Imagine this chain of events:

1) “One Piece” live action is a massive success. Apparently, it broke a lot of Netflix records and outperformed “Stranger Things” and “Wednesday”.

2) A few months later, Netflix’s live action “Avatar the Last Airbender” also turns out to be a success. (For the sake of this post, ATLA’s success is more of an add-on rather than a requirement).

3) HBO sees Netflix’s success and immediately looks for anime shows to adapt. They quickly adopt Netflix’s strategy for “One Piece” in that they’re gonna bring in the original author as an executive producer. To compete with Netflix, they pick “Bleach” and “Hellsing” mainly because those shows are dark, which fits HBO’s style.

4) Simultaneously, Amazon does the same thing as HBO and Netflix. They pick “Naruto” and “Fullmetal Alchemist” as their shows.

5) Last but not least, Disney Plus gets in on the craze. Since they’re family friendly, they go with “Sailor Moon” and “Dragonball Z” (obviously, Disney already has experience with action-adventure franchises with super-powered people).

The end result: Because of Netflix breaking the anime-to-live action curse with “One Piece”, they cause a butterfly effect that ushers the return of the era of 2000s anime.

Recently came across lem0uro's old Saiya Moon art, and upon looking up more examples for a friend of mine I just happened to discover that somebody had uploaded most of the pages on Pinterest.

lem0uro hasn't been active in the Dragon Ball fandom for a good few years now (and as far as i can tell her only activity since early 2022 has been through Patreon exclusives) but I still to this day absolutely adore her art and feel like it'd be a waste not to preserve it, especially since I distinctly remember just how much love, care, and effort she put into this project specifically. So, in the interest of preservation, I uploaded the full comic (save for one page I unfortunately wasn't able to find), in order, to my Google Drive for your viewing/reading pleasure.

My Elementary school had the weirdest divide where if you were a guy you had to like Dragonball Z but if you were girl you had to enjoy Sailor Moon and let me tell you, it was weird thinking I was the only one who had siblings in my class cause I got to experience both AND Cardcaptor Sakura. That weirdly imposed gender divide was missing out on some GOOD SHIT! by denying their enjoyment of the other. Let the girls power up and go Super Saiyan. Let the boys magically transform. LET BOTH GO ON CARD CAPTURE ADVENTURES!

I finally found a website with all the original DIC dub episodes of Sailor Moon and downloaded them all!

Now I just gotta get all the episodes of the original Nelvana dub for Cardcaptors and the original Funimation dub of Dragonball Z.

Technically, I HAVE found all eps for both series, but one is a Youtube playlist and the other is an Internet Archive torrent and I have no idea how to download full playlists or use torrents.

Gotta preserve my own childhood since mega-weebs are trying their hardest to erase all these older dubs from existence for some reason (Don't get me wrong, I totally respect the original Japanese dubs and newer English redubs fitting closer to the source material. If that's what you like, more power to you, but please STOP trying to actively force stuff into being lost media! Let folks enjoy the versions they grew up with!).

I love Bleach but the fandom is so ridiculous with their power scaling in regards to other mangas.

“Humans in the Bleach world can’t respond to Spirtual Pressure, so Naruto and Luffy would just get crushed by that” yeah, no, not how it works, guys. Spiritual Pressure is just Haki or Chakra. The Ki from Hunter x Hunter? Same stuff.

Watching Sailor Moon right now and Sailor Pluto just used an attack called “Kronos Typhoon” to make two foes disappear, in a manner that I have to assume meant they were erased from Time Itself. Just because she’s not making the screen shake with her power doesn’t mean she’s not demonstrating a power level at least on-par with a Lieutenant.
