American Mustang in Arizona par Karen Fuller Via Flickr : This mare was crossing the Salt River in Arizona, with her band. As she stepped into the water, she paused for a drink. I love the reflection that was made, She was so graceful. Life can be hard for these mustangs. The drought last year, was extremely hard on them.

So. Went better than I thought it would. Not as good as I hoped, but better than I thought was likely.

Saltriv immediately forgave me. Burhalla...he's mad at me, but he said I'm still his friend.

They're going to be coming back with me to my world for a while.

Maybe I'll start sharing this blog with them.

HELLLLOOOO, IS ANYBODY THEEEEEEEERE? IS ANYBODY THEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEERE? IT'S ME , DEOXYS. THAT'S THE NAME. DEOXYS' THE NAME, FLEXING'S MY GAME. I'M LIKE A SUPERHERO, I'M SO BUFF. SO MUSCULAR. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA. THAT WAS MY MUSCLES SCREAMING, NOT ME, JUST FOR CLARIFICATION. ANY OTHER SUPERHEROES AROUND? ANY OTHER HEROES? REGULAR HEROES? NORMAL HEROES? WHERE EVEN AM I? WHAT IS THIS- WHATS THE HISTORY HERE? ANY BEACHES? I LOVE BEACHES. I LOVE SHORES. I FLEX SO GOOD AT THEM. A BABABABABA

All three members of Team Searchlights stared at Deoxys in various stages of confusion. Saltriv was tilting their head. Burhalla's eyes were wide and his mouth was agape. And Gen was staring in shock, his body trembling.

"Um...h-hi?" Gen said, the first to speak up. "I...don't know of a-any heroes. Don't remember much of anything, r-really."

"Well, there's the World-Savers' Council!" Saltriv said. A smile had reappeared on their face, and their tail was wagging. "They're a group of people who saved our world! My uncle is one of them!"

"Yeah. Two of them helped me out, too, a while back," Burhalla said, smiling as well. "They're the coolest!"

Gen began to clutch onto his reunion cape.

"As for beaches...at least nearby, there's the tiny one over by the river," Burhalla said, glancing at somewhere through the fog. "Or Blistering Shore. Though that one's a mystery dungeon."

"Yep...don't want to go there again for a long time...not after what happened on floor 4," Saltriv said, their leaf beginning to droop.

"Me neither...floor 3 was a nightmare," Gen added, his trembling getting worse.

Burhalla walked over to the two of them, and put his hands on their backs. "Don't think we're gonna have to go there again anytime soon. We've rescued Flapple, things will be ok."

"Even with...what happened on floor 4?" Saltriv asked.

"...I can't say for certain. Don't want to lie to you. But I think so," Burhalla said. "Shadow Pokemo, not, or somewhere in between, you're still my best friend, Saltriv."

"Thanks, Burhalla," Saltriv replied, their leaf lifting back up.

Gen remained silent.

"Well. I dunno yet. It'll be my first time getting to the spring itself! You gotta go through the dungeon before it to get there, but it's tough! It's a winding path through a dark cave, and it's kinda hard to breathe, and apparently the floor is slippery. I just fly over it, but I'm just a little ol' Butterfree, and the Pokemon that live in the area are a lot bigger! I got blasted by a Sliggoo in there last time I tried! So yeah, can't tell ya much from experience."

"But I've heard from passing explorers what's supposed to be there! They all seemed kinda grouchy cause, well, it's humid in there, and kinda foggy, but there's supposed to be this amazing treasure inside that shows itself at night! And it leaves this sparkly stuff behind when the sun rises, and you can take it with you! I didn't get a good look at what the team was showing off, so I wanna see what it is! I just love treasure, and I wanna know what it looks like in there if it's pretty!"

A trio of Pokemon traipsed through the foggy woods surrounding Overcast Village. A Charmander leading the way, as a Chikorita and Oshawott followed behind.

"Almost th-there?" the Oshawott asked, trying to see if he could spot the village through the thick fog.

"Not quite..." the Charmander answered, his flame providing a light through the fog.

"What a mission, though, huh? Not any shadow Pokemon this time, but we still got through a pretty tough dungeon!" the Chikorita said, swaying their leaf to the side.

"I g-guess..." the Oshawott added, fidgeting with the reunion cape he wore.

"We all had a part in coming up with it!" Saltriv said, swaying their leaf.

"Yeah! I came up with the idea 'Team Light', Gen came up with 'Team Search', and Saltriv put them together into 'Team Searchlights!" Burhalla added.

"We...h-haven't been on too m-many adventures yet together," Gen said, clutching onto his reunion cape. "Mostly just Twig Woodland and Blistering Shore."

wait i just realized. the reason they probably insisted on only running each road to 7 campaign for only a week even though there's no fucking content this year, and other events with less interesting shit to do got extended to 2 weeks, and the recollection quests are an absolute bitch and people would want more time to prepare or grind/replay them for fun or do interludes is. 7 days. that's probably literally actually the only fucking reason they did that. god i hate this game's constant post-saltriver hardon for surface-level aesthetic gestures at thematic coherency over reasonable gameplay decisions so much it's unreal.

Gen has a fantastic relationship with his parents. They are very kind and caring towards him and Nisaqui, without being overbearing. They love him very much, and he loves them in turn. They’re one of the primary reasons he wants to go back home so bad, he wants to be with his family again.

Saltriv also has a great relationship with their parents, though their father is often gone for work. They love their mother, and really look up to their uncle, Acacia. Both Saltriv and their mother cried tears of joy when Saltriv returned home after their disappearance.

Burhalla’s relationship with his parents is...complicated. He was very close to his mother, until she died. However, his father kept her death a secret from him for years, saying that she’s “busy with rescue team work in other continents”. When the truth came out, it drove a rift between Burhalla and his father, and led to his hatred of lies.

Coleane has a rough relationship with her parents. She never knew her father, he left her and her mother when she was an egg. Her mother loves Coleane, but does not care for her admiration of humans, thinking that humans are “ruining tradition”. She is especially strict regarding Coleane’s name, and sometimes revokes her name priveleges as punishments for things, only letting her be called Tropius at home for up ton a week at a time. Coleane doesn’t know how to feel about this.
