hi, everyone! i go by min ( twenty2, he + she ) and i’m bringing park saeroi to everyone’s doorstep. ♡ ( if you’ve seen the anime nana, you might notice some similarities between osaki nana + ren & saeroi. they’re my primary sources of inspiration, with my additional touch of angst and twist. ) i hope you enjoy saeroi’s character as much as i enjoyed planning him out. i’m excited to write with everyone, so please leave a like on this post if you’re interested in plotting, and i’ll come to you asap!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀about. memories. connections.
starting points.
park saeroi, born on december 25. currently 24. a dance instructor at divine dance studio, and resides in unit #08 on floor 05. remembers a little about the former life.
versatile + talented / stubborn + paranoid.
he’s a little difficult to get along with at first due to the negative traits overlapping the positive, but he is loyal to who he holds close.
the only current memory unlocked is the passion for music, dance and the arts.
the rest of his memories pertain mostly to the sacrifices he made to chase his dreams, and the consequences that came from those choices. he’s unsure how he feels about having to remember them — maybe he doesn’t want to.
he tends to dabble in painting during his free time, but the things he paints are portraits without a face — nowhere to be found but simply, scribbled out. wilted roses with sharp, sharp thorns. or the perception of loneliness.
he has a knack for fashion sense, a lover of mixing and matching. but if there’s one thing that doesn’t get taken off, it is the ring on his finger that is branded by vivienne westwood. and he loves online shopping. so don’t be surprised at the one too many packages that wait in front of his door almost every other week.
plots + connections.
admittedly, i don’t have the brain juice for extensive plot ideas as i’m more chemistry based than anything and am open to almost whatever, but i would love to explore:
friends, neighbors, rivals, enemies.
maybe someone who’s sick of the constant deliveries that get sent to their door instead of saeroi’s?
someone who’s been with him since he got to ansong, but has always struggled with communication so their relationship constantly goes through a bit of a rollercoaster!
party buddies ( he’s a bit of an alcoholic ), stray cats feeding buddies.
while he isn’t fond of the idea of commitment, with no idea why, i’d love for saeroi to take interest in someone just to continue pulling away because of the awkward sensation that this person isn’t right for him. build trust! crack him open!

i've got all this ringing in my ears and none on my fingers @unloveful / illusion
despite his numerous claims that he doesn't like going out, callum is, well — still out fairly often.
but it starts out casual, okay. one beer at the bar is not how tonight pans out. that one beer turns into being poked and prodded into going to illusion for just a few hours (we'll even pay your cover! they say) which in turn becomes a night of being subjected to eardrum numbing bass combined with the smell of gross, sweaty bodies. callum nurses a watery sprite for a long while before the combined friend groups of his and saeroi's' begin to congregate at one table to discuss their next move.
callum is over it, frankly, and being the most sober friend is pretty lame anyway. it's a little before one in the morning and between having to feign socializing and shouting uselessly over the bass for hours, him and his hoarseness have had enough for the night.
his eyes flicker to saeroi, who though callum was almost positive becausehedoesn'tactuallypaythatmuchattentiontosaeroihejusthappenedtobegoodatkeepingmentaltabsonpeople had already had:
two green tea shots
one long island (this one was callum's fault — saeroi said he was going to the bar and there was a level of entrancement callum was under when he saw how much offering to buy him a drink lit him up, so he had to buy him something, okay)
half a bottle of soju
and in true saeroi fashion, the male looks nothing short of sober, at least until you look at him long enough to pick up on his subtle sway.
"i'm gonna get a cab home," callum announces untriumphantly to the group after they begin to mull over ideas about sitting in front of convenience stores and smoking cigarettes while they sobered up. not appealing. he would much rather eat the cost of a forty-thousand won cab ride home than have to stay out any much longer. he plants his feet to the ground and wraps a stabling arm around saeroi's side to stop the swaying. "g'na steal him, too," he gives the blond a teasing pinch at the waist. the group knows they live in the same building and give little to any pushback on sending saeroi home; if anything, by the looks of his glossy complexion and lack of any reasonable logic as to why saeroi should stay out longer, callum makes the executive decision on his behalf. he nudges him at the hip. "you good with that plan?"

leans against my expensive car. it’s me again, your house cat, min — with a second muse, choi kyujin. ♡
as always, leave a like if you’re interested in plotting and i’ll message you soon, either here or on discord, if i have you added already!
profile. memories. connections.
choi kyujin, an e—sports professional and game developer in his past life who’s now an IT specialist at ansong town hall.
the loud neighbor living in unit 03 on floor 02, always either yelling ( at his computer over games ) or blasting music through the walls. there is no in—between, sorry.
used to be an overworking type of guy but isn’t as much of that ever since he got to ansong a year and a half ago. but he does, and will work overtime if needed which often leads to occasions where he gets sick or his health declines rapidly.
very good with computer programming, coding, etc etc. he sometimes uses those skills to make character designs or game mechanics, but because him being a game developer isn’t a core memory he’s unlocked yet ( it’s very down the line ), he’s stuck with seeing it as a crazy time—consuming hobby he can’t get rid of.
from the first memory that came back to him with kyujin being the leader of a team called zgdx in the e—sports industry; he never, ever wants to take the lead role for anything again.
he is, however, a part of saeroi’s social circle so he parties pretty frequently on the nights he isn’t needed to stay behind for work. additionally head—canon’ing that kyujin is the one known to have playboy tendencies amongst the group as commitment isn’t a thing that exists for him. ansong’s heartbreaker? hell yeah…
connections !! surprisingly, i did make a page of wanted plots for kyujin that i think would be fun to have or write out ( lmk if you’d be interested in taking up one of them ), but i’m not limited to those at all and am very open to exploring new dynamics. kyujin’s a lot more flexible than saeroi is esp when it comes down to going around and out since he likes to surround himself with people to not feel lonely.

saeroi isn’t one to celebrate halloween, really. as much as horror isn’t his type of thing, the lengths he would have to go to putting together a costume that’s somewhat unique in its entirety requires more effort than the usual look—his—best style; time that he doesn’t have, and time he doesn’t want to lose. so, out of all the people at the carnival, park saeroi looks most like … park saeroi. not that it matters to him, concentration more—so pinpointed on the things happening around him rather than endlessly wondering what everyone else is dressed up as today, though it is nothing short of entertaining to see.
by the time saeroi decides to step foot into the area of games, he’s already partaken in a majority of the rides ( much against his will ) and scavenged most of the food places ( this — very, very much on his free will ) which, in turn, means he has nothing better to do now. the game with the most attraction is the same one where saeroi finds himself lingering around on the sidelines, arms crossed over his chest while he scrutinizes each of the rounds played. it’s rigged, as always. he doesn’t plan on playing — waving off everyone who’s asked if he was in the queue; knowing well enough that the money in his wallet is better off being used for other things.
though, if there’s something that he’s taken note of so far during his observation of this water—shooting game, it’s the dorothy girl that’s stuck around for a couple cycles with each one landing in a defeat. saeroi recognizes her. the dejection written all over her face by the end of the fifth round against her opponent almost makes him feel sorry for danbi, but enough to cause saeroi to shuffle himself into the line — dumping the cost of one round into the hands of the individual overseeing this particular stand. if any of saeroi’s friends had been with him during this moment, they’d have half the heart to drag saeroi away from playing out of good conscience for anyone that’s put against him because frankly, no—one would be able to beat park saeroi, not even the game itself despite the advantages of its rigged system. it’s too bad nothing can stop him this time.
when saeroi seats himself beside danbi, it’s not without letting his gaze drift onto her at the same time, nodding his head as a small gesture to acknowledge her. “hi. happy halloween. i like your costume.” he compliments, brims tugging into a smile in return to danbi’s own; playing around with the machine in front of him and in his grasp, pre—pressing at the trigger. saeroi looks at the remaining toys lined up on the walls, letting his gaze sit on the stuffed toy in the shape of a rabbit for longer than it does the rest. “not really.” a white lie. “we’ll see how i do. what about you?”
› carnival games (event thread) with @unloveful . . . 🦁
there's a shrill whistle that rings out overhead, sounding in tandem with the continuous flash of bright, multi-colored lights as upbeat carnival music plays as a backdrop to the scene unfolding - the current round of one of the most popular games, the water gun shooting, comes to an end as another campion is crowned and awarded a prize by the attendant. the group that sits beside danbi lets out a series of excited shouts, praising their triumphant friend who had stepped up to the challenge, only to beat the odds and come out victorious. but were the odds really against him? considering his competition was a girl dressed as dorothy from the wizard of oz, it didn't seem that he would have all that much of a challenge.
"congratulations," danbi says with a small smile, still good-natured and friendly despite the embarrassing defeat - which, granted, wouldn't have been so humiliating had this not been her fifth attempt at winning one of the stuffed animals hanging on the board behind the game. lions, tigers, and bears - oh my! there were plenty of prizes to choose from, but danbi had her heart set on a medium-sized, caramel-colored bunny with floppy ears, hanging by it's lonesome after seeing all it's friends be taken home. she felt a twinge of sadness in her heart about it, and decided she would give it a good home, thinking it would be a great addition to her collection.
the group who had occupied the last two rounds set off in search of something more challenging, and danbi hands over some more money to the bored-looking attendant, glancing over her shoulder and wondering if she'd have better luck with the ring toss as opposed to the shooting games. it wouldn't hurt to try one more round though, especially since she can't just leave on an uneven amount of tries, and readies herself just as someone slips into the stool beside her. she tilts her head, chocolate orbs wide and curious about who would have taken up a seat right next to her, only to recognize a familiar face.
"hey! happy halloween," she greets saeori with a warm smile - she doesn't know him all too well, but the two of them have exchanged enough small talk and pleasantries in the elevator and in passing at the apartment building that she feels comfortable enough to strike up a conversation. the attendant calls out for more patrons to join their game, and danbi adjusts herself in her seat, hands ready on the handles. "is there a particular prize you have your eye on?"

i·dol·a·try (noun) the worship of idols
Voting is open for the first annual Idolatry Awards! Check out some of our nominees below and be sure to click on the source link to vote for all of your favorites! You can vote daily until the form closes at 8PM PST on July 7th!
Chloe Kwon (@chloekwon) The Nation's Older Sister got her start on JYP Entertainment's surivival show SIXTEEN, narrowly missing out on a spot in TWICE. A solo career some deemed a consolation prize at the start has flourished thanks to Chloe's songwriting abilities and creative ambitions. She has recently opened her own label, Lovely Records, to keep creative control of her career.
August Moon (@august-m) Initially debuting under the infamous C9 Entertainment, August Moon quickly became Angelico Entertainment's best-selling male soloist after his contract was acquired. Dubbed a "new soul" by his fans for his endearing enthusiasm, his honeyed voice and emotionally poignant music showcases a much deeper side of the beloved idol.
ROSARIO (@rcsvric) After she escaped the Cloud Entertainment dungeon, ROSARIO redebuted to follow her dream of being a soloist. She came out swinging with her first full album just this April, full of songs she had had to leave in her hard drive to rot. Now, she's with an agency who actually cares about her wants & needs, and she's ready to dominate charts for herself.
Natalia (@lcvedior) If you don’t know Miss Natalia Hwang - commonly dubbed as Korea’s it girl - she’s a flamboyant solo artist and model under Zephyr Entertainment. Most known for her glamorous aura and extremely charismatic stage presence, Natalia is a certified fashion icon and a world renowned socialite. Her music is a reflection of her character, giving us club bops and a provocative sound.
Persona (@whoispersona) Persona made her solo debut in 2016 with the mini album feel so fine. Although she’s had her fair share of bullying scandals and saesang run-ins, she still continues to pump out music that spans bubble gum pop to ballads. She puts her heart into everything she makes and it shows through well she promotes and preforms each song.
Minsu (@millionxnine) Minsu started his career as a producer for famous boy groups like ATEEZ and TREASURE, as well as appearing as an actor in several music videos. He has since worked hard to make a name for himself as a soloist and looks to push boundaries & change trends.
Bliss (@saerois) Bliss Eun has never not been famous. She made her debut as a runway model at only 10 years old and debuted as an idol at 16 in a duo with her sibling Saint. Her scandalous solo discography continues to keep her in the headlines and on top of the chart.

[TRANS] WayV’s interview with ELLE Korea May 2020 issue!
— Kun
A suffering leader, everyone's Kun — With a meticulous personality. The pros and cons would be: I think I am the leader thanks to my sense of responsibility and delicacy. [But] when there is too much to take care of, it is a bit cumbersome. There’s no member who gives me a hard time because they all pick on me one by one (laughs). If I had to introduce my hometown, Fujian Province, it's a quiet city with clean air and few people. Many people come to visit because the mountains and the lakes are beautiful. When I think about nature, I start missing my hometown. At school, I was the head of the student council's entertainment department. I might look like a serious person since the members are so active and mischievous, but I'm also a fun person. Times when I feel like we’re one team are when you know what the others are thinking just by the look in their eyes and, when we dance and the movements are 'synchronised'. WayV to me is the comfort of being able to share everything with each other. All the members worry a lot about music so a lot of ideas come out every time we hear new music. It is certainly an advantage that all seven have a lot of desire. I have a bright young voice, but my desire as a vocalist is to have a thicker and more mature voice these days. Wouldn't it suit dance songs that match our [team's] style more than ballads. I graduated in Practical Music. If there is a song I want to arrange: I'm still trying to look for my style while listening to various songs. I want to challenge not only the arrangement but also the composition. I am a good cook. The dishes I recently made for the members are the dishes that I learned from the main chef of the company while I practiced them [on the members]. The menu with the biggest reaction recently was DongPo Pork. When I can't sleep, I deliberately watch low-rated movies and these days, I watch a four-hour-long landscape video shot from a train driver's perspective. It makes me fall asleep really fast (laughs). The most memorable stage after debuting was as expected, MAMA 2019. When I was giving the award speech, my hand that was holding the microphone was shaking and it was all captured [on camera]. What I want to say to myself in hard times is to be confident! The moment you lose your confidence, everything becomes more difficult. The mindset I don't want to lose is to be grateful. Everything I do right now is impossible to do by myself. This is the most important. To Winwin: who has known me the longest among the members! I hope you always take on challenges with courage because I will always be there beside you to support you. Also, all the members know that you are cute.
— Lucas
Healthy energy, hot Lucas — Between a boy and a man, I feel closer to 100% boy! I don't think I feel mature enough. [Maybe I’m just like] a baby who wants to be a man (laughs). The most impressive man to me is a responsible person. And also, a man who gives everything to his loved ones. Having an attractive rapping sound because of a low and husky voice. My desire to sing is big! I want to sing a sad song. I've heard from people around me that a calm song suits my voice. Like the calm songs of Paul Kim I normally listen to too. My favorite song is "Take Off, The killing point is the dance break, with the powerful guitar riff. Emotion is what is the most important on stage. I believe each song has its own soul, and it is important to immerse yourself. My role in the team is positive energy. Although always looking bright, surprisingly, I have a lot of thoughts. Yesterday too, I had a lot of thoughts before going to bed, so it took me a while to fall asleep. Not long ago, Kun hyung played me a song he had composed and so many ideas came up so I wrote them down and sent it to him. WayV to me is a friendship that feels really deep even though it’s been only a year since I made a debut with the people I love so much. So much that when we come back from a schedule, as we laugh and talk together, the stress will suddenly be gone. The most important thing in a team is to have sincere conversations with each other to understand each other's differences. Only then can we get along well because of the wider understanding. Having appeared in a number of familiar variety shows like the Chinese version of <Running Man> <Let's Run Season 3> I like that I can go to various places the most. It's also a special opportunity to meet people with other jobs and not only artists. I think I'm often called/casted [for these shows] because of my sincere youthful reactions. The mindset I don't want to lose is the promise I made when I debuted to be a good influence on people. That's what I always keep in mind. I want to be a person who always gives positive influence to people, family, and fans around me. To Yangyang: who I know is really smart, you're still a cute little brother to me (laughs)
— Winwin A quiet presence, Winwin — In the reality show <Dream Plan>, mingling well with the elders in the village was impressive. Special trick behind it was thanking them for looking out for me! Since they were all kind natured, I guess treating them with sincerity looked good. When Lucas and I visited their home, we got served a meal and received a warm welcome. A performance video of Ten and I has been released. As a dancer, Ten is a member whose strength is being versatile. He helps the members at dance practices a lot. I’ve learned dancing in a special dance school. At the time I was the shortest and least talkative kid until I grew taller in high school. I’ve spent most of the time practicing alone. Chinese dance is similar to modern dance mixed with ballet. Learning the choreography is fast and it’s an advantage to be skillful in tumbling. I would like to properly showcase a modern dance at a concert someday. When I’m on the stage what I care about the most is my gestures and facial expression. During ‘Take Off’ promotions, the gestures and facial expressions I did during my part varied from stage to stage. I hear that I’m ‘pure’ a lot. A new charm that I want to have: our fans call me ‘Baby Chick’. I want to showcase more of an ‘eagle’ image, so I cut my hair short. Isn’t it similar to Park Saeroy (laugh). Something that makes me angry, although I normally have a good temper is being unsatisfied with stage performance to the point I can’t sleep on that day. But it’s okay to just take a nap. I just need to do better. The most memorable moment in WayV promotions was receiving the Best New Asian Artist Award at the MAMAs, it was the first time we’ve gotten an award together so I was very happy. The reason why I went to Beijing on my own as a middle school student seems to be fate. I passed my exams without much determination, left my hometown and went to school in Beijing where I was noticed and then debuted. Coincidence became fate. To me WayV is a path that we’re talking together, a team with a lot of growth potential. I’d like it if the younger members came to me whenever they need someone. I feel our fans love and support the most when: I’m always amazed and grateful for our fans hearts. All of the people who always look out for us even when we’re not promoting any albums and who support us are an immense source of strength. Success to me is when more people get to know us and we get to perform in many different countries. I want to think about my personal success after my team’s success. To Kun: when members want advice, we reach out to Kun first before our families. He knows a lot, can do a lot, and is a person we can depend on.
— Ten
Ten who is curious about what's next rather than what’s now — The secret to adapting well everywhere is attending an international school. I had friends of various nationalities and I also traveled a lot. Wherever I went, I went to see the common [places] first. Learning an unfamiliar culture is fun. I’m learning Thai, English, Korean, Japanese and now working hard at learning Chinese. I memorize expressions that I can use while watching Chinese variety shows and dramas. Although it's still difficult to read the buzzwords and hanja. The most important thing as a performer, and what makes you an outstanding dancer, is to have your own style while not being trapped by masculinity and femininity. I am different now from a few years ago and I'm trying to challenge myself by being flexible in various aspects. What I've learned since debut is, in the case of WayV, that when you work with various genres the main concern is the vocal style and with SuperM, I learned about the importance of performance through the activities [we did]. 'It's important to dance well, but you must also have your own [style]', 'think about what you want to express in front of the camera, but you must be faithful to your feelings on every stage in order to develop [yourself]' is the advice I received from the Hyungs (Baekhyun, Kai, Taemin). For the dance video that I did together with Winwin, the concept, music, settings, and outfits were all decided by us together without the company's advice. I came to realize the difficulties of being a staff member (laughs). I can [now] see the wider picture and more details. I like poetry too. I think poetry expresses emotions. It helps me understand the world and the society as a person and not as an artist. The lyrics of my 2nd solo song 'New Heroes' feel like an autobiography. If 'Dream in a Dream' was all about the performance then 'New Heroes' is a song about the time spent committing [to something] and I thought anyone can sympathize with that. The [original] lyrics were so great that I asked them not to change it and to just go with it. I want to write lyrics myself someday. The kind of person I want to be is [someone who] always tries to go with the flow as I think that making plans and setting expectations can make it more difficult on yourself. I hope I could be a person who can leave a good impact on others. WayV to me is just like a family who always does everything together and takes care of each other asking ‘have you already eaten?’. Everyone has an open mind to try and accept new challenges. During the 'Moonwalk' promotion period, I was kinda surprised how well we got along. Having received recognition for my skills since debut. The times when the expectations are high are: Art and languages too are ever-evolving disciplines, so it's not easy to keep up. Nevertheless, there are self-expectations and anticipations to show a new side of myself. I will work hard (laughs). I still play Pokemon Go and I'm waiting for the June update. I will catch a lot of new Pokemon again! To Xiaojun: with whom I saw Harry Potter together yesterday! Let's make an appearance in Harry Potter when there is a reboot.
— Hendery
Flexible midfielder, Hendery — Something I’ve gotten into recently is practicing playing drums. Kun hyung is cooking a lot lately so I’ve been reviewing the food too. The other day he made kimchi jjigae so good that it even got an approval from manager hyung. My favourite track is ‘Take Off’. We filmed the music video in Ukraine and spent loads of happy times together, so I feel happier whenever I listen to it. Something I’ve improved on since debut is that recording songs takes less time. When I hear a member of staff say ‘Is this really Hendery’s voice?’ I feel proud of myself. The charm of my vocal is: I’m still looking for it, but I feel like my rap sounds nice when I spice it up with a little melody. Good at giving advice to our members. A tip to giving good advice is: it’s important to have helping and not making decisions in mind. Talk about both bad and good points about the A and B. The secret to always looking like I’m at peace is my parents always telling me ‘Your happiness is the most important. You always have a home to come back to, so work as much as you can enjoy’, thanks to them I grew up as someone with little stress or worries. Mindset that I don’t want to lose is the excitement before going on stage. I think the most important thing for an artist is their greed for performing. When I get on stage the most important is interacting with fans. The most memorable stage was our Korean debut on <Show! Champion>. I couldn’t believe we’re performing Chinese songs in Korea. I was so overwhelmed to see our fans welcoming us so enthusiastically even though they didn’t understand what we were saying. I opened an instagram account recently. My posting plan is ‘This is where I am‘ ‘I am filming today’. I want to showcase my daily self. I hope our fans can smile for a brief moment when they see the pics I had the most fun taking. To me WayV is: I feel empty when I go away to see my family for a little. Every time that happens I facetime them to relieve the sadness. Lucas is the member who picks up the most (laugh). To Lucas: No matter how busy we get, even if we become grandpas, I’ll always be by your side. It’s something I want to say to all of the members, but Lucas is a friend I'm especially attached to so I really wanted to say this.
— Yangyang
Infinite potential, bold maknae Yangyang — I speak Chinese, German, English Korean and Spanish. Great language skills are useful when you travel. Whenever I talk with friends of various nationalities, I think it's fortunate that I can speak many languages. In our team alone, it's full [with people who speak] Chinese, Thai, English, and Korean (laughs). My role in the team is being the happy virus! Although of course, the hyungs think I'm a maknae that requires a lot of energy from them. WayV to me is a high tension team that can deliver strong and positive energy. If someone shows a slight sign of exhaustion, we immediately stick together and somehow infect each other with energy. I think that such energy is conveyed to fans on stage. If I have learned anything from living together with the members [it would be] the habit I have developed to control my greed and to care for others. I'm used to looking at the other's feelings now before doing something. My favorite song is ‘King of Hearts’, because I participated in writing the lyrics. I also love 'Love Talk' from the 2nd mini album. It is a charming song that is sweet and sexy but has a way to make your body move. My ambition as a rapper is the flow. Because I think this is the aspect that determines the impression of a song from the listener's point of view. I want to be a multi-talented person who is good at not only rapping but also dancing, singing, and writing lyrics. I've always had a lot of ambition. The attractive part of writing lyrics is that I can tell my story, since from a long time ago, I wrote lyrics little by little and it's always fun work. I want to steadily keep doing it. I like Virgil Ablo and Demna Gvasalia, and the fashion icon who caught my eye these days is Mike Amirie. I am drawn to people who have a simple yet clear style. The same goes for musicians. I like people who have a clear style like Travis Scott and A$AP Rocky. I’ve said 'I like who I am' before. Instances when I am especially like myself is when I'm confident. When I have confidence and want to show off, I can show much more than my actual skills. I use SNS to check on NBA and fashion news. I see the news on sneakers I'm looking forward to fast. Surprisingly, I don't look up anything about me [but] when a stage or performance is over I do look up the reactions. Most of them are good, so every time I read, I get energized. To Hendery: hyung, you seem to really get into gaming, but don't try too hard (laughs).
— Xiaojun
Warm voice, Xiaojun — Something I’m into these days is practicing the songs that will be included in the next album that we are preparing for. Before debuting, I only sang my favorite ballad song, but nowadays, I want to sing songs of other genres such as R&B. I've been uploading videos of me singing on my personal Instagram. My favorite song is ‘Face to Face’. My heart warms up every time I hear it. I really like the lyrics ‘You won’t be lonely because I’ll be your strength, I won’t let you cope with your wounds alone in silence’. The keywords that describe me are kind. Friendly. Positive. I often say ‘I wish my songs were healing different people’. The way I heal myself is: my heart calms down when I look at pictures with many memories sealed in them. I take a lot of pictures of the scenery and especially when I look at the pictures of my hometown in Guangdong I feel healed. The reason behind my strong sensitivity is the big influence of my dad who’s a singer and my older brother. Ever since I was little we would often watch movies together. I graduated with a musical major. My greed for musicals is: I’ll surely do it again later. I like starring in musicals but one day I’d like to make my own. A musical piece I’d like to recommend is <Dear Evan Hansen> who won at Tony Awards and Grammys. It’s a warm story about a lonely high school boy suffering from social anxiety disorder, who is working on his trauma and healing from the pain. My way of dealing with stress is quiet time on my own. Just like positive energy, negative energy is easily spread to others, so I’d rather be alone. A memory I really want to make is a trip, I promised to go on before debuting, with the members. The destination is still undecided. The kind of team member I want to be is a silent supporter. It would be nice if I can be 'my people/dearest' to others. Something I want to do this year is to have an event for the fans. I like to surprise friends or throw surprise birthday parties. I think fans will love it if we would do a guerilla performance. I told you here so I have to throw [that idea] away and I will prepare something else (laughs). To Ten: You are one of the 'Hyung-line', and you Korean is the best so there are many times you have to lead us. Don't carry everything on your own and sometimes lean on us! The same goes for Kun hyung.
t/n: Due to the structure of this interview there might be inaccuracies as many things only made sense in Korean but sounded kinda awkward in English (more so compared to other translations we did). We tried our best to convey what they meant, but please keep this in mind when reading this interview.

Series Reviews (2020)
4. Itaewon Class
Follow your heart and be yourself. A life without regrets regardless of consequences. Everything is all about timing. When you get the timing right, all is well.
This drama has taught me so much. Right now, I am in a state where just like Yi-Seo, I don't know what I want and wondering if life is really worth living.
It is truly great to feel acknowledge by someone. Saeroyi kept that in mind and always do it to his employees. He is a true leader by being with them and helping each other. I didn't know Park Seo Joon can have this inspiring aside from being handsome and funny in romantic comedy dramas. He can also be a role model and inspiring actor. It's nice to know that there are dramas like this who want to inspire everyone to believe in the power of their dreams and desire. The only bad thing (for me) about this is that some desire was ignite with revenge. It's not a healthy way of living to be honest.
Being fueled by anger and wanting to take revenge is not healthy to someone but by Saeroyi's case, that ignition of avenging his father's death made him stronger in a good way. He wanted to make his father's dream come true as well but also want to people who make his life miserable pay for what they've done.
Itaewon Class is truly an amazing drama to watch. It will surely give you lessons in life that you eventually want to do.
They also have interesting set of cast. All have different stories to tell and I think their stories also make it more inspiring to watch.
I want to talk about Chairman Jang first. His power and manipulation really irritates me at first. He said he build Jangga Co. for his family but I guess he did not. He build it for himself. For his pride and status. He lived his early years being poor and having to be at other people mercy so when he got the chance to have power, he easily grabbed it and never let go.
He's just like everybody else. Afraid to be powerless. Also, even though he want to look like a manipulator who doesn't have a heart, he still want warmth. He's human anyway.
To the actor who portray Chairman Jang, I knew him in another drama, I was shocked when I first saw him because his role in the other drama which he started in was way different from his role here.
If you watched Strong Woman Do Bong Soon and remembered his father. Here he is now. He's not a walnut and a battered husband anymore. He's the Chairman and a cunning strong tiger.
I wanted to get angry with him but I can still see the father of Do Bong Soon. He was a great father there and even though this was a different role, I still see him as a softie. I get irritated by him.
After Chairman Jang, let's move on to his sons. The Jang Brothers.
First off, the legitimate one. Jang Geun-won. The black sheep heir. The trouble maker and good for nothing son. He's the reason why the whole revenge thing happen. It's all because of him. And if not because of him, there wouldn't be any story. So, even though he's a pain, he is also the main reason we have this drama. Let's give him that credit.
Jang Geun-won also has this habit of being undeniable stupid for some reason in this drama. He cant stand up for himself and always hide in his father's back. But behind all of that, he is just a son who clearly doesn't know what to do with his life. Ever since he was young, he was entitled to be the next chairman of their company. Everything was easy for him so when shit occurs, he doesn't know what to do.
He was like a lost child. I feel sorry for him. And all those years, all he wants was Oh Soo-ah to notice him even for a bit. Even if he was the next chairman and all the attention was on him, the attention from a specific he needed the most was not given to him. So, he acted crazy.
Why do we have to accept the love we think we deserve and not the love given to us? Or simply, why do we like someone who doesn't like us back? Poor Jang Geun-won. You'll get your happy ending. But first, be good.
After the elder one, next is the baby brother. Baby half brother. Jang Geun-soo. Yi-Seo's pushover but turned cunning and irritating antagonist.
He was cute really. Until he wanted to take over Jangga Co. Okay, he wanted Yi-Seo but all the things he did just to make her like him. That is not the way to make a girl fall in love dude! How can you make her yours if you're destroying her?
He's smart, I'll give him that but he's also stupid for doing such things.
How can someone be trustworthy end up betraying you?
Jang Geun-soo wanted to be loved just like his brother and just like him, he acted crazy. I feel sad for this father and sons.
Okay, so up next is Oh Soo-ah. The competent and beautiful Oh Soo-ah. The 15-year love of Saeroyi.
She is competent. But her values in life is want irritates me. She doesn't want to end up like Mr. Park (dad of Saeroyi) so she studied hard and eventually because successful by entering the company who destroyed the life of someone she cherish.
At first it was a slick move. Maybe she has something in her sleeves. Maybe she'll get revenge. But no. In the end, she was used to be torture Saeroyi.
She was manipulated because all she wanted was a relax life. She was an orphan. She wanted to live a life where she can never feel being sympathize again.
Also being confident about Saeroyi's feelings for her was a little annoying. She knew about his feelings but always took it for granted and when she had the chance to say hers, it was too late.
Soo-ah just wanted to stop her life of misery. She just wants to be happy but now, the only person who she want to be happy with no longer feel the way he felt before.
Timing is everything.
This review is getting longer than I thought and I still want to include all the members here. My mind is in fire right now. I think this is the longest review I've done. I dont think anyone would read this shit post. Hahahaha! It's so long! But, hey. It's my blog anyway.
Soooooo!
Let's move on to the main cast!
Itaewon Class or IC Co is the company name of DanBam. DanBam is a pub located at Itaewon. A place in Korea where you can see the world. Different nationalities are gathered in Itaewon.
I should be saying this to the beginning but anyway! DanBam consist of 5 employees turned into shareholders. 4 of them are now shareholders and of course, the fifth member is Saeroyi himself. He's the CEO.
Let's talk about Toni. The foreign looking dude who happened to end up working to DanBam while looking for his korean father. I was surprised to see an african guy in a korean drama not that I don't expected but it was surprising and he was so fluent in hangul. I was in awe.
I can say Toni was the type of guy with compassion and sensitivity. For a foreign looking guy to claim hes korean was brave of him. No one can tell you who and what you are. You are the one who thinks of yourself. You know yourself better than others.
Wow. I should tell that to myself.
Next is Seung-Woo, the hard headed, oldie, classic style Seung-kwon.
He is literally hard headed because at some scene, he was hit by a bottle of bear but I guess it didn't hurt him. He looks old and his moves are waaaay funny but what I like about him is that even though he was from a bad past, he left that all behind him and started a new life with Saeroyi. He was also inspired by what he said and wanted to live just like him. He devoted his life for him. Having someone loyal like him will make you at ease all the time. Even if he sometimes annoy you.
He can be really annoying but when you need him to cheer you up, he'll be there.
Ma Hyun-Yi. You all know her right? Do you also know Seon Ok from Weightlifting Fairy Kim Book Joo? Yup. It is her. The mighty Seon Ok. She changed her career from weightlifting to cooking. Hahahaha! Just kidding.
I knew Seon Ok will be a very promising actress after WFKBJ. I was also waiting for this break for her.
She portray a very special role. Stating that you should not be afraid to be who you are. You don't also need to explain yourself to others or get their approval.
Just like what Saeroyi's principles, follow your heart and be yourself.
Hyun-yi became true to herself and end up being happy and successful by the way.
After that, we now got the most powerful woman in Itaewon. The one who made a small pub became big. Featured in one of the businesswomen in Forbes Magazine. The one and only, Jo Yi-Seo.
Who would have the thought? The crazy party girl would be a most competent businesswomen in Korea at the age of 24? Yup. I think it can happen in real life
Anyways, Yi-Seo. She's like someone I want to be. Full of confidence. Smart and slightly cunning and determined. At the first part of the drama, I can see myself to her. Literally. The words she said and how she felt about living.
And the everything changed. When she met him.
I don't want to think that I really need to meet a certain someone to be really determined in life but...maybe...maybe I needed that. But how? I don't want to go out of my room. Hahahaha.
Anyway, Yi-seo was on the verge of giving up then he met Saeroyi. Her life changed as she wanted to help him. Not going to college and working at the age of 20 was like the greatest decision she made (and she never regret it).
Again. Timing is everything.
Yi-seo was right on time when Saeroyi needed someone the most.
She love him with all her heart and willing to help him even if he likes somebody else. If its not love then I don't know anymore. And I felt sad to know that she want to be competent for Saeroyi to need him. She badly needed to become someone he needed so she can stay with him. She don't want to leave him.
They say that behind every man success is a competent and understandable woman. And that is Yi-seo. She's the woman in Saeroyi's success. And if her feelings still don't reach him, she will do everything she can to reach him.
You see, Itaewon Class is not an ordinary korean drama. Some of you might liked Crash Landing on You. I recommend you watch this drama too. You'll never regret.
