Pistoia (Tuscany). Church of the Tau (1300). San'Antonio abate. The church takes its name from the shape of the stick of the saint, in the shape of Tau. It is located in the parish territory of San Giovanni Fuorcivitas, in corso Silvano Fedi 28. The church and the adjoining convent were built around the first half of the 1300 by Fra Giovanni Guidotti and is dedicated to Sant'Antonio Abate, who is depicted like an old man with a long, white beard. The church of Tau takes its name from the cross that the religious wore sewn on the robe, the same shape that had the stick to which the saint used to lean. The material used in the construction is the "pietra forte", typical of Florentine culture.
