It’s so hyperspecific but one of my favorite tropes ever has GOT to be a character thinking they know someone better than anyone else, and then being wrong. Maybe they used to be right, maybe they were just deluded, but at some point they have to face that they don’t have the whole picture (and quite possibly never will)
