I’m more excited for Paige starting to call Warden Arcturus in The Mask Falling than I can describe. How will they decide on that? Will they have a discussion? Will Paige shade him before doing so? Will the first time come as a surprise? Will it have ... oh no, of course it’ll be filled this incredible yet soft sexual tension between them, the question is rather - will I’ll be reading the scene innumerable times afterward as a paragon of a ship or will it be so intense I’ll combust? When just Warden saying “hm” can be done sexily, Paige saying “Arcturus” with love instead of spite in a pivotal moment of their relationship will be breathtaking.

Samantha Shannon raised our standards with Paige x Warden so much, I’m not surprised she’s so open with hints to the progression of their relationship *cough* - I’m fully convinced she cannot disappoint there.

Basically. Voice is the first thing I notice about a person, so I tend to really be able to hear my characters’ voices.

Michael Myers (Coveralls)

It’s a pretty obvious thing Michael has more than one pair of coveralls, because hell, he needs to change it every day because he comes home covered in blood. Plus you decided to give him a mobile phone so you can keep in touch when he is away on killing sprees.

One time you decided to clean up your shared bedroom and came across one of his coveralls, lucky, not covered in blood. Your fingertips touched the fabric and you couldn’t stop yourself, but to try it on.

Of course, it was so big you looked kind of hilarious, and that’s when you decided to mess up a little with Michael. You let the zipper of the coveralls undone, exposing your skin almost to your private parts.

Taking your phone from the nightstand you snapped some pictures in front of your mirror trying to pose sexily, then you send them to him.

There was a brief silence of 5 minutes until you heard a ding coming from your phone. He sends you a message. ‘Open the door or else.’ Ohoooo

The Collector/Asa Emory (Black Turtleneck)

Asa was at the university, working and yours was the free day, so you decided to clean up a bit around the house, knowing what a neat freak your lover is.

You folded some clothes until you came across Asas’ black turtleneck that he used more on the night routines. The material was soft and it felt nice as your fingertips rubbed it. You knew how Asa looked in them, and your curiosity got the best of you.

You pulled your shirt off and pulled the black shirt over your form. Yes, it was much bigger, but you still looked down on it. An idea popped in your head and you knew you were in for some punishment tonight, but it was just oh so tempting.

Your hands pulled your pants down your legs, leaving you just with your white lacy panties and Asas’ turtleneck. Pulling your hair out of your bun, you let it down in messy curls.

Checking yourself in the mirror one time you agreed it was good enough. You snapped a picture of yourself in the mirror, a mischievous look on your face. You hit send and Asa instantly looked at it.

You bite your lip, wondering what he was writing. ‘You’re in for some punishment tonight.’ Of course, you didn’t expect anything else from him.

Chromeskull/Jesse Cromeans (Black Dress-shirt)

Jesse was away on ���business’ trips, again, so there wasn’t anything to do in his big home. You already watched some movies, tried to cook something and took a bath. You were bored!

After the bath you put on your favorite set of lacy lingerie, black of course and modeled into Jesses’ bedroom, looking into the full-body mirror. He hasn’t texted you today and a smirk formed on your face. Maybe you should take out your weapons.

Your steps took you into his walk-in closet, the smell of expensive cologne and manly musk still in the air. You snatched one of his black dress-shirts, the label of it ‘Versace’. You rolled your eyes, of course, he has some fine and pricey tastes.

Pulling his shirt over your much smaller form, some would say it was ridiculously large, but you begged to differ when you looked into the mirror. Snapping some pictures in a very provocative manner you send them. 5 minutes, 10 minutes. Nothing.

You sighed and walked to the kitchen pouring yourself a glass of white wine, then you heard a ding coming from your phone. A message from Jesse.

‘Are you trying to kill me here? It’s not easy to chase someone down with a boner!’ Serves him right for ignoring you the whole day.

Hannibal Lecter (Apron)

Hannibal was at work and you were at his home, waiting for him. You asked him if you could prepare something to eat and he said yes, just to clean up after.

You were making some cake, well more like tried. You were wearing Hannibals’ white apron and even with it you managed to get the floor on your face and clothes. Your eyes looked into your reflection from the shiny fridge and a naughty idea shake your head. You never have done this with Hannibal, but there is a first for everything.

You took your phone from your back pocket and snapped some selfies, your lips in a cute pout, looking all innocent at the camera. You laughed at your face and send it to your lover.

It didn’t take 5 minutes for him to respond, but his answer makes you blush deep red and gulp in excitement. ‘I hope you clean that up, you dirty dirty girl.’

Harry Warden (Boots)

This idea struck your head when you were sweeping the floors of your home. You came across one of Harrys’ boots, and he was away in the mines, again. The good part was that since you got together with him you gave him a mobile phone so you could keep in touch, the bad part was there was no signal down in the mines, just when he would exit them.

You took the black pair of shoes and walked into your bedroom, pulling out a set of red lingerie and stockings, dressing up and putting the boots on. Not bad.

Snapping one or two pictures of yourself in a sexy pose you send them to him. You will have to wait until he comes out to have a signal.

You walked downstairs and decided to make some pancakes, putting on just a white robe. After 30 minutes into cooking a ding pulled you away from the stove.

It was from Harry. ‘I’m on my way home. I hope you are still dressed like that.’ Oh, God.

I always bashed audiobooks

but I’ve gotta admit, there’s something about listening to Samantha Shannon’s (@sshannonauthor) The Bone Season series as I pack up to move into our new house (because graduating nursing school, turning 23, starting my grown up job, multiple Christmases, and having our 6-month wedding anniversary just wasn’t a busy enough December for me, apparently 🙄) I’m really really enjoying multitasking by “reading” while I do something I need to get done. Listening to the audiobooks adds a depth I hadn’t known I was missing just by reading. I’ll just have to be the annoying fan with a physical, ebook, and audiobook copy of each book in the series from now on😂

So I guess you could call this a pro audiobook post from someone who used to seriously bash them. I still above and beyond prefer physical books. I order ebooks so I can read anticipated books while I’m waiting for the physical copy to arrive 🤦🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️. But since I’m going to start walking to my big kid grown up job since it’s a whole two blocks from our new house, I think I might start listening to audiobooks on my walks to and from work as well.

If you haven’t tried audiobooks, give them a try. I always was super adamant that I’d hate them, but I kinda like being able to use them while I do other things. They’re convenient. Especially for rereading purposes.

Hi! I adore your books and I'm so excited for the next one! I have a question- in TSR, after Paige confesses to Warden the doubts that Jaxon has planted in her mind about him, and she says "He's saying you were ordered to seduce me. For her purposes." And Warden says "And are you seduced?" What does he mean by this?

He’s trying to get the measure of what Paige feels for him. Asking her to clarify whether she wants them to be friends or lovers. It’s actually a fairly bold move for Warden, as even though he’s using the conversation about Jaxon as a smokescreen – a way for him to ask Paige about her feelings while seeming to ask her only if Jaxon has been successful in his deceit – he is being unusually direct with Paige here.
