Has fandom ever made you enjoy a pairing you previously hated? I wouldn’t say I hated it, but I wasn’t sold on the Luke/Claire romance in the MCU at first. I’m a big comic nerd and I’ve always loved Luke/Jessica, they’re easily in my top 10 comic OTPs so the MCU not doing that (at least for now) threw me off. I resisted but Claire and Rosario are just so irresistible and her and Luke are cute together. But I’m still hoping for my OTP to come back around!

I also didn’t like Asher/Michaela purely because Asher is…well, he’s Asher lol But he grew up as a character and Michaela tells him off and doesn’t take shit from him, but she’s also vulnerable with him like she hasn’t been with others. I love that! I love that Asher actively tries to change to, maybe not be worthy of her, but certainly to be a better person overall and Michaela is a big part of that change. They’re just, I love them so much now.

Is there anything you used to like but can’t stand now? Mostly, this is the pairings that I’ve liked as brotps that fandom ran rampant and shoved down my throat, so they’re ruined for me in every aspect. Ex: D/estiel (actually, just about every ship in SPN is garbage. If they guys are canonically paired with a woman she’s either killed off or gets a memory wipe and, regardless of either, fandom crucifies them but ships the brothers with actual demons and mass murderers because vagina is bad, I guess?), S/ciles, S/terek, S/tydia, C/aryl, R/ichonne, D0c/Wyn0nna, basically the ships on TO have dissolved into a mess in one form or another. I’m sure there’s others.

Least shippable character? I’m really not sure. This is just so vague. If I had a fandom, maybe I could narrow it down?

🔥 The Originals.

Short version: bittersweet.

Long version: Anyone who knows me knows that I started TO as a clean break from TVD, which I only started for DG and it was unbelievably hard to get through TVD until DG showed up and then get through all the eps until he came back so I was so excited about TO when it was first announced. I finally got to leave TVD and its high school teen crap bs behind and watch a stand-alone spinoff. It would be its own thing, with its own characters (who I actually care about) and grown-up drama, redemption arcs, focus on the werewolves and that mythos, focus on witches as more than tools for friends to pick up whenever it was convenient for them, and flashbacks oh so many flashbacks (the fact that I’ve still been robbed of Elijah in the 70s is a crime, I tell you) of our favorite fucked up family. 

And it was good…at first. Its gotten stale and repetitive, attention to the witches and wolves wavered, redemption arcs became shaky, the canon mythos was constantly ignored/forgotten/rewritten, thinly veiled racism, white feminism bs, rushed LGBT+ representation or saying someone is LGBT+ but never showing just to get brownie/woke points, and characters that I came to love (like Josh, Cami, Vincent and Davina) had become nothing but props and afterthoughts. And now the show is ending and I want nothing to do with it. I’ve become so disappointed by what’s happened to every single character, for varying reasons. I’ve become so sick JP’s hypocrisy and blatant favoritism to particular parts of fandom because she doesn’t write to tell a story or write for these characters, she writes for the fanbase and lets their wants dictate her storytelling process at the expense of quality. I’m mostly disappointed that this show started off as a stand-alone meant so people didn’t have to watch TVD to understand what was going on and its ending as just another crap spinoff, with another potentially crap spinoff on the way, as a blatant ratings grabs for JP’s “last hurrah” ego trip.

So, yeah, bittersweet.

1: are you named after someone? Yes and no. My family is super Catholic so there are naming traditions for the girls. At some point, one girl in the family with always have a two-parter first name and the first part of said name is always the same. I don’t like to share my real name on here so I won’t but, as an example, let’s say my name is Donna Jo, then my mom would be Donna Jean, my grandmother Donna Grace, my great-grandmother Donna Kathleen and so on and so forth. I have to carry on this tradition if and when I have a daughter. I am not happy about it lol 2: when was the last time you cried? Ummmm I’m not sure. Probably when I saw Moana and (spoiler) it was when Gramma Tala died 3: do you like your handwriting? Nope! I hate it! DAMMIT!!!! I love foreign shows but I love being able to understand and follow the plot as well, so that blows. I’ve never seen an Egyptian show though! I mostly watch Spanish or Japanese ones, and some Italian, Japanese and Korean movies every now and then
