Dude it is seriously heartbreaking that Axl Low as a concept is nearly as old as Sol Badguy and Ky Kiske and, as far as I know, they have never made licensed Axl bandannas. If they do another merch poll or survey I'm gonna write that in. It's such an obvious merch choice AND it wouldn't even be expensive to produce!!!

They've made crazy detailed hats for like, may, ramlethal, testament, and A MILLIA "Curiosity Killed the Cat" PIN!! Axl's little netal peace sign pin would be perfect for that!!! Please. All I have is the flight tag with the Strive render on it. You're hurting me, ArcSys. You're hurting one of the 5 remaining Strive Axl players. We're an endangered species this should be some kind of violation.

Real talk tho he has some lines in the older games that are kinda weird-pervy but they're not any worse than anything any of the other characters generally say to each other so I wouldn't even say they're that bad tbh. On the list of like "GG characters that are absolutely going to hell" Axl is pretty firmly in the "he isn't" tier haha

Also fake fan!! /lh Against Sol in Strive if he does his Danny Missles victory animation he says "I brought you some too, chief!" So he does bring some for Sol!!! To my knowledge he doesn't do that for Jackie though so that makes him an irredeemable misogynist anyway. This is so sad... we have to put him down...

in XX asuka blames axl's time-slips on axl himself but it's unclear whether or not that bullshit line will ever be relevant again. maybe he didn't do anything wrong YET but he still might in the future unless daisuke forgor Axl: I know it sounds crazy, but… I seem to randomly slip through time. Yeah I'm familiar with this one. Unfortunately it's non-canon though, as with a handful of the XX arcade mode stuff. The first canon meeting Axl has with That Man/Asuka is in Xrd when I-No brings him to deliver the message from The Original/Happy Chaos. People were speculating that Raven was Future Axl for a while because of this until it ended up being non canon, but it's interesting to think that someone out was like "Well I'm gonna put the Guilty into Axl Low Guilty Gear" like what could they have made him do LOL. Lot of possibilities with the time powers...

If you spend enough time zoning the opponent the absolute last thing they expect from you is a breakneck sprint from another area code into throw. Sometimes you gotta do it to em.

I was wondering what got you into Guilty gear if you are comfortable talking about it

Hey hey! So I actually have been watching Guilty Gear for a long time - I got reccomended some XX vods randomly on Youtube way back when I would throw things on in the background in HS and I watched a couple of em. I distinctly remember watching Johnny fight some Slayer and I was hooked. They're both two favorites of mine to this day based on aesthetic alone - suave heart of gold pirate and vampire dandy? My cup runneth over. Now, I didn't actually like traditional fighting games (thought they were hard and didn't make sense) but I liked watching. So I watched a lot. Never got into the lore or anything like that.

Fast forward many years later and Strive comes out and I go "Hey I know this series!" At the time I was friends with some people who were really good at FGs and decided to give it a go. Started on Ky cause coming from Smash I was a Marth player and figured "Hey anime swordsman, I know this one!" and eventually when I got bored, I scrolled through the character kits and Axl's rensen and command grab seemed funny. I liked his design too. So I gave him a try, then I got curious, started wikidiving...

And cried. I cried so much dude. I spent the next few months explaining the gear lore I learned to anyone who'd listen, rebranded my old tumblr from Fire Emblem to Axl Low (rip the og arashi-no-saxlphone oops) and just started rambling about how I felt about and viewed certain characters and now I'm here. Locked all the way in.

This series' stories and messages have done a lot for me, and every day I hope that one day I can be like Axl Low and break the happy record instead. What a fuckin series dude.

Epic news: apparently Sickle Storm (though has more recovery time) clashes and either wins or trades on other supers MOST of the time, even if it came immediately second

LMAO this game is jokes man what the hell. I actually take 0 issue with the extra recovery time, it's probably because people didn't understand how to punish it (had to block the first hit and then jump and punish the second - this was actually kinda annoy and tricky for some characters) so I'm guessing they just made it so that you can just block the whole thing now. If you blocked the second hit Axl was plus. Unfortunately this probably also means that you're now unsafe if they air block it (previously this would just give you back your turn because the landing lag wouldn't let you fuzzy jump the second hit on landing and therefore left Axl plus because you were forced to block the second hit). Clashing with everything like that is funny I'm not sure if it's necessarily good LOL

My feelings on the GG story are deeply mixed, because on the one hand, having Sin, Dizzy & The Valentines be only a few years old at most is weird & slightly uncomfortable, especially with Dizzy, but on the other hand, I-No & Axl. So who can say.

personally that stuff doesn't bother me because they're all treated as developed to the point that they're on the same level of consciousness and maturity as the rest of the cast, but I do understand. I give Guilty Gear a pass there because it's kind of reversed from the usual weird trope and to be honest I think the only reason they made it like that with Gear biology was to make Ky and Sol have another layer of awkwardness/depth to their relationship. The way it's handled has me hardly notice or remember it so I don't really think about it much.

Idk if I-No has ever been given a canon age but I know in some material collection somewhere they randomly made Axl 26 and then never mentioned it again. Those two are also a weird case since I-No is a Magical Foci and there's speculation that the time powers have rendered both her and Axl ageless. Sol is like, well over 100 lol. I'm willing to bet there's a hard answer on that but I'm too lazy to look it up.

Anyway I personally don't find it worth worrying about when it comes to Gear - the reasons it exists in the world of guilty gear are completely different from the reasons it exists in other media. That's just my take on it.
