Hello! I have come asking for you to info-dump about the the modern human au. I full of brain rot of them (especially after the last thing you posted about them, damn) Maybe you can tell us a bit more Sally!!

lucky for you, i've been full of that good ol brainrot As Well! thoughts! feelings! ideas! i got em!

so since we're already on the subject of the Crash Arc, allow me to expand on it for a moment before i get to Sally Thinkings! if you've read the snippet, you may have noticed the extent of Wally's injuries was not listed yet. well! he got messed up with a capital F! since it's fiction and i'm god in this scenario, i'm veering slightly away from realistic damage, immediate & lasting. bc lets be real. if i stuck to "this is as realistic as i can make it", then Wally would be aaaaaabsolutely fucked. it was a bad crash in a very unsafe vehicle at high speeds. like - this is what happened. a drunk driver hit Home going 70 down the freeway. swerve, fishtail, tumble down a (small, shallow, really its more like a glorified ditch) ravine with trees and rocks and shit on it. absolute miracle that Wally didn't die in the crash, let alone during the solid half hour (slightly longer) he was trapped in Home before someone noticed the crash site and called emergency personnel. Wally "hanging up" on Barnaby was actually the impact jarring him so he slipped and hit the end call button. but yeah without going into technicalities and detail, Wally has some lasting damage in his dominant hand. It takes extensive physical therapy for him to be able to paint/draw again at the same level he had been at. the hematoma hadn't done a lot of brain damage that wouldn't resolve itself with time. in my mind, when Wally wakes up in the hospital, for a few days he's very confused and his memory is shot. he'll wake up, interact, then go to sleep, but when he wakes up again its like waking up for the first time again. he just can't retain memories for a bit. he's got some severe brain fog. his mood is also kinda fucked with - he's uncharacteristically irritable with low patience, etc. these are all things that clear up with time, but in my mind Wally has chronic migraines going forward. bad ones! and there are days where it's harder fr him to concentrate. and yk. a teeny bit of chronic pain where his shin bone was pinned back together and where his hand was essentially crushed. but other than that he's fine going forward! good days and bad days!

but enough about that! You Want To Hear About Sally!

i imagine that she becomes quite successful in the theater industry. i'm not too familiar with it myself, so i'm gonna be uh. Vague about it? but she starts her own theater troupe - it's a bit of a commute from home base to the town she works in, where the theater is located in, but she makes it work! of the group, she's probably away more than any of them. working on shows, traveling to work on other ones - i like to think she's been on Broadway! she probably has had opportunities to do tv/movie acting, but idk... i feel like Sally would be like "nah. live shows or nothing". maybe at some point she takes up voice acting gigs, as long as she can do them from home. she probably has her own little room-turned-VA-studio thing. idk how that works either! it seems right! but yes Howdy's store's automated messages and advertisements are in Sally's voice. she's probably picked up a temporarily modeling gig here and there.

so Sally is very very busy. Poppy is supportive. everyone is, and they all love to help out when they can - and reel Sally in when the "stardom" starts to get to her head. they do their best to acclimate to occasionally getting jumpscared by her voice in a grocery store or in. idk. fashion shoots. victoria's secret billboards. that last one was a joke! maybe. i think she would.

i also like to imagine Sally like... getting some sort of award and then spending a solid five minutes naming her friends, thanking them with specificity, and then plugging their own stuff. they probably have a rotation for who accompanies her as her plus one for events and parties she may or may not be invited to. she's not like... a Big celebrity but! she's Known and Liked! she has Connections! i like to imagine her and Wally looking dapper as fuck at a Venue...

so the friend group typically stays together, with Sally going off to do her Things the most. she makes sure to schedule time to be with her friends and girlfriend/wife/Poppy between work and gigs and etc. she somehow finds a balance with Ease. or apparent ease... someone get this girl a vacation...

This month I am participating in The Disneymovieathon. I’m really excited about this one because High School Musical is one of my favourite Disney originals! I’m on the science kids team. All book descriptions are from Goodreads.

Read a book that is pink or glittery

I’ve picked The Babysitter’s Coven by Kate Williams. The entire cover isn’t pink but there’s a lot of it throughout.

I picked Gemina by Jay Kristoff & Amie Kauffman for this prompt. I really enjoyed Illuminae by them.

I picked Frankly in Love by Davd Yoon. I’ve had this on my TBR for a while and really want to get to it.

But he's got strong feelings for a girl in his class, Brit - and she's not Korean. I got Date Me, Bryson Keller by Kevin van Whye when I used the number generator. This is a new book on my TBR.

I picked Normal People by Sally Rooney for this prompt. When I read it the first time, it took me a while to realise I was actually enjoying it because I found it strange to be honest. Now, it’s one of my favourites of the year.

After googling what this meant, I’ve gone with Conversations With Friends by Sally Rooney. Most people say you like one or the other, so I’m interested to see which I prefer.

about; So, Maria comes from quite a wealthy background? Her father is a really well renowned surgeon, and her mother is a big city lawyer, and between the two of them they’re pretty well known and respected. Growing up she was always much closer to her father of the two, but mostly because he always encouraged her to apply for med school which, in all honesty, was exactly what she always wanted to do? A part of her wanted to follow that path because of her father, but also it was just something that always appealed to her in every aspect regardless. Her mother always wanted her to go to law school and follow her footsteps, though, and while Maria’s got a sharp tongue and was definitely well able to spar with her mum and talk back, it wasn’t ever something that interested her? And it annoyed her mother to no end that she 1) was always closer to her father, and 2) had the makings of a great lawyer but no passion for it. She kept her chin up, though, and studied hard and got through med school with flying colours. Because of her dad being who he is, and being such a respected surgeon and having a certain degree of fame across the states, it wasn’t hard for her to get a fellowship and to pursue her dreams. She knows that she got a leg up because of her father’s name, and it doesn’t really sit too well with her because she’s all too focused on getting to where she wants to be on her own? But she won’t fight back either because, in the end, if she does she could potentially lose her position and she’s doing what she’s doing to help others and save lives? Anyway, she’s really into fashion and likes pampering herself and wearing expensive boots and looking hot, and she’s really self assured and confident when it comes to her appearance and whatnot. Recently, however, she actually learned that her father - who she has grown up with - isn’t actually her biological father. He mother had an affair years ago with her high school sweetheart, and he was of much lower status and her parents looked down on him and were disgusted by the whole thing. Between Maria’s grandparents and her father, they all encouraged her mother to leave him and to go back to Maria’s dad, and so she did. He welcomed her back with open arms but that’s a large part of the reason behind the tension in their relationship, and the trust they’ll never really regain. But it’s also why he really laps up knowing that Maria favours him as opposed to her mum, and why it upsets her mum so much, because they’ve been lying to her all along. Anyways, she found out about her biological father because he actually passed away? And he left Maria his practice in his will. He had a small medical practice, and he was always on the verge of being shut down because nobody really needed him anymore? When you’ve got big city practices and hospitals, and even private medicine now, there really wasn’t any need for his own place? The place only has 3 different check up rooms, one receptionist, and - including himself - just 2 doctors. They didn’t even have a whole lot of the appropriate equipment and often would have to take their work over to the hospital and use their facilities, but he was always qualified to do the job and it was his pride and joy, which is why he’s left it to Maria. She’s furious with her parents for having lied to her, and doesn’t really want anything to do with them right now, and she’s sort of focused on checking out this practice. She’s a bit dubious because she doesn’t really see the point in it and thinks there’s no need when hospitals exist and she could have her dream job, but just you watch her get attached to it and fight to keep the place going. She’s pretty headstrong and all about ladies supporting ladies, but she can be a bit high strung and needs to learn how to relax at times. She can be kinda judgy without intending to? And she definitely needs someone to come along and show her how to just let her hair down and not think about work for five minutes at a time. Because if she’s not focused on work, or the stress of her life and her parents, then she unwinds by spending, spending, and more spending, which isn’t exactly the right way to go about things, and she has more shoes than she needs, but she also has the money to splash? Which is a habit she’s gotta break out of. She’s a little underdeveloped, but that’s her for now!

about; So, Ricky isn’t incredibly developed or particularly interesting? He’s Cedric’s brother, as you guys know, and he’s definitely a lot more outgoing and confident than his big brother. In all honesty, quite often Ricky has taken on the role as the big brother for both Cedric and Ariadne, despite being the middle child? He was always popular at school and always had the ‘cool’ kids on his side, where Cedric did not. So whenever Cedric was being picked on or made fun of - both in and out of school - Alaric would jump into action and have his back and he’d never let anyone talk down to Cedric. He’s pretty much the most attuned to Cedric and has a lot of patience for him and letting him mull things over and work stuff out, and he’s always tried to be on hand to explain things to him when he doesn’t necessarily get your jokes or sarcasm, or to calm him down when he’s suffering with his anxiety? Their parents always struggled a little with it, which left Ricky and Ari to pick up the pieces, and Ricky was always sort of full steam ahead and would take charge and look after Cedric - where sometimes Ari could be a little unthinking. Anyway, one thing that was always for certain, and where he differed from his siblings, was that he sort of lapped up the fact that they had money? Where Ari is a little more eccentric in her style, and Cedric opts for his tweed suits and knitted sweaters, Alaric always favoured fancy suits and well polished shoes and the like. He wasn’t an over the top party-person or anything of the sort, but he was definitely the most outgoing of the bunch and spent a lot of time at galas and events and putting on smiles to impress people and make the family look good. Growing up, though, because he’s quite a handsome boy and because their family came from money, a lot of people would initially target Cedric and try and manipulate him? It would be pure gold diggers who were only interested in their money, but because Cedric doesn’t often pick up on really obvious tells, and because he’s not a particularly social person, it would always fall flat? People would try and get in with him, because they saw him as childlike and easy to manipulate, when in reality he’d brush them off - albeit unintentional - in such a manner that they eventually gave up? So then they would move on to Ricky, because people realised he was the kind of guy who loved sipping champagne and making the rounds of ballrooms and events and conversing with people, so girls would latch on to him and try to win his affections. After the first three or four relationships he soon came to realise that people were only in it for the money? And he was pretty heartbroken every time he fell for someone who was using him. But, the thing is about Ricky is that... While he’s an outgoing fella and quite charismatic in some regards, he’s always had this yearning for something real? He looks after Cedric so often and while he doesn’t begrudge him even a second, he does resent his parents a little for their lack of interest in their kids at times? They’re not necessarily bad people but they can be a little absent and unhelpful, and Alaric hasn’t ever felt anything close to what real love should be, and he really yearns to find that special someone? So eventually he started playing along and letting people use him? His money was still gonna be there so he kinda figured there was no harm in it, and would let girls use him because he just liked to immerse himself in the facade of it all and pretend that these girls on his arm actually loved him for him, and he tried to ignore the truth behind it all, which is a bit sad. Anyways, he’s unemployed and all of his income as of right now is from his parentage, but he’s spent all of his life putting on fake smiles and acting up for other people, and for himself, that he hasn’t actually got any clue what he wants to do with his life, or what his talents are. Right now he’s gonna be helping Cedric out at the store, and he has a huge soft spot for antique radios and gramophones and suchlike because he’s a huge fan of music. But yeah, most of all he’s pretty well polished in the way he dresses, and goes to all these lavish events with gorgeous girls on his arm and he's got this little ray of hope where he tells himself that maybe one of them will eventually fall for him for real and that their lies won’t matter? But yeah, you’ll probably find him at the end of the night with some gorgeous girl in the corner getting up to no good, because in all honesty he sorta uses sex as a vice to forget about the fact that none of it’s real? Even though it’s the gold digging, fake as shoes he’s hooking up with, lmao. Anywho, he’s not much, but that’s all I have for him now.

Things to look forward to

I have been stressing out for about 2 weeks because I'm taking one of the toughest classes I've ever had. There are only 3 exams but if you fail one you fail the entire class regardless of how you did on the homework, quizzes and other exams. Tonight was the first exam, after spending 6 hours cursing and having an ongoing anxiety attack while studying for it, I got a 92. I cannot explain the adrenaline rush of seeing that grade load. It was like finally getting oxygen after not being able to breathe for a long time. But that's college. Onto less stressful topics -- August 5th is Shannon's 30th birthday and last year I decided that I would try to do one big fantastic thing for each person in my life as I am able to do it. I bought my sister tickets to see Ed Sheeran (which is holy shit expensive) as a birthday gift. For Shannon I have been planning my surprise for 3 months - 30 is a big milestone. She isn't following me on this Tumblr so I'm going to spill the beans here (I'm so excited). My idea was to do 30 gifts + 1 for good luck, encompassed in a perfect day. So here is the itinerary (yes I created an itinerary): 10AM: arrive to her house with coffee & bagels for breakfast. Present her with her first gifts-- a T-shirt with "1987: 30 years of being awesome" for her to wear through out the rest of the day until later that night. The idea is everyone involved in her day will sign the back with a good wishes message. 10:30AM: 2nd gift - a $100 gift card and trip to Torrid for her to pick out a birthday outfit she will change into later in the day 11:15AM: gel manicure & pedicure at a salon, yes I booked the appointment over a week ago 11:45AM: 100 pop culture stickers (because she has a bunch of stuff she can decorate them with) 12:15PM: a funko Sally (NBC) keychain (she just got a new car and I figured it'd be cute) 12:45PM: $50 Sephora gift card & makeup appointment 1:15PM: jack & Sally car decal (see the 12:15 detail) 1:45PM: an Alice in Wonderland POP figure of Alice (it's her favorite movie) 2:15PM: a hair appointment to get her hair styled for the day (I already have an appointment for her on the 30th of this month to get her hair dyed the way she wants so its all ready for her birthday) 2:45PM: an assortment of bath bombs (because every girl should be able to relax and pamper herself) 3:15PM: Alice in Wonderland wall art for her room or porch (again it's her favorite movie) 3:45PM: a promise friendship ring with 3 hearts from me, Pierre & Tony 4:15PM: some trees 4:45PM: a new glass piece from Wonderland 5:15PM: the deposit & tattoo appointment consultation with a $200 gift card towards her Alice in Wonderland tattoo 5:45PM: A bottle of her favorite wine 6:15PM: A special funny wine glass for our girls nights 6:45PM: A pack of cigarettes for the rest of the night 7:15PM: 3 gifts from Pierre 7:45PM: a $100 gift card, birthday shout-out, and picture taken at a fancy restaurant with reservations already made for dinner & dessert with her bf 8:15PM: a new journal for Q&A for 5 years (she loves writing) 8:45PM: a $20 gift card for coffee because she's going to need it 9:15PM: Slytherin PJ pants 9:45PM: a samcro t shirt (babes of anarchy is more like it) 10:15PM: a surprise party with jello shots & wonderland themed desserts 10:45PM: a NBC coffee mug 11:15PM: a stages of the moon watch (because I stalked her Tumblr and know she's wants it) 11:45PM: me running to a 24 hour Walgreens to start getting all the pictures developed as I bought disposable cameras for everyone involved to capture the day 12AM: a scrapbook for all the photos were going to develop with emoji stickers for her to caption the photos with I already told her about the Halsey tickets I bought us for October so cats out of the bag on that one :3 Hopefully she enjoys the day as much as I enjoyed planning each detail. Not every gift is something big and exciting but each is a small detail of our friendship. She's one of the oldest friends I have. We met in 2003 and we've definitely had our falling outs but somehow weve always worked it out. We may drive each other crazy because of our personality differences but I have to give her credit where it's due. She has never done anything spiteful against me even in the midst of our fights. She has respected any time I created distance. She has only wished good things upon me and so I wanted to give her a day to remember. I firmly believe everyone should have at least one perfect day a year. Of course I hope for more than one, but when I'm capable of creating one for a person so deserving I will do my best to deliver it. Well time for bed. Most of these gifts finally came in the mail this week & because that test is over I finally had some time to write about this. So excited to see everything come to life in a little over 2 weeks!
