loud voice making your eyes snap open.
“I’m resting before the mission,” You narrow your eyes at him. “And having you talk to me is messing that up.”
“You’re not disagreeing.” Bucky hums.
“The only reason I haven’t flipped you over and dislocated your shoulder is because you have somehow gotten on Sam’s good side and I don’t want him giving me his disapproving father look.”
“Just tell me.” Bucky’s crystal blue eyes are looking straight into yours.
“Tell you what?” You throw your head back with a groan.
“Who the flowers are from.”
“You’re still on that?” You quirk one eyebrow.
“You never answered it.”
The questions seemed to have died down once you closed your eyes again but Bucky popped up whenever you expected him least.
You rummage through the office of the suspect that had just been killed. A doctor that was once Hydra had been trying to replicate the super soldier serum, the animal testing had been positive and a couple of dog sized rats still lived in his office.
“Can you tell me what area he’s in?” Bucky leans on the doorframe and the sudden sound has you bringing your gun to his forehead.
“I could have killed you just now,” You heave. “And I wish I would have, I think death is the only thing that’s going to stop you from asking all these questions.”
“You could just answer.” Bucky shrugs, looking both ways, making sure no one’s around.
“Why do you want to know?” You huff.
“I want to know who’s romancing you.” Bucky acts like he doesn’t care, but the truth is that he’s spent the last few days with you and only you on his mind.
The thought of you dating someone that does the bare minimum makes him frown. He’s never given a second thought to your dating life but if he had to rack his brain, Bucky would assume that you would date someone who’s competent enough to handle your wit and your moods, someone who gets your strength and doesn’t try to undermine you, someone who can handle the emotional baggage that comes with this job and doesn’t judge you. Someone who will hand deliver flowers to your apartment to show you he likes you, instead of having them delivered so that everyone thinks he likes you.
“Why do you care about my love life all of a sudden?” You snap at him and it actually stops him in his tracks.
Bucky stares back at you with half a breath sucking in his lungs.
Love.
You actually said the word love.
Nothing’s ever happened between you two (except for that night the two of you spent cuddling together after neither of you wanted to sleep on the floor, but you swore you’d never speak of it again), but you’ve been a constant in Bucky’s life for years. And he doesn’t deal with change very easily.
If you’re so freely talking about having a love life, as opposed to what? a like life? Get yourself together Barnes! he scolds himself, that means that soon enough you’ll be bringing this mediocre boyfriend around the tower, which means he’ll have to practice his “I’m trying to act like I care what you’re telling me” smile in the mirror while he’s bumped into the guy while you’re still getting ready because lord knows you love to take your sweet time getting ready! And that means that he’ll have to get a tux for your wedding because who would be stupid enough to not marry someone as intelligent and beautiful as you, and that means that you’ll take a leave for your honeymoon but knowing you, work will follow you to said honeymoon. You never stop working and Bucky’s warned you about your body taking a toll after all those years.
“You’re one to talk.” He remembers you rolling your eyes at him the time he said it.
God, your eyes. He’s going to miss your eyes. In the morning, you’ll look at him from over your boiling hot coffee cup. Bucky knows that you like to drink your coffee before the sun goes up because, in your words, I want to have at least a couple of minutes to myself before the world needs me. He’d never admit it to anyone but he sometimes acts like he’s had nightmares keeping him up at night just so he can share those quiet moments with you.
And after the tsunami of memories he won’t share with you anymore subsides, another wave comes crashing in. Soon you’ll be retiring, Bucky’s seen you with Morgan. It’s clear you want kids of your own some day. And you sure as hell won’t be having them when someone like Bucky Barnes is your partner. Bucky knows he’s a risk, he wouldn’t judge you if you thought it too.
“Okay, we’re done here. I’m leaving, White Wolf hot on my heels.” You speak into the chip, making him snap out of his thoughts and return to Earth.
“As always, thanks for doing nothing, Barnes.” You laugh, slapping Bucky's shoulders as you pass him.
Bucky’s lungs burn as he runs alongside you down the corridor, trying to make up for all of the air he didn’t get as he spiraled.
-o-
Bucky is up and it’s not because he heard the door hinges creak as you came inside or the slapping of your heels on the old wooden floor. It’s because he hasn’t been able to sleep since you left.
He acted tired and fake yawned all the way to his room as you passed by, all maked-up and perfumed, when in reality he spent the rest of the night trying to decipher a video game someone recommended.
Bucky’s verdict: I’ve been to war, I don’t need to play make believe.
He closed his eyes, trying to concentrate on the sounds coming from the kitchen. You opened the fridge door and took a glass bottle of sorts out. From the cork popping, he figured out you were taking out your favorite wine.
Bucky walks quietly towards the kitchen, not wanting to startle you.
You gasp as you turn around, cork in your mouth and wine glass filled to the brim in your left hand.
“I thought everyone would be asleep by now.” You spit the cork into the trash, lowering your face so your hair fans over your features.
“Nightmares,” Bucky mumbles, his eyebrows furrowing at your unusual mannerisms.
“Well, now you know who was out here.” You walk past him. “Goodnight Barnes.”
But before you can leave, Bucky holds your arm. “What’s wrong?”
“Nothing,” You try to release from his grip but you know you’re no match for the vibranium arm.
Bucky lifts up a trembling hand to your face and moves away your hair. Your normally bright eyes now look dull. Red blotching around your irises and black ink running down your face.
“You’ve been crying.” Bucky’s jaw tightens.
“Thanks for that, Sergeant Obvious,” You scoff. “You’ve discovered my secret. I’m a living, breathing woman with feelings. I know they make you uncomfortable because you don’t have any but I do.”
“Why?”
“Why? Because I’m a person and as much as I would like to be as robotic as you are, sometimes people do things that hurt me.” You roll your eyes. “Next time I have feelings, I’ll make sure to take care of them before I enter the tower so you won’t be bothered.”
“Why are you crying?” He hisses, shutting his eyes before he sees red. “Who made you cry? Tell me a name and I’ll have them killed before dawn.”
“What?”
“No one makes my girl cry.”
Your mouth opens and closes as you try to understand what Bucky just said. The man who’s constantly bothering you and making your life quite impossible is threatening to kill someone just because you shed a couple of tears?
Bucky runs his hands down his face. “We’re wasting precious time here baby, just give me a name and I’ll do the rest.”
“You don’t care,” You tell him but his expression doesn’t change. “You’re not supposed to care. Why do you?”
“The other day, when you told me about the flower idiot, I may have realized something.” Bucky lets out a deep breath. “You’re my partner on the field but you’re much more than that in here.”
Your hand shakes as Bucky takes it and presses your palm flat on his chest.
“I’m thinking of you when I wake up, hoping I catch you before you get ready. You’re on my mind when we’re training because I want to teach you everything I know, and I want you to teach me how you twisted the agent’s arm and dislocated his knee at the same time. Most of the times when we’re out on missions I’m reckless because I want to keep you safe. I don’t care what happens to me, you’re what needs to be taken care of. At night I dream of you, and then I wake up feeling hollow.”
“You’re too good for me and I know that but that doesn’t mean that some jackass can take you out and then make you cry. If that’s the standard then I’m way above average, baby.” Bucky lets out a dry chuckle. “And I know you don't want me because, who would? But-”
You slam your lips on his, stopping him completely.
Both of you are starved for touch, wanting to explore every inch of the other. His hands roam your body as yours get tangled in his hair.
Heavy breathing takes over the kitchen as you separate.
“Why did it take you so long to tell me?” You rest your forehead on his.
“Why did it take you so long to kiss me?”

“Ok, your turn, Kill Bill. Two truths and a lie, go.” Tony says, referring to the fact that you fight with swords, making you roll your eyes before you join in on the laughter.
“Ok, uhm...” you try not to look at anyone so you don’t give away the answer “I have a teddy bear that I sleep with, I have bungee jumped from the top of the tower and I’ve never had a New Year’s kiss.”
You look back up to the room and wait for their guesses.
It’s a Friday night and the people that remained in the Tower for the holidays decided to have a little game night.
Every year the same people stay around, having nowhere in particular to go, and spend Christmas together.
Clint and Scott usually spend this time with their families, this year Thor decided to go to New Asgard with Bruce and Loki to visit Val and Korg, and Peter decided to spend it with aunt May and Happy.
You usually alternate between going to visit your family and staying in the tower each year, and this one was your turn to go to your first home.
You came back the day after Christmas, never being one to miss Tony’s New Year’s Eve party that’s gonna happen in two days now.
“Well, we know she has a teddy bear.” Wanda says.
“Do we know that?” Tony turns to you, narrowing his eyes. “Do you have one?”
“Yes, she does, we’ve seen it” Natasha answers for you while you glance at Bucky, praying he doesn’t put together that they’re talking about the teddy bear he gifted you for Valentine’s Day this year along with flowers.
Natasha and Wanda were more happy than you when you told them, sustaining that he did it because he liked you until you pointed out that he gave flowers to them too, because he’s sweet and a gentleman and that’s just who he is.
They wouldn’t let up on the fact that neither of them got a teddy bear though, and you would have agreed with them but Bucky never really did anything else about it so you decided to let it go and not read too much into it.
You're brought back to the present by Tony.
“Ok, so she has one. Then it’s gotta be the New Year’s kiss, everyone has had one at least once in their life,” he was looking at your reaction very closely while talking, but you did your best to keep an easy smile and not give anything away.
“Even Captain Virgin over there had one last year.” he adds vaguely waving towards Steve’s general direction.
You crack at the nickname and at the undignified sound Steve made while blushing and glancing at Nat that shared that kiss with him.
“Tony, there’s no way that she bungee jumped from the roof without us knowing, that’s gotta be the lie.” Sam interjects, also watching you closely for any signs of a reaction that you manage not to give.
“Alright, just take your guesses, people.” You say to the group.
“New Year’s Kiss.” Tony all but yelled, Natasha and Wanda agreeing with him.
“Bungee jump.” Sam says and Steve and Bucky agree, then they all seem to hold their breath as they wait for your answer.
It’s not a surprise that even these stupid little games cause a lot of competition amongst the team.
“Neither.”-you finally said and let out a laugh when they all groan in annoyance while taking their shots for guessing wrong.
“WAIT- you bungee jumped off the ROOF? When?!” Steve seems more concerned than anything.
“Well, you know a few months ago when we happened to all be on different missions at the same time?” They nod, not knowing where you're going with this “Clint and I came back first from ours, we were bored and there was no one around to stop us from doing anything stupid so…” you trail off, shrugging while laughing.
Steve looks shocked, Sam is laughing his ass off while Tony immediately goes to look for the security footage.
They all cheered while watching you throw yourself off the roof, Clint's yells and laughter could be heard, and then Steve shakes his head while joining you in the laughter when you see Clint take his turn and scream like a little girl while you fall to the ground laughing on the video.
Once you all composed yourselves, Tony pokes Wanda’s arm “I thought you said she had a teddy bear.” he's looking at her like she brought him on a treasure hunt and then betrayed him and left him for dead on a deserted island.
“She does! She got it from-” you interrupt her before she can finish the sentence, blushing a little and avoiding Bucky’s eyes.
“I do have a teddy bear, I just don’t sleep with it.” you say, shrugging.
“Oh, come on, that’s cheating!” Natasha whines.
“It’s really not, just because I do have one it doesn’t mean I didn’t tell a lie about it” you laugh at her pout.
“Wait a minute, so you’ve never had a New Year’s kiss?” Tony looks at you like you suddenly grew two heads.
“It’s not a big deal. Funny thing is, I have had boyfriends during New Year’s Eve, I just never happen to spend the day with them.” you say absentmindedly while thinking back at all the parties you’ve been to over the years to celebrate the new year.
“Really?” it's so quiet you almost missed it, your eyes snapping up to meet Bucky’s that were already looking at you.
“Is that so hard to believe?” The room seems to go quiet as everybody looks at you two, but you're too focused on each other to notice.
“I didn’t- I mean…” his cheeks started to turn a little pink as he seemed to have trouble finishing his sentence “It’s just you’re very pretty, who wouldn’t want to kiss you?”
You didn’t know what to say to that, you start blushing too while opening and closing your mouth a couple of times, looking like a damn fish.
You settle for a quiet ‘thank you’ with a smile that he shyly returns, neither of you noticing the glances passed by everyone else.
The whole team is convinced that there’s something between you and Bucky, but both of you always deny it and don’t seem to read too much into each other’s actions, always dismissing the glances and lingering touches as friendly affection even though you’re not really that close.
But really what else could it be?
The team lets the moment end and the game goes on, everyone keeps drinking and having fun until it gets really late and you all decide to call it a night.
Bucky goes to his bedroom and gets ready for sleep but he can’t seem to focus on anything else but you.
He really doesn’t understand how can anybody see your pretty self when you’ve just woken up, no makeup and your eyes full of sleep and not want to kiss you, let alone when you are all dolled up in a pretty golden dresses like you do every New Year’s.
Every year it gets harder for him not to just grab you and kiss you, hell every day is pretty much torture to see you around the Compound and not get to be with you the way he wants to.
But he has to keep his hands to himself because there’s no way you could actually like him like that.
He’s even tried to drop hints here and there like giving you the teddy bear for Valentine’s Day but, except for the cute shade of pink that your face turned, you still didn’t seem all that interested.
Still, that didn’t stop him from thinking what it would be like if you did like him and fantasize about being your first New Year’s kiss and maybe even your last first kiss.
At the same time you were in your own room getting ready for bed while your own thoughts kept going back to the moment you shared with Bucky in the living room.
You didn’t know if you were more embarrassed because you actually told the team you’ve never had a kiss on New Year’s Eve or happy because Bucky called you pretty.
If it was anyone else you wouldn’t even think twice about it, but coming from him it just felt like you were being complimented for the first time ever.
Everytime you thought about it you felt all warm and fuzzy inside, and at this point the moment was pretty much on loop in your mind.
The more you think about it the more you feel your face heat up, sleep not coming easily as you slip into Bucky filled dreams.
The next day everybody’s hanging out in the living room, most of them nursing a hangover from last night. You get ready for a last minute shopping trip to try and find a new dress for New Year’s Eve.
When you get to the living room you see Steve grinning at a disgruntled Tony, Wanda, Sam and Natasha who are obviously very hangover and nowhere near as amused as the blonde supersoldier.
Bucky’s attention is on you as soon as you're in his field of vision and no one fails to notice it, except you of course, your own attention on Wanda and Natasha sprawled on the couch.
“Well, I was gonna ask you if you wanted to come shopping with me,” you start watching from one to the other, as amused as Steve at everyone’s inability to contain themselves when drinking. “but I don’t think that’s happening.”
“Bite me, YLN.” Is all Nat says.
Wanda, on the other hand, is a little gentler. “I can come with you, if you want.” she says sweetly.
“That’s okay, Wands.” you smile at her “just rest and drink lots of water.”
You turn around, saying bye to everyone and making your way out. As soon as the doors of the elevator close, everyone turns to Bucky that's not even pretending not to be staring anymore.
Not that anyone could ignore the longing look on Bucky’s face as he watches you walk away.
“Buck,” Steve starts talking, glancing at everyone before setting his gaze back on his best friend. “we need to talk.”
“Okay…” he slowly drags out, unsure if he even wants Steve to keep going.
“Well, we’ve been noticing some things lately…” He’s unsure of how to say this. “Between you and Y/N.”
Bucky’s cheeks start to turn a slight shade of pink, but he’s still not sure where Steve’s going with this so he says nothing.
“So we thought” he gestures around at everybody. “that maybe we should-”
“We know you like her, and we want to help you get with her.” Tony interrupts Steve, quickly getting to the point.
At Steve’s glare, Tony merely raises his hands in surrender saying, “Listen, Capsicle, I’m way too hungover to take the panoramic route. Let’s just get this over with.”
“Yeah, Stark’s right.” Sam says, turning Bucky whose face is fully red now. “You have a weak ass game, man. Let us help you.”
They all look at the brunette supersoldier while waiting for his answer. He chews on his lip while looking at the expectant faces of his friends, before letting out a deep sigh.
“How would you even help me?” He says quietly, neither accepting nor denying their help just yet.
“Well, we know Y/N,” Wanda says.
“Yeah, we can tell you what turns her on.” Natasha smirked, before Wanda flicks her ear making her let out an ‘ow’ with a slight pout.
“What she means is,” she glares at Natasha “we can tell you what she likes, you know. Maybe help you get closer to her.”
Bucky shakes his head lightly “This is not a good idea. And it doesn’t even matter if she doesn’t like me.”
Wanda and Natasha seem to have a silent conversation, ending with Natasha raising her eyebrow at Wanda and Wanda just sighing with a soft ‘fine’.
“She does like you.” Wanda turns back to Bucky.
“She’s just convinced that you don’t like her like that.” Natasha says with a roll of her eyes.
Bucky still wasn’t completely convinced, but he agreed nonetheless. Maybe it was the glimmer of hope the girls gave him, but if there was even the slightest chance you could actually like him, he owed it to himself to try.
So he let the team make a plan to get you guys together, hoping to god he wouldn’t come to regret it.
You come home a few hours later, super excited to have found the perfect dress for the party the next night.
Bucky thought you were just so cute, all smiles and giggles.
Wanda and Nat talked you into having the last girls night of the year, although it didn’t really take much convincing.
And so the plan begins.
You’re relaxing on your bed, Wanda lying next to you, your head on her lap, and Nat sprawled on the love seat near the window close to your bed.
You’re wearing bathrobes, sheet masks on your faces as you watch a cheesy romcom that you’re so embarrassingly into you don’t even notice the girls exchange a look and nod at each other.
Wanda clears her throat and then begins talking, as casually as she can. “So, how come you never told us you never had a New Year’s kiss?”
They had to approach the subject somehow, right?
“I don’t know,” you say absentmindedly and then shrug, your attention still on the Tv. “didn’t think it was important.”
“Sure it isn’t.” Nat said, and her tone took your attention away from the movie for the first time since it started.
“What’s that supposed to mean, Tasha?” she simply shrugs, an innocent look in the face.
“It doesn’t mean anything” she says, her attention seemingly on the movie “I mean, if it doesn’t bother you, it doesn’t bother me.”
“Why would it bother me?” you frown, you don't understand what's so weird about this.
“Well, some people might find it a little…” Wanda trails off.
“Sad?” Natasha ends for her.
“It’s not like I’ve never kissed anyone.” you're starting to get a little defensive.
“We know that, sweetie.” Wanda coos, stroking your hair while you look up at her.
“We really didn’t mean anything by it.” Natasha ends, giving you an apologetic look.
“Yeah, whatever.” is all you say, and you turn your eyes back to the tv, your attention nowhere near it.
Natasha and Wanda can basically hear the gears turn in your head and give each other one last glance.
Part one of the plan is complete.
The next day goes through like usual, the team spending basically the whole morning together.
It’s a tradition, having the last breakfast of the year together, watching the last movie, having the last lunch and so on. Doing all the lasts together.
It’s silly, but it’s a tradition you've all come to be very fond of.
The afternoon comes and you and the girls spend it getting ready for the party, last night’s conversation almost forgotten.
Almost.
As you got to the party the music was deafening before you even stepped out of the elevator and, once you did, you were immediately immersed in a sea of perfume and cologne and, like every other Stark party extravaganza, you didn’t know about 98% of the people there.
You quickly find the team, as outgoing as most of them are, you usually spend most of the night together because it’s the last night of the year, last party and, again, it's your tradition.
You talk, you joke, you laugh but the more you drink the more you keep thinking about your conversation with the girls last night.
Was it really that sad that you’ve never started a new year with a kiss?
Midnight came sooner than you would’ve liked and your teammates decide to ask you a sobering question.
“So, who are you kissing?” Tony asks very casually.
You turn around confused, the team’s eyes all on you. “What are you talking about?”
“Oh, nobody told you?” Sam says, looking around him “We’re all kissing someone tonight.”
“I- You- What?” you glance towards Bucky so quickly he almost thought he imagined it.
“Well, Romanoff is kissing Rogers, I’m obviously kissing Pepper and Wanda is kissing Wilson.” Tony said, before specifying while pointing at the last two “As friends, obviously.”
“So, you’re all kissing someone?” You look at everyone except the one person you actually want to look at.
Something inside of you just believes that he would nod too and a beautiful woman that you could never compare to would appear at his side.
“Well,” Steve starts. “not all of us…”
He trails off and, following his gaze, you land on the very pair of blue eyes you were trying to avoid.
Suddenly everyone else scatters and it was just you and Bucky. You don't know what to say, but you feel like you can't look away from him now.
What the hell is happening to you?
You’re talking before you can even stop yourself “You know, we could also kiss. As friends.” you add, realizing what you just said, your eyes wide with your own surprise.
He’s about to say something, but you don’t give him a chance to get a sound out before you’re backtracking so fast you might actually fall out the window.
“You don’t have to. Obviously. It’s not like I’d make you.” you chuckled awkwardly, but you can’t stop yourself from rambling “Unless you wanted to. But why would you want to? It’s not like you’re missing anything. I’m not anything special.”
You can hear the countdown starting, but it sounds distant to your ears as your heart pounds faster. “I mean, I’m sure you’re a good kisser. Why wouldn’t you be? Not that you’re like a lady’s man.”
Bucky glances around him, the team giving him encouraging looks as they near zero and you just keep going “But like you were, you know. Not that it’s a bad thi-”
You're thankfully interrupted abruptly by Bucky’s lips on yours just as everyone yells ‘Happy New Year’ and gold and black confetti starts falling down on you.
You can't even begin to comprehend what's happening but your body does, kissing him back almost immediately.
It feels like forever and also too soon when he pulls away, you can't even hearing the chaos around you anymore.
All that exists is you and Bucky and his eyes and his arms around your waist and yours around his neck and his lips that you wanted to kiss again and kiss forever and never stop.
“You have no idea how long I’ve been wanting to do that” he says after a few seconds. Or maybe days. Weeks? Hours? It doesn’t matter.
All that matters is the bright smile he gives you when you say “Me too.”
He kisses you again, but this time the spell is broken by the team’s whistles and cheers.
When you pull away you’re both blushing a little, you glance around you and see all the smug faces of the idiots you love to death, Bucky’s attention never leaving you.
“And by the way,” Bucky says, gaining your attention once more. “you have more qualities than you think,” he then pointed at your chest “You have this.”
You looked down to where he was pointing before saying “I do have great tits, yes.”
When you looked back at him he was blushing even harder and looked like he was having a hard time maintaining eye contact, while you were more relaxed now that the kiss took away all the awkwardness, but trying hard not to laugh.
“... I meant heart” he said after a few moments of silence.
“Either or.” you answered, shrugging and when you heard the snickers of the team around you, you couldn’t help but join them, followed by a still blushing Bucky.
Yep, this year is definitely gonna be an interesting one.

Tumblr media
“I hate you.”
“It’ll pass.”
“No I actually hate you.”
Bucky sighs as he slumps into the hard chair he keeps saying he’s going to get rid of. A glass of whiskey dangles from his hand that is draped over the chair’s arm.
“You don’t hate me, doll. I don’t think you even have it in you to hate me or anyone for that matter.”
From my spot curled up in the chair opposite of him, I glower at him. I’m trying to get him to agree to the half baked plan I came up with trying to sleep last night but he’s not budging. All I need him to do is pretend to be my boyfriend for a wedding this weekend. I already have the backstory for us figured out and I even came up with a few ways for us to break up. All he needs to do is sit pretty, remember our story, and pretend to be in love with me.
“Don’t ‘doll’ me, Barnes. I could not hate you more than I do right now.” I try to sound serious but it’s like a toddler trying to say hospital; it doesn’t sound right no matter how many times I try.
He takes a sip of his drink, eyeing me as the nasty liquid slips past his lips and down his throat. I’ve never understood how he can drink something that tastes so awful and burns going down.
“What about Sam? I can pay him to do it.”
Groaning, I throw my head back and squeeze my eyes shut.
“No Bucky. It has to be you. Sam’s great but I-kind-of-already-told-everyone-about-you.” The last part is incredibly rushed and I really hope that he didn’t hear it.
My hopes are crushed though. He coughs and chocks on his whiskey.
“I’m sorry. You did what now?” He rasps out in a scratchy voice.
“Dont make me say it again.”
I hear him get up and softly approach me. His shoes make almost no sound as he walks across the Persian rug he let me pick out last year. He told me his office needed updating and handed me his black card. Obviously I had to buy everything that I wanted so that when he wanted to update again, I could take it all home.
Bucky crouches in front of me and puts his hands on my knees. My head lolls forward and I stare down at him with puppy dog eyes. It’s not going to work but it’s worth a shot.
“No, no doll put those away.” He whispers to me with a light squeeze to my knees, “now tell me what you did again.”
“I already told everyone about you.”
“And who is everyone?”
“Buckyyyy,” I whine and try to pull my legs away but he holds them in place. “Please don’t be mean right now.”
He chuckles at my manipulation. Shaking his head, he stands up and leans over me, placing a hand on either side of my chair. His cologne is faint after his long day but I can still smell hints of its vanilla and tobacco notes.
“If you want me to play your boyfriend then you’ll have to toughen up. I can’t have my girl,” he murmurs as he brushes those plump lips against my cheekbone, “crying the second I tell her no.”
My heart stutters when he starts to trail light kisses from my cheek to the corner of my lips. Like a true tease, he skips over to the other corner and then kisses the tip of my nose.
“Can you do that for me?”
“Are you going to come with me?” I shoot back.
Bucky smirks against my lips. “Of course I am, doll.”

One Week - B.Barnes x reader
PART 1
PART 3
Here is part two my loves, there will be a final 3rd part,
TW: suicide, death, character death, breakup, general sadness, suicide notes, swearing.
(also I won't be making a taglist for the next part so please turn notifs on so you don't miss it!)
Bucky couldn’t watch, he had resulted to cleaning the blood from between the joints on his metal hand. The quinjet hummed slowly, providing little comfort to Bucky’s swirling thoughts.  Steve and Wanda were talking quietly, not quietly enough for Bucky’s liking.
“Did you read yours?” Steve asked, gesturing to the letter that Wanda had clutched in her hand
“No, I won’t. She wrote it for me to read when she wasn’t here. She is here. I don’t need to read it” Wanda said sadly, her letter was still sealed in the envelope with her name neatly swirled on the front. Her eyes fell on Y/N’s sleeping frame, Tony had taken the decision to sedate her, she had refused to be taken out of the cell, still clutching desperately to the hope of death. They had all tried their hardest to level with her, but nothing worked, everyone had tried their best, everyone except Bucky. He couldn’t find a single word to say to her as she was desperately asking everyone to kill her.
“We will be landing at the compound in ten minutes” Tony said to nobody in particular but everyone stopped and listened
“I think we should take her to a hospital” Nat said calmly, she was too calm for Bucky’s liking. He couldn’t understand how she wasn’t tearing herself apart for letting Y/N get to this state.
“She needs to be at home” Tony said firmly
“The compound isn’t her home” Nat answered curtly
“It used to be” Wanda mused, thinking of the days that Y/N had spent wandering around the compound as she watched Bucky training, or cooking together, it used to be her home.
“It isn’t now” Clint agreed with Nat, “A few months ago I would have said the same Tony, but now, well now she needs to be at a hospital. She needs to be given the choice to come back with us”
“Cap?” Tony asked,
“I agree” Steve said,
“So do I” Sam added,
Bucky stayed silent.
“Fine, I’ll reroute to the hospital” Tony said with a sigh.
“Mr Stark, Dr Cho told me you were on your way, I’m Doctor Simmonds, I’ll be treating Y/N today,” A doctor said meeting Tony at the entrance door to the Quinjet,
“You need to treat this girl as though she’s one of ours, understand?” Tony said firmly,
“I understand” He said simply following a few nurses as they placed Y/N onto a stretcher and carried her into the hospital, “Can you tell me the extent of her injuries?” He asked
“We haven’t examined her” Nat interrupted, “She was held for around 23 hours, we are unsure of what happened.”
“I understand, now if you could all wait outside. I’m going to examine her and let you know what I’ve found” He said as he disappeared behind a closed door that Y/N was lying behind.
“We should have gone in with her” Steve said,
“He needs to do his job, and we need to wait” Wanda softly said, there was a nervous edge to her words, Bucky picked up on it.
“Coffee anyone?” Nat suggested, a few nodded, “Bucky come help me” She said
“You can handle it” Bucky said his gaze still on the floor
“Now Bucky” Nat left no room for argument and Bucky followed her silently through the halls. “You need to tell me what happened” She said firmly
“I don’t know what you mean” Bucky replied
“When you broke up, what the hell happened?” Nat said, her eyes flaming with something Bucky didn’t want to deal with
“We broke up” he said bluntly “There isn’t anything else to say”
“You’ve been seeing other people whilst she’s been planning her suicide” She whispered fiercely, “What the hell did you do to her?”  It was one of the only times Bucky had seen Nat loose her cool in such a dramatic way,
“Nothing happened” He reiterated simply
“Don’t be that guy” nat snapped, “Five coffee’s please, black, double shot in all of them” She said to the girl stood starstruck behind the counter
“Look, nothing happened” Bucky said “We split”
“Who made the decision?”
“I did” he replied, his eyes fixating on his boots once more,
“Why?”
“We didn’t work together, do you need a full rundown on my life?” He snapped louder than he wanted,
“Just on your breakup” Nat replied quickly, “Why didn’t you work?”
“I couldn’t do it, she was too much.” He didn’t mean it, he didn’t know how he could explain it in any other way to Nat
“Too much how?”
“Here you are” the girl behind the counter placed the coffees down, Nat muttered a thank you.
“I like my life, I like being alone. I enjoy coming home alone. I don’t need anyone else in my life to look after,” He snapped,
“You’re not telling the truth” Nat whispered “You forget, I used to be the best interrogator that SHIELD had ever seen. I see through you Bucky, and whatever you did to hurt that girl—”
“I told her I didn’t love her,” he whispered “I told her she was too much for me. Told her that she was naive and young and stupid.  I said that I didn’t want to deal with her or look after her or have to love her”
“Why would you do that?”
“Because I was scared, she is good. She is innocent, and kind, and gentle, and she kissed me as if I was good too. I’m not. So I ended things, and I said things that I won’t ever repeat because the words already haunt me enough” he sighed “I dated those girls after her because they weren’t good people, or nice people, I suited them better, there wasn’t anything to ruin. With Y/N, I was killing her slowly and she didn’t even know it” Bucky said, his chest heaving once he finished ,
“Bucky” Nat started,
“I needed her to hate me” He said softly,
“You failed” Tony said from behind him, “I came to help get the coffee” He explained once Nat gave him a confused look “She doesn’t hate you, she hates herself. I dread to think what she’s been thinking of herself the past few months because of you”
“Tony enough” Nat stopped him
“Y/N is lying in a hospital bed sedated because he was a coward” Tony snapped, “When she wakes up, you best hope that she forgives you, because if there’s a shred of anything other than forgiveness in her words I will kill you” He said turning and walking away. His words were calm, and collected, Bucky knew he was sincere. It should have scared him, but it didn’t.
“Mr Stark?” Dr Simmonds asked coming out of Y/N’s room,
“How is she?” Tony stood up from the uncomfortable plastic chair,
“We need to admit her to an inpatient facility” His voice made Bucky’s blood run cold, “In order to do this I need a signature from her next of kin” he continued to explain, “I reached out to her sister, who is on file as her next of kin, except it seems that she passed away a few months back and I need to know if there are any other living relatives for me to contact for permission” The room went silent,
“Her sister died?” Wanda parroted
“According to our records around ten months ago” Dr Simmonds said,
“She doesn’t have any other family, her parents died when she was little and her sister was all she had left” Bucky said stoically
“This isn’t the answer you’re going to want to hear but without a next of kin I can’t admit her” Dr Simmonds explained softly
“We can look after her at the compound” Tony said,
“Tony, we can’t make a decision like that without talking to her” Steve cut in.
“I agree with the Captain, Mr Stark. She’s still drowsy from the sedation but uprooting her in the state she’s in isn’t a good idea”
“What state is she in?” Nat asked
“She’s malnourished, dehydrated, exhausted. Nothing physically wrong apart from a few minor lacerations and bruising, but she’s not been taking care of herself. If you hadn’t told me she’d only been taken for 24 hours I’d have guessed it would have been at least 3 months” He explained
“She’s depressed” Tony muttered softly
“Without talking to her at length I can’t make that diagnosis, she’s clearly grieving her sister. Amongst other things but I don’t know what those are yet. I’ve asked for psych to come and give her a full examination just so we know what we are dealing with. But without a next of kin, my hands are tied”
“What about an old next of kin?” Bucky asked slowly,
“Y/N would have to sign off on it, are you a past next of kin for her?” The Dr asked, eyeing Bucky with a look of distain, the pieces clicking into place slowly. Bucky nodded, “I’d have to check with the board” The Dr explained.
“Can we see her?” Wanda asked changing the subject quickly.
“I will ask her, but I’m not promising anything” Dr Simmonds said with a nod, retuning back behind the closed door.
The next few minutes were painful, nobody dared to sit down in case Y/N asked to see them. Bucky could hear muffled voices behind the door and it killed him that Y/N was so close but he couldn’t reach her, he wouldn’t dare to reach her in case of anything making her worse.
“Mr Stark” Dr Simmonds said stepping out the room, “She has agreed to see you”
Tony didn’t say a word and instead followed the doctor through the door and into the room. Y/N was sat in bed, restraints lay idle on the bed, untied, Tony’s eyes went straight to them.
“They took them off about an hour ago” She said quietly, knowing what Tony was thinking.
“How are you feeling?” He asked carefully sitting in a plastic chair that had been placed at her bedside,
“I’m sorry” She said, calmly.
“None of that” Tony said firmly, patting her hand comfortingly
“I didn’t want anyone to know, I just needed it to be over” She said “And then they came and it seemed like the best way out. I’m sorry I put you through all that”
“You don’t need to apologise,” Tony said “Let me help you, please?”
“I’ve spoken to the doctor, lots of doctors and I’m okay. Really. I’m okay” She promised sincerely
“They want to admit you” Tony said slowly, watching as Y/N’s face fell,
“They said”
“They can’t though, because of your next of kin. They need a signature and it—”
“She’s dead” Y/N bluntly whispered
“I would like for you to come and live at the compound for the next few weeks, just until you get back on your feet” He said softly
“I won’t put you or anyone else through that”
“You mean Bucky” Tony said, he knew it was risky to bring him up but he needed to know how best to help Y/N.
Y/N’s eyes glazed over sadly, and she pulled her knees up to her chest.
“This isn’t his fault. Believe it or not the breakup was actually probably the least bad thing that happened this year” She said with a half hearted chuckle,
“I’m sorry, I should have been there for you” Tony said, “everyone is here to help. Just let us look after you for a week. That’s all”
“I promise I’m okay”
“I know you are, I need to do this for me, let me help” Tony said, it was a lie. He needed to know that Y/N was somewhere safe and once she was there for a week he could convince her to stay longer, he was sure of it.
“One week”
“One week” Tony nodded.
Tony had instructed Wanda, Bucky and Steve to set up a room for Y/N whilst he filled out some paperwork for Y/N.
“How are you feeling?” Steve asked Bucky as they walked through the empty compound, towards one of the guest rooms,
“I don’t think you should be asking me that” Bucky kept his eyes trained on the ground. His shoulders hunched,
“This is as hard on you as it is on her” Wanda said
“It’s not, I never tried to end my life. I made her do that. It was my words that forced her into that position” Bucky said, his filter had gone, he was bleeding raw emotions onto the floor of the compound and he couldn’t stop.
“That wasn’t your fault, you can’t stay with someone just in case they get depressed when you leave. That’s basically blackmail” Steve said
“She didn’t deserve this. I promised her I’d be with her for the rest of her life. I swore she’d never be alone again and then I left. I’m no better than anyone else in her life”
“She doesn’t hate you” Wanda said,
“What?” Bucky asked,
“I read the letter, I didn’t think I was going to but I couldn’t stop myself” Wanda said pulling it out of her pocket “but she told me that it wasn’t your fault”
“Stop” Bucky said,
“Bucky she didn’t do it because of you” Wanda said
“She needs some plants in here” Bucky said firmly as they opened up the door to Y/N’s new room,
“Buck” Steve started
“And her fairy lights, on the ceiling, she likes them to look like stars” Bucky continued. “We don’t have very long, we need to get started”

Part 1 | Part 2 (You're here!)
Prev | Next | Masterlist
Tumblr media
When you had asked Bucky to cat sit Apollo, you weren't sure if he'd agree. You were friends, well, coffee-buddies but you weren't sure if it was too big of an ask.
You'd known Bucky for two months now. After finding Alpine for him, you'd begun to have regular playdates at eachother's apartments with your respective fur babies and sharing stories and discussions over coffee. You'd been texting more recently too. Sending eachother videos from Tiktok and YouTube, or articles on cat caring tips (occasionally branching out into a topic you had briefly discussed).
Nevertheless, when you had a family emergency and called Bucky, he'd immediately agreed. You'd thanked him profusely and he kept saying it was no problem. After all, he knew Apollo. Apollo knew him. Alpine and Apollo enjoyed being around one another so it was like one big play date for them. You told Bucky he could take your bed but he'd refused, insisting the sofa was fine and if he needed to he'd head home to his apartment for a few hours sleep.
You'd left in a rush, kissing Apollo's head goodbye, then Alpine’s before giving Bucky a strange, awkward pat on the arm.
"It'll be alright doll, promise." He reassured you, giving you a small smile. You smiled wryly back as you headed out the door.
"I hope so."
The day you left all was well. It was the days following that were absolute hell.
The second day you were gone, Apollo was now restless. He'd jumped onto Bucky's sleeping form at 4am, startling him awake. It only got worse after that.
Apollo paced around the apartment, miaowing loudly the whole day. He walked over Bucky's laptop while working on a mission report, typing random letters and numbers all over the word document. Bucky huffed at him, but he was hardly annoyed. If anything his heart melted over the display. Bucky had sent you photos and videos of the displays of neediness, to which you had texted your thanks with any updates.
You: He's never been like that with anyone before.
You: You must be special Buck :)
Bucky's heart fluttered at your texts. He had been enjoying to get to know you these last two months; even more so knowing that Alpine had liked you too. He had been trying to find a way to develop your relationship, maybe by asking you for more than a coffee or a kitty playdate. It had been hard to find the courage to ask and everytime seemed like the wrong time. Especially now that you were probably worried sick over your family.
Tumblr media
On the third day, you had told Bucky you weren't sure how long you were going to be. Maybe another two or three days. Great.
Apollo had already woke Bucky up at 4am again and was desperately vying for his attention. Bucky scratched the back of his ear, letting Apollo settle onto him with a rumbling purr.
"I got you, pal." Bucky said quietly, trying to fall back to sleep. "I got you."
By the afternoon of the third day, Alpine was on duty for Apollo care. Bucky had already lost him in the morning after feeding him and had found him curled up on your bed. After ensuring the door was shut, Bucky had to leave for a quick briefing with Sam, leaving Alpine in charge.
Alpine had tried cuddling with Apollo, cleaning his fur in an attempt to relax him, but that was in vain. Her tail twitched in annoyance as the younger cat bounded around the apartment, discontent that his paw-rent was missing.
He'd wrestled her, bit her, meowed at her and her patience was wearing thin. It wasn't until he'd clambered up Bucky's leg on his return, that Alpine vocalised her annoyance to Bucky; who patted her head and told her it was only for a little while longer. She was beginning to rethink her and Apollo's grand plan entirely.
On the fourth day of your depature, Bucky was working from your kitchen counter with a freshly brewed coffee. Again, he'd been woken at 4am. This was his third coffee of the morning.
Tired was an understatement.
Bucky sighed, running his flesh hand over his face. Apollo bumped his face against the back of his palm, mewling softly. He hadn't left Bucky's side all morning, following him like his shadow whilst Alpine scowled from her perch on the cat tree you'd bought for them.
"Hi Apollo." Bucky murmured as Apollo bumped him again, rubbing up against his hands with his thing tail curling around Bucky's face. Apollo turned on his tip toes (tip toe-beans?) and repeated the action again. Bucky tried to be agitated but he found he couldn't. Apollo had never been nearly as affectionate as this with him in the last two months, so he must really be missing you. Although, Bucky had to admit, he was feeling the void of your absence too. Not being able to text you as often was more frustrating than he'd thought it'd be. He wondered how you were doing... maybe he should text you again? Just to make sure of course.
As he's lost in thought, Apollo’s leg brushes against Bucky's mug and with a startled kick, Apollo knocks the mug over.
All over Bucky.
Bucky jumps to his feet with a yell, startling both cats who disappear instantly. Bucky curses, tugging at his shirt and trying to clamber out of his jeans that are covered in scalding hot coffee. It's worse that he looks like he'd pissed himself, but those were his last clean clothes that he'd worn back from his apartment the night before after meeting with Sam.
Bucky huffs inspecting the red welts from the coffee that had been left on his stomach, thankfully avoiding any lower. He paces to your washer and tosses in the ruined jeans and white shirt. You weren't back for another two days. He'd have to just wash his clothes and be in his boxers for today. Great. Just great. Oh well, it could have been worse.
Click.
It got worse.
Bucky has seconds to react as the lock to your apartment clicks and you swing open the door. He grabs the nearest possible thing to cover himself with, a frying pan, and attempts to move out of sight.
Your halfway through the door when you meet Bucky’s wide, fearful blue eyes and red face. You stop and stare.
He stares back.
"That's my good pan," you say dumbly. You're not sure what you've walked into but it's the weirdest welcome home you've ever had.
Bucky makes a strangled noise in his throat. You probably wouldn't want to ever see him again, let alone go on a date. The earth should just tear open and swallow him whole. How could he even begin to explain this without sounding like a moron?
You avert your eyes and shut the door behind you. You want to burst into a fit of laughter but are trying to hold back for Bucky's sake; he looks ready to combust. You see the mug and coffee spill over the counter and the violent tumble of the washer allows you piece together what happened.
You point at the mess on the counter, looking over to him. "Spill your mug?"
"Yes." Bucky gritted out, gripping the pan so tightly he thought he might snap the handle. He's still looking at the floor, unable to meet your eyes.
"Okay." You nod. This was such a strange situation to navigate.
Apollo chirped, brushing against your leg and Bucky glared at him.
"Hi baby," you say softly, picking him up to cradle him in your arms. You take note that his paws are wet and smell like coffee. "Ah, you were not well behaved for Bucky I see."
Bucky clears his throat. "How - uh - was your family?..."
Your lips twitch again as you fuss Apollo.
Don't laugh. Don't laugh.
Bucky is trying so hard to be nonchalant as if he isn't half naked in your kitchen, covering himself with a frying pan.
"Good," you respond, biting your lips again trying to suppress a laugh. "Stay there."
You let Apollo jump to the floor and head to your room quickly, reappearing with a soft and fluffy bathrobe that you hand to Bucky. He takes it with his free hand, face the colour of a raspberry.
"You owe me a LOT of coffee for this." You tease, turning away so he can slip on the bathrobe with some semblance of privacy. And place your good pan back onto the stove.
Bucky groans softly, tying the robe tightly at his waist. "I'll do you one better, how about I owe you dinner?"
Your eyebrows raise and you smile, turning back to him to respond with an excitable yes but when you turn to look at him, the laughter you had tried to suppress escapes you, and you burst into a fit of uncontrollable laughter.
Bucky's surprised, and a little hurt; still embarassed and vulnerable from this whole ordeal. You're gasping for breath in front of him, hands on your knees. You know you should respond but you're struggling too.
Somehow the robe looks worse than him being half naked. It barely brushes the middle of his thighs and is so fluffy he looks like he's wearing an oversized fur coat. Your howling starts to make Bucky chuckle, but when your gleaming, teary eyes meet his, he's laughing along with you.
"I'd love to go to dinner." You say finally, wiping tears from your eyes and sighing as you regain the ability to breathe. "Sorry I didn't tell you I'd be home early. I didn't expect you to be here."
Bucky's stomach flips in excitement. You'd said yes. Even thought he'd protected what little dignity he had left with your good pan.
"Yeah, sorry about... the pan."
That starts you giggling again, the image of his shocked face and the pan in front of him etched into your memory forever.
"How about we order some take out and watch a movie? I don't think I'll be using my pan anytime soon." You straighten up, your own cheeks a little rosy. "We can go out another time. But you can let your clothes dry, at least."
"Take out's good." He nods, grinning at you. "And that's a good plan."
You both take a moment, admiring eachother quietly before Bucky adds,
"Do you have anything longer I can wear, though?"

Random Thoughts - Ass , Tits , Thighs
There are three kind of people. Ass guy , a tits guy and a thighs guy.
Steve is a tits guy. He loves his partners chest. No matter how small or how big. He loved them. Even if they are pecks any size he loves. Loving to touch , kiss, lick whatever it might be. He especially loved laying on the chest of his partner. Even if you think you have nothing for him to lay on he still wants to lay on them and finds the most joy in doing so.
If your a female and your wearing a low cut shirt that might show off any kinds of chevage , he is not paying attention. At all. His eyes and mind are only focused on one thing.
"Steve!" Y/n snapped as she was trying to get his attention as she was trying to talk to him about a case. He kept humming like he agreed but he wasn't listening as he stared at her chest. Till she finally pulled her shirt up to hide her cleavages. Making his finally focus on what she's saying.
If your a guy and your working out without a shirt. Steve is off to the side drooling. Just watching the pecks move and flex as you work out.
"Steve?!" Y/n called out as he was bench pressing and Steve was suppose to be spotting him. But Steve seemed out of it as he stared down at Y/n's chest. As he was shirtless. But now he was struggling to push the bar up as he added more weight and needed Steve's help. "Steve!" Y/n yelled as he finally got Steve to snap out of it and help. "I'm wearing a shirt from now on when I work out with you". Y/n said groaning as he sat up. Which Steve pouted at.
Bucky is an Ass man. Like Steve he doesn't care what size of ass. If it was more muscled or round or even a bit floppy. He doesn't care. He just likes them. He loved to have his hand on his partners ass at almost all times. And as his partner you better be prepared for him to slap your ass all the time. He also loved to lay on his partners ass as they lay on their stomach. Although be careful cause he will bit your ass. Even try to leave his teeth marks on your ass.
If your a female good luck getting around to anything if you wear leggings. He will be on you and not leaving you alone the whole day. having you pressed against his front or even having his hand on your ass.
This can be for a guy too if your a guy to wear leggings. But more for a guy he loves watching his boyfriend walk around in his boxer. Those like tight athletic feeling ones. The ones that are almost tight against the skin and end a little below the fold of the ass.
female or male if your doing any kind of squats in front of him, good luck! Cause he is going to be pressed up against you.
"Bucky!" Y/n groaned. As they were trying to do some weighted squats. Bucky agreed to spot , which they knew better then to agree to. But there they were now they were getting ready to pick up the bar but Bucky wouldn't step back. Finally he steps back letting them do the squats. But as soon as Y/n reracks the bar even if its just to take a small break in between sets. Bucky steps back up against them again.
Sam is a Thighs guy. Like the other two , does NOT care what size they are. He is going to be touching up on them, kissing them and so on. Your inner thighs will always be covered in bit marks and hickies. He also loves to lay and sleep on your lap. They are his nap spot. On Sundays he loves to take a nap right on your thighs. He does not care if you are doing something he will pull you away to sit on the couch as he lays his head on your thighs to go to sleep.
If your a male or female if you put on those like thigh high socks and you pull them up and some of your thighs is spilling up over the socks, he's losing it. Kneeling to you and acting like a dog for you.
There is also no way you can sit that won't have him going crazy. Have your legs cross and your thighs squish together he's going crazy. Especially if your a male and you sit in that male way of leaning back with your legs spread. He's on his knees with a nose bleed.
He once paid Bucky to dare you to crush a watermelon between your legs. Even if you can't crush the watermelon, Sam is drooling. Just watching as your thighs wrap around the watermelon and flex squeezing the watermelon. It seconds he's pulling you away from the watermelon and to his room to ask you to squeeze his head like you did that watermelon.
That's it Just my thoughts on the guys!-MM

~ Ties that bind ~
Bucky x reader- arranged marriage.
Summary: You agreed to arrange marriage when you were little, after seeing who you are to marry. You wish you could go back.
WARNINGS: mentions of boobs lol, James trying to flirt if you squint, Sharon being a bitch, swearing..
(Spelling may be bad as I'm very dyslexic sorry in advance)
Tumblr media
2:15. That's the time James said he'll pick you up, and he asked you to be ready. It's 2:53, and you've decided to go for a shower instead.
Slipping your hand into the shower you turn it on trying not to get wet, which you succeed in doing, you lay the shower mat on the floor and look at your self in the mirror before undressing, you step into the now steamy hot shower wetting your hair completely before grabbing your shampoo and washing the roots of your hair. You like shampooing twice before leaving in your conditioner just a smudge so your hair soft, you take a comb but just as you about to start you hear voices come from your room, which is strange as noone really comes in bar you so you were a little confused until you hear them, a deep scruffy voice then you think you hear your bed moving, Is someone laying on it? You thought, you were slowly combing the conditioner in the ends of your hair when you hear a grunt but a deep grunt, you wondered who could be bothering you as it hit you, James motherfucking Barnes. It's been a couple of days since the meeting, and you don't have a James number, but you do have natashas. You were aware that James, Sam and Steve, who ever they may be were talking about all this as Nat over heard but all she said was he were tied, you didn't really care but you do know they Sharon has moved into a spare room on almost the opposite side from the master bedroom, and that one of James few rules were that we were to sleep in the same bed ect ect...
You finish your shower, putting your hair up in a towel, drying yourself and putting on a silk robe, you smirk to yourself as you remembered the last time you saw James were when he ran in to sign a couple papers at the front door and you heard shanon call you a attention seeking where and a man stealing slut, but now here's her man on your bed, without her knowledge, you giggle and unlock the door, breathing quickly and walking out calmly.
You glance over at James and around your room, you see his black blazer hanger on your beauty chair, him laying on your bed, shoes thrown next to it, in an look black shirt and trousers look, shirt slightly unbuttoned, with a shit eating grin on his face. While you, on the other hand, were in a short red silk robe and damp hair wrapped in a black towel, you pull the towel from your head, letting your damp hair, which is slowly shrinking flow free.
James grin slowly falters as his eyes seductively graze across your wet freshly waxed legs and the little bit of cleavage showing, once back to your face he study it like a text book, "if I'd had known you were showering, I would have ran here myself" he speaking proudly like he won a race, a race he ran by himself.
You giggle, slowly making your way to one of the bed posts making sure to sway your hips a little, leaning on the post you pout slowly, "if you were here faster I wouldn't have showered here, maybe at yours but as your late" you check the clock and see its 3:35 "I had to shower here" you continue pout but you weren't sad or annoyed he was late, or he was on your bed, you were more annoyed that hw aas flirting with you becuase he has a girlfriend, you disliked Sharon but no woman should have to know her boyfriend is flirting with another girl, and that he will marry her, no no no no.
Smirking at James as you yourself off the post and walk round the bed next to James, pushing the double doors to enter your closet humming as the smell of diffrent fabrics and soft smells enter your nose, you jump slightly as you feel you large hand on your hip, looking up to see James with a shocked expression on his face. You get an idea in your head, slowly turning to the broad man behind you, grabbing his chin gently with one hand, pulling him down to look at you.
"Go on, mister you get free range" you laugh to yourself as you walk back into your main bed room almost to your bed when you look behind you, still walking, to see James even more confused still standing in the door way, getting to the side of your bed you quickly start explaining before you lose confidence. "You said you wanted to atleast look like a happy couple, so I want you to go mad and dress me" you smile happily as you slowly start sliding down on your side, praying your still atleast a little covered but it didn't take James long to smile like a teenage boy looking at boobs for the first time and disappear into your walk in closet.
Once he's gone, you breathe and wonder where your confidence came from, then you feel bad for Sharon bit then remember she called you a whole and slut multiple times so feel less bad. You grab your phone and see nat texted you 3 times, and the one you can see from your unlocked screen says 'don't feel bad' so when you unlock and see that rest you feel less bad for Sharon as her messages are about how they were fighting because bucky admitted that he'd seen you years earlier at one of your fundraising events but at that time you were dating John so he didn't introduce himself and how he knew for ages she was using him for money but she was shit at hiding it and some other stuff, you replied saying you guessed so and how it was pretty obvious.
Nat: ngl you should probably start making him fall for you
You: why?
He knows she's using him
Nat: yeah but this has happened before, she'll say sorry and how she's change she'll change for a month then slowly change back.
You: oml why don't they don't break up
Like srsly it's kinda embarrassing
Nat: I've been by his side for almost 20 years, they have been together for 3 and at first she was a darling but money changes people
Also, he really loved the person she was and still thinks she's in there
Love does weird shit to us, man
You: fairs, he's picking out an outfit for me rn so I'll see 😛
What do I do just kiss him or something? I've never had to really try it. It's easy when they are already swooning
Nat: I guess, make him feel love for the rest of his life. I doubt he'll let you go
And I'll make sure of it x
You: sound
OK Nat, we met a couple of days ago, lol
Nat did send you another text, but you were by James calling your name while smiling proudly again, throwing your phone on the bed, getting up to see what he's layed out for you, walking past him you see a all black suit with some heels you turn to him nodding with a pleased expression "you did good James, but now I will be changing and you haven't gotten to the stage yet" you wink as you closed the doors but you still see the annoyed just playful gace he pulled, you turn to the suit and pick it up, seeing one of your favourite black lace lingerie sets underneath, you should be upset that he went to fair but you just giggle and started getting dressed and doing very light makeup. Once mascara, lip liner, and lip gloss were applied, you reopened the doors to see his amused, then blank expression, you walk out with your jacket folded over your arm and your shirt undone all the way to expose your bra which for being lingerie with quite covering for the most part, you smile, picking up the bag you had earlier and open your doors making your way to the front hall to where your stuff is to see all of it was gone and with James closely behind you, walking outside to the now only blacked out car there, which wasn't your fathers.
James rushed ahead to open the door for you, climbing in and you watched him walk round and open his door, your bag at your feet with your door closed and seat belt on you were ready, you knew you'd come back home sooner then later so if wasn't emotional.
"James stop staring at my boobs and driving" rolling you eyes as he starts the door and slowly pulling out, you hope it's an short ride that's not to awkward, so you look out the window as the trees go by.

Unwanted -Part 8
Paring: Wanda Maximoff x Reader
Summary: Y/N is an enhanced SHIELD agent who is forced to work with the Avengers. What happens when they discover that she’s not alone?
Tumblr media
It had been a few days since the incident, but every moment since then had felt like a lifetime. You had barely spoken to anyone, retreating into yourself to process the chaos that had unfolded. The team had kept their distance, giving you space to reflect on your actions, but you could feel their eyes on you. You were a threat. No one had said it outright, but you knew.
The device, the one that controlled the alien inside you, was gone. It had been destroyed in the midst of everything but now, with it gone, the creature was free. And you... well, you were nothing more than a vessel.
The worst part? You could still feel it. It was there, inside you, a constant pressure against your thoughts, a nagging voice at the edge of your mind, waiting for the right moment to strike.
You paced around the small, isolated room where you had been kept, anxiety gnawing at your insides. You were supposed to be better than this. You weren’t supposed to be a danger to anyone, especially not the people who had become your family.
A soft knock at the door pulled you from your thoughts. You froze for a moment, and then the door creaked open, revealing the familiar face of Wanda Maximoff. Her expression was kind, but you could see the concern behind her eyes.
"Hey," she said gently. "Can we talk?"
You swallowed hard, your voice coming out hoarse. "I don’t think I’m ready yet."
Wanda didn’t move. She stood in the doorway, watching you with a calm but unwavering gaze. "You don’t have to be ready," she replied softly. "But we need to figure this out together. All of us."
You bit your lip, anxiety crawling up your spine. "I can’t. I don’t even know what’s happening inside me. I—I almost killed you, Wanda. I can’t go through that again."
Wanda stepped forward, closing the gap between you. "You didn’t kill me," she said, her voice firm but gentle. "You didn’t hurt any of us—not really. But we can’t move forward if you stay trapped in here, alone."
Your heart hammered in your chest. The alien presence stirred inside you, like a beast rousing from sleep, but you pushed it back, clinging to Wanda’s words like a lifeline.
"I’m scared," you admitted quietly. "I don’t know how to control it. Not without the device."
Wanda’s eyes softened, and she took your hand in hers. "You’re not alone in this. We’ll help you learn to control it. All of us."
For a long moment, you simply stood there, unsure of what to do, but Wanda’s unwavering gaze filled you with something close to hope. Slowly, you nodded. "Okay. I’ll try."
The team gathered in the training room later that afternoon, a rare and unusual meeting where everyone was on edge, but there was an understanding that something had to change. Wanda had insisted on the team’s help, and after a brief discussion, they all agreed.
Tony, of course, had insisted on running diagnostics, analyzing every possible angle of the situation, but he still wore the same worried expression. Steve, who always seemed to have the patience of a saint, was quietly waiting for you to be ready. Sam kept glancing between you and the others, his usual lightheartedness replaced with an almost protective intensity. Bucky, ever watchful, stood to the side, his arms crossed, but his eyes were softened—touched by the quiet concern you saw in the others.
Wanda had taken the lead, guiding you to the center of the room. "We’ll take this slow," she said. "Start with small steps."
You felt the alien presence stir inside you again, a pressure against your chest, as if the creature was aware of what was about to happen. But you tried not to focus on it, pushing it back with everything you had. You couldn’t let it take control again.
"You’re going to be okay," Wanda reassured you, her hand resting on your shoulder.
The room was still as everyone waited. Tony, ever the strategist, stepped forward, adjusting his glasses with a furrowed brow. "We can’t be sure of the alien’s full capabilities," he said. "But we can track it. I’ll help you create a system, something that’ll allow you to have control. We’ll keep you monitored, so if anything goes wrong, we’re right there."
You swallowed hard but nodded. You couldn’t let the team down again.
Bucky stepped forward next, his voice quiet but steady. "You’re not alone in this. We’re all in this together."
Sam clapped you gently on the back. "Yeah. We’re family. No one’s going anywhere."
A knot tightened in your chest at the word family, but you couldn’t help the small flicker of warmth that spread through you at the sentiment. These people—these strange, wonderful people—were offering you something you hadn’t had in a long time: acceptance.
Wanda’s eyes never left you as she guided you to focus. "We’ll take turns," she said softly. "Everyone here will help you focus your energy, control it. We’ll start small, just like we practiced before. One step at a time."
You took a deep breath and closed your eyes, blocking out everything around you. You could feel the alien inside you, its presence trying to push forward, but this time, you were ready. This time, you wouldn’t let it control you.
You focused on Wanda’s voice, gentle and calming, urging you to breathe deeply, to center yourself. You could feel the warmth of the team around you, each of them grounding you in their own way. Tony’s calculations buzzed in the background, Sam’s quiet encouragement, Bucky’s quiet presence.
The alien inside you growled, furious at being held back, but you held your ground. You could feel it, thrashing, but this time, you wouldn’t give in. The pressure was there, but it wasn’t overwhelming. It was... manageable.
"Focus," Wanda whispered. "You control it."
A long, tense moment passed before the pressure began to dissipate, replaced by a strange, controlled energy. The alien was still there, still a part of you, but it was quieter now, dormant, waiting for your command. You opened your eyes, looking around at the team.
"You did it," Steve said, his voice full of pride.
Tony grinned. "See? Told you we’d get this under control."
But it was Wanda who came to your side, her face glowing with relief. She wrapped her arms around you, pulling you into a tight hug. "You’re not alone," she whispered. "You’ll never be alone."
And, for the first time in a long while, you believed her. There was a strange sense of belonging settling in your chest, one you hadn’t felt in years. These people—they weren’t just teammates. They were your family. Even when you’d lost your way, they were here. And they weren’t going anywhere.
With the alien contained, with the team behind you, you knew that the road ahead wouldn’t be easy. But together, you could face anything. Together, you could reclaim control—not just over the alien inside you, but over your own fate.
And maybe, just maybe, you could finally learn to trust in the one thing that had always been there: family.

Unwinding
Happens between Family and Happily Ever After
It had been a long day.  There had been an attack in Boston by a bunch of people dressed in what seemed to be beekeeper outfits.  It had taken the whole day to deal with, and we were already exhausted by the time we returned home.  The only problem was, it wasn’t just us anymore.  We had children.  Children who missed and worried about their parents when they were gone.  Especially when they were gone on a mission or into battle.  So when we got home, they were particularly needy.  We had dinner with them, watched Frozen, gave them a bath, and read stories, and by the time they were all asleep, I was well and truly exhausted.
“Okay,” I said as everyone just collapsed onto the couch.  “I think I might take a bath.  My back is killing me from being in my armor all day.”
Bucky looked up from where he was half lying on the couch.  “You want some company?”
Like me, Bucky was a big fan of taking baths.  Particularly when there was someone with him.  “Sure,” I said, holding out my hand to him.  “Come on.”
He scrambled to his feet and came and slipped his hand into mine, his cool metal fingers linking with my warm flesh ones.  “Have a nice time,” Steve said.  “We’ll see you in bed.”
We made our way upstairs to the main bathroom and while I ran the water and went about selecting a bath bomb, Bucky dimmed the lights and began lighting candles.
“I can’t decide between the rose petal one, the deep sleep one, or the muscle soak,” I said.
Bucky was bent over some candles in red jars, trying to light them, and he looked up, his hair falling over his eyes.  “No sex bomb?” he asked.
“Mm…  not tonight.  I’m not saying there will be no sex, but sex is not the aim of this particular bath,” I said.
He shrugged and held out his hand.  “That’s fair.  Let me smell them.”
I handed each of the bath bombs over to him.  “This one has peppermint, and that always does that freaky cold thing, which I hate,” he said after sniffing the first one.  I took it from him and put it back.  “There’s lavender in this one, which I know can set off headaches in you.  Not sure if it’s enough.”
“Maybe not, but I don’t want to risk it,” I agreed, taking that one from him too.  “I guess the rose one it is.”
He dropped the bomb into the tub and it immediately started fizzing and coloring the water around it pink.  I watched it for a moment and then began to strip off my clothes.  I had come out of the day fairly clean thanks to being inside my suit of armor, but Bucky was dirty.  The difference in color between the parts of his skin that had been exposed to the elements and the parts that had been covered was dramatic.  It looked like someone had painted his extremities.
Not wanting the water to get dirty immediately, I took his hand, led him to the sink, and began to carefully wash him down with a warm cloth.  Neither of us said anything.  Bucky just closed his eyes and let me move him as needed, a relaxed content look on his face.
When he was clean enough, I led him back over to the bath.  “You wanna be the little spoon?” I offered.
“Mm, no.  I’ll be big.  Thank you though,” he said and stepped into the tub.
He let out a deep groan as he sank into the water.  The rose petals had begun to be released from the bath bomb and when his knees breached the surface, a few clung to the hairs on his legs.
I climbed in after him and eased down between his legs, leaning back against his chest.
We just lay like that for a while.  My head lolled against his chest as he skimmed the back of his fingers up and down my arm.  I traced my fingers over the decorative filigree on his prosthetic arm.
“It’s pretty, isn’t it?” Bucky said.
“Mmm…” I hummed.  He’d had this particular arm for a little over seven years now. The intricate detail Steve had designed and Tony had brought to life was something that we’d all grown used to, but there were moments like this when I was close to him and everything was quiet, and I could just take in every detail and appreciate it for everything it meant.  Not just the art, but what the arm meant to Bucky and our family.  “Steve and Tony did good,” I said, running my fingernail over a small leaf that was etched into the metal.
“It’s funny, it’s there every day and I don’t think about it at all unless something happens like I get hair stuck in the parts or something.  But there are times that I just sit and look at it and it makes me appreciate so many things.  Steve for designing it.  It’s so beautiful and so detailed.  There are parts of it I can’t even see, but they’re just as detailed.  He did that for me, so I had something beautiful that was part of me when I saw myself …” He trailed off and shook his head.  “And then Tony made it for me.  Tony whose parents I killed.  Tony who I couldn’t even look in the eye for so long.  Tony built me this arm that is so beautiful, not as a weapon, but so I could hold my children and not worry that I’m doing it with this weapon Nazis built.  But mostly I look at it and it makes me think about the kids and all these people who love me.  After everything I’ve done, and don’t say it wasn’t me, yeah, yeah, yeah, I get it, but after everything I’ve done, I have all of this and I look at this arm and I can’t help but be reminded of that and appreciate that.”
I looked up into his stormy blue eyes and ran my palm up and down his chest.  “Bucky…” I said softly.
He didn’t let me finish my thought.  Not that I had completed it. He leaned in and pressed his lips to mine.  My lips parted and my hand went to his cheek, pulling him down into me more.  He moved willingly, his tongue teasing into my mouth.  I moaned softly, pushing my hand into his hair and tugging on it.
Bucky pulled back and I chased his lips, looking up at him through hooded eyes.  “No, no,” he scolded.  “We’re taking a bath.  You said your back was sore.”
I laughed. “I was just kissing.”
“You were just kissing.  I was getting a semi,” he teased.  “Go on, sit forward.  I’ll rub your back.”
I scooted forward a little and hugged my knees, and he started to rub my back.  He started at my shoulders, carefully working out the tension I’d been holding onto.  It wasn’t the slightly painful, dig-into-the-muscles kind of massage, more of a gentle manipulation that allowed me to relax.  Even the metal fingers of his prosthetic felt gentle rather than hard and unyielding.
He made his way down to my lower back and by the time he was loosening the muscles around my hips, I felt like putty.  I was moaning each time he pressed his fingers into my flesh.
He tugged me back against him, his arm wrapping around my chest so my back was pressed against him again.  “You can’t make sounds like that,” he teased, bringing his lips to mine.  I yielded to him, lips parted, tongue flicking out to meet his, another moan escaping me only to be swallowed by the kiss.
I turned in the tub so we were chest to chest, my legs falling on either side of one of his, so I was straddling his thigh.
We continued to kiss, slowly and languidly, tongues circling, and lips moving together.  I ran my hand down his chest and his abs.  I let my hand linger, right on his adonis belt for a little while, then slowly slid it down and wrapped my fingers around Bucky’s cock.
He pulled back with a soft gasp. “What are you doing, El?” he asked.
“Let me take care of you,” I whispered, sliding my hand up and down his cock.  “Just relax.”
He groaned and his head lolled back over the edge of the bath.  With his lips out of reach, I turned my attention to his neck, slowly swirling my tongue over his skin and grazing my teeth down it.  My hand continued to move up and down his shaft, the foreskin slipping over the head as I did.
There was no rush to my movements.  I wasn’t teasing him, but I wasn’t rushing to the finish line.  I not only wanted Bucky to enjoy this, but to relax too.  I wanted it to be like making love in the morning, not a quick and dirty fuck.
The soft moans, the way his muscles would tense up and tremble before relaxing again, and the way he was touching me and squeezing my ass, were turning me on.  I didn’t want him to worry about getting me off, but I couldn’t help but grind my hips down onto his thigh.
I began to suck on his throat, my teeth pressing into him.  He moaned louder and pulled me against his thigh, sending a jolt through me as my clit rubbed against his leg.  I gasped, jerking against him and he let out a soft chuckle, lifting his head to look at me.  “That feel good, dahlin’?” he asked.
“Yes,” I hummed, rocking against his thigh.  “I want you to feel good.  I want to do this for you.”
“I do feel good,” he said.  “You’re doing real good, El.  But keep doing that too.  I love that you can get yourself off just like that using my leg.”
He kissed me again, deeply and passionately.   There was an urgency there, that hadn’t been there before, and the movement of my hand matched the need in the kiss.  I began mixing up what I did more too, fondling his balls, rubbing along his perineum, and squeezing around his shaft as I stroked him.  His moans became louder and more frequent and he started to buck into my hand.  That just fed my desire more too and I humped his leg more and more desperately, my insides twisting as heat built in my core.
Closer and closer we got to the pinnacle of our release.  Bucky’s cock throbbed in my hand and precum leaked from the tip, floating in the water, thick and viscous compared to the scented liquid around it.
Bucky’s orgasm hit first, and he arched his back, making the water splash around us.  The muscles in his abs were pulled beautifully tight and as he moaned loudly, he released, coating his stomach.
The sight alone was enough to send me over with him, I moaned and clung to him as my body shuddered with it.  “Fuck,” Bucky groaned, relaxing down into the water and wrapping his arms around me.  “God, El.  That was amazing.”
“You’re amazing,” I said, as I relaxed and lay curled up against him.
He laughed and shook his head.  “Nuh-uh, you are.”
We lay like that for a little while as the water cooled off around us and our breathing and pulses returned to normal.  Bucky shifted under me, sitting up a little more. “I guess we should probably take a shower to rinse off,” he said.
I grumbled, not wanting to move.  “I suppose,” I said.
He gave my butt a playful swat.  “Go on, get moving.”
I reluctantly pushed myself up and climbed out of the tub.  While the bath hadn’t exactly cleaned us, we were relaxed, sleepy, and most of all content, and neither of us was going to complain about that, even if we needed to waste a little more water to actually get clean.

Prompt - ‘Who you are is not where you've been, you're still an innocent.’
Tumblr media
Bucky was glad for the serum running through his veins when he entered his fifth day without any sleep. He could still feel the pull of exhaustion, the heaviness of his bones and the way his eyes stung with the effort to keep prying them open when they fell shut for too long but the serum made it slightly more bearable.
He knew his therapist would tell him it was unhealthy, that he had to deal with this, find ways to cope. He knew Sam would say he had to talk about it, say that he didn’t mind sitting with him and just let Bucky talk until he felt better but he knew there was no feeling better.
How could he feel better? He was alive and his dreams haunted him each night, viciously reminding him of each person he killed, each person that died by his hands without him feeling a single shed of remorse.
He knew logically that wasn’t him, the fact he couldn’t sleep, the fact he felt sick to his stomach was proof that he did feel guilty but it didn’t matter. It had happened and he had done it, it didn’t matter that he couldn’t fight back against HYDRA, he should have, he should’ve been stronger, he should have stopped them.
Now they were gone and Bucky was left alone.
Truly alone.
Steve had left and even though Bucky had sent him off with a pat on the shoulder, had given the man the approval he needed before leaving, it had killed Bucky. It was the first time he had been in his right mind for longer than he could remember and he was alone, his only connection to a life long gone had left him behind.
The Soldier was no longer in his head either, not that he was torn up about that loss. Some days it felt strange, the Soldier had taken up so much space in his mind, he had been the one in control for longer than Bucky had ever been and now it was empty, quiet. Some days Bucky found himself just standing in a room, expecting the Soldier to take the lead only to remember he was alone now.
It was just him.
Sam had tried to help him but it was no good. Bucky pushed him away, not ready to deal with the reality of his life, not ready to accept what had happened to him. He agreed to see the therapist because he had to but she was no help either. Bucky left their sessions feeling worse than he ever had most days.
Still right now he knew he had to do something, sitting on the floor in the quiet of his apartment, the only light in the room coming from the street lights outside. He needed to get out, he didn’t care that it was late, it’s not like he had anywhere to be in the morning.
It took a great effort to pull himself from the floor but he somehow managed it, heading into his bedroom to shrug on a fresh pair of clothes, knowing he hadn’t changed for longer than was acceptable. He’d need a shower too at some point but couldn’t stomach the thought of it just yet.
The cold air hit him as soon as he left his apartment and he was glad for it when he felt more alert. He had no destination in mind, just picked a direction and let his feet carry him. There were plenty of bars open at this time and as much as he wanted to drink until he passed out he knew it was a useless wish, the serum running through him would barely let him feel a buzz from the alcohol, let alone make him forget anything.
Eventually he came across a small hole in the wall cafe. The lights were still on, a soft orange glow leaking out onto the streets and it was empty beside one man typing away at his laptop and two teenagers with papers scattered across their shared table.
He didn’t know what it was about the place but Bucky let his feet carry him to the door, pausing to take a steadying breath before opening the door.
The first thing that hit him was the warmth, a sudden change for the chill outside, then there was the smell. The smell of baked goods floating through the air made Bucky’s shoulders lose some of their tenseness as he stepped into the cafe and let the door close behind him softly.
The pair of teenagers didn’t look up at the sound of the bell, nor did the man typing furiously on his laptop. The only person who acknowledged his presence was a woman who stuck her head out of a door behind the counter, letting him know she’d be just a minute.
Bucky was content to wait, walking towards the counter and looking at the displayed goods, not too filled but there was a good selection especially considering the time. The place was nice too, it reminded him of somewhere he couldn’t quite remember, a memory just out of reach.
The place had a homely feel to it, soft lights instead of harsh white ones lit the space and the place was decorated in pastel colours that complimented each other nicely with bits of greenery littered around the room. For some reason he felt safe here, it could have just been because nobody seemed to recognize him or maybe there was just something about this place.
“Hey,” A voice pulled Bucky from his thoughts and he shook his head slightly before turning his gaze to you. “What can I get for you?”
The first thing Bucky noticed about you was how beautiful you were. You radiated the same kind of warmth the cafe did, smiling at him like he was a friend you’d known for years rather than a complete stranger, like he wasn’t a deadly killer.
He couldn’t tell if you knew him, most people did whether it was because they’d learnt about Bucky Barnes, best friend to Captain America or they’d see the news stories about the Winter Soldier. You didn’t flinch, didn’t pause, didn’t stare at him or gawk, didn’t take a step back. You just smiled at him as you leaned on the counter top waiting for him to reply.
It had been a long time since Bucky had spoken to somebody who didn’t know what he had done, to somebody who’s immediate first reaction upon meeting him wasn’t to run as fast as they could away from him.
“Um, a coffee please.” Bucky forced himself to say, suddenly aware of how croaky and dry his voice was after going days without talking to anybody.
“Sure thing, nothing to eat?” You asked, the smile never leaving your lips as you moved to start making his coffee for him.
Now that you mentioned it he couldn’t exactly remember when the last time he had actually eaten anything was, his stomach aching with hunger as he glanced back towards the treats with a new found appetite.
“Yeah actually, whatever you’d recommend.” Bucky answered and attempted a smile which he knew came out as nothing but a weak twitching of the lips but it was the thought that counted.
“Well in that case you have to try these.” Your smile morphed into a grin and Bucky couldn’t help but stare at you, feeling his anxiety and fear slipping away the longer he did.
When he finally did manage to pry his eyes away from your smile he looked down to see a plate of muffins that made his stomach long for food even more so than it had before. You set the plate down in front of him and he waited for you to turn back to making his coffee before he picked one up and took a bite.
Just as you turned back to hand the man his coffee you watched as his eyes lit up and he looked down at the muffin like it was the best thing he ever held.
“Good right?” You couldn’t help but chuckle, watching as the man’s eyes snapped up to meet yours.
“They’re amazing.” Bucky praised, the smile hadn’t left your face since you walked out of the back room but he still noticed how you brightened up even more at the compliment, thanking him sincerely before excusing yourself to finish up an order for tomorrow, leaving Bucky alone with his thoughts.
This was better, loathe as he was to admit it, getting out of the apartment was good. It was easier to ignore the reminders of what he had done, sat in the cafe that radiated warmth and goodness. The quiet noise of the two teenagers talking, the rustling of pages and the repetitive taps of the man’s keyboard, the soft music playing from somewhere in the back were all things he could focus on and he felt calmer than he had in weeks.
“Haven’t seen you around here before.” You said as you came back out into the front of the cafe, talking softly to the man so you didn’t disturb the others in the cafe. “You new to the city?”
“Born and raised here.” Bucky offered after a moment of hesitation. “Been away for a while though, decided to take a walk and found this place. It’s nice.”
“Thanks, it’s my family’s business. I took the night shift to help them out, plus I get to help myself to whatever treats are left over from the day so it’s not a bad gig.” You laughed and watched as the man’s lips pulled into a small smile.
Bucky didn’t know what it was about you. Since Wakanda, since he was back in his own mind alone without the Soldier, he had found it difficult to talk to anyone, whether it was Sam or his therapist, the few times he had tried to talk to a pretty girl had gone terribly.
But there was just something about you that made it a bit easier to find some words, that made him want to try and say something. The fact that this was the longest conversation he had had with somebody in weeks wasn’t lost on him and he was so glad he had found this place.
You kept up a steady stream of conversation, not put out when Bucky seemed to pause for longer than was necessary before he answered in a low voice, rough for not being used. You were curious about the man but he looked like the world was weighing heavily on his shoulders so you stuck to light conversation, keeping it open enough that he could jump in whenever but not pressuring him to speak.
Bucky didn’t know how long he’d stayed in the cafe but eventually his muffin and coffee were gone, as was the man who had been sitting alone in the corner. He felt lighter than he had in a long time and could feel the exhaustion creeping back up on him even after his coffee.
He figured he should try and get some sleep, hoping that a good outing would be enough to ward off the memories.
“It was nice meeting you!” You smiled when Bucky politely excused himself, finding that you genuinely meant the words. Working in the cafe meant you met all sorts of people but none stood out to you quite like he did.
“Nice meeting you too.” Bucky said, finding it was easier to smile back at you before he made his way home, ready to sleep nightmare free for the first time in weeks.
A few weeks passed before Bucky stumbled his way down to your cafe again.
He had been doing good, ever since he had left you that first night he hadn’t had nightmares, not to say that his dreams had been pleasant but they weren’t keeping him awake for days on end.
Now though he was relieving more and more missions every night, seeing the faces of the innocent people he’d murdered to get to his target, seeing how cold and cruel he was capable of being.
When the bell chimed to let you know somebody had come into the cafe you looked up with a smile that faltered when you saw the man from a few weeks ago. His hair was dishevelled, his skin pale with a light sheen of sweat covering it and his eyes looked haunted in a way you had never seen before.
By the time he had made it to the counter and into the seat he had occupied last time he was here you had forced your smile back onto your face, not letting any sympathy shine through. The man didn’t need some stranger feeling sorry for him, so you wouldn’t give him that instead you could offer him a safe place to let his mind switch off for a while.
“Hey again! I was hoping you’d be back, I just made a batch of brownies and I think I’ve got the recipe just right. You wanna try one?” You asked, jumping right into conversation to hopefully pull the man from his thoughts.
Bucky looked over at you with wide, watery eyes, taking a minute to register what you had said before nodding hesitantly, watching as you busied yourself with fetching the brownies from the back and bringing a few out on a plate.
“You want a coffee to go with that?” You asked and watched him nod again. “Great, I’ll get that ready for you. Honestly, I’m glad you came back tonight, this place has been dead for hours. I suppose the kids have finished with their finals though, you remember those two that were here the other week? Yeah they practically live here but during exam season they take up permanent residence on that table.”
Bucky appreciated how you said nothing about the state he was in, glossing past it like it wasn’t even worth mentioning. He focused on your words, so thankful you didn’t seem to be expecting a response, just filling the silence with words he could follow and grab onto, a grounding link to reality.
Bucky let time pass without acknowledging it, focusing solely on you, listening to you as you told stories of growing up in New York, of growing up in the cafe and all the different types of people that stopped by, telling him about your favourite customers and the rudest ones. He was proud when he managed a few small smiles and even one chuckle but he hadn’t been able to find the strength to speak but you didn’t seem to mind, something that made him feel even more relaxed in this place, even more relaxed with you.
Bucky only pulled himself out of the safety of the cafe when he saw the first signs of the sun coming up, knowing you wouldn’t be around much longer anyway and a part of him felt guilty for having you put up with him for so long.
“Thank you.” Bucky managed to croak out as he stood to leave watching as your bright smile turned soft.
“Thank you, lord knows I needed the company tonight.” You told him and Bucky smiled back at you. “You’re always welcome here, you know?”
“Thank you.” Bucky said again, even though the words were whispered you could still hear how grateful he was for you to have said it.
“See you around.” You said softly, watching him go until he disappeared from view.
Bucky was back again two nights later, still not as talkative but he was able to speak this time around. He shared stories of growing up in Brooklyn trying his best not to slip up and reveal that his childhood was a lot further back than you guessed, trying not to let it slip that the childhood best friend he spoke about was Steve Rogers, Captain America.
You listened intently to everything Bucky shared with you, wanting to know anything he was willing to tell you. You couldn’t say what it was about this man who seemed so down on his luck but you wanted to know everything about him.
Eventually Bucky showing up at the cafe became a regular part of your routines, he showed up more nights than not. Some nights he was silent, just needing you to fill the space with whatever came to your mind and other nights he was like a whole different person, so confident and eager to talk and share parts of his life with you.
It had been months since you’d first met him and you knew you were falling for him, you thought you had been since that first day but now you were sure.
“You know who I am, don’t you?” Bucky asked suddenly one night causing you to tense for a moment, a frown spreading across your features.
It was a bad night for Bucky, he’d been here a few hours now and not said much. The cafe was empty, silent whilst you contemplated how to answer but eventually just nodded your head.
“Yeah, I knew who you were the first time you showed up here.” You told him honestly, remembering how shocked you’d been to see Bucky Barnes in your cafe but you had hid it well.
“You should have told me to stay the hell away.” Bucky muttered and you felt your features soften into a sad smile.
“I was never scared of you. You’ve been coming here for months, we’ve been alone together for most of that and you’ve never made me feel anything but safe.” You said, watching as he looked at you in shock before shaking his head.
“Safe?” He spat the word like it was poison. “I’m a monster.”
Your heart ached for the man. You had known a bit about the Winter Soldier before meeting Bucky but hadn’t researched it once you had met him, it felt wrong to do it, you figured when the time came the man would share his story with you if he wanted to.
“I don’t know your whole story but I do know it wasn’t your fault. I know you didn’t ask for what those people did to you. I know you’re not the monster, they are.” You told him, voice low and firm causing Bucky to look at you with wide eyes, desperately wanting to believe you but unable to.
“But I should have been stronger.” He whispered, a choked out sentence that broke your heart.
“Listen I can’t even begin to imagine what sort of hell you’ve been through but I do know you, this version of you, the one that you should be so proud of because you aren’t what they made you, who you were is not who you are now. You’ve got so much more to look forward to, a whole life to live as happily as you can, a big fuck you to the people who are hopefully gone.” You chuckled slightly, tears filling your eyes as you took Bucky’s hands in yours.
“Thank you.” Bucky croaked out, his own tears welling up in his eyes as he squeezed your hands gently in his. “Thank you.”
“I’m really glad you found this place.” You whispered to him, smiling shakily at him.
Bucky held your gaze, pulling his hands from yours before making his way around the counter that separated you. His flesh hand came up to your cheek, you willingly letting him tilt your head up towards him as he looked down at you with a soft smile, eyes red from where the tears stung at them.
“I’m glad I found you.” He whispered back, leaning down and pressing his forehead against yours.
Your eyes fell closed as you pressed forward, closing the space between you and feeling a rush of warmth run through you as your lips connected. The kiss was soft and gentle, neither of you needing to rush it even though it had been building for months. You took your time, savouring the feeling of Bucky’s lips against yours, the taste of cupcakes and coffee on his lips was intoxicating and you knew you were done for, there was no going back after this, you were all in.
When the two of you pulled away you were both silent for a moment, needing the chance to catch your breath. Bucky’s forehead rested back against yours, his thumb brushing along your cheekbone as he smiled down at you with you smiling softly back up at him.
“I can’t promise I’m any good at this anymore.” Bucky murmured and you laughed softly. “But I really want to try, if you’ll let me.”
“I like you, Bucky. I already know you have bad days, I want to be there for all of them. I don’t care how hard it is, I want to be with you.” You told him honestly, closing the distance between you again to kiss him softly.
Bucky pulled you close, wrapping his metal arm around you to hold you against him, promising himself he’d get this right. You were right, he was alive and HYDRA was dead, all those monsters wouldn’t live to see another day and Bucky had the chance to live the rest of his life happier than they could ever imagine.
He wanted that.
He wanted that with you.

Last Monday.
“Rogers! Rogers! We know you’re in there!”
“Yeah, c’mon, Stevie! We need t’ talk!”
Fists bang on the flimsy wooden door to Steve’s bedroom, threatening to break it down. Steve rubs his face with the back of a (cleaner) hand as music continues to blare out of his earbuds, charcoal dust from his latest drawing assignment now caking his desk, hands, and floor. He groans. Irritation and a slew of curses beg to launch off his tongue. Pressing his lips together tightly, Steve tosses his earbuds onto his desk and shoves back his chair. The legs scrape against the old wood flooring, screeching loudly and announcing his surrender as he walks to the door. He unlocks it– undoing the deadbolt, too– and swings it open, eyes shooting sharpened daggers at the stupid, knowing grins plastered on his frat brothers’ faces.
Bucky Barnes and Sam Wilson beam at Steve, trouble and mischief brewing behind their eyes.
As the heads of the household and leaders of the Sigma Beta Theta (ΣΘΒ) Fraternity, one of the oldest– and most infamous– frats in Richards College Greek life, Bucky Barnes and Sam Wilson were known campus and state-wide for their level of commitment in Greek life. Fourth years in whatever program they’re enrolled in, Steve couldn’t recall; some rumors claimed they were ‘Super Seniors’ who decided they couldn’t bear to part with their beloved frat. Others said they’ve been out of school, already graduated a year or two before, but were still allowed to run the frat since Bucky’s step-daddy was elected Dean a couple years back. The timing lined up, Steve had surmised, once he’d been pledged.
Sam and Bucky each prided themselves in their muscular, god-like statures to their own accord. Their builds were accentuated by broad shoulders, thick arms and thighs, abs hard enough to crack an egg– and each had one hell of a sex drive, Steve learned, during his first night in the house.
He adapted rather quickly to falling asleep with his earbuds in. The risk of choking on his own headphone cord was worth a better night’s sleep than lying awake to the constant thump thump thump-ing that came clearly through the walls surrounding his room. Every. Fucking. Night.
But, Steve had to hand it to them. Even they weren’t entirely self-centered. They still thought and cared about their frat and fellow brethren: mandating daily workouts in the morning (no matter how early your first class is), requiring frat colors to be worn to every sporting event (even chess), and everyone being forced to take a minimum of three shots at every house-held party (including ones during weekdays, midterms, finals, and holidays).
Steve had been reluctant since the moment he signed his name on the scholarship contract. Something that day made him feel as if he’d signed his life away. He knew that joining a frat was an integral part of his full-ride– that he promised his mother ‘college was taken care of’ so she wouldn’t have to pick up even more shifts at the county hospital. What he didn’t know was which frat to join. That part was up to him. Sigma Theta Beta chose him more than he chose it.
Steve blinks.
Sam and Bucky lean against either side of the doorway, waggling their brows at Steve and glancing from one another to him. Steve rolls his eyes, sighing heavily with an annoyed edge. He swallows the curses and puts on the most neutral tone he can possibly muster.
“What.”
Shit.
Bucky hitches a shoulder and looks to Sam, who exaggeratedly clears his throat.
“Rogers! You gotta stop lookin’ so mean, man!”
“You made me mess up my drawing, again, man,” Steve seethes through clenched teeth. Sam waves a hand absently.
“Ah, you’ll be alright,” he scoffs, “anywho, Buck n’ I–”
“Don’t call me Buck,” Bucky growls.
“–ahem, Bucky and I heard from a lil’ birdy that it’s your birthday this weekend–”
“–and we were wondering,” Bucky chimes in, as if on cue, “if we could dedicate this weekend’s party to you!”
Steve blanches. His brow furrows after a second, suspicion stabbing him in the gut.
“You,” he points to both brothers, “Wanna throw a party this weekend. For me?”
Bucky and Sam nod in unison, grins and gazes growing.
“Yeah, man! You deserve it,” Bucky says, clapping a hand on Steve’s shoulder. Sam quickly copies him. It’s not reassuring in the slightest.
“Why?”
“Because! As an official pledge, newbies always get thrown a birthday party,” Sam drives an index finger into Steve’s chest.
Steve raises his brow, but buries it again after giving the proposal more than a millisecond of thought.
“My birthday was in July. I wasn’t even pledged yet.”
Sam huffs, smile faltering as he looks to Bucky with slight annoyance behind his eyes.
“Uh, yeah! Yeah, it was, but,” Bucky mirrors Sam’s prodding finger digging into Steve’s sternum, “this is for your fraternity birthday. Plus, you’re the first pledge in three years, so you get an extra special celebration.”
Their grins begin to make Steve squirm. He pushes their hands off him. The whole thing feels dirtier than his own, charcoal-covered hands. He can see through their shitty façade of charisma, but can’t make out what’s on the other side. Whatever it is, it makes him feel uneasy and ungrateful at the same time.
He’s been the newbie for the last few weeks, and all he’s done is keep to himself and draw for hours in his room. He hasn’t made any real friends, aside from the exchanged niceties from a classmate or two in his gen ed courses. He should be getting out there, getting to know his housemates– his ‘brothers’– better, shouldn’t he? After all, he is an only child. He didn’t grow up with the siblings Bucky, Sam, or Clint did. Tony was an only child, sure, but Steve couldn't find another thing to even relate to the guy about.
He should trust them, give this thing a shot.
Right?
Steve looks Bucky up and down cautiously before turning to Sam, sighing and plastering on a half-smile.
“Alright, sure. I’m game.”
Bucky and Sam erupt into fist pumps and high fives while Steve stands in the threshold with a knife in his gut jamming further and further into his innards.
“You’re gonna have the time of your fuckin’ life, Stevie,” Bucky reassures him. His fingers dig deeper into Steve’s shoulder and he flinches at the bruising pain. For a split second, he swears he sees a glint of something dark in Bucky’s eyes. Something dangerous. He can’t help but respond with a mumbled ‘okay’ before the two leave to raid the kitchen downstairs.
Steve turns back into his room, shutting and locking the door and before leaning back against it. His head falls back, cushioned by jackets and sweatshirts hanging from their hooks. He rubs his face, no longer caring about the gritty charcoal covering his face.
What the fuck did he agree to?

The maid of Mr. Barnes - Part 17 (Bucky Barnes x Reader)
The maid of Mr. Barnes Part 17 - Home // The maid of Mr. Barnes Masterlist Bucky Barnes x Reader Mafia AU Warnings: none
Summary: Bucky is home again and you talk about the future.
A/N: Here is the last part of The Maid of Mr. Barnes. I want to say thank you for every comment, reblog, and like. They mean much to me. But even though this is the last part of their series, we don't have to say goodbye to them. I still write extra chapters (and the requests are open for them even if I write them really slowly), and I started Steve's story not long ago too.
Tumblr media
"I will be home tonight," Bucky says. His voice sounds deeper through the phone. You are still in his bed, cocooned into his faint scent. "I hoped so," you hum, still busy with the happy skip of your heartbeat at his words. "The others already left with their men." "Oh, Bunny," he coos. "You miss your man, hm?" The thought of Bucky being your man makes you go back to your teenage years. Your stomach burst into million of butterflies, and giddiness spreads across your chest. "I do," you admit. "Come as fast as you can." "I will, Y/N," he promises. "I will see you soon."
Being with the girls for a few days was something you enjoyed. You had the chance to get to know all of them, and all of you had fun. Leila and Sugar helped you a lot not to drive yourself crazy with worry, and Angel and Princess needed that too. They are new to this world like you, while the other two girls know the drill by now. Your statement that Leila could kick Sam's ass still stands. She and Sugar could rule the world without even looking.
With the girls at home, you stay alone. It is strange to see the mansion so calm and quiet after weeks of men running around and talking over each other. The house seems much bigger now, and while you enjoy the peace, you feel a bit uncomfortable with it. At least it gives you a chance to get ready for tonight. You want to celebrate Bucky's arrival and his winning over Hydra. You clean up a bit to keep yourself busy before you start dinner. Soon, the kitchen is filled with the scent of fresh vegetables, and when everything is ready, you can go and make yourself presentable too.
It's dark outside when you hear the familiar rumble of the car as you stand waitingly in the foyer. The heavy entrance door barely opens when you almost jump onto the man. His laugh fills the silence as he hugs you, keeping you against his body. "I missed you too, Bunny," he hums into your neck. His warm breath tickles, and you can't help but back away from his smug smirk. Your arms are still around his neck. "Are you okay?" You ask him, looking over his face with a slight worry between your brows. "I'm fine," Bucky replies, leaning down to kiss you. His lips are warm and soft against yours. He nibbles on your lower lip until your lungs start to burn, and you have to lean back. "I made dinner," you tell him. "Are you hungry? Or do you want to sleep?" A smirk spreads across his lips as he pecks down on the curve of your neck. He can't get enough of you. "I didn't see you for almost a week," he says. "There are a lot of things I want to do, but sleeping is none of them."
The mobster found it hard to be away from you. While he was busy with Hydra, a part of him longed for you the whole time.
"Then take a shower," you tell him, fidgeting with the collar around his neck. "And come to the dinner." "I barely came home, and you are already ordering me around?" He teases, smirking down at you. It's good to be home. "Yes," you nod immediately, making him laugh some more. "Okay, Bunny," he agrees, kissing you one last time. "I will be there in a few."
You sit at the table while waiting for your boss to come down. Candles light up the room, and red wine swirls in your glass as you take a sip from it. You adjust the knife next to the plate, looking around who knows how many times. You want everything to be perfect but know you are not sure it was a good idea. Maybe it's too much? Maybe he is too tired?
"Bunny?" Bucky's muffled voice breaks your anxious thoughts, and soon, the door opens with him behind it. "Oh," he says, looking around. Small flames dance on the top of the candles, the cutleries shine under the dim lights, and smelling the air, his stomach growls with hunger. "What do you think?" You ask, standing up. "If it's too much..." "It's perfect, Y/N," he calms you down, hugging your waist to kiss you. You close your eyes for a second, enjoying his familiar cologne. You missed this too. The white shirt on his body is soft under your touch, and you can feel the cold of his watch as he caresses your arm. "Let's sit down," you tell him after a while, forcing yourself to move away from his arms. "None of that," he says, keeping you close. He sits down where you sat a few minutes ago, pulling you with himself. Soon, you are sitting on his thigh, your legs between his. "Is it comfortable for you?" You ask him, adjusting yourself in his arms. "It is," he replies. His voice is a deep rumble on the sensitive skin of your neck. His warm breath sends shivers down your spine. He doesn't care about comfortable. He just wants you in his arms.
"So everything will be alright?" You ask him, still on his lap. The fork is in front of you again as Bucky holds it up. You obey the silent command, letting him feed you while he eats too. His other arm is around your waist. Your side is pressed against his front. "Yes," he replies. "We won't have problems with the Hydra anymore." "And Winter? How is he?" "He will be fine. Angel helps him a lot." After a few awkward moments, you dare to ask. "What's Angel's real name?" Bucky laughs. "I have no idea. Angel seems fitting, though. That woman protects Winter like a wild animal." "That's good," you hum. "They deserve their happy ending." "And what about our happy ending, hm?" He asks, kissing the line of your jaw. "What about it?" You ask, looking into his bright blue eyes. A content smile plays on his lips, and you lean into him more. You like seeing him like this. Happy and calm, even if a bit tired. "How do you imagine our happy ending?" You bit your lip. "It's too soon to talk about it, no?" Of course, you have plans for the future. You want to become a wife, and you want kids too. A big family is what you wish for. Preferably with Bucky. "I don't care," he says, putting down the fork to cup your jaw. His thumb draws the line of your lower lip. "I want a life with you, Y/N. I don't know the details yet, but you are in them." "I want kids," you tell him. Maybe it's good to lay out your cards. There is no reason to continue together if the way you both see the future is different. "Not immediately, of course, but I want to be a mother in the future. I want a big, happy family." "I will give it to you, Bunny," he hums against your lips. Even the thought of you with his children gives him joy. You will be a great mother, and he will do everything to be a worthy father and husband. "I will give you everything you want." "Good," you nod. "But right now, I want you." He smirks, kissing you again as he stands up from his seat with you in his arms. "As I said, I will give you everything."

The morning sun filters through the thin curtains, casting a warm glow across the kitchen table. You sip your coffee, savoring the quiet before the day begins. The smell of freshly brewed coffee and pancakes fills the air, a comforting routine you've grown to love.
Bucky and Sam enter, both looking more serious than usual. Sam grabs a mug and pours himself some coffee, while Bucky takes a seat across from you.
"You look like you didn't sleep much," you say, eyeing Bucky's tired face.
"Couldn't sleep," he admits, rubbing the back of his neck. "Something's been bothering me."
Sam sits down next to him, his expression equally grim. "We've got news from New York," he starts, glancing at you before looking back at Bucky. "Flag Smasher activity's been on the rise again."
You set your mug down, the weight of his words sinking in. "What do they want now?"
Bucky leans forward, resting his arms on the table. "They're getting bolder. More organized. It's not just random acts anymore; there's a pattern."
Sam nods in agreement. "We've been tracking them for weeks. Last night we got intel on a possible attack on the GRC while they're voting."
Your heart skips a beat at their words. The Flag Smashers have caused enough chaos already; the thought of them escalating further is chilling. Violence in New York would injure so many people.
"So what’s the plan?" you ask, trying to keep your voice steady.
"We need to head back to New York," Sam says firmly. "Figure out what they're planning and stop it before it gets worse."
Bucky's eyes meet yours, concern etched in their depths. "You should stay here," he says softly. "It's safer."
You open your mouth to protest but stop yourself. Deep down, you know he's right. Your body and mind are still recovering from everything it's been through, and jumping into another battle isn't wise.
"I'll stay," you agree reluctantly, hating the feeling of being left behind but knowing it's for the best. "It would—it wouldn't be good for me to jump right back in."
Sam reaches across the table, placing a hand on yours. "We’ll keep you updated," he promises.
You nod, squeezing his hand briefly before letting go. "Just... be careful," you say, looking between them. "Karli has proven that she won't let anything stop her."
Bucky stands up first, giving you a reassuring nod. "We will."
Sam follows suit, grabbing his jacket from the back of his chair. As they prepare to leave, Sarah enters the kitchen with a curious look.
"Everything alright?" she asks, sensing the tension.
"Yeah," Sam answers quickly, pulling her into a brief hug. "Just some business we need to take care of in New York."
She frowns but doesn’t press further. Instead, she turns to you with a warm smile. "Looks like it’s just us girls with the boys then."
You return her smile, though your mind is already on Sam and Bucky’s mission ahead. You watch as Sam and Bucky leave, the door closing behind them with a finality that sends a shiver down your spine. Sarah’s voice pulls you back to the present.
“Come on, let’s get these boys ready for camp,” she says, her tone light but her eyes concerned.
You nod, grateful for the distraction. Together, you head upstairs to find AJ and Cass, who are bustling around their room, excitement palpable in the air.
“Hey, campers,” you greet them with a smile. “Ready for your big adventure?”
AJ looks up from his suitcase, his eyes wide with enthusiasm. “I can’t wait! We’re gonna do archery and swimming and—”
“And I’m gonna catch the biggest fish ever!” Cass interrupts, holding up a toy fishing rod proudly.
Sarah laughs, ruffling Cass’s hair. “Alright, boys, let’s make sure you’ve got everything packed.”
You join her in checking their bags, making sure they have enough clothes, toiletries, and other essentials. The room buzzes with energy as AJ and Cass chatter about all the fun they’re going to have.
“Don’t forget your sunscreen,” you remind them, slipping a bottle into each of their bags. “And remember to write us letters.”
Cass groans playfully. “Letters? That’s so old-fashioned!”
Sarah chuckles. “You’ll thank us when you’re not sunburned.”
Once the packing is done, you help them carry their bags downstairs. The van is already waiting outside, ready to take them to camp. You can feel a pang of nostalgia watching them; it reminds you of simpler times before life became so complicated.
AJ gives you a quick hug before bounding out the door. “Thanks for helping us pack, Diana!”
Cass follows suit, hugging you tightly. “Yeah, thanks! We’ll miss you!”
“I’ll miss you too,” you say sincerely, feeling a warmth spread through your chest.
Sarah walks them out to the van while you stand on the porch, watching as they climb in with excited waves and shouts of goodbye. The van pulls away slowly, and you wave back until it disappears around the corner.
Sarah returns to your side with a sigh of relief mixed with wistfulness. “They grow up so fast.”
You nod in agreement, something deep in your chest rumbling for children of your own. “Yeah, they do.”
Tumblr media
Two weeks have crawled by since Sam and Bucky left for New York. Every news broadcast has your attention, every headline about the new Captain America—a mix of horror and pride fills you. Sam wielding the shield, standing up to threats, showing the world what a true hero looks like. You’ve watched him become the symbol of hope he was always meant to be, even if it means he’s not here.
But your body betrays you. You sit at the kitchen table, rubbing your swollen fingers, trying to ignore the dull ache in your side. The headaches come and go, leaving you disoriented. The dizziness often forces you to grab onto the nearest piece of furniture for support. It’s getting harder to brush off.
Sarah walks in, a basket of laundry balanced on her hip. She eyes you with concern as she sets it down. "You don't look so good," she says bluntly.
You snort, managing a weak smile. "Thanks for that."
"Seriously, Diana," Sarah continues, her tone more gentle now. "You've been complaining about headaches and feeling off for days. What's really going on?"
You sigh and lean back in your chair, wincing as another wave of nausea hits. "I don't know, Sarah. My legs are swollen, my fingers too. I keep getting these dizzy spells and—" You gesture vaguely at your chest. "My breasts are sore. What exactly am I doing to make them feel like that?"
Sarah's eyes narrow thoughtfully as she sits across from you. "It almost sounds like you're pregnant."
You laugh it off at first, rolling your eyes. "Yeah, right."
But then you freeze, memories crashing back in vivid detail—the unprotected sex with Zemo... twice. Your hand instinctively goes to the bite mark on your shoulder, a stark reminder of that intense night.
Sarah watches as realization dawns on your face. She raises an eyebrow but says nothing.
"Oh no," you whisper, panic bubbling up inside you.
"Diana?" Sarah’s voice cuts through your thoughts.
"I think I'm going to throw up," you say quickly before bolting from the table and rushing to the bathroom.
You kneel on the cold bathroom floor, gripping the edge of the toilet as your stomach twists and turns. The sour taste of bile lingers in your mouth, and you heave again, emptying what little remains in your stomach. Sarah is there beside you, her hand rubbing soothing circles on your back. The gentle motion provides a small comfort amidst the chaos swirling inside your mind and broiling in your stomach.
“Breathe, Diana,” she says softly, her voice steady and reassuring. “Just breathe.”
You try to focus on her words, inhaling deeply through your nose and exhaling slowly through your mouth. It takes a few moments, but the nausea begins to subside.
When you finally sit back, Sarah hands you a damp washcloth. You press it to your forehead, grateful for the cool relief.
“Thanks,” you mutter, still feeling shaky and drained.
Sarah sits back on her heels, studying you with concern. “I think we need to know for sure,” she says gently. “I’ll run into town and pick up a pregnancy test.”
The words hang in the air, heavy with implication. You nod numbly, unable to form a coherent response. Inside, panic flares like a wildfire. The possibility that you might be pregnant—carrying Zemo’s child—overwhelms you.
Sarah stands up, offering you a hand to help you off the floor. You take it gratefully, leaning on her for support as you rise unsteadily to your feet.
“I’ll be quick,” she promises as she guides you back to the kitchen and helps you sit down at the table.
You nod again, barely hearing her words over the roar of your thoughts. Your mind races with questions and fears. What will this mean for you? It wasn't like it would be universally acceptable for you to carry and give birth to Baron Helmut Zemo's child. Sam and Bucky could not find out.
“Diana?” Sarah’s voice cuts through the fog of your thoughts.
You look up at her, seeing the compassion in her eyes. “Yeah?”
“Try to relax while I’m gone,” she says softly. “I’ll be back soon.”
You force a weak smile and nod once more. “Okay.”
With that, Sarah grabs her keys and heads out the door, leaving you alone with your racing thoughts and rising panic.
You sit at the kitchen table, staring at the wood grain pattern, your mind a whirlwind of thoughts. The minutes crawl by, each one feeling like an eternity. The room is silent except for the faint ticking of the wall clock. You feel every second, every beat, pounding in your head.
Your fingers trace absent patterns on the tabletop. You try to steady your breathing, but it's shallow and erratic. The possibility of being pregnant with Zemo's child is too overwhelming to process.
The front door opens, and you hear Sarah's footsteps before she appears in the doorway, a small pharmacy bag in hand. She walks over and places it on the table in front of you.
"Here," she says gently. "Let's find out."
You take a deep breath and nod, reaching for the bag. Your hands tremble as you pull out the pregnancy test. The instructions blur in front of your eyes, but Sarah is there, guiding you through each step.
“Just follow the instructions,” she says softly. “It’ll be over soon.”
You make your way to the bathroom, clutching the test like a lifeline. The next few minutes pass in a haze as you follow the steps mechanically. Finally, you set the test on the sink and sit down on the edge of the bathtub, waiting for what feels like an eternity.
Sarah waits outside, giving you some space but remaining close enough to offer support. You stare at the test, heart pounding in your chest.
Three minutes pass slowly, each second marked by the ticking clock in your head. When time is up, you force yourself to look at the result window.
Two lines.
The world tilts on its axis, and for a moment, you can’t breathe. You’re pregnant. With Zemo’s child.
You open the bathroom door slowly and see Sarah waiting with an anxious expression. Her eyes meet yours, and she knows instantly.
“Oh my god,” she whispers, stepping forward to pull you into a hug. “It’s going to be okay.”
You cling to her tightly as tears stream down your face, your mind still struggling to process everything. Her warmth and presence provide a small comfort amidst the storm raging inside you.
"We'll figure this out," Sarah says firmly as she holds you close. "You're not alone in this. Uh, you know who the father is?"
Her words sink in slowly but surely. You take a shaky breath and nod against her shoulder.
You pull away from Sarah, wiping your tears with the back of your hand. "Yes," you manage to say, your voice barely above a whisper. "I know who the father is."
Sarah’s eyes search yours, full of questions. She opens her mouth to speak, but you cut her off.
"Sarah, listen," you say, taking a deep breath to steady yourself. "Sam and Bucky can’t find out about this. They absolutely cannot know."
She frowns, concern etched across her features. "Diana, they care about you. They worry so much. They deserve to know what's going on."
"No," you insist, shaking your head vehemently. "If they find out... It would complicate everything. Sam has enough on his plate with being the new Captain America. And Bucky... He doesn’t need more on his mind."
Sarah sighs, crossing her arms as she considers your words. "But keeping this a secret isn’t fair to them—or to you."
You reach out and grasp her hand, desperation seeping into your voice. "Please, Sarah. I need you to trust me on this. It’s safer for everyone if they don’t know." She studies your face for a long moment, her eyes searching for any sign of doubt. Finally, she nods slowly, though reluctance still lingers in her expression.
"Alright," she says quietly. "I won’t tell them. But you need to promise me you'll take care of yourself and let me help."
A wave of relief washes over you as you squeeze her hand gratefully. "I promise."
Sarah's gaze softens as she pulls you into another hug. "We’ll get through this together," she murmurs against your hair. "With Cass and AJ too."
As you stand there in Sarah's embrace, the weight of the secret settles heavily on your shoulders. You can't stay in Louisiana. Sam and Bucky would find out all too easily and one whiff of you once they know you are pregnant? Game over. You are going to call Oezenik tonight, and get yourself the hell out of the country.
Tumblr media
The jet’s hum is a distant memory by the time you land, the night swallowing any remaining traces of the journey. Oeznik's efficiency leaves you in blessed awe; not a single detail out of place. You could kiss the butler for his help. He guides you to a nondescript car waiting on the tarmac, and within minutes, you’re speeding through darkened streets.
He doesn’t speak much during the ride, and neither do you. Your mind is a whirlpool of worry and guilt, spiraling into dark corners you didn’t know existed. The injections—those damn injections. You had taken them religiously, thinking they were your lifeline. Now, the possibility that they could have harmed your baby gnaws at your soul.
The safe house looms ahead, a shadowy silhouette against the midnight sky. Oeznik parks and leads you inside, the silence between you heavy but understanding. The interior is regally spare, but comfortable—exactly what you’d expect from one of Zemo’s safe houses. No frills, just functionality.
Oeznik hands you a keycard and a burner phone before retreating to give you space. “You’re safe here,” he says simply, his tone reassuring but firm. "Anything you require can be found or purchased for you, Miss."
You nod, clutching the items tightly as if they could anchor you in this storm of emotions. “Thank you,” you manage to whisper, your voice barely audible.
He dips his head in acknowledgment before disappearing into another part of the house. You’re left standing in the entryway, the weight of everything crashing down on you all at once.
Your feet move on their own, carrying you to what appears to be the bedroom. You collapse onto the bed, staring up at the ceiling as tears well up in your eyes. You think about Zemo’s touch, his bite—the moments that led to this life growing inside you.
And then your mind fixates on those injections again. The thought that they could have harmed your baby is unbearable. You feel a surge of determination amidst your fear and guilt.
“I’m done with them,” you mutter to yourself, your voice gaining strength with each word. “No more.”
You search through your bag and find the remaining vials and syringes. For a moment, you just stare at them, feeling both anger and relief course through your veins. Then with deliberate motions, you throw them into the wastebasket by the bedside table.
As if sensing your turmoil, Oeznik reappears silently at the doorframe. “Everything alright?” he asks softly.
You wipe away stray tears and nod. “I’m stopping them,” you say firmly. “There is no need to refill my medicine. I won't be taking it.”
His eyes flicker with something like approval or maybe relief—it’s hard to tell—but he simply nods in agreement. “Understood.”
You lie back down on the bed after he leaves again, a strange sense of calm washing over you despite everything else swirling around in your mind. You’ve made one decision; now it’s time to face whatever comes next. A terrifying thought.
For now though—just for now—you let yourself breathe.
Tumblr media
You wake to the scent of something warm and savory. The room is dim, shadows stretching across the floor as you blink groggily, trying to orient yourself. It takes a moment for your surroundings to come into focus—the safe house, the bed, the events of the past few days crashing back into your consciousness like a tidal wave.
Your body feels heavy, limbs weighed down by exhaustion and lingering aches. You push yourself up slowly, propping yourself against the headboard. A soft knock at the door startles you slightly.
“Miss Diana?” Oeznik’s voice is gentle but firm, carrying a note of concern.
“Come in,” you croak, your throat dry and scratchy.
The door opens quietly, and Oeznik steps inside carrying a tray laden with food. The aroma makes your stomach rumble in protest. You realize with a start that you haven’t eaten in what feels like forever.
“I brought you something to eat,” Oeznik says, setting the tray on the bedside table. “You’ve been asleep for quite some time—about eighteen hours.”
Eighteen hours. The number shocks you, but then again, it makes sense. Your body had been running on fumes for so long; it’s no wonder it finally gave out.
“You need to take care of yourself,” he continues, his tone leaving no room for argument. “You’re not just responsible for your own well-being now.”
The reminder sends a shiver through you. Your hand instinctively moves to rest on your stomach, where new life grows. You nod slowly, acknowledging his words.
“Thank you,” you say quietly, reaching for a piece of bread from the tray. The first bite is almost heavenly; you hadn’t realized just how hungry you were until now.
Oeznik watches as you eat, his expression softening slightly. “If there’s anything else you need—anything at all—don’t hesitate to ask.”
You swallow another bite before looking up at him with gratitude. “I will.”
He dips his head in acknowledgment before stepping back towards the door. “I’ll leave you to rest,” he says gently. “But please remember to take care of yourself.”
As he exits the room, closing the door behind him with a soft click, you let out a long breath and continue eating slowly, savoring each bite. As much as you wish for the food to bring you warm and soothe your growing fears, all your mind can focus on it that you are pregnant and without your alpha.

5 Months Later
Your hands move almost frantically, grabbing every towel, sheet, and piece of clothing within reach. The safe house has never felt this small before, every corner filled with the evidence of your growing desperation. Your omega instincts have taken over, driving you to create a nest—a place of comfort and safety for you and your unborn child.
But you’ve never done this before. The pile on the floor is messy, haphazard. Towels draped over chairs, sheets twisted into knots, clothes strewn about in disarray. You’re not sure what it’s supposed to look like, only that it’s not enough. It doesn’t feel right. It's not enough.
You drag another blanket from the closet and throw it onto the heap, then collapse onto it, breathing heavily and trying to rub your scent into the nest to make it more… right. Nothing changes and you feel like screaming in frustration. All you muster is a whimper as you press a hand against your enlarged belly. Your heart races in your chest, and your hands shake with the effort. Your body is screaming for rest, but your mind won’t let you stop. You need to finish this; you need to make it perfect. But it's not!
The scent of fresh linens mingles with the faint hint of dust in the air, but it’s not what you crave. You long for his scent—Zemo’s scent. Even just a trace of it would calm your racing heart, soothe the anxiety clawing at your insides. Your omega whines internally, a desperate plea for its alpha.
You clutch one of his old shirts—left behind in a drawer—from when he had worn it years ago. You press it to your face, inhaling deeply, hoping to catch any lingering trace of him. Nothing. You want to cry, or wail. Your omega likes that option, for it will surely call your alpha back to you.
Your omega stirs in agitation, yearning for more than just a scent on fabric. It wants him here, by your side, holding you close and reassuring you that everything will be okay. But he’s not here. He's not here.
You curl up in the middle of the nest, clutching the shirt tightly against your chest as tears prick at your eyes. The ache in your heart is almost unbearable as you realize how much you miss him—how much you need him right now.
But there’s no time for tears or longing; you have to keep going. More towels, more shirts. Something. You force yourself up again, grunting as you struggle to get your body off the floor. Your belly is so big now, so heavy. You grab more blankets from another room and adding them to the pile. As you work tirelessly to build something that resembles a nest—something that might bring some measure of comfort—you can’t shake the feeling that something vital is missing.
You know what it is; or rather who it is. It makes tears leak down your face because he isn't here.
You collapse in the center of your messy nest, panting heavily, sweat clinging to your skin. The room closes in on you, your heartbeat echoing in your ears. Tears spill from your eyes, soaking into the blankets and clothes surrounding you. Your body trembles with exhaustion, muscles aching from the relentless drive to create a space that feels safe—a space that feels like home.
But it’s not enough. Nothing about this chaotic heap of fabric brings you any peace. It’s a poor substitute for what you truly need: Zemo’s presence, his scent, his touch. The thought makes another sob tear through you, raw and jagged.
You clutch the shirt tighter against your chest, wishing desperately that it could somehow summon him to your side. The ache in your heart grows sharper with every passing second. You bury your face in the fabric, inhaling deeply in a futile attempt to catch even the faintest trace of his scent.
The nest feels wrong, incomplete. You feel wrong—lost without him here to ground you. Your omega howls in frustration and sorrow, its cries reverberating through your very soul.
Another wave of sobs wracks your body, and you curl into a tighter ball, clutching the shirt as if it’s the only thing keeping you from completely unraveling. The tears flow freely now, each one a testament to how deeply you miss him.
The weight of your emotions and physical exhaustion finally begins to pull you under. Your sobs gradually subside into hiccuping breaths as your body succumbs to the need for rest. You’re too tired to fight anymore—to keep pushing yourself when there’s nothing left to give.
As sleep creeps over you, a part of you hopes that maybe—just maybe—you’ll find some solace in your dreams. A fleeting moment where Zemo is with you again, even if only in your mind. Your breathing slows, the tension easing from your muscles as darkness claims you.
Yet sleep eludes you. Every time you close your eyes, your mind jerks you awake with a jolt, demanding you continue nesting. Your body aches, muscles twitching with the relentless need to make the space perfect. Each attempt to settle down is interrupted by another burst of energy, driving you to rearrange the blankets and pillows once more.
You toss and turn, sweat slicking your skin as frustration mounts. The urge to nest is overwhelming, primal, consuming every thought. You drag yourself out of the nest again, gathering more towels from the bathroom, another blanket from the closet. Your hands move almost mechanically, folding and refolding, arranging and rearranging. But no matter what you do, it never feels right.
You slump back into the center of the nest, gasping for breath as exhaustion seeps into your bones. Tears blur your vision, and a choked sob escapes your lips. The room feels suffocatingly small, the walls closing in on you as your omega howls in despair.
Just when you think you can't take it anymore, the door creaks open. You don’t even have the strength to look up, your body too heavy with fatigue and emotion.
A familiar scent fills the room—rich, comforting, grounding. Your heart leaps in recognition even before his voice reaches your ears.
"Diana."
Your head snaps up, eyes wide as they lock onto Zemo standing in the doorway. He moves toward you with purposeful strides, his eyes filled with concern and something else—something that makes your heart ache with longing.
You try to speak but only manage a strangled whimper as he kneels beside you. His hands are gentle but firm as they cup your face, his thumbs brushing away the tears streaking down your cheeks.
"I'm here," he murmurs softly, his breath warm against your skin. "I'm here now, Draga."
The tension in your body melts away under his touch, replaced by a profound sense of relief. You lean into him, burying your face in his chest as more tears spill forth—not from sadness or frustration this time but from sheer overwhelming emotion.
You pull away from Zemo, anger simmering beneath the surface. "You left me like this," you spit out, voice trembling with fury and exhaustion. "I’ve been agonizing over possibly injuring our child alone. All because of those damn injections I was taking before I knew I was pregnant."
Zemo’s eyes soften, his hands still cradling your face. “Diana,” he begins, his tone soothing but firm, “there were things that needed to be done before I could return to you. Important things.”
“Important?” you nearly shout, your body trembling with the effort. Your protective Omega instincts make your eyes blaze with fury. “More important than being here for me? For our baby?”
He shakes his head, a pained expression crossing his features. “No, never more important than you. But necessary.”
Your breath hitches as tears blur your vision again. The weight of everything—the fear, the uncertainty, the loneliness—crashes down on you. A whine stirs in your throat, a noise of defeat. “I’ve been so scared,” you whisper, voice cracking. “Scared that I hurt our baby with those injections.”
Zemo’s grip tightens slightly, grounding you. “Diana,” he says softly but urgently, “listen to me. Those injections—once I realized what they were and that you were an omega—I started weaning you off them in Madripoor.”
You blink at him in confusion, the words not quite sinking in. “What do you mean?”
“The injections you took while pregnant,” he explains slowly, his eyes never leaving yours, “were nothing but saline and a nonharmful scent that mimics chemicals. They couldn’t harm you or our child.”
The revelation hits you like a freight train. Relief floods through you so intensely that your knees buckle, and Zemo catches you effortlessly, pulling you into his embrace.
You break down completely then, sobs wracking your body as the tension and fear finally release their grip on you. You can’t find it in yourself to be mad at him anymore, or angry—not when he’s here now, holding you together when you feel like falling apart. He was the entire reason why you felt like you were falling apart, yet you still couldn't be mad at him.
His hands stroke your hair soothingly as he murmurs comforting words into your ear. “It’s okay,” he whispers over and over again. “I’ve got you now.”
You cling to him, drawing strength from his presence—your alpha, who is finally here with you.
Eventually, Zemo stands and helps you up gently, guiding you out of the room and into the hallway where Oeznik waits patiently.
“We’re going to a new safe house,” Zemo tells you softly as he leads you outside to a waiting car.
The drive is quiet to the airport but not uncomfortable; Zemo keeps one hand on yours the entire time as if reassuring both of you that this is real—that he’s really here. You are carefully helped onto the plane and directed to a seat where Zemo sits next to you.
The hum of the private jet's engines fills the cabin, a constant, soothing background noise as you sit beside Zemo. His hand never leaves yours, grounding you with his presence. Oeznik pilots the plane with practiced ease, guiding you through the clouds toward your destination.
Your heart races with anticipation and anxiety, a strange mix that leaves you breathless. So close, need nest. Nest. Zemo’s thumb strokes the back of your hand in slow, reassuring circles. You lean your head against his shoulder, closing your eyes and letting the rhythmic motion of his touch calm your racing thoughts.
“We’ll be there soon,” Zemo murmurs softly into your ear, his breath warm against your skin.
You nod slightly, not trusting your voice to speak. Time bends to your addled mind, making the trip seem faster than it is. Oeznik’s voice crackles through the intercom.
“We’re approaching the landing strip.” When the plan lands, you bare barely unglue yourself from Zemo's side to exit the plan. Zemo squeezes your hand gently as he stands, guiding you to follow him. You grip his hand tightly, drawing strength from his presence as you make your way off the jet and into a waiting car.
The drive up the winding mountain roads is both exhilarating and nerve-wracking. The Swiss Alps loom majestically around you, their snow-capped peaks glistening in the sunlight. Your mind drifts back to the conversation on the plane—the reassurance that everything will be okay now that he’s here.
Finally, the car pulls up to a secluded chalet nestled in a grove of pine trees. The air is crisp and clean, filled with the scent of pine and fresh snow. Zemo leads you inside without a word, his grip firm yet gentle as he guides you through the cozy interior.
The chalet feels like a sanctuary—warm wood tones and soft lighting creating an atmosphere of comfort and safety. Zemo’s scent is everywhere here, enveloping you in its rich, comforting embrace. He leads you up a staircase to a bedroom at the end of the hall. Your heart pounds in your chest as he opens the door and steps aside to let you enter first.
The sight before you takes your breath away. The room is dominated by a large bed piled high with blankets and pillows—a nest meticulously crafted and coated in Zemo’s scent. The air is thick with it, wrapping around you like a warm embrace.
Zemo stands behind you, his presence a comforting weight. "I prepared this for you," he says softly, his voice filled with an emotion you can’t quite name. You turn to look at him, your eyes wide with gratitude and something deeper—something that makes your heart ache in a way that’s both painful and beautiful.
Without another word, you move to the nest, sinking down into the soft layers of blankets and pillows. The bed is vast and inviting, and you curl up in the center, pulling a blanket to your nose to breath in his scent. Zemo follows, sitting beside you and watching with an intensity that you don't register. You can't, your mind is only focused on his scent enveloping you. It's the perfect nest.
