Hajime no Ippo: What if
(What if Makunouchi Ippo never got into boxing?)
I think we wouldn’t have a manga. Good night.
(Of course that’s the obvious, but how would the world be different around Ippo)
-For the sake of this, Takamura helping Ippo that one time didn’t stick with Ippo like it did that inspired him to become a boxer, simply leaving when he got the chance.
- he would have been bullied till high school. He would have endured it and then after graduating took over the family business full time. Maybe his high school teacher told him to go to university. With Ippo being how he is, it’s basically a given.
-Umezawa would not have become a mangaka and continued as a delinquent not inspired by Ippo’s change to pursue his dream.
-Miyata would have never left the Kamogawa gym, since he would have had no reason to leave. He might not be as driven as in canon, but he’d still have Genji’s guidance as well, so I imagine Miyata would still be as good a boxer by the time the Rookie king tournament came around.
-Takamura is still Takamura, he would still be his usual self and still be a champion. That’s just how Takamura was built. (You could argue he might have lost to Bryan hawk but u doubt it. Ippo only really gave moral support)
-Aoki and Kimura may have not improved as much without seeing Ippo’s success. But that’s debatable. I think their boxing performances would be the same.
-Now let’s talk about how different the Rookie king tournament would have been.
-I imagine in place of Ippo it would have been Yūsuke Oda that had his spot. But Oda would have lost to Jason.
-Jason and Kenta would have had an interesting match, but I think Kenta would have won that. As unlike with Ippo, wouldn’t have been driven to turn it into a punching match.
-The real fight would have been Kenta vs Ryūichi. As Ryūichi was one of the favored to win the tournament, like Mashiba and Miyata. Kenta did beat Ryūichi in their jr. Lightweight title match, but Ryūichi didn’t suffer from Glass jaw back then. I think in this match, Ryūichi would be the winner. Thus having him be in the finals.
-now in the manga, Miyata lost to Mashiba because he pulled a dirty move allowing him to win because Miyata was so dominant (training to beat Ippo). I think without Ippo as the motivator, Miyata would not be as Dominant as he was at the start. I think the fight would be more back and forth.
-With Mashiba still winning because I think he would still pull a dirty move. But Miyata now wants payback against him.
-Now that leaves Ryūichi vs Mashiba. And I think Mashiba takes it, no tricks. Probably humiliates Ryūichi in the process. Making Mashiba the East Rookie king.
-Sendō is still the west Rookie king and thus he gets to fight Mashiba.
-Sendo likely looked up the videos around Mashiba and got pissed, seeing as the dirty move he pulled on that one boxer (probably getting Sawamura vibes) and decides he will teach this guy a lesson.
-Sendō being the dominant force he is, crushes Mashiba. Becoming the All Rookie king.
-now Sendō not having Ippo as his strong opponent to “stick to” left him more hungry.
-Miyata, not having a reason to accelerate his progress, decides to focus on winning matches. And his target becomes Date.
-Miyata likely would have been the one fighting the opponents and one or two more, likely to get to just below Ippo’s rank.
-I picture him getting to the Class A tournament, where Sendo would be. Sendo basically being on a rampage looking for his strong opponent.
-And people still afraid of Date, might not have wanted to compete.
-I think Sendo probably would be Ippo’s rank thus the line up would have Sendo fighting Saeki in the tournament. The speed star would lose. But it would have been a decent fight.
-Miyata would have taken the spot of the boxer that fought Volg in the class A tournament. Now the question is, would Miyata have beaten Volg?
-The answer. I think at this time, Volg would have lost Barely. Because Volg wasn’t fighting in his true style. It is likely the hardest Miyata had been pushed up to that point.
-Sendo would be fighting Miyata. And That would be the true fight. Sendo would remember how the guy got cheated in his rookie king tournament. And would assure him he won’t be holding back.
-Miyata would be the perfect counter to Sendo. And without that loss to Ippo, Sendo would have lost.
-Allowing for the Date vs Miyata fight.
-Date would have won, but that’s just cause the skill level of Date was beyond Miyata’s. I’d put it on the level of Date vs Ippo, but with two less rounds. Miyata wasn’t ready for Date.
-Date would probably leave to the world after that, not feeling that there was anything left in Japan.
-Sendo vs Volg would occur and I think with the shift of fate, Volg would win. As Sendo wouldn’t have been at his level without the loss from Ippo earlier on motivating him. So even the judge couldn’t give it to Sendo. Thus Volg would be the Featherweight champ. And that money would be sent to his mother. Likely saving her life.

Okita Souji and his subordinates
Workplace relationships are important.
Bosses and subordinates, in particular, can have stressful relationships if things don't work out. I think this was no different in the past than it is in today.
What kind of subordinates did Okita Souji, the Captain of the First Squad, work with?
Here's a summary.
Around the Twelfth Month of Bunkyu 3
Okita Souji: Born Tenpo 13
Sasaki Aijiro (佐々木愛次郎): Born Kouka 2. One of the "Five beautiful men of the Shinsengumi". He was killed by Saeki when he eloped with a woman in August of that year, but his name remained on the roster until December.
Shinozuka Minezo (篠塚峯蔵): Birth year unknown. After participating in the Ikedaya Incident, he was requested by the lord of Miyazu, his former domain, to return home, and left the Shinsengumi amicably.
Mishina Ichiro (三品一郎): Born Tenpo 12. Also known as Mishina Chuji (三品仲司). He participated in Ikedaya. After the Meiji Restoration, he belonged to the Shizuoka domain (Numazu Kinban, 沼津勤番) and worked with his younger brother Jiro to establish the prestige of Kondo and Hijikata.
The number of subordinates is small because the Shinsengumi had only been formed for a short time, but they are quite good members who didn't cause problems later on. Shinozuka Minezo is unknown, but the others are close in age so they probably communicated easily.
Among them, Sasaki Aijiro was so skilled that he demonstrated jiujitsu moves in front of Matsudaira Katamori, and he was also one of the "Five Beautiful Men of the Shinsengumi".
However, it's said that he was killed four months before this list was compiled.
In the "Shinsengumi Shimatsuki," there is an episode in which Sasaki, who was about to have his girlfriend taken as a mistress by Serizawa, was tricked by Saeki Matasaburo and others into deserting his unit, and was then slain.
In this story told by Yagi Tamesaburo, after the incident, Okita said, "It was all Serizawa's plan (あれはすべて芹沢の指図だった)".
I wondered how Okita knew that, but I guess he was trying to find out the cause because Sasaki was his own subordinate.
However, if Sasaki was enrolled at the time of this roster, that episode might be fictional.
Yet it seems to be true that Sasaki disappeared from the Shinsengumi after that, and that Okita Souji was talking about something that happened to Sasaki's life.
Around the Twelfth Month of Genji 1
Okita Souji: Born Tenpo 13
Aridoshi Kango (蟻通勘吾): Born Tenpo 10. Participated in the Ikedaya Incident and other incidents. Severely wounded in Aizu and hospitalized at Hakodate Hospital. Died in battle on Mt. Hakodate
Yamano Yasohachi (山野八十八): Birth year unknown. One of the "Five beautiful men of the Shinsengumi". He was Hijikata's retainer in Hakodate. After the surrender, he seems to have been engaged in salt manufacturing in the Shizuoka domain. After that, he returned to Kyoto and worked at an elementary school until 1896.
Tsukamoto Zennosuke (塚本善之助): Birth year unknown. Joined the Shinsengumi after the Ikedaya Incident, but apparently left by the following year.
Muro Takunosuke (室宅之助): Birth year unknown. Joined by the 11th month of Genji 1. It appears that he left the Shinsengumi after the Shogun announced his resignation.
Oishi Kuwajiro (大石鍬次郎): Born Tenpo 9. Sword style: Onoha Itto-ryu and Tennen Rishin-ryu. Son of a vassal of the Hitotsubashi family and student of Kondo. Known as Manslayer Kuwajiro, he killed Itou Kashitaro. After his defeat in Koshu, he went into hiding in Edo, but was arrested by Kano and others and executed for Itou's murder.
They are members who joined after the Ikedaya Incident.
Oishi Kuwajiro, also of the Tennen Rishin-ryu, has joined the group.
Other strong men assigned to the group include Aridoshi Kango and Yamano Yasohachi, who fought all the way to Hakodate.
Did Tsukamoto Zennosuke join the Shinsengumi because of the Ikedaya Incident's fame? Although he admired the Shinsengumi, he probably quit because he couldn't stand the harshness of reality. This is still common today.
Muro Takunosuke remained in the Shinsengumi for three years after this, so it doesn't seem that he didn't fit in with the Shinsengumi. Seeing that he left the Shinsengumi after the Shogun announced his resignation, it's possible that he later leaned toward an ideology of overthrowing the shogunate.
Nevertheless, overall, no one was seen to have conflicting purposes, and the addition of Oishi Kuwajiro must have made things easier for Okita.
Around the Fifth Month of Keio 1
Okita Souji: Born Tenpo 13
Kiyohara Kiyoshi (清原清): Born Tenpo 3. He became a part of the  Goryo-eji. After serving in the Goryo-eji, he was attached to the Satsuma clan and worked with Kano in Itabashi to uncover Kondo's true identity. Killed in battle at Shirakawa. Changed his name to Takekawa Naoe (竹川直枝 or 武川直江).
Tani Mantaro (谷万太郎): Born Tenpo 6. He opened a dojo in Osaka with Tani Sanjuro. Harada Sanosuke, Shimada Kai, and Abe Juro are his spear-fighting pupils. He joined the Shinsengumi one step earlier than his brother, but upon his brother's death, he left the Shinsengumi and devoted himself to running the dojo in Osaka.
Wada Juro (和田重郎): Birth year unknown. Joined the Shinsengumi by the 11th month of Genji 1. Killed in the Battle of Toba-Fushimi.
Wado Teizo (輪堂貞三): Birth year unknown. Formerly an investigator for the Aizu Domain. In Keio 1, he was committed to protecting Yano Harumichi (矢野玄道), a scholar of Japanese studies. After escaping, he became a teacher in his hometown of the Saijo domain of the Iyo province (some say that he was released from his assignment from the Aizu Domain) After the Meiji Restoration, changed his name to Ohashi Eikin (大橋英金).
Miyakawa Kazuma (宮川数馬): Birth year unknown. Joined the Shinsengumi by the 11th month of Genji 1. Killed in battle at Yodo Senryo.
Abe Shinjiro (阿部信次郎): Born Tenpo 8. The same person as Abe Juro. Deserted after Serizawa's death. Reinstated once, but left the force in Keio 3 with the Goryo-eji. Plotted revenge for the Abura-no-Koji Incident and shot Kondo. After that, he attached himself to the Satsuma Clan and joined the Sekihotai. Later ran an orchard in Hokkaido.
Kimura Kota (木村広太): Born Kouka 3. Enlisted at Edo in the 4th month of Keio 1. Believed to have left the Shinsengumi by Keio 3.
Fujiwara Wasaburo (藤原和三郎): Born Tenpo 1. Escaped after the defeat in Koshu. Became a merchant in Edo, but was imprisoned in conjunction with other members of the Shinsengumi
Sakuma Nobuto (佐久間登人): Born Kaei 1. Enlisted at Edo in the 4th month of Keio 1. Believed to have left the Shinsengumi by Keio 2.
Miyagawa Nobukichi (宮川信吉): Born Tenpo 14. Tennen Rishin-ryu. Cousin of Kondo Isami. Protected Miura Kyutaro (三浦休太郎) in the Tenmanya Incident and died in battle.
By this time, the Shinsengumi had grown in size, and the number of members had increased considerably. Almost half of the subordinates were new recruits, and training must have been difficult.
Although the number of friends among the Shinsengumi members increased with Miyagawa Nobukichi, a Tennen Rishin-ryu practitioner, there were also those who were inclined towards overthrowing the shogunate, such as Kiyohara Kiyoshi and Abe Juro.
Kiyohara was a problem employee who "advocated righteousness" (義を唱え) in the unit and was hated by his colleagues, so he deserted the following year. He may have been a vocal advocate of the overthrow of the shogunate. He later joined the Goryo-eji.
Abe Juro, as detailed, is an anti-Kondo faction member. He was older than Okita and had some skill, so he was a difficult subordinate for Okita to deal with.
To add to that, Abe Juro deserted from the unit once, so Okita probably didn't trust him very much. It's likely that Abe's many bad comments about Okita in the Meiji era were also due to something that happened at that time.
It's said that 70% of stress in the workplace is caused by the relationship between superiors and subordinates.
Abe must have been stressed, but his boss, Okita, must have been even more stressed.
We don't know how long this group lasted, but considering that Okita became ill in the 2nd month of Keio 3, is it too much to think that this kind of stress may have been a contributing factor?

Dragon Dancer IV: Time Zero
I stroked Lu Mingfei’s hair, staring at the stump of his left arm where Chu Zihang had cleanly severed it with Spider Fang.
I could see why he had to do it. The severed limb had been unceremoniously tossed away, where it landed against the exit door, leaving a long bloody smear. I watched as the Sage Stone bullet rapidly corroded all the skin from the bone then shriveled the tendons until the hand appeared to be a mummified claw.
That could have been Mingfei’s entire body.
I lifted his legs on a seat cushion to keep what little blood he had left in his body flowing to his vital organs and sat silently.
After the initial frantic horror of seeing him shot, with his agonized screaming filling my ears, and the relief as the Soul Skill ‘Don’t Die’ held him back once again from an early grave, there was simply a confused nothingness. There was no emotion to fill the void of shock and grief and terror.
Only the physical sensations of the rumble of the plane and the soft texture of his hair, moistened by cold sweat and blood.
The cockpit door opened.
Chu Zihang stood tall, his cold golden eyed gaze taking in the scene in front of him. “How is he?”
“He’s alive.” I said.
“Can you hand me his phone?”
I fished the phone with the AI Fingel from his pocket. A piece of paper fell out next to it.
“Is that the phone number Crow gave us?” He asked.
“Yeah.”
“Give it to me.”
I got up from the floor and walked over and handed it to him.
“That pilot was an assassin from the Gattuso family. I think its safe to say that they’ve penetrated every layer of Hydra at this point. Including the Crane Group.”
“Are you going to keep the number then?”
“It’s a South Korean number. It must be Chisei.”
I nodded. “Right. Gattusos wouldn’t have gotten to him.”
—————————————-
“Crow said Shinnosuke used Time Zero.”
I blinked at him. “Yeah.”
“There’s only three people I know of who can use that skill. Anjou, my father, and … whoever killed those Hydra commissioners in the painting hall of Genji Heavy Industries.”
My eyes widened slightly. I’d forgotten about that.
Over a year ago, Chu Zihang and I were assigned to investigate the Lenin – a ship carrying the embryo of a dragon. Little did we know, we would end up pursued by the Japan Branch we were sent to assist. In our effort to escape, we tried to disable Kaguya. We found that Hydra was trying to remove records from the Genji Heavy Industries building. Disguised as workers, we descended an elevator to a hall that was full of murals depicting the history of the White King Descendants.
Just a few minutes before we arrived, a murderer had killed at least a dozen people and stolen a huge part of the series of the paintings. Johann had concluded that it was someone with the skill Time Zero.
At that time, we only knew of Anjou who had used Time Zero. But Anjou would not have slaughtered all those people. Their blood was spattered and sprayed everywhere, the wounds seemed tailored for that effect.
“The person who attacked Anjou… also used Time Zero.” I said.
Johann nodded slowly. “Before you arrived at Cassell, they made an effort to remove him from office. At first they tried to use financial misdeeds to paint him as a bad manager. When that failed, they framed me as a dangerous person. Were it not for the support of my friends… I would have been convicted, institutionalized, or worse. But I wasn’t really their goal. They wanted me as proof of Anjou’s failure to operate the college correctly.”
I expression changed to a glare. “The Gattusos want Kassell.”
“The Gattusos want the skeletons.”
“Why?” I asked.
“That’s what I aim to find out. But first, we have to get off this plane.” He walked back to the cockpit. “There’s not enough fuel in this plane to get us anywhere. The pilot had a parachute ready to go…”
I sighed and returned to Ru’Yi’s seat. She must have been hungry by now, but she was quiet, staring out of the side window, looking at the clouds. “What do you see out there baby?”
I unstrapped her from the seat and settled her against me, sliding the strap of my bra down and letting her nurse. Her eyes sparkled with a bright intelligence, like there was a joke she told herself. I smiled at her. “What?”
Chu Zihang was talking in the cockpit to someone on the phone.
Ru’Yi turned her head to look, milk dribbling down her face. “Do you hear Daddy?” I asked her.
She turned back to me and continued feeding. My eyes began to drift shut. I hadn’t really slept for 24 hours. I’d been fighting for my life for many of those hours. I fell asleep.
“Meixiu.”
I lifted my head. Chu Zihang was standing next to me. “It’s time to go. I have coordinates for you.”
“Oh…”
“You’re tired. I’m sorry but…there’s no time.”
I looked around. Ru’Yi was back in her carrier and I was covered in a blanket. “How long was I out?”
Zihang didn’t answer. He moved to Mingfei and picked him up as well as the backpack he’d been carrying all this time. “Once the fuel is gone, the plane will rapidly descend. I waited as long as I could.”
He handed me the Fingel Phone. “Study this picture. That’s our destination.”
The image on he screen was of a red, black and white temple, surrounded by the peaks of high grassy mountains against a bright blue sky.
“Is this a recent picture?”
“Yes, taken a few minutes ago.”
“Okay…” I studied the picture and closed my eyes imagining myself there. In an instant, I was there, I could feel the sun but the air was thin, breezy and cool.
“I’ve got the coordinates. Ready to go.”
I gathered Ru’Yi’s carrier into my arms putting in her favorite toys. Chu Zihang took Spider Fang and Tongzi with him “I won’t be able to carry anything else with me…”
“It’s okay. We’ll have things there.”
“Hold tight to me. And to Mingfei. Don’t let go. Even if you think you are holding tight, hold tighter. You won’t be able to feel your grip in the Void.”
“Ready?” I looked up at him.
Zihang took a deep breath. “Go.”
I closed my eyes and focused my mind on that image, this time with intent and purpose. When the sun and the air appeared in my mental vision again, I stepped forward. Darkness descended over me with an oppressive cold. There was no air, not sound, no feeling.
On the count of three, we arrived. The grass was under our feet. I quickly turned to Zihang. He was there, holding the unconscious Mingfei. I smiled at him. “We made it!”
Zihang was looking ahead.
I followed his gaze. Ahead of us was the temple. Red, white and black with the Asian style roof with the curled up edges.
A long stair case descended from the entrance. In front of the staircase stood a young woman in a saffron robe. Her hair and eyes were deep red and her skin was white as snow.
“Erii Uesugi!”
Her gaze shifted to the body of Mingfei Lu. She beckoned to us to follow her. As we walked, I saw we were watched by several people in plain clothes, likely agents, but perhaps not Hydra.
Erii paused, her hand reaching up to examine his Mingfei’s pale face a moment. She quickly turned away and kept walking.
The temple had an infirmary. It wasn’t a state of the art hospital, but he had the basic monitoring equipment as well as IV drips available. She pointed to a nurse and signed rapidly.
The nurse bowed and pointed to the bed.
Zihang lowered Mingfei to the bed and she quickly got him hooked up to the machines and started him on fluids.
Erii tapped the nurse on the shoulder and then used sign language, which the nurse interpreted.
“What happened to him?” she asked.
“Someone shot him. The wound got infected and had to be removed.”
Erii tilted her head a moment but then nodded. She signed. The nurse glanced at her. “Thank you for bringing him here. Who gave you my number?”
“Saeki Ryuji. There’s more to this story, but we should speak privately.”
Erii nodded again.
She then walked away and pulled out her phone rapidly texting for several moments.
Zihang and I exchanged glances.
She then realized we weren’t sure what she was doing.
She signed to the nurse for a while and the nurse said, “She will arrange food and lodging for you. What’s the baby’s name?”
“Ru’Yi.”
“That is a lovely name.” Erii signed.
“Thank you.”
We were escorted by monks in saffron robes to a sleeping area, separate from the temple.  The room we were going to stay in was small and unadorned. The beds were simple woven mats laid out on the floor with a blanket and pillow. “Where are we?”
“Tibet.” Chu Zihang replied. “A monastery.”
“I see.” Fatigue was weighing on me and I ached for sleep. “I need to lay down.”
“Take all the time you need.” He turned away to a small table and chairs against the wall and sat down.
“What are you going to do?”
He unzipped the small bag he’d carried over his shoulder. “Work.”

See How Dempsey Roll is Recreated in Hajime no Ippo Stage Play
Before its opening at Shinagawa Prince Hotel Stellar Ball in Tokyo on January 31, a final dress rehearsal for "Real Fighting 'Hajime no Ippo' The Glorious Stage!!," the first stage play adaptation of George Morikawa's long-running boxing manga Hajime no Ippo, was revealed to Japanese net news media.
Then their video reports to introduce the play's main cast in costume and their iconic boxing moves, including the protagonist Ippo Makunouchi's Dempsey Roll, have been posted on YouTube. 21-year-old Kyoji Goto, who is cast as Ippo, has experience of shoot boxing, a combat sport created by former kickboxer Caesar Takeshi.
As the manga's 30th anniversary project, the stage play will be performed from January 31 to February 9, 2020. 44-year-old Kohei Kiyasu, who voiced the protagonist Ippo Makunouchi in the anime series from 2000 to 2014, is attached to write and direct.

Which voltage routes have you played??
Okay are you ready for this list (bear in mind I’ve been playing voltage since around 2012 haha). Understanding
(Kafka on The Shore)
Tumblr media
For such a long complex unusual reading, there must be a matching review trying to neutralize it to our normal routine prospective.
Simply it is a magnificent piece of Artwork.
To summarize it I would quote a dear friend of mine “ Asking the right questions“. In this masterpiece you will experience the realm of spirit first hand ( you will become a spirit). You are no longer anchored to the world you call reality, you have no solid ground to help you find balance and direction, instead you are floating in a different dimension with different rules.
I have to admit that I believe ( or wanted to believe ) that Haruki Murakami is not such a genius to innovate such unprecedented concepts, but rather it was build upon values and mythology of unfamiliar culture, and I was right; Murakami himself explains it by mentioning (The Tale of Genji) which is the source he adopted his basic concept from. So we need to know more about Japanese culture and believes to properly assess this work.
Simply the concept is (spirits can transfer between bodies or leave them to fulfill their needs/wishes and affect the materialist world).
From here I’ll take two different paths to explain the journey of reading this Masterpiece.
1- The first (in my opinion the most obvious yet least important ) is the explanation of different unrealistic, strange ( apparently incoherent ) fantasies in the story; e.g. talking to cats, forest of spirits, johnnie walker .. etc.
But the man said it many many times in his own work, it is metaphors ! symbolic meanings. Never heard of Sur-realism ! never liked a painting by Salvador Dali or Rene Magritte ?! never saw any modern art work ?! cubism ?! picaso’s famous works ?! maybe never liked them .. in this case .. calm down.. you still can make rational explanation for the weird strange incidences you have read.
I’m not interested in giving the full interpretation but lets put some examples:
- Q: Kafka killed his father ?
A: yes sure, his spirit took the body of Nakata to kill johnnie walker ; his father who had enough of producing art and wanted to be killed by his son and be liberated .
- Q: KFC colonel sanders ?
A: yes it is the spirit of Nakata while sleeping guiding Hoshino.
- Q: Miss Saeki 15 years old girl ?
A: she opened the gate once and was trapped as body in our world but her spirit in another looking for her lover.
- Q: Kafka loving the girl ?
A: yes it is kafka body but spirit of the young lover looking for his sweetheart.
- Q: Sardines and leeches from the sky ?
A: a half shadowed Nakata was trapped between the two worlds and sometimes they open connection between them. He always wanted to complete his shadow and be in one world.
Enough with such nonsense, lets focus on what matters.
2- In this novel you will experience the spirit and body as we really experience them (not as we think we experience them).we don’t have a clear cut for where we are earthy and when we are spiritual creature. When we dream or even day dream are we our bodies or our spirits ?! when we met someone and feel a connection, is it our body or sometimes our spirit ? when we do what we do, are we always ourselves or we are sometimes possessed by different spirit ?! we find ourselves sometimes too good as if we are possessed by an angelic spirit, some other times we find the evil possessing and filling our hollow inside.
So can we really accept that we might have spirits that is not limited by our bodies, or that we have bodies that sometimes get possessed by stranger spirits?!
3- One of Murakami’s strengths was the diversity of issues and characters he introduced and in a very very talented magical way in keeping the storyline coherent.
We can see many of our dilemmas such as Love, desire, escaping our reality, accepting our fate, fighting for another life, helping others, fulfilling our purpose in life. Many conceptual issues that we come across and most probably ask ourselves in one point or antoher. And we will find those issues in the story of different characters; the young rebel boy, the old idiot man, the troubled educated lady, the driver with no purpose, the hemophilic young undetermined gender Oshima!
I feel I said enough for now .. but for sure how one reflect on this book will not end here, and there will always be more coming out of it, and more to be said. But as Murakami said ( what is not understood without explanation will not be understood with explanation).

Supplemental Notes on Shinsengumi Organization
On February the Kouyou Chibuntai was formed by the Bakufu with only 20 or so members. I’m really interested in the Kouyou Chibuntai but the only info I see is on Serizawa Kamo’s website. If you or anyone like you know more about the Kouyou Chibuntai aside from what’s on SK-sensei’s site please let me know.
The last two sections on Regimental Soldier which mentions “omission” is still being worked at. However this is quite an interesting structure if you compare it to what we know in fandom. Okita head of the small Artillery? I found Ogata Shuntarou’s footprint very interesting and of course Saitou wasn’t the 3rd Captain early on. Ne? Someone asked me whether Andou was appointed as a first Captain, I couldn’t answer so I looked up the organization, I doubt Andou was a first Captain, however he was certainly a “Fukuchou Jokin” which most of the Captains had as a concurrent title. ^__^
This was taken from “Shinsengumi Thoroughness Guide” which used various source such as “Shinsengumi Otona na Jiten”, “Shinsengumi Taishiden”, “Shinsengumi Nisshi”, Shinsengumi Reader and “Shinsengumi Taishi” and History Reader issue “Ten Shinsengumi Leaders”. Hmmm yeah so I cheat.. But do you really think I could read all those on my own. Heh… As usual my disclaimers apply and feel free to use for whatever purposes as long as you don’t get you nor I in deep kimchi.

The official website for "Real Fighting 'Hajime no Ippo' The Glorious Stage!!," the first stage play adaptation of George Morikawa's long-running boxing manga Hajime no Ippo, has posted a key visual and a 30-second CM to introduce its main cast, including 21-year-old Kyoji Goto as the protagonist Ippo Makunouchi. The actor has experience of shoot boxing, a combat sport created by former kickboxer Caesar Takeshi in 1985, which allows kicks, punches, knees, elbows, throws, and standing submissions.
As the manga's 30th anniversary project, the stage play is set to be performed at Shinagawa Prince Hotel Stellar Ball in Tokyo from January 31 to February 9, 2020. 44-year-old Kohei Kiyasu, who voiced the protagonist Ippo Makunouchi in the anime series from 2000 to 2014, is attached to write and direct. And 53-year-old Wataru Takagi, the voice of Masaru Aoki in the anime, plays Genji Kamokawa, the owner of the Kamogawa gym that Ippo belongs to.
General sales of the 8,000 yen tickets will begin on December 22, 2019.
