Sagefrost, thoughts on Lilypaw, Pigeonpaw, Twistedpaw, Volepaw, Mangledpaw, Foxpaw, Maplepaw, and their mentors? Thoughts on Katsu and who might be a good mentor for her?
Yikes… that’s a lot to remember there youngin’. Good thing brain exercises keep the memory sharp! Why, I remember when Sageleaf - the cat I was named for - … oh wait! That’s not the story.
Well, I think Lilypaw certainly coming into her own. Sulpherthroats a tough cookie and I think that they’re good for each other. Lilypaw is like her mama, she’ll bring brightness behind her, and I think Sulpherthroat could borrow some of that; but Lilypaw needs to learn to hold her own. Not be too trusting.
Pigeonpaw is a good young tom. He’s still eager to learn his place in the world and how it all works. Excited even; but a little shy… Which is why I think Mudsplash is good for him. Mudsplash used to be the same way; and I think the help down the similar path is what’s best for Pigeonpaw.
Twistedpaw is a very eager young molly; reminds me a bit of Lichenthroat…. But Riverwhisker is a good rematch; she might be able to teach her more patience. It would be a shame to have another incident.
Volepaw is very well level in the head. Loyal, kind, still rambunctious… Id say Foggypelts doing a good job! Though if the rumors are true, I think Sandclaw will be helping more with her training.
Mangledpaw is…. Different. I believed once that Dawnheart would make a fine warrior out of Otterpaw…. and I used to think the same of Skunkbelly training them. Now aim not so sure. They resisted using empathy and understanding when it came to their name change. The clan was upset and bothered, more than just Crowstar, but they didn’t care to listen to rhyme or reason. I don’t know what that says fully but it’s not what the kind of thing I expected from a Medicine Cat….
Foxpaw is doing wonderful. She’s flourishing, and proved herself twice over for her age! Dawnheart doing so well with this girl, aim excited to see what kind of warrior she becomes!
Maplepaw seems to have changed a bit. She was more supportive before but I think now she sees herself in Foxpaws shadow; she’s a bit more…. confident yes but sarcastic as well. I hope Slugface knows how to help her from here.
Katsu…. well, the gal don’t speak much to me, but I watch her. I think the reason she’s so hesitant to make a choice is because she’s not exactly feeling welcome. Crowstar isn’t really being warm, and Larkstar made it clear on his feelings - the hypocrite…. but I kind of hope she stays…. she’s a considerate gal. As for who will mentor her… au doubt Crowstar would want to, so I hope he doesn’t. Moonstream awful busy checking in on the kits, and Heronwing doesn’t seem like she’d make a good fit…. Frostpaths so young yet…. Probably Firefoot. He’s a good soul.

Gingerkit > Gingerpaw > Gingerleaf
Kit > Apprentice > Warrior
Tom - RiverClan
Parents: Longfoot, Ivyfall
Sister: Tumblefoot
Mate: Sagefrost
Children: Stronglight, Leafwish, Starlingpelt
Mentor: Mistyleap
Apprentices: Kinkflower, Kestrelfrost
!!Sensitive content including grooming and acknowledged incest!!
As a young apprentice, he and his sister, Tumblepaw were always competitive with each other, and did everything together. Consequently, their mentors Mistyleap and Sagefrost decided to train them together often. Sagefrost would take both Tumblepaw and Gingerpaw out and vice-versa. Gingerpaw lived a wonderful, typical apprentice life, despite the death of his mother when he was younger. Sagefrost, as their mother's sister, filled the void of a maternal relationship.
Until Sagefrost discovered a secret about her family that she didn't like, becoming twitchy, aggressive, and paranoid, and even turning to the Dark Forest, a fact she would later confide in Gingerpaw. This secret- one she never told anyone- manifested itself into a darkness inside her, and, while she maintained the appearance of one of the clan's most well-respected warriors on the outside, her inside deteriorated, as anyone close to her would soon notice.
Gingerpaw was one of the first to notice, questioning his aunt and pseudo-mentor. Sagefrost quickly latched onto his comfort and support, and Gingerpaw began to distance himself from his mentor, Mistyleap, his sister, Tumblepaw, and his father, Ivyfall, as he spent all his time comforting and hanging out with Sagefrost. They often had training secessions together... Training secessions that turned into something much darker. Gingerpaw wasn't sure if he enjoyed those 'secessions' as much as Sagefrost, but to see her happy made him happy, so he continued with them.
When he got his warrior name, Sagefrost asked him to be her mate. In the Clans, incest was inevitable, and as long as the pair weren't parent-and-kit or siblings, then the couple would generally be accepted, although aunts and uncles getting with their nephews and nieces was frowned upon, depending on the clan's current status and how close the family was. Gingerleaf couldn't say no to her, even though he didn't really want to be her mate. The two soon had kits, and Gingerleaf found himself detached from the kits, never truly loving them. Sagefrost seemed to notice this and often pressured him to watch them or comment on how much he loved them or her, growing more and more desperate.
As their relationship went on, the clan began to take notice of their unharmonious and unequal relationship. Tumblefoot in particular was vocal about her disapproval, noting that her brother and Sagefrost had been too 'close' when he was an apprentice. Eventually, through coaxing from Tumblefoot and Ivyfall, Gingerleaf broke up with Sagefrost. It utterly broke Sagefrost, which made Gingerleaf feel immensely guilty and try to make her happy again, but his sister made him stay away from her and not succumb to her toxicity.
When Sagefrost was discovered drowned in the river, Gingerleaf couldn't help but blame himself, feeling truly as though he was responsible. But with support from his family and clanmates, he found himself flourishing, able to live a happier life without Sagefrost. He grew close with his apprentices, Kinkflower and Kestrelfrost, but always kept them at a tail's length away, afraid he'd become like Sagefrost.

The fastest cat ever was a ShellClan cat named Rabbitflight - but that story is long and will have to be typed up another time, sorry Ghost

This serious deputy is named Sagefrost, and he belongs to @aouli1987 and hails from their fanclan, BayClan! He seems cold and grumpy but just struggles with showing emotion and is very loyal to his Clan.

Sagefrost~! Got any fun stories from when you where younger?
Tumblr media
Sagefrost continues to tell you several stories.
He tells you about the Stars and the Fireflies
He spoke about Elmstar, and Buzzardstar, and the day Sun came.
He told you about Threefoot, and how great they had been training together...
But with so many stories, you started to doze off, and they all blurred into one. Maybe one day you'll ask about one of them again.
But for now, he ushers you back to your nest with a chuckle.

Specklekit > Specklepaw > Specklesky <> “Bloodsky”
Kit > Apprentice > Warrior <> Queen
She-cat - SkyClan
Parents: Plumheart, Tuftfrost
Sister: Shortthorn
Half-siblings: Aspentuft, Splashfrost, Longfoot, Sagefrost, Hollowleaf, Iceclaw, Ryesnow
Mate: Sprucebark
Children: Pigeonflash, Sharpshade
Mentors: Thornskip, Aspentuft
Dark Forest Mentor: Goosestar
Apprentice: Brokenflower
Specklekit was born alongside her sister, Shortkit. The two were your typical kits- getting into trouble, listening to elder’s stories, sleeping by each other's sides, waiting for the day they became great warriors. Their older siblings, Aspentuft and Splashfrost played with them every day, and the clan all loved their newest litter. When they were finally apprenticed, Specklepaw to Thornskip, a young but respected warrior, and Shortpaw to Bramblespeck, a good-humored senior warrior, they were over the moon. There was no doubt in their minds they would be the best warriors ever.
But one day, Specklepaw was visited in her sleep but a cat who claimed to know her father. She had never once wondered who her father was- Aspentuft and Splashfrost’s had never been known, and neither had her and Shortpaw’s. But no one had ever really asked. It was always assumed she and her older siblings were fully related by blood, though. She was going to dismiss the strange cat, who was called Goosestar, but she wondered if he was a StarClan cat trying to give her a message, so she didn’t. It would be amazing to be a prophesied cat, after all. Goosestar told her that her mother had lied about her ‘blood’- her kin. She was only the half-sister of her beloved older siblings, and that her father was Tuftfrost of ShadowClan. That Goosestar was her kin through Tuftfrost. Specklepaw was startled, wondering how this could be true- that her mother had been in a half-clan relationship and hadn’t even cared. That she was related to some dead leader.
He offered to train her, to make her strong, to let her stand alongside her true kin. So, seeing nothing wrong with a little training, she accepted. Nearly every night, she started visiting the Dark Forest. She asked more than a few times if her sister could join them, but Goosestar would always reply that she was too soft and weak-minded. As Specklepaw trained under Goosestar and many other cats, she began to question their motives. She was fine with the training, as brutal and bloody as it had become, but she overheard and was occasionally dragged into schemish plots. She even crossed her father’s paths a few times, along with another of her half-siblings, Hollowleaf’s.
It wasn’t until her mentor, Thornskip, was slain by BoneClan rogues that Specklepaw felt the anger rise within in. She was reassigned to her older brother, Aspentuft, who was ecstatic, but Specklepaw could see nothing but the words half-brother, half-blood whenever she looked at him. She could only see the cat that was replacing her mentor. She could only see the BoneClan cats- cats that Goosestar and the Dark Forest wanted her to help, cats she had allowed to hunt in her territory without problem before. Now, she wanted nothing but to hunt them. Going against Goosestar’s orders, she attacked BoneClan warriors when they taunted SkyClanners at their border. Her aggressive behavior was noted by her clanmates, but they could not know the length of it.
Specklepaw would sneak out of camp at night to go and torment BoneClanners, and her first kill was an honest accident, but one she did not regret. She had been covering her scent in whatever she could find so they didn’t know she was a SkyClan cat, one of such was the old scent of fix. One day, she had led them straight to that old fox den- one the rogues had used before to lure foxes to the clancats with. She hadn’t realized a young pair of foxes had taken residence of the den, but when the foxes had sprung out, they had mistaken Specklepaw with her red pelt and fox scent as one of their cubs. They attacked and murdered the BoneClan rogues, and then put Specklepaw in their den. She knew it wasn’t long before the young foxes realized their mistake, so she quickly snuck out. When a few BoneClan cats stumbled upon her, drenched in the blood of their absolutely mauled campmates, they had mistaken her for their killed, screeching and calling her the “Bloodied Sky!” which was eventually shortened to Bloodsky. They called her so for the speckled pattern of her pelt, like clouds in a sky, and of course, she was covered in blood and already had a red pelt.
At first, Specklepaw was shocked, but she quickly took to her new title, her tormenting of the BoneClan cats going much farther- clawing the eye of rogues’ out often, knowing blinding could be a fate worse than death as a rogue. She even attacked their leader, Shadefur, once. She killed a two or three more cats too, all as an apprentice, which made her incredibly proud. In her dreams, Goosestar had, at first, clawed her for attacking the rogues, but, then, as he saw her vicious, blood-lusting ways, he stood back with a smile, encouraging her anger by telling her how Tuftfrost’s mother had associated with BoneClan, and that he himself was half-BoneClan. And then came a time when SkyClan attacked BoneClan, she was eager, but, to her surprise and worry, the rogues recognized her, screaming and calling her Bloodsky, and telling their campmates to run. Not all ran, of course, and the battle continued, but it was far easier. Silverstar, leader of SkyClan, took notice of this, but didn’t ask further on it. Aspentuft, Shortpaw and a few others tried to, but Specklepaw would dodge the question or answer that she must look like an old horror tale of theirs.
She and her sister were made warriors after that, named Specklesky- clearly after her Bloodsky nickname- and Shortpaw became Shortthorn- clearly after Thornskip, Specklesky’s mentor. Specklesky’s mentor! Not Shortthorn. Why was Shortthorn being named after him instead of Specklesky? Sure, because of her training under Goosestar, she had ignored Thornskip a lot, but she had looked up to him! He had still been her mentor. Completely lost to her anger, Specklesky was quick to cover her scent in fox, waiting for Silverstar to leave camp. When she did, Miss Bloodsky swiftly attacked her, making sure she couldn’t see her. She slit her throat and shoved her face into a bush, and ran. Silverstar lost a life. It was a strange death, and no one was sure of the culprit.
No one except Aspentuft. Who had realized what his younger sister was doing. When he confronted her about it, in a fit of panic and rage, she murdered him and threw him into the lake. For a long while, no one found his body, until a storm washed it back up onto the shore. During that time, Specklesky had gotten pregnant with Sprucebark’s kit after a one night stand. The tom was excited over the predicament, unaware of the stress Specklesky was under. He wanted to raise the kits, while Specklesky wanted nothing to do with him. They agreed not to mates, but to raise the kits together. If Specklesky was honest, she thought about killing her kits, Pigeonkit- named by Sprucebark- and Sharpkit- named by Specklesky, multiple times. She had plenty of time to think over her actions and her temper. Whose side was she even on anymore? SkyClan, her family- her blood, the Dark Forest’s? Who would she kill? Would she ever stop being the ferocious Bloodsky?
When her kits became apprentices and Sprucebark was killed by BoneClan rogues, leaving them broken and alone because their mother didn’t really love them, she began to truly see the pain of others around her, not just herself. She hated BoneClan, she knew that. They were the bane of her existence, but she had not made it better with her actions. She tried getting her life back on track, as hard as it was. She began hanging out with her kits more, her sister more, her mother more. She still trained in the Dark Forest, but she was slowly starting to hate their ways and their violent training as it reminded her too much of her Bloodsky days. Goosestar tried to keep her anger and her rage, only ever calling her Bloodsky. But she kept her head high, although she was prone to a few violent outbursts, especially regarding BoneClan, and she got her first and only apprentice, Brokenpaw. The young she-cat was missing a leg, but she never let it stop her, and Specklesky would fight anyone who tried to tell her otherwise.
She eventually met her end in an argument with Goosestar. She tried to kill him, but he managed to take her life instead. When she died, she went to the Dark Forest, not to her surprise. Still, she chose not to remain in the Place of No Stars, walking along the edge of the Dark Forest and StarClan, and sometimes wandering away from both entirely.

Hollowkit > Hollowpaw > Hollowleaf
Kit > Apprentice > Warrior
Tom - ShadowClan
Parents: Softdapple, Tuftfrost
Siblings: Iceclaw, Ryesnow
Half-sisters: Specklesky, Shortthorn, Sagefrost, Longfoot
Mate: Oddcloud
Children: Fallenrock, Spottedcloud
Mentor: Miraclemoon
Apprentice: Webwing
Growing up as the son of a BoneClan rogue who wasn’t completely trusted was hard. Plus, his father was unknown, but a rumor got out that it was Tuftfrost, which the tom never confirmed nor denied, but Hollowkit knew he was his father after he heard his mother telling Miraclemoon so. Hollowkit learned early on that he had to ice himself off to the opinions of others.
He was apprenticed to Miraclemoon, his mother’s best friend. He had never been the chattiest like his mentor, but, despite that, they got along well, being sort of like family in a way. He grew up knowing he was related- by blood or closeness- to plenty of drama, and he was sick of it. A part of him wanted to run away from ShadowClan, from all of the clans, but he stayed there. It was all he knew, after all.
He ended up being visited by the Dark Forest one night. They offered to train him, to let him in on Thistlesong, Sheeptail, Snowmoon, Tuftfrost, any Dark Forest cats’ schemes, his father’s especially. They thought, him being the cold cat he was, he would accept. But Hollowleaf was a coward. He didn’t have the confidence to run away from the clans, he didn’t have the confidence to speak up and change things. Just him, himself, and his silence.
So he ran, and hid, anytime he would be dragged to the Dark Forest. He wouldn’t deny their training, nor would he accept it. Just like his father had for him. There, he learned about many plots, including how his father had kits with she-cats in other clans. There, he found Oddcloud, who had gone through as many family struggles as him, if not more tragic and sad than dramatic and betraying as his.
The two bonded, sharing their woes and their sorrows. It was obvious to the clans that they would become mates. And mates they did become, Oddcloud giving birth to Fallenkit and Spottedkit. They loved their little kits very much, and they were both so proud when they became apprentices. But, not everything could be so sweet and wonderful, as Oddcloud died from infected wounds after a battle with BoneClan. Spottedpaw became Spottedcloud, named after her mother. Hollowleaf was depressed, and swore vengeance against BoneClan. But with the new leaders, Sweetlight and Mossyflight, taking over, there would not be anymore fights against them.
But he and his apprentice, Webpaw, believed BoneClan could never be good, and staged an attack on them to murder at least one of their leaders. But, the attack backfired, killing Hollowleaf and leaving Webpaw to panic and run away from the clans. The only regrets Hollowleaf had was that the only time he wasn’t a coward, he got his apprentice into trouble, and that he wasn’t there to finish his apprentice’s training. But, he was happy to watch with Oddcloud from StarClan as Webpaw continued her training under Fawnleap, Spottedcloud’s mate.

Icekit > Icepaw <> “Icesong” <> Iceclaw <> Jack Frost
Kit > Apprentice > Warrior > Kittypet
Tom - ShadowClan
Parents: Softdapple, Tuftfrost
Siblings: Hollowleaf, Ryesnow
Half-sisters: Specklesky, Shortthorn, Sagefrost, Longfoot
Mate: Daisyspeckle
Children: Podfern, Fireripple, Spikefang
Mentors: Waspfeather, Milkyscar
Apprentice: Tornpaw
Icepaw was a very happy and excited apprentice, who always wanted everyone to feel the same joy as him. He loved birdsongs, and decided he could do the same as them- sing. So he sang and he sang everyday, and his clanmates nicknamed him Icesong, and called him that so much to was practically his warrior name already. His personality bounced well off his peppy mentor, Waspfeather, and he definitely over-shone his much quieter siblings, Hollowpaw and Ryepaw, and even his soft-spoken mother, Softdapple. He never had a relationship with his father, Tuftfrost, so much so that he often forgot he 'was' his father.
His songs ended the day his mentor died. She was out on patrol with his siblings, while he was at camp nursing an injured paw from stepping on a thorn. He was horrified to learn Waspfeather was murdered because she was defending Ryepaw and Hollowpaw after they mistakenly stole a BoneClan rogue's catch, thinking it was abandoned. He thought it unjust, and cruel, and stupid of the rogues, as they had hunted so close to- perhaps even over- the border of ShadowClan's territory. He was appointed to be his friend, Milkyscar's, apprentice, but that did not soothe Icepaw's anger. He disagreed with Hopestar when she decided to settle this peacefully with BoneClan's leader, Darkwhisper- or try to, anyway. A small fight broke out with the BoneClan rogues, and the clan was surprised to see Icepaw ferocity and skill in battle, as he ended up killing one rogue; the only casualty of the battle. After that, Darkwhisper agreed to a time of peace with ShadowClan, to everyone's surprise.
But Icepaw still burned with hatred. He spent his days working, training, and hunting for the clan, never resting. For once, it seemed, his father took an interest in him, but only to bring him to the Dark Forest, to meet Thistlesong, Goosestar, and other cats. But Icepaw spat in their faces, calling them just as evil as BoneClan, and to never, ever contact him again, or he'd tell Hopestar that Tuftfrost and Hollowpaw walked in the Place of No Stars. Hollowpaw convinced Thistlesong and Goosestar not to kill his brother, and Icepaw was let free from the Dark Forest's grasp. Feeling betrayed and untrusting of his brother, Icepaw kept away from him, sticking instead to his mentor, and his mentor's sister, Daisyspeckle, as well as the other apprentices who were appointed after them, Bumblepaw and Puddlepaw. Soon, Icepaw got his true warrior name after his assessment- Iceclaw, for his righteous anger, his dedication to the clan, and his skill in combat.
As Iceclaw, he grew closer to Daisyspeckle, and finally found himself singing his songs again. His clanmates soon picked up on his good mood, teasing him about his crush, and calling him Icesong again. Eventually, he and Daisyspeckle became mates, and she moved into the nursery not too long after expecting his kits. When his kits were born, he never felt more warmth burst inside him, and he'd never sung as many songs as he had that day- no, that week. He and Daisyspeckle named them Podkit, Spikekit, and Firekit- Firekit because it was the opposite of Ice, Podkit because it was plant-like like Daisy, and Spikekit because they both liked that name. Iceclaw spent every moment he could in the nursery, even sleeping in it, much to the complaints of the other queens, with how overcrowded the nursery always seemed to be in ShadowClan. But Iceclaw had the idea of expanding the nursery, and he worked hard to do so.
For his dedication, and his love, Iceclaw was given an apprentice, nervous but loyal Tornpaw. He trained her to believe in herself, to trust her instincts, and that being nervous wasn't a bad thing. He was bursting with excitement when his own kits became apprentices, Podpaw, Spikepaw, and Firepaw. He loved all of them and told them such everyday. His clanmates whispered about him becoming deputy and perhaps leader one day.
But then one day BoneClan attacked ShadowClan's camp. Iceclaw fought with the fury of a thousand cats when he saw them slaughter his beloved mate, Daisyspeckle, effortlessly, as though she was nothing. Tornpaw, despite her fears, and Spikepaw fought bravely beside him, following him when he and some of their clanmates chased BoneClan out of ShadowClan's camp and territory. But they ran to the Twolegs' Greenleaf home, where Twolegs quickly heard the ruckus and left their nests. ShadowClan wavered, but BoneClan had no fear, striking the warriors in their moment of hesitance and fear at the Twolegs. They killed Tornpaw, but Iceclaw managed to save his daughter, Spikepaw. But not without suffering severe wounds to himself. He told his daughter he was proud of her, then told her to run with their clanmates, back to camp, where it was safe. Iceclaw closed his eyes, and let darkness consume him...
Only for him to wake up in a strange world full of Twolegs and sharp smelling scents that friendly kittypets would later tell him was Twoleg medicines, herbs, and creams. He had strange things called stitches in his wounds, and a cone around his neck. He was placed in a cage, with strong silver sticks blocking him in. He was confused, terrified, and homesick... He was expecting StarClan not... this. He expected to see his first mentor, mate, and apprentice again, and all his other family.
Iceclaw was soon adopted by housefolk, who were very nice to him, loved to scratch his ears, and were content to have him sit in their laps rather than play with any toys. When they first let him out of the house, he was excited to see if he could run back to his clan- but the moment he stepped out into the world and stared around, he knew he was far, far from home. He tried, for days, exploring around and asking other cats where he was, but he always returned to his housefolk by night, knowing they would worry and keep him inside longer if he didn't. The kittypets nearby were curious and mostly friendly, and told him the housefolk called him Jack Frost. Iceclaw told them that was not his name, but refused to tell them his real name.
When he finally realized how pointless it was, that not even StarClan could find him here, Iceclaw stayed inside his housefolk's den for months, so depressed that his housefolk actually took him to vets to make sure he was okay. Eventually, he started going back outside, and hesitantly, he told the other kittypets to call him Icesong.
The songs he sung after that were always bittersweet, melancholy, and blue.
