Jak grać w Sahkku? Plansza to trzy równoległe linie po 15 pól (sarggis). Może mieć kształt łodzi, jak w klasycznej Daldosie, kwadratu lub prostokąta. Wojowniczki poruszają się jedną stronę np. od dziobu do rufy przez na środkowy rząd i dalej w stronę dziobu łodzi na stronę przeciwnika. Wojownicy w stronę przeciwną. Po środku planszy w zamku oznaczonym znakiem Sahkku X jest król. Pozostaje on neutralny do momentu, kiedy zostanie pochwycony przez gracza, którego figura pierwsza stanie na w zamku. Król może poruszać się jak pion, o liczbę oczek wyrzuconych na kostce, ale we wszystkich kierunkach. Może również zostać przechwycony przez przeciwnika, jeśli jego figura stanie na polu, które aktualnie zajmuje król. Celem gry jest wybicie przeciwnika. Jak wygląda bicie? Wojownik musi stanąć na polu wojowniczki i na odwrót. Wówczas zbita figura opuszcza planszę. Figury poruszają się tylko do przodu, o liczbę wyrzuconą na trzech kościach. Jednak, aby poruszyć figurą, trzeba wpierw ją wybudzić poprzez wyrzucenie Sahkku X. X oznacza wybudzenie, ale ma również wartość 1. Kolejne to II, III i puste pole oznaczające brak ruchu.
