In order to make myself depressed I decided to write down all my longfic wips and categorize how many words they are and how finished they are.

When the Dust Settles- Danganronpa, multiple pairings - 80k words, 75% done.

drv3 kids are rescued before the filth murder and sent to Jabberwocky island to hide from Danganronpa. Not canon compliant because I forgot some of the details about how the third game ended when I started it, then decided I liked the misremembered ending better.

Baby, Don't Hurt Me - Sk8, Tadaai - 39k words, 20% done. maybe. my outline for this one is pretty loose.

Tadashi takes a bullet for Ainosuke, forcing them both to reconsider their relationship. Mostly a kind of Ainosuke rehabilitation fic about him loosing pretty much everything and having to rebuild his life from scratch. Honestly very attached to this one, but it's also sort of a 'Am I good enough to write this the way I want it' kind of thing...

The Snake, the Sun and the Blossoming Branch - sk8, matchasnakeblossom, 29k words, ?????% done.

Sequel to Recovery where Adam is dead and Tadashi is badly injured after their fall of the cliff. Tadashi doesn't know what to do with himself, but ends up with a job as the manager of Sia La Luce. This one is... complicated. I have a lot of ideas but no real plot, or maybe a lot of different ideas for plots that I'm not sure about. TBH I think I've probably written, like 60k words and shuffled them around, deleted and undeleted and I'm just stuck. A big problem is the Adam in Recovery is not really my actual impression of the character? Like, I started recovery very early in the show when Adam was still kind of Skateboard Hisoka so I just made him a pretty one-note villain, so it's hard to try and write all the Tadashi relationship stuff when the adam in that fic isn't really consistent with how I view adam... I still want to write it though. I like what i have and I like the character interactions.

Royal Pardon - hq!!, Sakuatsu, 37k words, 50% done

ABO royalty AU. Sakusa takes over Inarizaki, which was kind of a shithole. Atsumu and Osamu were planning a coup to dispose their father, and Atsumu convinces Sakusa to marry him in order to legitimize him to the people. Sakusa's a suspicious bastard and Atsumu's a tricky bastard. my first ABO fic and I was like 2k in before I realized I fucking forgot about Betas T.T. still, I have a solid outline for this one.

Star Crossed Rivals - p5, shuake, 18k words, 15% done

Up and coming actor Akechi accidentally falls in with Ren, who is working as a barista at LaBlanc. Ann is starring in a movie with Aketchi, and Shido is a retired actor who runs Akechi's talent agency that he joined to get close to Shido.

ok lol, so almost 200k words and five projects I should be working on. that's on top of an 'ideas' doc that's almost at 90k words and a handful of <5k word stories that I spun out into their own projects but haven't worked on much. that includes Plucked Strings, which I published the first chapter of and I have a lot of ideas for, or the full version of my vampire!Langa/hunter!Reki AU I wrote a short story about.

Honestly, now that I'm done wtih the Big Bang and Stolkholm is getting posted I need to decide what to work on. I always kind of want to pick dust settles since I'm so freaking close with it I just want to get it done and out there. I think I have the most momentum with Royal Pardon though...

Two-shot: so I’ve never published a two shot but I’ve thought about them. I’m sort of writing a Spamano one right now (will it ever be published?), but other than that. I haven’t written one.

Most popular multichapter: this monster of a fic that is supposed to be part 1 of 4. Yeah it’s a WIP but tis my passion, my everything. I’m gonna finish it even if it kills me, I’ve spent too long working on. Currently I’m in the process of a massive edit but once I finish THAT, chapter 18 (Jesus) will be up.

Actual worst part of writing: keeping myself motivated in order to write. It really sucks but every single day I at least force myself to open my laptop even if it’s just typing out a sentence or two.

How you choose your titles: typically when I’m writing my many (many many many) WIPs I use song lyrics. i’m sorry for every tear that’s dropped is one and I’m currently writing a sakuatsu fic I’ve titled sorrow could build a staircase. A basic approach but it gets the job done

Do I outline: yep. I whip out little notebooks and jot stuff down in there. It’s never pretty but outlines aren’t meant to be anyway ^^

Ideas I probably won’t get around to, but wouldn’t it be nice?: the god AU where matthew is the god of the hunt and gil is the god of war. I want to write that one so badly but I just don’t know when I will. The idea is still one of my favs.

Callouts @ me: it’s okay to take your time. It’s okay to write for ships that aren’t as “popular”, and the same goes for fandoms. Writing fanfiction is supposed to be fun!

Best writing traits: I’ve been told my dialogue and characterization are really good. I’d like to think I’m getting a lot better at detail too.

Spicy tangential opinion: abo is actually a really interesting concept and it’s one of my favorite tropes. Yeah, it can be...really icky if executed poorly. I’m gonna use the example of Oikawa real quick. Let’s say he’s an omega in a fic, but instead of the strong, charming, and masculine character he is in the show, he’s turned into a whiny and submissive thing just because he’s an omega. THAT is bad and gross. But the world of abo, the rules and the way writers can put gender roles, sexism, or gender isssues in our world into a world of fiction is really cool. And yeah, the sex can be, well, sexy (exposing myself). Anyway yeah. Abo is great if executed properly ^_^

Fandoms: The Mandalorian

Two-shot: I think the only two-parter I have is the pair lovingly known as Stranger-verse, but honestly they’re only tangentially related. I have started on a real Dancing with a Stranger sequel and that will be a true two-shot, the second taking place directly after DWAS. 

Most popular multichapter: A Simple Bounty…. my beloved…… also my only multichapter. So far? It’s still a WIP but it’s like. my passion project and (imo) still very readable in its current state (nudge nudge) and it will be finished eventually no matter how long it takes me. It’s close to reaching 6k views and is still my top kudos’d work! (Dancing with a Stranger is encroaching on that though)

Actual worst part of writing: Idk just like. Keeping up the habit? I can either get out 5k words in a day or I’m stuck with 1k words within a few months. I hate it, especially when I know what scenes I need to write but they’re just not coming out

How you choose your titles: I…. don’t know. Brainstorm on a few themes and pick out something that sounds good. A Simple Bounty was just because of the irony that I knew for a fact the bounty was not going to be simple even tho Din thought it was going to be. Otherwise, I just listen to music and hope something thematic pops out at me. 

Do you outline: If it’s more than like 1-2k words I at least have a general idea of what’s going to happen, but the only story I outlined fully was ASB cause it’s the longest

Ideas I probably won’t get around to, but wouldn’t it be nice?: probably The One Where There’s a Din Clone. also Han/Din/Luke kissing lessons. 

Callouts @ me: Don’t let your anxiety keep you from just putting words down on paper! You KNOW YOU CAN do this so why not just. fucking do it. Even if it’s terrible, nobody has to read it except for you so your weird fears are completely unsubstantiated. 

Best writing traits: Hmm, characterization and dialogue mostly! I’m good at letting characters be soft with each other while still having inner turmoil i guess. I also think I’m good at working in consent as well as some of the more awkward/realistic parts of sex (to an extent) while keeping it sexy. (I still laugh so hard at the scene in ASB where Han tried to f*nger Din’s ***** right after it was in his *** and Din was like um. no. go wash your hands you menace.) (unfortunately based on a real sexual interaction i had with a cis dude but he got pissy when i tried to express my boundaries 👎). I like writing about people having good, healthy sex in good, healthy relationships (DWAS being the exception to “healthy” but they’ll get there). 

Spicy tangential opinion: In addition to other weird notions about sex, the top/bottom dichotomy is a scourge on fandom and makes fanfiction just like. less good, on the whole. Topping and/or bottoming are simply sex acts and even when people have consistent preferences (which is MUCH less often than fanfic leads us to believe), it’s still a choice every single time people have sex. It sucks because I feel like if I write something that falls into the popular ideal for a certain ship (like rn I’m writing a fic where Din is both topping and domming for Luke), I’m “giving in” to the stereotypical tropes even though I know better and it makes me just…. not want to write what I want to write unless i’m somehow subverting those tropes.
