IN ANOTHER LIFE | CHO SANG-WOO (PLAYER 218) AU
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
pairing: sang-woo x reader au
featuring: sae-byeok, gi-hun, ali warnings: wholesome fluff, hardly any plot, protective!sang-woo, established relationship, pda, teasing, small flashback to sexual encounter, alcohol consumption, marriage, sub/dom if you squint, the happy ending the og characters deserved. 1.7k
the bar was heaving. sang-woo pressed his palm to the small of your back, coaxing you along as he guided you into the crowd in search of your friends. he angled his shoulder outwards, unafraid of driving it into anyone careless enough to get in his way. all he could think about was your little body in a sea of drunk, sloppy men standing much taller than you, and all he wanted was to get you to safety.
sang-woo's shoulder caught a stranger in the back. he spun around, face red and contorted, the liquid in his glass sloshing onto his own shirt.
"watch it!" he slurred, caring his head to square up to sang-woo, but even if he matched him in height, he would lose by size.
sang-woo said nothing, he didn't need to. the coldness in his eyes said everything for him. the one look and the drunk man stepped back, hands lifted in an offering of peace. sang-woo accepted it, but not without taking a last look and scoffing.
"sang-woo," you warned as he moved you along. he knew you were worried, but there were matters more pressing than one drunk man.
"are you still watching your drink?" he asked, and you glanced down at the glass held only by your fingertips, palm sealing the top from bad intentions. "good girl," he praised when you nodded your head, looking up at him like he was all that existed.
his fingers spread wider across the small of your back, and you didn't miss the way his fingers grazed the round of your ass.
you glanced away from sang-woo at the distant call of your name.
in the corner, gi-hun stood up from his seat at a booth, waving you over with a sway of his arm. "over here!" he said, before sinking back into his chair.
sang-woo re-centred his hand on your back immediately. he kept it there until you arrived at the table where your friends hollered out sounds of jovial greetings, and only took his hand off when you sat down. he followed you into the booth, his thigh falling against yours. the expensive material of his suit trousers cold against your bare skin.
sae-byeok squealed your name and pulled you into an embrace. "i've missed you!" she beamed, rocking you sideways in her arms. she pulled back and looked you up and down, savouring your presence with a content sigh, but her gaze landed over your shoulder. the smile was gone, replaced by a scowl as she lifted a finger to point at your husband. "you," she accused. "honeymoon's are supposed to last two weeks," she said, narrowing her eyes as she rested a hand against your knee. "you kept us apart for a month!"
sang-woo raised his hands defensively. "don't blame me!" he said, tossing his over toward you. "she's the one who wanted to see europe."
"me?" you gasped, hand flying up to your chest. "i wanted to see paris. you're the one who insisted we visit milan, london, berlin..." you listed, only trailing off to gasp again as he rolled his eyes playfully. you poke a finger into the wall of his chest and all too quickly, you pause.
sang-woo slowly lowered his gaze to your hand on his chest. the tick of his jaw, the slow drag of his eyes back up to yours. they were dark, dirty, and the stretch of his lips into a sly smirk helped remind you of the last time you tried to stand up to him.
the telephone of your hotel suite in amsterdam informed you of a noise complaint, siting concerningly loud crying.
sang-woo held the phone out for you to listen as the receptionist asked "is everything okay?" and the tilt of his head encouraged you to put her mind at ease. "yes, everything is hnngh–" you cried as sang-woo slowly pulled back his hips, only to drive them against yours in one swift motion. "everything's fine!" you said quickly, shoving your face into the mattress as another blow of sang-woo's hips landed against yours.
sang-woo lifted the phone to his own ear and said, "thanks for your concern," before hanging up and setting it carelessly back onto the receiver. he turned back to you, arms dropping back down to cage you to the mattress.
you watched as the memory replayed in his mind, the stretch of his smirk giving him away. the heat creeped back into your cheeks. you couldn't even look at him, his gaze was too intense, too provoking for you. under the table, his hand slowly settled onto your thigh, slowly running closer to the hem of your dress.
"i feel like we're interpting something," said ali, hiding behind his bottle of beer. he peeked from behind it, as if frightened to be correct.
you pressed your palm against sang-woo's chest and shoved him back, and while he didn't even budge, he did release you from his gaze and turned to the rest of the table. you shakily reached out for your cocktail, grateful for the ice cubes for chilling the glass, and took a flustered sip. you needed to cool down.
sae-byeok caught your eye as you took a quick glance around the table. she gave you a sly, knowing smirk. "i see why the honeymoon doubled," she said quiet enough for just you to catch, leaning it closer to teasingly nudge your shoulder with hers.
"oh, stop it," you nudged her back.
she giggled and lifted her own cocktail up to tap against yours. "cheers to europe," she said, "hot, sexy europe."
meanwhile, sang-woo hooked an arm over ali, defusing the tension by redirecting the conversation to him "ali," he said. "don't tell me you and mrs. abdul weren't the same after your honeymoon."
"mrs. abdul doesn't like it when i talk about the happenings of our honeymoon."
sang-woo raised his eyebrows and asked, "were you that bad?"
ali scowled. sang-woo chuckled and affectionately pulled him in closer to ruffle his hair, careful not to overdo it.
"hey!" ali protested, swatting sang-oo's hands and breaking out of his hold. "don't get any ideas," he warned playfully, lifting up his wedding band and tapping it. "i'm not available."
"but i am," gi-hun said before taking a swig from his bottle, shooting a suggestive wink at sang-woo, who kicked him under the table. "ow!" gi-hun cried, flinching as sang-woo reached across the table to swipe at him.
sae-byeok shot out to grab her cocktail, narrowly retrieving it from the table in time for gi-hun's bottle to topple over and spilled over his lap. sae-byeok sighed and rolled her eyes, turning back to you.
"why did we even invite them?" she asked, leaning into your side. she ran her hands down your wrists and caught your left hand, lifting it up to her face. she gazed at your wedding ring. "it's very beautiful," she breathed out in amazement, tilting your hand under the bar lights. she gasped as it sparkled. she beamed excitedly, "so shiny!"
"don't take your eyes off it," gi-hun warned, bumping his elbow into sae-byeok's. "or it'll be gone by the end of the night."
sae-byeok dropped your hand and swatted his shoulder, but sang-woo reached out and caught it before it could fall to your lap. he lifted your hand up and examined the ring he placed on your finger only a month ago. he smiled fondly, lifting the ring to his lips to press a chaste kiss against it. you shuddered as his breath fanned over your knuckles.
he leaned closer, lips brushing against the shell of your ear. "you're so beautiful when you're smiling," he murmured, pressing a final kiss to your cheek before returning you to sae-byeok, who rolled her eyes one last time at gi-hun.
"that was one time," she said. "i robbed you one time."
"still one time more than anyone else at the table," gi-hun pressed further, but the glimmer of affection in his glazed eyes was enough to diffuse any argument. he grinned once more before turning to the boys.
you reached out for sae-byeok's arm and she lit up immediately, understanding exactly what you were asking for. she offered you a sip of her cocktail, and you did the same. you both leaned back, smacking your glossed lips, evaluating the taste.
"six," she decided, pointing at your drink. "a little too sweet."
you scoffed. "you would say that," you teased, feigning offence, before settling against her shoulder and falling into conversation.
the hours rolled by as you shared stories of your trip, discussed her little brother starting high school, and most excitingly, her new romance with a pretty girl called ji-yeong. she swiped through an album of images from dates at cafes, walks through the city, movie night on sae-byeok's sofa. the whole time you listened, all you could focus on was the grin that consumed every one of her features. the creases by her eyes, the stretch of her cheeks.
she was finally happy.
"i wanted to ask if i could bring her over," she asked sheepishly. "to the next family dinner."
at the end of every week, you and sang-woo's mother prepared dinner in the home you shared with your new husband. everyone was invited. sae-byeok and her little brother, ali and his family, and of course, gi-hun.
you blinked at sae-byeok. the dinner table was never too small for another chair, and sang-woo always made sure there were enough wine glasses in the cupboard for a small army.
"sae-byeok," you said softly, resting your hand against her arm. "that would be wonderful, i can't wait to meet her."
she broke into a grin and immediately burst with excitement. "don't worry about dessert, she makes really great bingsu!"
she listed all the other desserts that ji-yeong has made her, and you let her ramble for as long as she did, just grateful to see such joy finally consume her. from the other side of the table, the boys seemed to be as equally engrossed in conversation, all leant over their beer bottles in calm discussion of what must've been anything other than sports. that always riled up sang-woo. but he was placid, a look of content while nodding along to gi-hun's murmurings.
sang-woo glanced over and caught you watching. he smiled, eyes flooding with a warmth that only you were privy to. he settled his hand on your lap, interlacing his fingers with yours silently, giving you one last squeeze before returning to his conversation, just as you did yours.
you took one last look around the table, and your heart swelled in your chest. everyone was smiling.
as beautiful as europe had been, it felt good to finally be back with your friends, with your husband, but most importantly, where you belonged.
in another life, maybe they really would have family dinners every week. please like, comment, reblog. love <3

Buying Sex Toys with Sae-Byeok ♡ (smut!)
Tumblr media
GIRL READER! x Sae-Byeok (067)
Summary: You're going to a sex shop with Sae-Byeok and trying to find a strap that will suit you both. But with every glance at a new toy, her eyes become fixated on it, imagining how the events would play out, if this is what you brought home with you
i put my whole pussy into this i hope u enjoy<3
The endless rows of boxes of various sizes and colours sit below glass cases, displaying the product inside. The discreet packages aren’t designed to give everything away too soon. One must have the courage to be seen with the box in their hands, and to gently lift the flap, like the cover of a book, and look at the product inside the see-through plastic window. Much like books, it’s hard to lift the cover and not begin imagining the story that could unfold.
The privacy screens on the glass cases restrict the view of anyone not looking directly at it. To avoid confusion, Sae-Byeok walks directly behind you the entire time, with her hand on your shoulder, guiding you down the narrow, overstimulating, hallway that displays, what must be, every form of sex toy that has ever existed.
The two of you make your way down slowly, starting at the displays closest to the entrance of the store. Though not many people are inside, the uneasy feeling of being watched from people walking around the mall on the outside prompts you to try and follow the corridor down faster. Sae-Byeok on the other hand, doesn’t care, and doesn’t allow it.
“In a rush? Think you’re too good for the basics?”, she asks, and not as quietly as you’d like. She’s not looking at you, but the glass in front of the both of you. You look ahead at the dildos standing inside. They’re what one would imagine as a strap for lesbians. They’re flesh coloured, not majorly detailed, simple. Maybe something that a couple like you and Sae-Byeok should buy, to get started with. You’re ready to upgrade from mouths and hands, but not ready for anything crazy.
You look at the middle-sized dildo in the window. The vision of your girlfriend wearing this is a pleasant thought. It matches her skin, and it doesn’t look like it would be painful for you. You look up and over your shoulder at your girlfriend, whose focused gaze isn’t broken when you look at her. What could she be thinking?
She slowly slides the thick cock in your mouth. Your hands tremble, but stay exactly where instructed, on either side of her hips. She thrusts forward and back in a painstakingly slow and unpredictable rhythm, moaning and revelling in the way that your eyebrows turn more and more inwards with every move. With a particularly deep thrust, a shiver rushes up your back and makes you straighten, the little gasp you make vibrating through the fake cock that fills your mouth. Your hands gently protest, pushing her away instinctively as she hits the back of your throat. She does not like this.
She moves your hands from her hips to her ass. With one hand firmly planted on each cheek, pushing her away becomes impossible, the only move possible for you being to pull her even closer, and the cock even deeper. Exactly how she wants it. When you look up at her, she’s already looking down at you, sucking in her teeth at the view of the girth of her new dick filling your mouth and making its imprints on your cheeks. Suck in harder, she tells you. You obey without hesitation, sucking harder and getting an instant reaction from her, as though she can feel you. You hadn’t practiced breathing through your nose yet, and the faster that Sae-Byeok pushed her strap in you, the harder it was becoming to not choke. As though by magic, she reads your mind and slows down, pulling herself out of you, then back in, but slower. She runs her fingers through your hair. The affectionate act prompts you to let out a satisfied hum, grateful that she’s taking such good care of you. The feeling of her hand in your hair makes your thighs tingle, however, the warm feeling in your chest drops lower down your body when the big hand on your head gets tangled in your hair, and pulls you closer towards her crotch. The move wasn’t as loving as it seemed, and before you realise your lips are touching the cold metal buckles of her strap.
“Sae-Byeok?”, you ask. She blinks and looks down at you, no longer directly behind you, with her hand on your shoulder, but instead at least two feet to the right, with your whole arm extended to hold her hand. You’ve been analysing the prices of the products and telling her about them for the past several minutes, but your words seem to have fallen flat.
She gives one last startled glance at the products behind the glass in front of her, and then slowly takes the few steps necessary to be, once again standing behind you.
“Are you… okay?”, you quietly ask. “Do you want to leave?” She raises her eyebrows and quickly shakes her head ‘no’. You’ll keep the cost-benefit analysis to yourself.
After taking a brief look at the increasingly more expensive toys, you look up at the glass window behind which stand much bigger, purple dildos. The price tracks, these are much more realistic, they have veins, the ends of them are shaped and even a little slit is moulded in the tip of them. They seem a little intense to you, especially as the first purchase, but you’re open to the idea and certainly trust your girlfriend to make sure everything is pleasurable to you. As your gaze falls down to the black boxes at waist height, to look at the price options, Sae-Byeok, presumably unintentionally, pushes herself against your back. The curvature of your butt fits like a puzzle piece against her groin. You quickly glance to either side, and see that there is a couple where you stood a few minutes ago, but they are deep in conversation and likely don’t see Sae-Byeok pushing herself up against you… for some reason.
The veins on the purple dildo are life changing, and send electrifying pulses all over your body every single time that Sae-Byeok moves. The stretch of her new dick alone would be enough to send you cumming, but the ridges and tip of this purple beast all hit previously untouched territory inside of you. Your tits rub furiously against the table she bent you over, but the friction doesn’t hurt, or maybe it does? You wouldn’t notice either way. Sae-Byeok runs her hands down your arms, making them shiver, and pulls them together behind your back. You have no choice but to completely succumb to her every whim, going randomly faster before slowing down and focusing on deep, before speeding things back up and pulling all the way out of you just to slam it all back in. If someone heard the gasps that she forces out of you, they’d think you’re receiving the most shocking news of a lifetime. They wouldn’t know that you lie there motionless, feet barely touching the ground, while your girlfriend fills you to the brim. Sae-Byeok was taking complete care of you, your only job was to keep your head up and not bite your lip, and you were failing at both. “Bite your lip one more fucking time”, she spits out, using her hold on your arms to slam you towards her. Unfortunate, that she needed to keep telling you this. She continuously reiterates how desperate and whiny you sound, and how much she needs to her every bit of it. How dare you deny her of that!
She uses her free hand to slap it down on your ass, and thankfully for you, you managed to let your bottom lip free from your teeth just a millisecond before, allowing her the full pleasure of hearing your clear moan. She quietly curses at the sound and keeps her hand on your ass. She way that your pussy takes her dildo in its entirety allows for the perfect fit on your ass against her groin. The feeling and the sight is absolutely intoxicating her, and the light-headedness she feels from looking at you makes her indecisive. Hand on your shoulder, to push herself in deeper? On your ass, as a constant warning to not disobey her again? In your hair, tugging your head up every time you let it fall? She remains unsettled on all the equally fantastic options, and keeps her hand on your ass cheek, pulling it apart to watch as you swallow her purple cock whole.
Your unintentionally seductive groan seems to snap her back to reality much better than calling her name, despite it being a groan of annoyance. You let go of her hand seconds ago, and moved along without her. She stood there still as you looked further down the hallway, admiring the endless range of toys at your disposal, but dreading the hours it may take for the two of you to get through everything if Sae-Byeok continues at this pace. The way she rips her eyes away from the purple and veiny products looks like it hurt her. She sheepishly trots towards you, having to do so for several seconds before eventually getting to where you stand.
She returns to her position behind you, but to avoid any more mishaps like the previous mindless grinding she doesn’t even seem she was attempting, you lean your back against her chest. She wraps her arms around your waist and watches your reflection in the glass. You inspect the dildo. It’s the most expensive thing you’ve looked at thus far, but for good reason. It requires a special lube, that looks like cum? You can somehow stuff it inside, then when Sae-Byeok would fuck you, she would be able to release her load into you.
It’s unlike anything you’ve seen before, but it’s intriguing. As you inspect it, you notice Sae-Byeok is looking at you in the reflection. Not at the dildo behind the glass, but at you. You can see that the thoughts behind her eyes must be turbulent, whatever they may be.
You look in the mirror at Sae-Byeok’s hands grasping tightly under your knees. She’s strong; she holds your entire body weight in her arms, only dropping you occasionally… and rhythmically. She snaps her hips upwards, leaning back in the armchair, fucking the thick dildo upwards. You struggle resisting throwing your head back, and even with tears beginning to pool in your eyes, you just cannot stop looking in front of you at the reflection of your girlfriend. Even a meteor wouldn’t be able to break the dead locked gaze she has on the thick dildo disappearing inside of you.
Your moans become increasingly staggered as you reach closer to orgasm, whining and begging unidentifiably for something and simultaneously absolutely nothing. Not a thing that Sae-Byeok could do could make the fire burning in your pussy any hotter, you thought. In a last lazy attempt to stop your girlfriend’s potential edging tricks that could ensue, you almost break a sacred rule, and lift your hand from the armrest of the chair to try and speed up the impending climax. But you don’t make it even close to your tingly clit, before the glowing, electrifying heat spreads over your entire body, and you release. You both do.
With little idea how, and even less energy to find out, Sae-Byeok’s cock releases inside of you, the biggest load either of you have ever seen. The white cum pours out of you with every thrust, covering Sae-Byeok’s entire lap and sliding down her legs. The now ruined chair, covered slippery floor, nor itchy feeling of the lube dripping down her leg bothered her. Her sole focus was on you in the mirror. She slows down her thrusting, and lifts you off her. You lean back and lay against her chest, with your head on her shoulder and your cheek touching hers. You look identical to each other in that moment, both with sweat covering your upper lips, and with your mouths slightly agape, looking in the exact same spot in the mirror: at the white substance gushing out of you.
You’ve had enough of the trip. Sae-Byeok’s eyes continued to fixate on your reflection in the mirror, and no matter how many times you stick out of your tongue or smile at her, her serious expression never fades. You turn around and gently cup her face in your cold hands, waking her up.
“What do you think, baby? What should we get?”, you sweetly ask. There’s still rows and rows of other things that the two of you could play around with, but for now, what you’ve seen on this trip, feels sufficient to you. Sae-Byeok seemed a little more uncertain of being in here, so you let the final choice be hers. After a second of examining your face, your eyes, your lips, you’re finally graced with an answer.
“Whatever, as long as we buy it fast”

Tumblr media
se-mi / player 380 is the polar opposite of you. while you’re timid, she’s a very assertive woman who isn’t apprehensive about expressing herself.
if needed, she’d speak up or defend you from someone without a second thought. she often finds herself doing simple things like ordering your food for you or speaking for you in awkward social settings.
she finds your timidness cute at times, like when you shy away from her compliments.
“hey, you look pretty with your hair down.” “oh, thank you se-mi. it looks, like, average.” “be honest, you look stunning with it down. you should wear it like that more, pretty.”
the way she was able to fluster you every time will never get old to her. she loved to say flirty things for the hell of it, and to of course catch you off guard.
she has a habit of including you in whatever conversation she’s having, whether she realizes she’s doing it or not. it’s more of a subconscious doing of hers. though, she knows when and when to not drag you into discussions of hers.
she hates to see someone targeting you, especially if they know your shy personality. she steps in without a second thought to handle the situation for you.
sae-byeok / player 067 is alike to you in many ways. she never makes an effort to put herself out there unless completely necessary.
in social situations, she doesn’t mind stepping in and doing most of the communication for you.
she’s the first to defend you if someone tests you, because how dare someone come to you when they’re aware of your timidness? especially in her presence?
“hey, i got you. lemme know if they say something to you again.” “it’s fine. i can handle my own, sae-byeok.” “mhm. you better tell me.”
she coaxes you to keep to yourself rather than speak out. weirdly enough, she likes being the only person you trust enough to be vocal around. she likes the dependency.
no-eul / guard 011 doesn’t exactly lack courage or confidence, she just isn’t an outspoken woman. she keeps to herself most of the time, similar to you.
similar to se-mi, she likes to fluster you at every waking moment. she enjoys seeing the bashful look on your face whenever she constantly compliments you.
while she encourages you to speak up for yourself more often than not, she doesn’t mind stepping in for you.
“hey, defend yourself next time.” “i was planning to. you just.. beat me to it.” “whatever you say.”
she knows how you struggle to express yourself, but she teases you nonetheless. it’s all in good faith, though. she knows when you’ve reached your limits.
jun-hee / player 222 is similar to you in numerous ways. while she isn’t exactly timid, she doesn’t find herself speaking out in a lot of situations.
if it comes down to it, she’ll speak for you without a doubt. but if she knows you can handle your own, she’d leave you to it.
she frequently teases you for how bashful you are, as if she isn’t so similar to you.
“you’re so shy, so quiet.” “jun-hee, please shut up.” “oh, so she does speak?”
the two of you can often sit in silence for hours on end, basking in the presence of one another. you don’t speak many words because the solace between you two is more than enough.
she’s the perfect person to be around if you find serenity in quiet rather than deafening settings.
ji-yeong / player 240 is a bright difference from you. she’s very bubbly, outspoken, and animated.
you two look like an unlikely couple, like opposites that people wouldn’t expect to be together. but ji-yeong is adamant about the idea that opposites attract.
if needed, she can always speak up for you. as odd as it sounds, she enjoys speaking up for you when you’re in a non-verbal state.
“hey, want me to speak for you?” “ji-yeong, as much as i love you, i need to speak up for myself.” “okay.. but please take me up on my offer in the future.”
she feels a sort of protectiveness around you. given you’re her partner, but especially with your shy nature. it’s like a need to shield you from anything and anyone.
hyun-ju / player 120 is quite the contrast, as she was never really nervous or bashful. she asserts herself in most circumstances, unlike yourself.
she stands up for you without hesitation, mainly because she knows firsthand what it’s like to be belittled by others.
she’s been in so many situations in which others have degraded her so she knows how to deal with it easily.
“come to me if they say something else to you, yeah?” “of course. thank you so much, hyun-ju. i don’t know what i’d do without you.” “don’t mention it.”
even though it’s hard to believe, you’re able to fluster her rather than the other way around. any lovey-dovey thing you say has her gone.
she enjoys sitting in silence with you, just like jun-hee. comfortable tranquility with someone she cherishes cannot be beaten.

pairing kang sae-byeok x fem!reader | wc: 4.2k
synopsis your girlfriend comes home from work feeling a bit more clingier than usual, resulting in clips of her going viral for being handsy on stream.
genre pure fluff | requested by anon. | masterlist
Tumblr media
Kang Sae-byeok had a way of entering a room like a quiet storm, carrying an energy that was both calming and commanding. You didn't need to look up to know it was her. The familiar chime of your home security as the front door opened, the muffled shuffle of her sneakers against the hardwood floor, and the almost imperceptible sigh she let out as if shedding the brunt of her day off once she stepped into the apartment were enough to signal her return. It was late—her long shifts often stretched into the night—but even exhaustion couldn't dull the magnetic presence she brought with her.
You were mid-stream, headphones snug over your ears as the glow of your screen illuminated the darkened room. The chat was buzzing with activity, viewers throwing suggestions and jokes your way as you tried your hardest to focus on the decision-based games storyline.
Then from the corner of your eye, you caught a glimpse of her feet padding towards your streaming room until the door slowly creaked open. her head slowly peeking in to try and not disrupt you. A glimpse of dark hair, tired eyes, and the faintest smile that tugged at her lips as she peeked into the room, the smallest smile tugging at her lips as she gazed at your relaxed figure. She stood there for a moment, her fingers curling around the edge of the door frame as if debating whether to disturb you. But then, as always, her desire to be near you won out. Fighting against her hesitance, she stepped inside with the quiet grace you adored, her presence like a soothing balm.
“Hey,” she whispered, her voice as soft and understated as her footsteps.
You glanced at her, your heart doing a little flip at the sight of her. “Hold on, guys,” you said quickly, ignoring the flurry of comments in the chat as you muted your mic. The viewers could wait—Sae-byeok never could, The influx of comments going unnoticed by the both of you as you stared up at her adoringly.

catdog1967 i know that ain't who i think it is…
"You look tired," you said gently, your voice barely above a whisper.
"I am," she replied, her tone understated but warm. "But I needed to see you."
Without another word, she dipped down and kissed you. It wasn't a rushed kiss, but slow and full of emotion, her lips brushing against yours as though she were savoring the moment. One of her hands left her pocket to cradle your cheek, her thumb grazing your skin in a feather-light touch that sent shivers down your spine. She broke away for a brief moment only to kiss you again, this time lingering longer, her lips warm and soft, molding perfectly against yours.
“How’s it going?” she murmured quietly, barely breaking away from your lips as her voice carried the weight of her rough work day but still dripping with affection.
“It’s going,” you whisper slightly dazed. “You?” you quietly add on, tilting your head in question.
She lazily shrugged her shoulders before she closed the gap between you once again, her lips brushing against yours in a kiss that was as gentle as it was grounding.
Her fingers lightly grazed your cheek, her thumb tracing an invisible pattern along your jawline as she kissed you again—this one lingering, her lips soft and warm against yours as if she were a starved woman, seeking out your touch.
“What game are you playing?” she asked between soft pecks, her voice tinged with curiosity and a faint rasp from a long day as she held your chin in place to continue her flurry of soft pecks.
“Just—something for…for the stream,” you mumbled, unable to focus with her so close. You didn’t want to pull away, and judging by the way her thumb continued to gently stroke your chin, neither did she.
Finally, she smiled softly, her fingers brushing a stray strand of hair from your face. “I’m going to take a quick shower. Don’t miss me too much,” she teased, her words playful but her tone gentle. She pinched your cheek lightly before stepping away, her hand slipping from your face at the last moment as though reluctant to fully let go.
Her absence left a hollow ache in the air, but you pushed it aside. It was impossible to get your mind to focus entirely when the thought of her lingered in your mind-the softness of her lips, the warmth of her touch, the way her presence seemed to fill every corner of the apartment.

You turned back to your stream. Confusion etched on your face as the speed of the chat doubled seemingly out of nowhere, until the slow realization came to you that your camera was still on and your fans saw everything.
Your face instantly flushed, the feeling of warmth creeped up your neck slowly as you unmuted your mic. You cleared your throat softly before continuing on with game as if nothing happened, refusing to look at the chat as you typed away on your keyboard, adding in your own soft quips and lines of commentary but your voice was slightly weaker from before, still feeling the trace of Sae-Byeok on your lips.
It wasn’t long before she returned, interrupting your stream once again. This time, her hair was damp, framing her face in soft waves that clung to her cheeks. She wore an oversized sweater that hung loosely off one shoulder, paired with black shorts that revealed her long, toned legs. Her bare feet padded quietly across the floor as she approached, her movements unhurried, almost cat-like.
She leaned over the back of your chair, her arms draping around your shoulders as she rested her head lightly against yours. Her damp hair tickled your temple, and her scent—clean, earthy, and undeniably hers—enveloped you.
“Are you hungry?” she asked, her voice soft yet casual as she scrolled through a food delivery app on her phone. Her fingers moved with an absentminded grace, the light from the screen reflecting off her delicate features.
You muted your mic again, ignoring the flurry of comments in the chat. “Yeah, what are you in the mood for?” you asked, your tone playful.
She shrugged, a faint smile tugging at her lips as she scrolled. “Anything’s fine, as long as it’s with you,” she replied, her voice barely above a whisper. Her body remained pressed against yours, her warmth grounding you in a way nothing else could even after she put the order in for your food.
You glanced up at her, your lips twitching into a smile. “Why are you still here?” you teased, reaching up to gently touch her arm.
She blinked, her eyes widening slightly as though just realizing how long she’d been standing there. With a soft chuckle, she straightened up, the hand holding her phone brushing against your shoulder briefly. “Right. You’re streaming. Sorry,” she murmured, the faintest blush coloring her cheeks as she reluctantly stepped away.
saccharinesulli need more content of sae-byeok and y/n on my desk by monday, 10pm sharp. preferably with audio
isafromcali not she came back for seconds 😛
onyyxx I NEED A LIP READER, WHERE ARE ALL OF THE LIP READERSSS
kittyuuuuhh this is the most we’ve ever seen of sae-byeok AND IM NOT COMPLAINING
Glancing at the chat you said nothing again, hiding the smile that fought its way onto your face with one of your sweater paws as you switched over to a video to watch instead. “You guys are having way too much fun,” you quietly murmur.
Once the food arrived, Sae-byeok reappeared, balancing two plates of takeout in her hands. She hesitated in the doorway, shifting her weight from one foot to the other as her gaze darted between you and your computer screen.
“Can I stay here?” she asked softly, her voice laced with hesitation. You watched as she continued to nervously shift from one to the other, her hands clutching the plates as though it might anchor her.
Without caring to mute yourself to your audience again, you simply nodded and beckoned her over. “Of course.”
She exhaled quietly, relief evident in the way her shoulders relaxed. Sinking to the floor beside you out of camera view, she crosses her legs and rests her head against your dangling leg. Her free arm wrapped loosely around it, anchoring herself to you in a way that felt natural and familiar, while her other hand busied itself on feeding her.
“You sure you don’t want to sit on the couch?” you asked, glancing down at her. “You’d be more comfortable.”
She shook her head, her cheek brushing against your leg as she continued eating. “I’m fine here,” she replied, her voice muffled but content. Her chewing was gentle, the faint vibrations of her jaw against your leg making you giggle softly. She glanced up at you, her lips curving into a small, amused smile before she returned to her food.
Even as you resumed your stream, her presence grounded you. Occasionally, you felt her gaze on you, quiet and thoughtful, but she never said a word. She simply stayed there, her head resting against you as though she belonged there.
After finishing your meals together, she gently tapped your leg, signaling her intention to get up. She collected the plates with practiced ease, her fingers brushing yours briefly as she took yours. Just before turning to leave, she leaned down, her lips brushing softly against your temple in a fleeting, tender kiss. “I’ll take care of these,” she said softly, her voice like a melody, the warmth of her kiss lingering on your skin as she disappeared into the kitchen.
Her absence was brief, only a minute or so, before she reappeared in the doorway. She stood there for a moment, her silhouette framed by the soft glow of the hallway light, holding a small bowl of mochi ice cream in her hands. Her fingers curled delicately around the edge of the bowl as if she were cradling something fragile. “Do you want dessert?” she asked, her voice quiet and tinged with a tentative hopefulness that tugged at your heart.
You turned toward her, your smile widening at the sight. “Absolutely,” you said, nodding eagerly, the excitement in your voice making her lips twitch upward in the faintest of smiles. She stepped forward with her usual grace, placing the bowl gently into your hands, her fingertips grazing yours for a moment longer than necessary.
Instead of retreating, as you half-expected, Sae-byeok surprised you by lowering herself onto the floor beside your chair once again. She tucked her legs beneath her, her movements slow and deliberate, as she hooked her arm loosely around your dangling leg once again. Her body seemed to relax as she rested her head lightly against your knee, the familiar warmth of her touch grounded you in an instant.
She picked up her own share of mochi ice cream and began eating quietly, her gaze occasionally flitting toward you. Every now and then, you caught her watching you, her dark, expressive eyes filled with a quiet affection that made your heart tighten in your chest. The soft curve of her lips, the way her lashes cast shadows against her cheeks, and the tender way she lingered so close—it was as though she was trying to soak in every moment with you.
Sae-byeok wasn’t normally like this. She was always so cautious, so careful about avoiding the cameras and giving you space while you worked. She’d rarely even step foot in your streaming room, her natural shyness and private nature keeping her at a distance. But tonight felt different. Tonight, her usual restraint seemed to melt away, replaced by an uncharacteristic clinginess that was both endearing and heart-achingly sweet. Her need to be close to you outweighed her usual hesitations, and you couldn’t help but smile as the butterflies thrashed around in your stomach.
Once you finished your share of mochi ice cream, you absentmindedly rested your hand on your knee. Before you could even blink, Sae-byeok reached for it, her fingers wrapping gently around yours as she guided your hand to her head. The silky, yet damp strands of her hair slipped through your fingers as you began to massage her scalp, your movements soft and tender. She released a quiet, contented sigh, her entire body relaxing further into you. Her eyes fluttered closed for a moment, her long lashes brushing delicately against her cheeks, but then they opened again, gazing up at you with a vulnerable, unspoken longing that made your heart ache.
Her gaze immediately drew your attention back down to her, forgetting about the mic still being on as you leaned closer, your voice gentle and full of concern. “What’s wrong, baby?” you asked, your words as soft as a whisper meant only for her.
Sae-byeok hesitated, her lips parting slightly as if to speak, but instead, she buried her face into the fabric of your pants. Her breath was warm against your leg, and her hands fidgeted with the hem of your pant leg, her movements small, and nervous. Finally, she murmured, so quietly you almost didn’t hear her, “Can we cuddle?”
Your heart melted on the spot, a soft laugh escaping your lips. She was always so composed, so guarded, but moments like these—when she let her vulnerability peek through—left you utterly captivated. Before you could reassure her, she quickly added, her voice rushing out in a soft flurry, “You don’t have to end the stream. I just want you to sit on my lap.”
Your breath hitched at her shy but bold request, glancing over to your chat who unmistakably heard what she asked. Ignoring the flurry of messages coming in, you nodded immediately, unable to deny her anything. Sae-byeok stood with a fluid grace, her movements purposeful but quiet as she disappeared into the bedroom. Once she returned, she was holding a soft, familiar blanket in her hands. She motioned for you to stand, her fingers brushing lightly against your sides as she gently guided you out of your chair.
Once she was seated, she patted her lap, her lips curving into the faintest smile as she looked at you expectantly. Sae-byeok’s arms tightened around your waist, her body a grounding warmth beneath you as you settled into her lap. Her head rested against your shoulder, and her fingers absently traced small, soothing circles along your hip under the blanket. She nuzzled her face into the crook of your neck, her breath feather-light against your skin as she inhaled deeply, as though she was trying to commit your presence to memory.
The stream continued in the background, the faint sound of your chat bubbling with comments about the unexpected scene unfolding before them.
Despite her usual shyness around the camera, Sae-byeok seemed perfectly content, nestled close to you as if the world outside the two of you didn’t exist. You had almost forgotten about the viewers entirely until a particularly enthusiastic comment caught your attention.
yoondiaries she's hot omg
You laughed softly, unable to resist glancing at the chat. “They’re talking about you, baby,” you teased, turning your head slightly to meet Sae-byeok’s gaze.
Her reaction was immediate. Her cheeks flushed a delicate pink as her eyes widened in surprise. “They can see me?” she whispered, her voice hushed but filled with quiet panic.
You nodded your head gently, resting a reassuring hand over hers. “Yes, they can see you.”
Her blush deepened as she buried her face into the curve of your neck, her warm breath tickling your skin. “I shouldn’t have stayed,” she murmured, her voice muffled against you.
“You’re fine,” you gently reassured, your free hand coming up to stroke her hair. The silky strands slipped easily through your fingers as you murmured, “They’re just excited to see you. Don’t let them get to you.”
She huffed softly, the sound halfway between amusement and exasperation, and burrowed deeper into your neck to hide her embarrassment. Her arms squeeze you tighter, her grip firm yet gentle, and the warmth of her shy affection makes your heart ache in the best way.
“I’m never doing this again,” she mumbled, though the way her lips brushed against your skin betrayed her growing comfort.
“Sure you won’t,” you teased, pressing a light kiss to her temple. “But if you happen to change your mind, I’ll make sure the chat behaves next time.”
Sae-byeok sighed, a small laugh escaping her as her tension melted away. “Fine,” she relented, her voice softer now. “But only for you.”
As the comments continued to roll in, filled with adoration for Sae-Byeok’s sudden appearance, Her hold on you tightened slightly, her arms drawing you closer as if she feared you might slip away. “I love you,” she whispered, her voice so soft and reverent that it sent a shiver down your spine.
“I love you too,” you replied, your voice just as tender as you leaned back into her embrace. Her warmth enveloped you completely, and the world beyond the two of you faded into insignificance. The stream, the comments, the video—they all dissolved into the background. In that moment, it was just you and Sae-byeok, your hearts beating in perfect sync as you held each other in a cocoon of quiet, unspoken love.

The next morning, you woke to the soft glow of sunlight streaming through the curtains and the faint sound of your phone buzzing incessantly on the nightstand. You groaned, shifting slightly, only to feel Sae-byeok’s arm tighten around your waist. Her face was pressed into your shoulder, her messy hair tickling your neck as she mumbled something incoherent and burrowed closer.
Your phone buzzed again—louder this time—and you reluctantly reached for it, careful not to disturb her too much. As you unlocked the screen, a flurry of notifications greeted you, more than usual: texts, tags, and countless mentions on social media. Your stomach twisted in curiosity as you opened one of the links, and your heart nearly stopped when you saw the title of the viral clip:
"@y/nstreamss and her girlfriend need to be protected at all costs 🥺”
“Oh no…” you muttered under your breath, scrolling through the endless comments and reposts. Clips of last night’s stream were everywhere—each one capturing Sae-byeok’s shy gestures, the way she clung to you, and her adorable attempt to hide her face from the chat. The internet was in love.
“Babe,” you whispered, turning to glance at Sae-byeok. She was still half-asleep, her breathing slow and steady, completely unaware of her newfound fame.
Deciding to let her rest a bit longer, you scrolled through the trending hashtags:
• #THEYRESOCUTE
• #Saebyeok
• #Y/NANDSAEBYEOK
The replies and tweets were even more dramatic than the hashtags:
oliviahyeee i don’t even know them, but i’d die for them.
sullisicecream the way they look at each other? GODD I LOVE WOMEN
y2katseye need a 12 episode reality show of them ASAP.
wonderofwinter wait, this is really fucking cute :((
One video in particular caught your attention. It had racked up millions of views overnight, featuring the exact moment Sae-byeok had buried her face into your neck after seeing the comments. Someone had edited the clip with soft music and sparkles, and the top comment read: “This is the purest thing I’ve ever seen. Protect her at all costs.”
You couldn’t help but laugh quietly, shaking your head. “They’re obsessed with you, Sae,” you murmured, glancing down at her sleeping form.
As if on cue, she stirred, her brows furrowing as she opened one eye groggily. “What time is it?” she mumbled, her voice raspy from sleep.
“10:15,” you replied softly, brushing a strand of hair out of her face. “Also, you went viral overnight.”
Her eyes opened fully at that, a look of confusion crossing her face. “What?”
You handed her your phone, showing her one of the clips. She blinked at it, still trying to wake up, but as the video played, her expression shifted from confusion to wide-eyed disbelief.
“Why… why are they all talking about me?” she asked, sitting up slightly.
“Because you’re cute,” you teased, grinning. “Apparently, the internet agrees.”
Her cheeks flushed a deep red as she handed the phone back to you after scrolling through a few comments. “This is your fault,” she muttered, burying her face in her hands.
“Mine? You’re the one who wanted to cuddle during the stream!”
She groaned, flopping back onto the bed and pulling the blanket over her head. “I didn’t think anyone would really notice or care…”
You laughed, tugging the blanket down just enough to reveal her eyes. “It’s not so bad. They all love you.”
Sae-byeok sighed, her lips twitching into a small, reluctant smile. “It’s still embarrassing.”
You leaned down, pressing a kiss to her forehead. “Maybe, but you’re an internet sensation now.”
Sae-byeok groaned, burying her face in your shoulder. "You're impossible."
"And you love me for it," you quipped, pressing another playful kiss to her cheek this time.
She sighed dramatically but couldn't hide the quiet laugh that escaped her. "I do," she admitted, her voice soft as she tucked herself into your embrace.
Sae-byeok’s initial embarrassment began to fade, replaced by quiet amusement. And though she might never admit it, you could tell she secretly enjoyed the attention—especially when it came from being with you.
The two of you lifted yourselves up to sit cross-legged on your shared bed, your phone propped up between you as you scrolled through the never-ending flood of comments and clips. Sae-byeok rested her chin on your shoulder, her hair lightly brushing your cheek, trying to stay composed despite the way her ears were turning red.
“Look at this one,” you said, biting back a laugh as you pointed to a tweet:
hwrts4isa im not even mad the stream paused like 10 times. if my gf was THIS clingy and cute, i wouldn’t care about gaming either.
Sae-byeok groaned, burying her face into the crook of your neck. “Why do they keep calling me clingy?” she mumbled, though the way her arms wrapped tightly around your waist said she wasn’t exactly denying it.
“Because you are, babe,” you teased, turning to kiss the top of her head.
She lightly nudged you but didn’t let go, her eyes peeking out from behind her bangs. “Keep scrolling,” she said quietly, trying to sound unaffected, though her curiosity was clear.
You did as she asked, stopping on another comment, this one attached to a short clip of her kissing your cheek while the stream chat exploded in real time.
sugarina when she kissed her and then just stayed there like that??? EEEEEEEKK somebody find me a sae-byeok. o(≧▽≦)o
“See? You’re making people jealous of me now,” you teased, nudging her playfully.
Her lips twitched into a small smile despite herself. “Good. They should be,” she replied, her tone softer than her words.
Another clip caught your attention, showing the moment she hid her face in your neck after reading the comments live. The caption read:
pinkchae sae-byeok is the cutest fairy gumdrop princess kitten gummy bear ever. we need to protect her at all costs.
Sae-byeok let out a small huff, her face turning crimson as she pulled the blanket up to cover her head. “What the hell are t—Why are they calling me that?” she muttered, her voice muffled.
You burst out laughing, pulling the blanket down so you could see her flushed face. “Because you’re adorable, obviously,” you said, brushing a stray strand of hair from her cheek.
She pouted, crossing her arms but not moving away from you. “Your fans are exhausting,” she said, though the corners of her mouth betrayed a small smile.
You kept scrolling, landing on a particularly bold comment under another clip:
fleurgrl if i can’t have this kind of love, i don’t want it at all. also, when is the wedding and can i come?
At that, Sae-byeok let out a surprised laugh, her eyes widening. “Wedding?!” she exclaimed, her voice cracking slightly.
You smirked, leaning closer. “Well, what do you think? Should I put a ring on it?”
She shoved you gently, though her blush deepened. “Stop teasing,” she murmured, but the shy smile on her lips said she didn’t entirely mind.
As you continued reading through the comments together, Sae-byeok’s initial embarrassment began to fade. Though she still hid her face every now and then, she couldn’t help but laugh at the way people adored her.
“It’s not as bad as I thought it would be,” she finally admitted, resting her head on your shoulder. “But I’m still never showing up on stream again.”
You chuckled, wrapping your arms around her. “Sure, sure. Whatever you say… until you get clingy again.”
Her groan of protest was muffled against your shoulder, but the way she tightened her hold on you spoke louder than any words ever could.

Tumblr media
˚ ༘♡ the rain cascaded in a relentless downpour, burying the world in its somber rhythm. you stood motionless, soaked to the bone, your tattered black satin gown clinging to your pallid skin, pearls glinting faintly in the dim moonlight. across from you stood cho sang-woo, his tailored suit stained with smears of blood that had long since dried, a stark contrast to the high-class reputation he once upheld. there had been a time when the sight of him would have filled you with affection, a time when you had imagined him as your husband, the man you would spent all of eternity with.
˚ ༘♡ the man before you now bore no resemblance to the one you had loved so deeply. where once there had been kindness, there was now a malicious cruelty. the charm that had drawn you in, the quiet strength and righteous honesty, had been nothing more than a facade. before the games, your lives had seemed perfect, lavish dinners at exclusive steakhouses, extravagant shopping trips, the allure of wealth. yet it was never the riches that held your heart. you had loved him for the moments of vulnerability, the whispered dreams during midnight strolls, the promises of a future built on trust. now, those memories felt like lies, twisted shadows of a man who no longer existed.
˚ ༘♡ his grip on the knife was steady, the same blade he had used to take sae-byeok’s life. you could still see her fragile form laid on the ground, blood swarming under her stiff body as her she weakly murmured her little brother’s name. she had begged for another chance to see him again, her eyes glazed with fear and dread, only to be silenced in a merciless slashing. that moment was etched into your soul, an infested wound that refused to heal. you had pleaded with gi-hun to spare sang-woo when the opportunity arose, your love for him, a ghost of what it once was, still clinging to the hope that he could be saved. however, sparing him had been a mistake.
˚ ༘♡ sang-woo had demonstrated no remorse. he had turned his blade on gi-hun after being confronted for sae-byeok’s murder, killing his childhood best friend with little hesitation, leaving you as the only two left to face the end. now, as the rain fell in endless torrents, you stood in the storm’s heart, the past unraveling between you. the love you had once cherished lay shattered at your feet, replaced by a chasm of betrayal and regret.
˚ ༘♡ “sang-woo,” you called out, your voice steady despite the quivering in your limbs. your gaze locked onto his, and slowly, deliberately, you let the knife slip from your grasp. it landed in the rain-soaked sand with a muted thud, quickly swallowed by the muck. droplets cascaded down your face, obscuring your vision, but you didn’t look away. “you’ve killed so many,” you said, your voice carrying over the storm, though faint and muffled. “innocent strangers, people who trusted you, those who loved you. i’m no different.”
˚ ༘♡ his jaw clenched as his face contorted with rage. “pick up the damn knife!” he shouted, his voice raw and jagged. his body shook, a mix of fury and something more fragile, a deep, unspoken torment etched into his expression. his eyes betrayed him, scorned and sorrowful.
˚ ༘♡ “i will not,” you replied softly, your soaked hair sticking to your melancholic face. “i won’t fight you. i can’t.” your breathing troubled as you continued, words tumbling out between the harsh pouring of the rain. “even if i won… what would it matter? what’s left for me to go back to? the money won’t mend this. it can’t rid what’s been done, the people we’ve lost, the pieces of ourselves we’ll never get back.”
˚ ༘♡ for a split second, his grip on the knife loosened, his fingers moving as though fighting an internal war, but just as quickly, they tightened. blood trailed down the cut across his face, mingling with the rain, streaking his skin with crimson. “damn it!” he barked, his chest rising and falling in uneven breaths. “stop being so difficult and come here! let’s finish this!”
˚ ༘♡ “no, sang-woo,” you said firmly, taking a step toward him, unarmed, your hands open at your sides. “if the money is all you care about, if you’re so desperate to go back and see your mother, to undo all your mistakes, to lead the life you desire, to have a beautiful home, a loving wife, good children, then kill me. go ahead. take the knife and end the game.”
˚ ༘♡ tears burned your eyes, falling hot and salty down your face before the rain could wash them away. you moved closer, mere inches from him now, your voice low and steady, almost a whisper. “do it,” you murmured. “you’ll have to, or neither of us gets anything, and i won’t hurt you, sang-woo.”
˚ ༘♡ his arm lifted, the knife angled toward your chest. his jaw tightened, his breathing ragged, but he didn’t strike. the blade hovered between you, shaking ever so slightly. “i… i can’t kill you,” he said, his voice breaking as the words escaped him.
˚ ༘♡ “but you could kill sae-byeok?” you asked, voice hoarse, choking on your words, your lips curving downward in a frown. “you could kill gi-hun? their lives meant less than mine? sae-byeok had her little brother waiting for her, and gi-hun has a daughter who will never understand why her father didn’t come back.” your voice grew softer, mellowed by despair. “their lives were important, sang-woo. their lives held no less value than yours or mine.”
˚ ༘♡ his face became grim, a flash of anguish breaking through his hardened mask. “don’t you think i understand that?” he shouted, his voice catching on the words. his free hand pressed against his chest as though the pain inside was physical, unbearable. “i didn’t do it because i wanted to! you think i enjoyed it? you think i’m a sadist?” his voice cracked, his desperation bleeding into every word. “everything i’ve done… i had no choice! i have to fix this. i have to make it right. otherwise, what was all of this for? the sacrifices, the suffering, it will mean nothing!”
˚ ༘♡ the rain fell harder, drowning out the quietude, as his words hung in the air, each one more bitter than the last. you could see it, the guilt embedded into his aged face, the torment tearing him apart, but it didn’t undo the blood on his hands.
˚ ༘♡ your fingers wrapped around his trembling hand, guiding the blade to your throat. the cold metal kissed your skin, and your voice was composed despite the tears falling freely down your face. “go home, sang-woo,” you said softly, your grip strengthened to keep his hand close to you.
˚ ༘♡ his face was streaked with rain and tears now, his composure unraveling. his breathing was uneven, his chest heaving as he tried to pull the knife away. “i won’t do it,” he choked out, his voice hoarse, trembling with something between anguish and resolve. his fingers curled tighter around the hilt, but not to push forward, only to keep it from you. “i won’t kill you.”
˚ ༘♡ the silence that followed was deafening, broken only by the rain pounding against the earth. your gaze shifted to the stormy horizon, staring blankly at the void ahead. “sang-woo,” you whispered, your tone solemn, distant. “do you remember that night you stayed over at my place? you said you liked my cooking, even though we both knew it was awful. and i laughed at all your ridiculous, outdated jokes and listened to your business jargon, even when i didn’t know half the terms you used, i liked being the woman you spent your days with.” a faint, bittersweet smile tugged at your lips, though it was short-lived, disappearing as quickly as it came. “that’s the day i remember the most. not the gifts, not the trips, not the money. none of it mattered to me. only mattered. i wanted you, nothing else.”
˚ ༘♡ his breath snagged, his lips parting to speak, but no words came. you turned your tear-streaked face toward him, meeting his tormented gaze. “it will never be like that again,” you said, your voice breaking. “we can’t go back, sang-woo. not after everything.”
˚ ༘♡ before he could react, you wrenched the knife from his hand with a sudden, sharp motion. his eyes widened, panic flashing across his face as he reached for you. but it was too far too late. the blade pierced your throat with brutal precision, and the warmth of your blood poured over your trembling hands. you staggered, the world moving and fading around you, your legs giving out beneath you as you collapsed.
˚ ༘♡ “sang-woo…” you murmured, your voice barely audible as you crumpled to the wet sand. scarlet-red ichor spilled out in thick rivers, melding with the rain-soaked earth.
˚ ༘♡ “no!” he screamed, his voice raw and broken, as he fell to his knees beside you. quivering hands reached for you, lifting your head from the wet sand as rain pelted down in icy sheets. his tears mingled with the blood streaking your face, his sobs shaking his entire body. “please, no… don’t do this,” he choked out, desperation lacing every word. “stay with me, please.”
˚ ༘♡ you opened your mouth to speak, but the words came weak, barely audible over the thunderous rain. “my… my family,” you sputtered, your voice thick with the blood flooding your throat. each breath was a struggle, your chest rising and falling in shallow gasps. “tell them… tell them i won’t be there anymore, okay?” your fingers, trembling and cold, lifted to brush against his bloodied cheek. your touch was feather-light, tender despite your waning strength. “sang-woo… please, don’t forget me, okay?”
˚ ༘♡ his face was agonized, tears streaming past the injuries that marred his angular features, it was rare to see him so emotional, so delirious with grief. “i won’t,” he swore, his voice cracking beneath the strain of his grief. “i won’t forget you. i’ll never…” he stopped, his words caught in his throat as he pressed his hands to the gaping wound on your neck, desperate to stop the flow of blood. it was a futile effort, the red blood spilled through his fingers, staining the sand beneath you. “please, stay with me,” he whispered, his voice shatterred into a sob. “don’t leave me. please. i can’t live without you.”
˚ ༘♡ his desperate efforts were all in vain. the life was draining from your body, the world dimming around you. your breaths came slower, softer, each one feeling close to your last. his frantic cries grew distant, muffled as if you were slipping underwater. your vision blurred, the storm above fading into oblivion. and yet, through it all, his face remained clear as could be, the pain in his dark eyes burned into your thoughts.
˚ ༘♡ the last sound you heard was not his voice, but something colder, emptier. an emotionless voice echoed through the air, chilling and robotic, void of anything human.
˚ ༘♡ “player 177, eliminated.”
˚ ༘♡ you exhaled one final breath, your hand falling limply from sang-woo’s bloodied face as the darkness consumed you.

oh em GEE I saw ur Kang noeul fic and I was literally shaking and that made me think of Sub! saebyeok headcannons PLEAee ILY AND UR WORKS
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Warning(s): Smut, Oral, slight Fingering
-
Sub!Saebyeok would kinda get shy, but sparks of adrenaline will rush through her body when you gently spread her thighs. She bites her bottom lip to stop herself from grinning too hard. She examines under her lashes at how you kiss her inner thigh. A soft sigh will escape her lips when she notices you’re starting to lower your face to her core.
Sub!Saebyeok is a total watcher. Her eyes never leave your face. She loves to watch you go completely drunk over her cunt. She focuses on the way your lips would wrap around her clit and suck. You roll your tongue against her core and back up to her clit. A blush forms on her cheeks when she sees her juice connect with your lips when you pull away to catch your breath.
Sub!Saebyeok is usually quiet, but she’s the total opposite during these moments. She will cry and pant out loud. She would beg and grind her hips into your mouth. You have to hold her thighs apart as she squeals around.
“Please please please,” She begs. Her voice turns a few notices up. You will suck harder and bring your fingers up to fill her cunt. She arches her back and chokes out a moan. She brings one hand down and accidentally grips your hair hard. Her eyebrows furrow as she continues watching you, so lost in her pleasure.
Sub!Saebyeok would bring her other hand to cover her mouth. Her moans become muffled. You would pull away, and a trail of her juice connects from her core to your mouth.
“Why did you stop?” She whines. You take her hand from her mouth and gentle held it, not letting go.
“I want to hear you,” You explain before going back to licking her core. Her stomach tenses and she tilts her head back into the pillow. She cusses and jerks feverishly into your mouth. You close your eyes to focus on the feeling of her cunt, but she tugs your hair hard. You look up to her blushing and sweaty face.
“Look at me when I come,” She grunts.
Sub!Saebyeok would orgasm hard with a high-pitched moan. Her body would twitch uncontrollably. She will slowly stop moving her hips into your mouth. You lean away and gently kiss her hand. As she catches her breath, she smiles and lets out a soft giggle. She notices how hard you’re clenching your thighs together.

“Players, we sincerely congratulate and commend you all for successfully making it through the first five games” the masked man spoke, me and sae were sitting next to each other on one of the beds, my attention turned from him towards her noticing her heavy and unsettling breathings.
“Sae” she turned her lightly shaking head towards me “u okay?” I asked her, she looked away hesitated for a second and shook her head “what’s wrong” she didn’t say anything else back to me.
“The four of you are now finalists and as such, we have prepared special gifts for each of you. Eventually we reveal the gift, please take a moment to change into the outfit we have brought.”
After we’ve gotten our gifts, me and sae made our way into the bathroom, on the way there she was slightly limping and gripping my arm like she was in pain “sae if there’s something wrong please tell me” I ask as I places both of our black boxes on the edge of the sink.
She stared at me for a seconds before taking her shirt off revealing a huge glass stuck in her lower abdomen “fuck Sae” I said and took a step closer towards her looking more at the big damage. She looked down at me while breathing heavily.
“I can take it out and-“ I noticed how quickly she shook her head “no, no let me do” she said, I stared up at her and slowly nodded “please be careful” I mumbled, she then gripped the edge of the sharpe glass, taking a second before pulling the glass out leaving her groaning in pain as she gripped the sink for support.
I quickly grabbed a rag and pressed it on her, she grinned her teeth and leaned onto me “hey, imma need you to stand up straight okay? Can you do f’ me? She let out a small groan and stood up straight(kinda) “here, press down on it” she gripped and pressed down on the rag, I pulled my hands away and grabbed my shirt trying to find a clean spot and tore it.
I wrapped it around her waist and double knotting it so it could stay together. Once I was finished she washed her hands, put water over her face and stared at herself in the mirror before she locked eyes with me.
“U okay” she chuckled a bit “no not really” she mumbled and I nodded “let’s get you dressed” she didn’t put up a fight about it and let me dress her into her tuxedo “you look good” I said trying to brighten up the mood, she started at me and placed a gentle kiss on my cheek.
“I love you” I giggled grinning like an idiot “I love you to Sae” I placed a kiss on her slightly bruised lips “when we get outta here, wanna go to Hawaii?” The corner of her lip tugged up a little at my question “yeah, we could go” “and we could bring cheol with us” I bounced in excitement as her smiles grew. “Of course we can” I giggled.
“Let’s get dressed now and after this we can get you checked out and after you heal then we can go off somewhere, the three of us” I said opening the box and started to get dressed.
But who knew that neither one of us was gonna make it out alive.

The breakup had left a hollow ache inside you. At first, you tried to convince yourself it wasn’t a big deal. People broke up every day, didn’t they? But as the days stretched into weeks, the reality sank in: they’d chosen someone else over you. The betrayal stung more than you were willing to admit.
Eunji, ever the faithful friend, was quick to notice your decline. One evening, after you canceled plans for the third time that week, she stormed into your apartment with wine, snacks, and a pointed determination to drag you out of your funk.
“You can’t keep moping around,” she said, tossing a throw pillow at you as you sulked on the couch. “You’re too hot to let them ruin you.”
You snorted, but the laughter felt foreign. “Hot? Eunji, I’ve barely showered this week.”
“Exactly my point,” she said, grabbing your hand and pulling you up. “We’re doing a makeover. You’re going to remind yourself—and everyone else—exactly who the hell you are.”
You rolled your eyes, but deep down, you couldn’t deny the idea had merit. That night, Eunji introduced the seed of rebellion: “Have you ever thought about dyeing your hair?
The next day, you stared at yourself in the mirror, box of red hair dye in hand.
The breakup had left you craving change, and this was your first step. The fiery red was bold, brash, and unapologetic—the exact opposite of how you felt. But as you worked the dye into your hair, you imagined yourself as the confident, fearless woman you wanted to become.
When you rinsed the dye out and styled your hair into loose, messy waves, you barely recognized the woman staring back. The red brought out a new intensity in your eyes, and the bold color paired with your nose piercing gave you an edge that felt exciting and liberating.
You snapped a picture and sent it to Eunji.
“Holy shit,” she texted back almost immediately. “You look like a goddamn rockstar. I’m coming over.”
Tumblr media
“You need a new piercing to go with that hair,” Eunji announced as she lounged on your couch that evening.
“Piercing?” you echoed, raising an eyebrow.
“Yeah. Something edgy. Like an eyebrow piercing. Ooh, or a lip ring!”
You laughed but found yourself considering it. “Do you have a place in mind?”
Eunji’s face lit up. “Black Needle Studio. Trust me, they’re the best. And,” she added with a smirk, “the piercer? Se-Mi? Hot. As. Fuck.”
“Hot, huh?” you said, intrigued despite yourself.
“Hot doesn’t even begin to cover it,” Eunji said, sitting up to look you in the eye. “She’s tall, gorgeous, and has these tattoos that’ll make you want to crawl into her lap. Her voice is low and smooth, like she knows exactly what she’s doing to you. And when she looks at you? It’s game over.”
You swallowed hard, trying to ignore the sudden flutter in your stomach. “You’re overselling this.”
“Nope,” Eunji said, grinning. “Book the appointment. You’ll see.”
Tumblr media
The moment you stepped into Black Needle Studio, you understood what Eunji had meant.
Se-Mi was standing at the counter, casually flipping through a clipboard. Her fitted black tank top revealed toned arms covered in intricate tattoos, and her dark jeans clung to her figure in all the right ways. She had an aura of effortless confidence, like she owned the world and couldn’t care less if anyone knew it.
Her dark eyes lifted as you walked in, locking onto you with an intensity that made your stomach flip.
“Here for a piercing?” she asked, her voice low and smooth.
You nodded, suddenly feeling self-conscious under her gaze. “Yeah. Eyebrow piercing.”
Her lips curled into a faint smirk. “Good choice. Let’s get you set up.”
She led you to a private room, her movements fluid and purposeful. As she pulled on gloves and prepped the needle, the air between you felt charged.
“So,” she said, her voice cutting through the tension, “is this your first time?”
You shook your head. “I have a nose piercing.”
Her eyes flicked to your nose, lingering for a moment. “Looks good on you. You’ll rock the eyebrow, too.”
Your cheeks flushed under her gaze. “Thanks.”
As she cleaned and marked the area, her fingers brushed against your skin lightly, sending shivers down your spine.
“This might sting,” she said, her tone almost teasing. “Think you can handle it?”
You nodded, though your heart was pounding.
“Deep breath,” she instructed. The needle went through, and you let out a quiet whimper at the sharp pain.
“Doing okay?” she asked, her voice softer now.
“Yeah,” you said, your voice barely above a whisper.
“Good,” she said, stepping back to admire her work. “You did great.”
When she handed you the mirror, you couldn’t help but smile. The piercing was perfect, adding a boldness to your face that made you feel invincible.
“Looks amazing,” she said, her smirk returning. “You wear it well.”
Your heart fluttered at her words, and you couldn’t help but wonder if she meant more than just the piercing.
Tumblr media
That night, you couldn’t stop thinking about her. Everything about se-mi ,her confidence, her voice, the way her hands had lingered just a second longer than necessary—was etched into your mind.
You called Eunji the moment you got home.
“She’s unreal,” you said, pacing your apartment. “I mean, you said she was hot, but this is next-level. She has this presence. Like she knows exactly how to make you feel—”
“Like putty in her hands?” Eunji finished, laughing.
“Exactly!” you said, flopping onto your couch. “And her tattoos… God, Eunji, I don’t even know how I managed to form coherent sentences.”
“She sounds dangerous,” Eunji teased. “In the best way.”
You groaned. “What am I supposed to do? Just sit here and think about her all night?”
“Why not go out and celebrate?” Eunji suggested. “You look amazing with that new piercing. Let’s hit the club and show it off.”
Tumblr media
You didn’t notice your ex until it was too late. They were across the room, laughing with the same “friend” they’d sworn was platonic. Your stomach churned, but you refused to let it ruin your night.
“Forget them,” Eunji said, pulling you back onto the dance floor.
The air in the club felt heavy with anticipation as you made your way toward the bar, but the presence of your ex caught your eye before you could focus on anything else. There they were, looking carefree and laughing with their friends, completely unaware of the storm swirling inside of you. It was almost maddening how unaffected they seemed, how easily they were moving on. But you? You felt like you were drowning in a sea of emotions, and you were desperate for an escape.
The alcohol had started to do its job, loosening your inhibitions and sharpening the edge of your boldness. The red satin dress you were wearing felt like armor—sexy, confident, a reflection of someone you didn’t recognize but was beginning to like.
As you walked, the club’s lights and music seemed to blur around you. The world was spinning slightly, but in a way that was freeing. Eunji, as usual, was by your side, guiding you through the crowd, but you didn’t care about much else except the burning need to feel alive again, to remind yourself that you were in control of your own life.
“I’m going to have fun tonight,” you muttered to Eunji, your voice slightly slurred.
Eunji grinned, her eyes alight with mischief. “Hell yeah you are. You’re looking amazing tonight. Just wait until you see how everyone reacts.”
You didn’t answer, too distracted by the flashes of neon lights and the rhythmic thump of the bass, which seemed to vibrate through your entire body. Your head felt light, the alcohol mixing with the adrenaline of the night, but something else was there too—a raw, burning desire to make a statement. To make someone feel something.
You spotted your ex across the room again, standing by the bar, and something twisted inside you. You hadn’t meant to walk into this situation looking for revenge, but here you were, wanting to show them that you were doing just fine without them. You weren’t the same girl who had left their apartment a few weeks ago, broken and lost. You were someone else now—someone better.
“Let’s have some fun,” you whispered to Eunji as you let go of her hand, pulling away from the crowd.
You didn’t know where you were going, but your feet seemed to carry you across the dance floor, past groups of people grinding to the beat, the alcohol in your system making you feel bold, almost daring. You were feeling good, feeling unstoppable.
And then you saw her.
Se-Mi was sitting off to the side, casually talking to a group of her friends. She hadn’t seen you yet, but you saw her, and the sight of her made something shift deep inside you.
She was stunning.
Her dark hair cascaded over her shoulders, her lips slightly curved into a smile as she laughed. You could see the way the light caught her piercing, the coolness in her demeanor that had drawn you in the first time you saw her. Se-Mi was magnetic—impossible to ignore. You couldn’t take your eyes off her, despite the fog of alcohol clouding your thoughts.
She didn’t see you yet, didn’t notice how your breath caught in your throat. But you were done standing back.
The plan had been to show your ex that you were moving on. But now, the impulse to do something—anything—to capture attention overwhelmed you. Without even thinking about it, you sauntered closer to Se-Mi’s booth, her laugh still ringing in the air around you. She didn’t look up, too absorbed in the conversation with her friends. You had to do something.
The alcohol in your system surged, and suddenly you found yourself standing right in front of her, just a few feet away. It was like the world had disappeared, leaving only the need to be seen, to make an impression.
Without warning, you closed the space between you, stepping forward and pressing your lips against hers. The kiss was clumsy, uncoordinated. You hadn’t planned it. But in that moment, the need to feel something—anything—drove you to act.
The world seemed to stop for a moment, the noise of the club fading into the background. Se-Mi didn’t pull away, but she didn’t lean into the kiss either. When you pulled back, her dark eyes locked onto yours, filled with something you couldn’t quite decipher.
“Care to explain what that was about?” she asked, her voice low and laced with amusement.
You swallowed hard, the realization of what you’d just done crashing over you. “I… I’m sorry. I didn’t mean—”
It was over in an instant.
Your cheeks burned, and before you could say anything else, Eunji appeared, grabbing your arm. “Time to dance!” she said, pulling you toward the dance floor.
You glanced back at Se-Mi as Eunji dragged you away. She was still watching you, her expression unreadable.
The music was still pounding in your ears as you stumbled off the dance floor, the alcohol swirling inside you, making everything feel just a bit hazy. You needed to get away from the chaos, to process what had just happened. Your head was spinning—both from the alcohol and from the memory of that kiss with Se-Mi.
You found Eunji at the bar, chatting with some random guy, but when she saw the look on your face, she immediately stopped talking and raised an eyebrow.
“Hey, what’s wrong?” she asked, her voice softening as she noticed the way you were swaying slightly on your feet.
“I… I think I did something really stupid,” you mumbled, leaning against the bar for support. You swallowed thickly, the weight of what had happened crashing down on you. “I kissed Se-Mi.”
Eunji blinked, her lips parting in surprise. “What?!”
“Yeah, I don’t know what the hell I was thinking. I just… I was drunk, and I wanted to make my ex jealous, and—” you paused, exhaling shakily, “it just happened. And now I don’t know what to do.”
Eunji took a long pause, looking at you carefully. “You kissed her? Like, Se-Mi kissed you?” she repeated, trying to process it.
You nodded, your face flushed. “Yeah, it was stupid. It was impulsive. I don’t even know why I did it.”
“But…” Eunji trailed off, glancing at you, her eyes gleaming with something you couldn’t quite place. “That means you’re going back, right? You’ve already booked your second session with her.”
Your stomach churned as you thought about it. “Yeah,” you admitted, biting your lip. “I already booked the second piercing… a snake eye piercing.”
Eunji raised an eyebrow. “So… you’re telling me you kissed her, and now you have to go back to her for a piercing?”
You nodded slowly, a heavy sigh escaping your lips. “Yeah. It’s going to be so awkward. I don’t even know what to say. Like, what if she brings it up?”
Eunji’s smirk only grew wider as she took a long sip of her drink. “You know, I think this is actually perfect,” she teased, clearly enjoying the chaos unfolding in your life. “You’re going back to her. She’s the one who’s going to be awkward now, not you.”
You couldn’t help but groan at the thought of the piercing session. It wasn’t just the awkwardness that made you nervous, though. It was the way your body was still humming with the memory of that kiss. The way your lips tingled when you thought about Se-Mi. You knew it wasn’t just a drunken mistake—it was something else. Something deeper.
Tumblr media
Two days later, you found yourself standing in front of the piercing studio again, your hands trembling slightly as you reached for the door. The memory of your last visit—of Se-Mi’s steady hands and the way she had made you feel—rushed back, causing your heart to race.
You had managed to keep the details of the kiss to yourself, pushing the awkwardness aside, but now, as you entered the studio once again, you couldn’t help but feel that same tension between you and her. Would she bring it up? Would she make it awkward? You had no idea, but you were about to find out.
When you stepped into the studio, Se-Mi was there, just like last time, waiting behind the piercing counter. She looked as stunning as ever, her dark eyes sharp and confident as she gave you a small, knowing smile.
“Back again?” she said, her voice smooth and casual, as if nothing had happened. But there was something in the way her gaze lingered on you that told you she hadn’t forgotten.
You swallowed, trying to appear composed, but your voice was a little shaky. “Yeah. I… I’m here for the snake eye piercing.”
Se-Mi’s smile grew just a fraction wider, her lips curving up in a way that made your stomach flutter. “You’ve got good taste,” she said, her eyes glinting as she motioned for you to take a seat. “Ready for this?”
You nodded, but inside, you were anything but ready. The air felt thicker this time, charged with the underlying tension from your last encounter.
As you sat in the piercing chair, Se-Mi moved closer, her body leaning over you as she set everything up. The scent of her cologne mixed with the sterile smell of the studio, and you couldn’t help but notice the way her hands brushed against your skin as she prepped for the piercing.
“Okay,” she said, her voice a little softer now, a little more intimate, as she cleaned the area around your lip. “This one’s going to sting a little more than the last one.”
You nodded, your heartbeat quickening as you tried to keep your breathing steady. The proximity between you two felt intense, and the memory of that kiss—the softness of her lips, the heat of the moment—seemed to hang in the air like a shadow. You didn’t know if you should bring it up, if it was even worth mentioning. The awkwardness of the situation made it hard to think clearly.
Se-Mi’s fingers hovered over your lip, and you swore you could feel the electricity crackling between you as she looked into your eyes, her expression serious for just a moment. “You’re sure you want this?” she asked, her voice quiet, a little too soft.
You met her gaze, feeling the weight of the question, of everything that had happened between you two. For a brief second, it felt like the world around you stopped. You couldn’t deny that there was something magnetic, something dangerous in the way she was looking at you.
The silence between you and Se-Mi grew thick as you sat in the piercing chair, her hands moving with practiced precision as she prepped for your snake eye piercing. There was a strange kind of intimacy in the way she touched your skin, a closeness that sent shivers down your spine. She was so close, her body almost brushing against yours as she positioned herself in front of you, her eyes scanning your face with an intensity that made your pulse quicken.
You felt the weight of her gaze as she wiped the area around your tongue with antiseptic, her fingers gently caressing your lips as she prepared the piercing. You swallowed hard, trying to calm the nerves that suddenly fluttered in your chest, but the air in the room felt charged. It was more than just the physical closeness—there was an undeniable tension between you two, something that simmered beneath the surface, an unspoken understanding from that kiss you’d shared at the club.
Se-Mi’s voice broke through the silence, low and steady as she reassured you. “This one’s going to sting a bit more than the last one,” she said softly, her eyes flicking up to meet yours.
You nodded, but your breath caught in your throat. The words didn’t make you nervous—what really made your heart race was the way she was looking at you. There was something about the way her gaze lingered on your lips, the way her fingers gently cupped your chin as she adjusted you, that made everything inside you feel tight and electric.
“Relax,” she murmured, her tone unexpectedly soothing. “You’re going to be fine. Just breathe.”
You tried to breathe, tried to calm yourself, but your mind was still reeling from the kiss, from the memory of Se-Mi’s lips on yours, and from the way the chemistry between you two seemed to thrum louder every time you were close.
“Okay,” Se-Mi said, her fingers tracing the outline of your lip before she positioned the needle. “Stick your tongue out for me.”
You obeyed without thinking, the action feeling almost instinctual as you extended your tongue toward her. Se-Mi’s eyes locked on yours for a brief moment, her lips pressing together as she focused on the task at hand. The intimacy of the moment hit you all at once, the proximity between you both becoming almost overwhelming.
She was so close. You could feel the heat of her breath against your lips as she hovered over you, her fingertips brushing against the skin around your mouth. Every small movement felt deliberate, charged with something deeper.
The tension was unbearable.
And then, before you could fully prepare yourself, you felt the sharp sting of the needle as Se-Mi pierced your tongue. A soft whimper escaped your lips as the pain radiated through your mouth, your whole body tensing from the sudden sensation. The sharp discomfort mixed with a strange sense of pleasure, a rush that made your head spin.
Se-Mi’s eyes flickered up to meet yours immediately, her gaze intense. “It’s okay, just breathe,” she said, her voice much softer now, almost as if she was aware of the sound that had slipped from you. There was something undeniably intimate about it—the way she was so close, the way her eyes softened just slightly as she watched you.
You couldn’t help but notice the way her lips parted slightly, her focus not just on the piercing but on you—on your reactions. It was as if she was studying you, waiting for the next shift in your expression. You could feel the heat in your face, your chest tight from both the pain and the strange way her attention made you feel.
As she adjusted the needle for the second part of the piercing, you whimpered again, the pain making your body tense up. But this time, Se-Mi’s fingers brushed against your lips in a way that made your heart skip. She didn’t pull away immediately. Instead, she lingered there, as if savoring the moment.
“Almost done,” Se-Mi whispered, her voice low and unexpectedly tender.
You nodded, your tongue still extended, your body still trembling slightly from the intensity of the experience. But what lingered in your mind wasn’t just the pain—it was the way Se-Mi’s eyes had locked on yours, the way she seemed to be taking in every detail of you. It was the way her fingers had brushed against your skin, the warmth of her touch making your heart race.
Finally, after what felt like an eternity, Se-Mi finished the piercing. She slowly withdrew the needle, her fingers gently adjusting the jewelry in place. Your breathing was heavy, the pain still lingering but fading as the piercing settled.
Se-Mi moved back slightly, her gaze lingering on you for a moment longer than necessary, as if evaluating the change. There was something different in the air now, something thick and unspoken between you two. She reached for a small tissue and gently dabbed at your lips, her fingers lingering longer than necessary as she wiped away the trace of blood.
“You did great,” she said, her voice soft but with a hint of something deeper in it now, something you couldn’t quite place.
But as she looked at you, you realized it wasn’t just the piercing that had shifted between you two. It was the connection—unspoken, undeniable—that you couldn’t ignore anymore.
“Thanks,” you whispered, your voice a little shaky, still caught in the whirlwind of emotions and sensations. You couldn’t quite pinpoint what you were feeling—pain, relief, and something else entirely, something that made your pulse quicken.
Se-Mi’s gaze didn’t break from yours as she handed you a small mirror to examine the new piercing. You took it, but your hands were trembling slightly, not just from the aftereffects of the piercing but from the way Se-Mi was watching you. It was as if she could see straight through you, like she knew exactly what you were thinking, what you were feeling.
The room felt too small now, the air too thick, as Se-Mi hovered over you, the aftermath of your piercing session still lingering. Her fingers had just finished securing the jewelry in place, but it was clear that something else was hanging in the air, something more potent and undeniable. You could feel her presence radiating toward you, and the space between you two seemed to shrink with every breath you took.
Se-Mi leaned against the counter beside you, her eyes never leaving yours. You didn’t need to look at her for long to know what was coming. You had hoped she wouldn’t bring it up—but you knew she would. The kiss.
She crossed her arms over her chest, and for a moment, the dominant energy she gave off was overwhelming. There was no softness in her gaze now, no question about it—this was not the Se-Mi you had known before. This was the one who commanded attention, who knew exactly what she wanted, and she was looking right at you as though she was daring you to say something.
“About that kiss…” Se-Mi’s voice was steady, almost too calm, like she was savoring the control she had over the moment. The words hung in the air, thick with the tension that had been building between you two since the first time your lips met.
You hesitated, biting your lip as your mind raced. That kiss had been so impulsive, so reckless, but now, in this charged atmosphere, you could feel the weight of it. You could feel the heat of Se-Mi’s gaze on you, the way her presence filled the room, making it impossible for you to look away.
“You think it was just about making your ex jealous, don’t you?” she asked, her eyes narrowing slightly, as if she was reading you, seeing right through the facade. “But I don’t believe that. Not for a second.”
You swallowed hard. She was right. It hadn’t been just about your ex—it had been about something else, something deeper that you couldn’t quite name.
“I—” Your voice faltered as you tried to explain, but Se-Mi wasn’t interested in hearing any excuses.
She stepped closer, the movement deliberate, the space between you two shrinking as she towered over you. Her gaze locked onto yours, her presence commanding. There was nothing gentle in the way she looked at you now—just pure, unrelenting focus.
“You don’t have to say anything,” Se-Mi interrupted, her tone low, almost dangerous. “You kissed me because you wanted to. Don’t try to lie to yourself.” She leaned in slightly, her breath warm against your skin. “And now… I think you want something more.”
The words hit you like a jolt of electricity. You felt your pulse race, your heart hammering in your chest as your body betrayed your thoughts. You knew what she was implying, and the way she was looking at you—no, the way she was claiming you—made it impossible to ignore what was happening.
Se-Mi was right. You wanted more. You wanted her.
You opened your mouth to speak, but no words came out. All you could do was stare back at her, your body tense, your breath shallow as her proximity consumed you.
“You wanted to make him jealous, but now,” Se-Mi’s voice dropped lower, laced with dark amusement, “you’ve got me wondering if you want to make me jealous.”
Your breath caught in your throat, your lips parting slightly as you tried to process what she was saying. But Se-Mi didn’t give you a chance to respond. Instead, her hand shot out, gripping your chin with firm fingers, tilting your face upward.
“Don’t worry, I’m not mad. But I think it’s time we finish what we started.” Her tone left no room for argument. It was clear that this wasn’t a question anymore. She was in control.
Before you could react, Se-Mi pulled you forward by your chin, her lips crashing into yours in a kiss that was anything but gentle. It was demanding, hungry, and she made sure you felt every bit of it. Her tongue slid into your mouth, bold and forceful, taking control of the kiss as though she owned it—and you.
Your hands instinctively reached for her arms, your fingers digging into the muscles of her forearm as her body pressed closer. The kiss deepened, and you could feel the heat radiating off of her, her chest pressed against yours, making it impossible to ignore how badly you needed her.
Se-Mi pulled away, her lips just a hair’s breadth from yours. She stared down at you with an intensity that sent a wave of heat rushing through you. “You like this, don’t you?” she whispered, her voice thick with dominance. “You like the way I make you feel.”
You nodded instinctively, your breath ragged as your body reacted to the dominance in her voice. She was right. Every second with her felt electrified, like she was pulling at every nerve in your body, forcing you to feel everything all at once.
With a sudden, decisive movement, Se-Mi gripped your waist and spun you in the chair, forcing you to face the mirror. “Look at yourself,” she commanded, her voice low and stern. “You’re a mess, and I haven’t even started yet.”
You glanced at your reflection, seeing yourself in a new light. Your lips were swollen from the kiss, your cheeks flushed with heat, and your eyes… they held the same hunger that Se-Mi’s gaze did.
When you turned to look back at her, Se-Mi’s expression was a mix of satisfaction and something darker, something more possessive. She stepped closer again, her hands moving to your shoulders as she leaned in, her lips brushing your ear. “I’m not done with you yet.”
Your body trembled at her touch, the tension between you both unbearable. You didn’t want her to stop. You wanted more—wanted her to claim you, to make you hers completely.
And Se-Mi seemed to know exactly how to do that.
Se-Mi’s gaze sharpened, her expression hardening as she took a step back, assessing you with a look that left no room for defiance. The air between you two crackled with intensity as she stood tall, her body language exuding authority.
“Sit back down,” she commanded, her voice firm, almost cold. “I haven’t finished yet.”
Your heart skipped a beat at the force in her tone. There was no mistaking her intent. She wasn’t asking; she was telling you, and the power behind her words sent a shiver down your spine. Without thinking, you obeyed, moving quickly to sit back in the chair where she had initially positioned you, your body already betraying you with the pulse of anticipation.
Se-Mi didn’t waste any time. As soon as you were seated, she moved closer, her body encroaching upon yours in a way that felt deliberate, as though she was making sure you understood who was in control.
“Good,” she murmured, her voice laced with authority and a hint of satisfaction.
Her eyes narrowed as she watched you with an intensity that made your heart race. There was no hesitation in her movements as she shifted to her knees, her posture predatory and confident. She reached for the hem of your skirt, her fingers brushing against the fabric with purpose, her gaze never leaving yours.
“Always playing coy,” she murmured, her voice low and laced with a hint of amusement. She tugged at the fabric with a firm motion, the sudden action pulling the skirt down, leaving you exposed to her gaze. The way she looked at you made your breath hitch—there was no mistaking her control, no room left for doubt.
You couldn’t help but let out a soft gasp, the feeling of her hands so close to your skin sending a shiver down your spine. Semi leaned in just enough for you to feel her breath against your ear, the proximity causing your pulse to quicken.
“Is this what you wanted?” she whispered, her voice dripping with both challenge and satisfaction.
Se-Mi’s eyes glinted with something darker as she stood in front of you, her posture exuding dominance. She had moved with such deliberate precision, and now, with your skirt tugged down, the air between you felt charged, suffocating with the weight of her presence.
You opened your mouth, but no words came out—your breath caught in your throat as her gaze never wavered from you. The silence between you two felt thick, like something was waiting to snap.
“Fuck I’ve wanted you since I first saw you walk through that studio” her voice low and hungry.
Her lips curled into a smirk, her eyes dark with intent. She took a step closer, her movements slow, measured, and with each step, the distance between you two seemed to disappear.
“You’re not going to ignore me now, are you?” she asked, her voice low and dangerous, her eyes narrowing slightly. “Answer me.”
You stayed silent, too overwhelmed by the intensity of the moment to speak, the words locked in your throat. Your pulse quickened as she leaned in just enough for you to feel the heat of her breath against your ear.
Se-Mi’s hand shot out suddenly, gripping your chin with firm fingers, forcing you to look directly into her eyes. “I asked you a question,” she said, her voice unwavering. “You’re going to answer me, or I’ll stop right here.”
Her words hit you like a punch to the gut. The threat was clear, but it was the way she said it—the unyielding certainty in her tone—that made you freeze.
Her grip tightened slightly, a warning, and she leaned in just enough to make sure you heard her clearly. “Tell me. What do you want?”
The pressure in the air was unbearable. You swallowed hard, your thoughts a jumbled mess as you tried to process everything, but her presence, her control over the situation, left you with no choice but to answer. You couldn’t risk her stopping.
“I want you,” you breathed out, your voice barely audible, but it was enough. The words, the truth, were out in the open now.
“That’s what I like to hear.” She smiles at you , sending you through a whirlwind of emotions. You were in a daze, trying to process that this was actually happening, you? Getting fucked by this hot piercer? No way. You were caught off guard when she shoved her fingers into you.
You bite back a moan, holding your hand to your mouth
“No princess, let me hear you” she gawks as she snatches your hand away and continues thrusting her fingers into you, her cold jewellery adding to the sensation.
“S-Se-mi…” you gasp, your voice shaky.
She cuts you off, her tone sharp yet commanding. “Enough. Let me take care of you,” she says, her eyes never leaving yours. “This is what you wanted, isn’t it?” She then latches her mouth onto your clit without warning, navigating and exploring into you and she continues to scissor her fingers into you roughly.
Is that a tounge piercing?
Tears start to spill from the corners of your eyes from stimulation , it just felt too good. She looked up at you with her beautiful brown eyes, maintaining eye contact and she indulged into you.
She was so experienced. She flicked her tongue skillfully across your cunt, capturing all segments of flavour in her tongue and savouring the taste. She occasionally presses kisses into your thighs admiring all aspects of your body “you taste so sweet~” she says seductively, making you just want to jump and kiss her.
She curls her finger into you , hitting your g-spot leaving you to rip out loud moans into this echoey room.
“I’m gonna-“
“I can feel you tensing around me,cum for me princess” and upon hearing her sweet words. You came on the spot, your sticky arousal coming out and leaving a trace on the chair, on semis face and on her fingers.
She slowly licked her lips, her eyes locking onto yours. “For someone so feisty, you surprisingly taste sweet,” she remarked, her voice still calm but laced with an unmistakable edge.
You found yourself unable to meet her gaze, a flush creeping up your neck as you shyly looked away, the heat of the moment overwhelming you.
She smirked, her tone darkening just slightly. “But I’m not finished with you yet. You still owe me.”
You looked at her dumbfounded, unsure of what to do and how to please her “don’t look so confused now princess, you heard what I said so get to work.” She said feistily and all you could do was obey her.
You pull her into a hot kiss while her hands snake up to your neck, choking you lightly as she deepens the kiss, your tongues gliding across each other in a messy manner. This kiss was fully of urgency, something dark. Your new piercing in your mouth arousing her.
You then go down caressing her body and leaving occasional pecks to place such as her collarbone and side. You stare at her body for a second, staring in anticipation , you’d never done this to a girl before. “what are you waiting for?” Semi bellowed commandingly. You decide to just do what you possibly can and rip the jeans that once adorned her legs off.
You move through the layer and finally meet with her cunt. You place little kitten licks on her cunt which cause little whimpers to leave her mouth, you eventually start using longer tongue movements and suck on her clit just like she did to you and teasingly bite her clit which makes her even louder than before “you wanted me to do this aswell right?” You say teasingly and seductively “just shut up” she says, biting back moans to not let her nonchalant image crumble. Her hips buck into your mouth and she fists your hair from behind, harshly dragging it to her clit as she reaches down to grope your tits.
Her breath came in quick, uneven gasps, her hands gripping you tightly as the tension in the air she rode out her high . Her body trembled slightly, her eyes closing as she let out a soft moan of satisfaction. The intensity of the moment lingered between you two, a shared, unspoken understanding that filled the room with heat.
“So beautiful,” she whispered, her voice low and full of admiration. Her gaze softened as she held you, her hands gently guiding you closer as you collapsed against her, the warmth of her body wrapping around you in the aftermath.
After the intensity of the moment, the atmosphere between you and her softened. There was a quiet stillness in the room now, the heavy air of the moment slowly dissipating. Semi, still a bit breathless, reached for a nearby towel, her movements smooth and deliberate.
Without a word, she gently wiped you down, her touch careful as she made sure you were comfortable. Her eyes flickered to yours, a silent understanding between you two as she continued. There was something soothing about her actions, an unspoken tenderness in the way she moved.
Once she finished with you, Se-Mi stood, her posture still commanding, yet there was a softness in her expression. She handed you a fresh towel, her lips curving into a small smile. “You okay?” she asked, her voice quieter now, but no less genuine.
You nodded, feeling the weight of the moment settle between you two. The act of cleaning up was simple, but it carried with it a sense of care and connection, as if it was a small but important gesture after the intensity you had just shared.
The next morning, you sat at a café with Eunji, trying to act like everything was normal. But inside, you were anything but. You kept replaying the events of the night before, the way Se-Mi’s gaze had held yours, the unexpected intensity of everything that happened. You couldn’t shake the feeling that something had shifted between you two, something that felt too big to ignore.
“So, what happened after the piercing?” Eunji asked, clearly curious. She leaned in, eager to hear every detail, her eyes wide with anticipation.
You hesitated, unsure of how to explain what you were feeling without giving too much away. You hadn’t even fully processed everything yourself. “It was… intense,” you said, trying to sound casual. “Like, she made everything feel… so real. I don’t know how else to explain it.”
Eunji raised an eyebrow. “Real how? What do you mean?”
You paused, thinking about how to put it into words. The pull between you and Se-Mi was undeniable, but how could you explain that to your best friend without sounding completely ridiculous? “It was like… like she knew exactly what she was doing. Like she was in control, but in this way that made me feel… I don’t know, completely drawn to her.”
Eunji smiled knowingly. “Ah, I get it. You’re into her, huh?”
You sighed, nodding reluctantly. “I think I am. But I don’t know what to do about it. Everything’s so… confusing. And last night—well, it was a lot.”
Before you could say anything more, your phone buzzed on the table, breaking the moment. You glanced down, surprised to see an unknown number flashing on the screen. You hadn’t recognized the number, but there was something about it that made your stomach drop.
Eunji didn’t seem to notice, busy stirring her coffee, so you quickly unlocked your phone. A message from the unknown number appeared, and your heart raced as you opened it.
It was a video. Your mind was still spinning as you hit play, and the first few moments made your heart skip. It was a clip from the night before—your time at the piercing studio. You watched in stunned silence as the video played out, the intimate moments between you and Se-Mi playing in front of your eyes. Her gaze, the closeness, the way she’d touched you, it was all so vivid and real again.
The message beneath the video made everything feel too raw, too real.
Hey, it’s Se-Mi. I’m sorry, but you just looked too cute here.
Your breath caught in your throat, your heart pounding in your chest as the weight of what you were seeing hit you. You stared at the screen, your mind racing, unsure of how to process what you were looking at. Your phone felt like it was burning in your hands, the uncertainty of the situation making it even more intense. You had to know what Se-Mi meant, what was going on, but there was no way to ask just yet.

Jealousy
Just some good old Jealousy trope! This was something I found in my drafts from a while ago so not my best work but I hope you enjoy! ❤️
For more check my masterlist
Your team had just managed to make it through to the next round of games. Whether it was sheer luck or divine intervention, you did it. Sae-Byeok held your hand tightly as she couldn't handle the fact her long-term partner was almost killed in front of her very eyes. Luckily for her and you, number 289 a blonde girl with Sharp features who you had invited onto the team had saved your life. The speed at which it all happened left you stunned and on shaky legs. Luckily your girlfriend Sae-Byeok was able to walk you out of the arena as you didn't feel you had the strength to do so anymore.
The gunshots ring out behind you as the team you had just eliminated is sent to their deadly maker. "That could have been us," you weakly call out to no one in particular, your mind didn't even take in who had taken your hand as you were still in a daze. A voice from behind you rang through all the buzzing going around in your brain. "You did great, we couldn't have won that round without you." The blonde who saved your life says in a cheery voice. Looking back at the game itself you can't even remember a single thing you did, Sae-Byeok took on most of the hard work for you. She was doing everything in her power to make sure you got over the line, once again showing the loyalty and love she has for you.
After making it back to the Main Hall with the bunk beds lined up the piggy bank above your head fills with the cash of the fallen. The mountain of money gets bigger and you realise that your and Sae-Byeok's dream of getting her family back together under one roof is finally in sight. The blonde from before took a seat next to you and your girlfriend. "That's a lot of money, I hope it is enough to get me out of debt" you hear a person behind you say as the multiple groups speak among themselves. It was all becoming tribalistic now, the groups were getting smaller and less trustworthy, you had the stance of making as many friends as possible but your girlfriend didn't trust easily, and she certainly didn't trust any of the low lives and criminals she was sharing this space with.
The Blonde girl rubbed your shoulder and asked how you were doing which had gotten Sae-Byeok gritting her teeth in anger but she bit down on her tongue and let it slide given that this same girl had just saved you. But the squeeze on your hand became painfully tight leading you to yelp out in pain which snaps her out of her thoughts instantly. “I’ll be back in a second,” Sae-Byeok says before making her way to the women’s restroom. She checked herself in the mirror as she cleared away the specs of blood on her face before a familiar blonde girl appeared next to her. “You’re a very lucky person.” She says as she washes her hands in the same faucet Sae-Byeok was using. “What?” Sae-Byeok responds with confusion on her face and voice.
“I would do anything to make that mine…. Watch your back because I’m coming for what is yours.” The blonde girl says all the while giving your girlfriend a cheeky smile as she starts to pace back to your position. Upon Sae-Byeok's return the after-game snacks and drinks were being served to the remaining contestants as your partner scanned the room for your existence she spotted you in a crowd, still able to pick you out of the many around you. But then she witnesses the same blonde making you laugh. She balled her hand into a fist and started storming her way to your location, she pushed the blonde out of the way and took hold of your waist while planting a kiss on your cheek. “Are you okay?” She asks with genuine concern as she studies your features. “I’m okay,,, can’t say the same for the poor girl you just threw to the floor” you respond in amusement. You knew exactly what was going on, it happened far too many times outside the games…. She was getting Jealous.
“She said she wanted what is mine…. I’ll never let that happen.” Sae-Byeok spits with venom laced in her voice at the thought of this bitch taking her pride and joy. You pull her face to while cupping her cheek to be nose to nose with her. Lips brushing close together. “Does she know that I’m owned by you? If not you should show her.” You say seductively to Sae-Byeok knowing that would perk her up, you knew she loved nothing more than making it clear who you belonged to. She takes your bottom lip between her teeth and bites down slightly, producing small moans from you that no one seems to notice except for the one pair of eyes Sae-Byeok was hoping was seeing all of this. She kissed you deeply, her tongue mingling with yours in a dance for dominance which she easily wins. You take your position as the bottom very seriously knowing it pleased Sae-Byeok beyond belief to know you were fully committed to her. As the kiss breaks apart you decide to calm her mind completely.
“I’m yours, you have nothing to worry about…. I think you should remind me of that in the restroom.” You say as you take her hand and quickly make your way to enjoy a jealousy-fueled session you are sure to remember………

the sound of your ragged breaths echoed through the elevator, mingling with the distant cries and screams from other players. your hands were trembling, your body still buzzing with adrenaline after the brutal tug of war game.
you couldn’t get the image of your opponents falling to their deaths out of your mind. it played on a loop, their shocked faces, their frantic grasps at nothingness, and then… gone.
you were alive, but at what cost?
the door to the floor you shared with the other contestants creaked opened, and you stumbled in, barely registering the dim light and oppressive atmosphere of the room. people were scattered about, some nursing injuries, others staring into the distance.
it was silent except for the occasional cough or shuffle. the games were breaking everyone, piece by piece.
“hey,” a familiar voice called softly.
you turned to see sae-byeok standing a few feet away. she looked as battered as you felt, her usually sharp eyes shadowed with exhaustion, her lips pressed into a hard line. despite her tough exterior, there was something in her eyes that made your chest tighten.
concern, maybe even care. it was rare to see her like this. as she always carried herself with an air of detachment.
“you okay?” she asked, taking a cautious step closer.
you opened your mouth to respond, but no words came out. instead, a choked sob escaped, and you immediately clamped a hand over your mouth, embarrassed by your display of weakness.
her eyes softened, and before you could crumble completely, she was by your side, her steady hands guiding you to sit down against the wall.
“breathe,” she said firmly, crouching in front of you. “you need to breathe, okay?”
you nodded shakily, trying to match the rhythm of her breaths as she demonstrated for you. slowly, the tightness in your chest began to ease, though your hands still trembled in your lap.
she noticed and reached out, hesitating for just a moment before taking your hands in hers. her grip was firm, grounding, and you clung to it.
“it’s not easy,” she said quietly, her voice carrying an edge of bitterness. “none of this is. but you did what you had to. we all did.”
you looked up at her, tears blurring your vision. “i… i didn’t want to do it. they were just like us. they didn’t deserve to die.”
“neither do you,” she replied without hesitation. her words were blunt, but there was no mistaking the conviction behind them. “you’re still here because you fought for your life. you have to hold onto that. otherwise, this place will eat you alive.”
her words struck a chord, and for the first time since the game ended, you felt a flicker of strength amongst all of the guilt and fear. you tightened your grip on her hands, drawing comfort from her presence.
sae-byeok wasn’t one to mince words or offer hollow platitudes, but the honesty in her voice was enough to anchor you.
“why are you helping me?” you asked after a moment, your voice barely audible.
her lips twitched into the faintest hint of a smile. “because you need it. and because…” she trailed off, her gaze flickering away for a moment before returning to yours. “you remind me of someone.”
“thank you,” you murmured, squeezing her hands lightly. “i don’t think i could get through this without you.”
sae-byeok’s expression softened further, and for a moment, the harshness of the games faded into the background. “you’re stronger than you think,” she said. “but it’s okay to lean on someone else sometimes.”
the two of you sat there in silence for a while, her presence a balm to your frayed nerves. she didn’t let go of your hands, and you didn’t ask her to. it was a small comfort, but in a place as cold and unforgiving as this, it meant everything.
eventually, sae-byeok shifted, leaning back against the wall beside you. she stretched her legs out in front of her, her shoulders brushing yours. “try to get some rest,” she said. “we don’t know what’s coming next, but you’ll need your strength.”
you nodded, resting your head against the wall and letting your eyes drift shut. despite the tension in the air, the warmth of her shoulder against yours made you feel a little less alone.
for the first time in a long time, you allowed yourself to relax.

synopsis sae-byeok and cheol plan to pull off the perfect proposal.

Tumblr media
𝐅𝐎𝐑 𝐓𝐇𝐄 past week, Sae-byeok had been acting… different. It wasn’t her usual quiet intensity, that calm, razor-sharp focus she wore like armor. No, this was something else entirely. Her edges, once so defined and steady, seemed to blur, like a blade dulled just enough to lose its edge. Her sharp, composed demeanor had softened in ways you couldn’t quite name, leaving behind a restless energy that didn’t belong to her.
You first noticed it when she began fidgeting—a habit so foreign to her that it nearly startled you. She’d tap her fingers rhythmically against the counter, the soft drumming barely audible but endlessly distracting. At other times, she’d pull at the hem of her shirt, twisting it between her fingers as if she was trying to ground herself. Her eyes, usually steady and direct, had developed a habit of darting around the room, like her thoughts were too restless to stay in one place.
Once in the middle of the night, you’d caught her pacing in the living room, something you’d never seen her do. She moved back and forth in measured steps like a pendulum, her brow creased with such fierce concentration that you almost didn’t want to interrupt. The sight was so strange it nearly made you laugh—until you saw the tightness in her jaw, the way her lips pressed into a thin, troubled line. Whatever was running through her mind, it wasn’t something trivial.
“Are you okay?” you asked tentatively from the doorway, watching her movements still like she’d been caught in the act of something secret.
She turned to you, and for a split second, her expression softened, as if the weight she carried had been lifted by the sound of your voice. But then she shook her head, flashing you one of those small, practiced smiles that didn’t quite reach her eyes. “I’m fine,” she said, her voice steady but betraying the pursuit of the storm you’d glimpsed moments before.
But you weren't convinced. Her smile didn't reach her eyes, and her shoulders remained tense, like she was bracing herself for something. You didn't push her—knowing Sae-byeok wasn't the type to open up easily, and you didn't want to force her—but as the days passed, the distance between you began to grow.
At night, when you lay beside her, you'd stare at the ceiling, your thoughts racing at a speed you couldn't fathom.
Had you done something wrong? Had something changed between you? The idea clawed at your mind, a quiet, insidious voice whispering that maybe she didn't want to be here anymore. Maybe she wanted to leave.
The possibility terrified you. You tried to ignore it, to push it away and tell yourself you were overthinking. But every time you caught her fidgeting, every time she hesitated to touch you, every time her eyes darted away when you looked at her, the doubt crept back in. A hopeless feeling clawing at your insides as you started to feel the reprieve of your relationship—almost as if time rewinded and you had become the same girl in highschool taking baby steps to try and bring Sae-byeok out of her shell. You'd ask her if she was okay, and every time she'd give you the Same answer—a small practiced smile, paired with a steady "I'm fine."
But she wasn't fine. You could see it. Feel it.
And yet, you couldn't figure out what it was.
It reminded you of the moments before a storm, when the air itself feels alive. You could sense it, that crackling energy just beneath the surface, as if the universe were holding its breath before the first flash of lightning split the sky. And at the center of it all was Sae-byeok, holding a secret so tightly that it seemed to weigh down her every movement.
You wanted to ask her, to reach out and demand to know what was wrong, but something in her eyes stopped you every time. They weren’t distant, exactly. If anything, they felt too close, like she was looking at you with a depth of emotion that threatened to spill over at any moment. It wasn’t sadness, or even fear—it was something far more complicated, something you couldn't quite understand.
So you waited. You gave her space, trusting that when she was ready, she’d let you in. But even as you told yourself that, you couldn’t shake the sense that something big was coming. Something that would change everything, for better or for worse.
The truth was, Sae-byeok did have a secret—one she wasn’t ready to share with you yet. She had won the games. Victory, if you could even call it that, had come at an unbearable cost. The horrors she had endured haunted her in the quiet hours of the night, creeping in like shadows that refused to stay hidden. She carried the weight of it all silently, the memories an ever-present ache in the corners of her mind.
But amidst the darkness, there was something else: hope. The prize money, blood-stained as it was, had given her something she hadn’t dared to believe in—a chance. A chance to rebuild, to create a life not just for her and Cheol but for you, the person who had been her anchor when everything around her had fallen apart. You had been the light she clung to, the reason she kept putting one foot in front of the other when everything seemed hopeless. And now, with the means to finally give you the life you deserved, she was determined to take the next step.
It was why, one crisp morning while you were at work, Sae-byeok turned to the only other person she could trust—Cheol. The two of them sat in the cramped but cozy apartment you all shared, the sunlight streaming through the window in golden patches. Sae-byeok fidgeted with her hands, her fingers tightening and loosening around each other as she tried to find the right words. For someone who could stand unwavering in the face of life-or-death stakes, this moment felt impossibly daunting.
Finally, she took a deep breath and blurted it out. “I’m going to propose.”
Cheol froze mid-bite of his breakfast, his wide eyes snapping to her face. “You’re really going to marry her?” he asked, his voice teetering on the edge of disbelief before quickly shifting into pure, uncontainable excitement.
Sae-byeok’s ears burned with the heat of her blush, but she nodded, her lips curving into a small, almost shy smile. “Yeah,” she said, her voice soft but steady. Saying the words aloud made her chest tighten and her heart race, the weight of the moment settling over her. It felt real now—terrifyingly, thrillingly real.
Cheol’s reaction was immediate and electric. He practically exploded out of his chair, his grin so wide it seemed like it might split his face in two. “This is amazing!” he exclaimed, his excitement bubbling over as he bounced on the balls of his feet. “Do you have a ring? When are you going to do it? Can I help? Please tell me I can help!” The questions spilled from him in a rapid-fire stream, his youthful energy contagious.
Sae-byeok couldn’t help but laugh, the sound light and genuine in a way it hadn’t been in so long. His enthusiasm eased some of the tension that had been coiled tight in her chest all week. “I’m picking out the ring today,” she told him, her smile softening as she leaned forward slightly. “And yes, you can help. But you have to promise me—no hints, no clues. You can’t say a single word to her. Not one.”
Cheol straightened like a soldier receiving orders, his small hands balling into determined fists at his sides. “I won’t say anything! I swear!” he said earnestly, his eyes wide with sincerity. “Not a single word!”
The sight of his resolve made Sae-byeok chuckle again, her lips twitching with amusement despite herself. “Good,” she said, reaching out to ruffle his hair gently. “Because if you do, I’ll know.”
Cheol’s face lit up with excitement, and he immediately started rattling off ideas, his words tumbling over each other in a blur of enthusiasm. Sae-byeok listened with a fond smile, her nerves easing just a bit more. As they talked, something warm unfurled in her chest—a flicker of hope she hadn’t allowed herself to feel in far too long.
Cheol was practically vibrating with energy, his enthusiasm spilling out in a flurry of ideas. “What if you propose at her favorite spot?” he suggested, his eyes wide with inspiration. “Oh! Or maybe you can cook her a fancy dinner at home first—like a whole three-course thingy!” He paused, frowning as he added, “Well, okay, maybe I should help with that part. You’re not really a good cook, Noona.”
Sae-byeok snorted, rolling her eyes, but the corners of her lips twitched upward in a reluctant smile. “Thanks for the vote of confidence,” she said dryly, but her tone was light, even playful—a stark contrast to her usual guarded demeanor.
As the conversation continued, something began to shift inside her. With each new idea Cheol threw out, with every little plan they sketched together, a warmth she hadn’t felt in years began to take root. It was a quiet, fragile thing at first, like the faint glow of a candle in a dark room. But as the minutes ticked by, it grew stronger, brighter, filling her chest with a sensation she could barely recognize.
It was hope.
Hope had been a stranger to Sae-byeok for so long. Life had taught her to survive, not to dream, and she’d long since learned not to look too far ahead. The future had always felt distant and unreachable, like a mirage shimmering just out of grasp. But now, as she imagined slipping a ring onto your finger, as she pictured the look on your face when she asked you to be hers forever, the future felt closer. It wasn’t some vague, impossible dream that kept her up at night as the glow of the prize money remained her only light source and the smell of iron infiltrated her nose—it was something real, something she could hold in her hands.
Her gaze drifted to Cheol, who was grinning at her with an expression so full of excitement and love that it almost made her chest ache. He deserved this, too—a life where he could be a kid again, where he didn’t have to carry the weight of things no child should ever bear. And then her thoughts circled back to you, the one constant in her life who had shown her kindness even when she had nothing to offer in return.
It was you who had stayed by her side through everything, who had seen her pain and never turned away. You had given her a reason to believe, a reason to fight, even when she didn’t think she had it in her anymore. And now, here she was, planning a future with you—a future that entailed the three of you as a family.
When the day finally arrived, Sae-byeok woke before the first light of dawn, her nerves a live wire buzzing beneath her skin. She lay still for a moment, staring at the ceiling and trying to steady her breathing. Her mind replayed the words she had rehearsed countless times, but now, they felt heavier, more daunting. You were curled against her, your head resting on her shoulder, one hand splayed across her chest as though you couldn’t bear to let go of her even in the midst of sleep.
Your warmth against her side was comforting, grounding. It was mornings like this that reminded her of how far she’d come—of everything she had fought for. You were her safe place, the calm in the chaos, and today, she was going to make sure you knew that.
Finally, unable to resist the pull of her own thoughts, she turned her head to look at you. Her hand reached out, brushing a stray strand of hair from your face, her touch impossibly gentle. You stirred slightly, murmuring something incoherent, but didn’t wake. A soft smile tugged at her lips as she leaned in, pressing a feather-light kiss to your temple.
“Good morning,” she whispered, her voice barely audible, more to herself than to you.
You looked so peaceful in the soft glow of the morning light. Blinking awake slowly, your eyelids heavy with sleep. Once your gaze met hers, a small, sleepy smile curved your lips. “Morning,” you mumbled, your voice still thick with grogginess.
For a moment, the two of you simply stayed like that, your bodies tangled beneath the covers, the world outside still quiet and untouched by the bustle of the day. Sae-byeok’s hand found yours, her fingers intertwining with yours under the blanket.
“You’re up early,” you remarked softly, nuzzling closer to her.
“I couldn’t sleep,” she admitted, her thumb brushing over the back of your hand. For a moment, Sae-byeok hesitated, as though she wanted to say more, but instead, she shifted slightly, propping herself up on one elbow. “I thought we could do something today. Just the two of us—and Cheol. Maybe breakfast?”
Your eyes blinked open slowly, still wrapped in the haze of sleep, you gave her a drowsy, lopsided smile. “Breakfast?” you murmured, your voice thick with grogginess.
You raised an eyebrow, still half-asleep but intrigued. “What’s the occasion?”
She hesitated, her gaze flickering away for the briefest of moments before settling back on you. “No occasion,” she said, her voice soft but steady. “I just… wanted to spend the day with you.”
There was something in her tone, a quiet vulnerability that made your chest tighten. You didn’t press her, though. Instead, you smiled, your hand reaching up to cup her cheek. “Okay,” you said simply, your thumb brushing over her skin. “Let’s do it.”
Relieved, Sae-byeok leaned down to press another kiss to your forehead before slipping out of bed. “Come on,” she said softly, her lips curving into a gentle smile as she held out her hand to help you up. “I’ll help you get ready.”
You allowed her to pull you upright, still half-asleep but already warmed by the tenderness in her touch. Sae-byeok hadn’t been as openly affectionate as of recent—so, her sudden declarations of tenderness made you feel that something special was waiting just ahead.
In the bedroom, Sae-byeok opened your shared closet, her brow furrowed in thought. “Wear this,” she said finally, pulling out an outfit she loved to see on you—a soft knit cardigan and her favorite dress to see you in. “It’s comfortable but cute.”
You chuckled as you took it from her hands. “You’re picking out my clothes now?”
She shrugged, but the faint pink on her cheeks betrayed her flustered pride. “I just want you to feel comfortable,” she mumbled, turning her attention to picking her own outfit.
Before long, the two of you were helping each other get dressed. Sae-byeok smoothing out the small wrinkles in your dress and buttoning the ends of your cardigan with meticulous care, her hands lingering just a second longer than necessary. You teased her lightly about her perfectionism, but she only responded with a quiet smile, smoothing her hands down your arms before placing a gentle smack on your butt, “Can you make sure Cheol’s getting ready?” She softly asked, a smirk still tugging on her lips at your sudden flustered demeanor. You nodded, biting back a grin as you left your shared bedroom. A quiet “Thank you, pretty,” being heard as you made your way into the living room.
You found Cheol waiting by the front door, his excitement practically radiating off him as he bounced on his toes. The second he saw you, his face lit up. “Finally! I’ve been waiting forever. Let’s go—I’m starving!” he exclaimed, his voice filled with dramatic urgency that made you laugh.
Before you could say a word, Sae-byeok appeared behind you, her presence calm yet unshakable as always. The moment Cheol spotted her, his energy doubled. He grabbed both of your hands, practically dragging you toward the car once you put your shoes on. “Come on, slowpokes!” he urged, skipping ahead with a grin so wide it was infectious.
Cheol’s enthusiasm was like a small tornado, pulling you and Sae-byeok along as he bounced down the path. You could feel Sae-byeok’s soft chuckle against your shoulder as her arm looped around your waist, holding you close as you followed behind him. Her fingers gently pressed into your side, her touch grounding even amid Cheol’s whirlwind excitement.
“He’s gonna eat the whole menu at this rate,” you joked, glancing up at her.
“Wouldn’t be the first time,” she murmured, a faint smile tugging at her lips. The two of you shared a quiet laugh, her warmth pressed against you as Cheol skipped ahead, already chattering about what he was going to order.
The little café Sae-byeok had chosen was a charming spot tucked into a quiet corner of town. Morning light poured in through the windows, casting everything in warm, golden hues. The smell of fresh coffee and buttery pastries filled the air, and the soft hum of conversation made the space feel cozy and alive.
You slid into a booth by the window, stretching lazily as Sae-byeok sat across from you. Cheol plopped down beside her, his energy practically vibrating off of the seat as Sae-byeok sat quietly, fiddling with the edges of the menu to keep her hands busy.
“Do you want pancakes?” she asked suddenly, catching you off guard as you browsed the menu.
“I was thinking of getting an omelet,” you replied with a smile.
“Get pancakes too,” she urged softly, her gaze warm. “You deserve a treat—plus, you won't get full just off one omelet.”
You raised an eyebrow, amused by her unusually doting tone. “You’re really spoiling me today,” you teased.
Sae-byeok didn’t respond right away, her lips twitching in a small smile as she reached across the table to take your hand in hers. Her thumb brushed over your knuckles absentmindedly, a gesture so tender it made your chest tighten.
When the food arrived, Sae-byeok was quick to cut your pancakes into neat pieces, nudging the plate toward you before you could protest. “Here,” she said, her tone nonchalant, though her cheeks were faintly pink.
“You’re being awfully sweet,” you said, your voice teasing but soft.
She shrugged, avoiding your gaze. “You’re worth it,” she said simply.
Meanwhile, Cheol was trying—and failing—to hide his growing excitement. His legs swung under the table, and every few minutes, he’d glance at Sae-byeok with a grin that only grew wider as time went on. Further into the breakfast, she started to bounce her knee nervously under the table, her growing tension palpable.
Cheol, noticing, slightly leaning over to place his small hand firmly on her knee, whispering, “You’re gonna shake the table apart.”
Sae-byeok shot him a sharp look, but there was no real heat in it. Instead, she exhaled a slow breath and stilled her leg, muttering a quiet, “Thanks.”
As the meal went on, you couldn’t help but feel like there was something unspoken between the two of them. Sae-byeok kept casting you quick, almost shy glances, and Cheol seemed ready to burst with excitement. Still, whatever it was, they weren’t ready to share it just yet.
“Everything okay?” you asked Sae-byeok at one point, tilting your head curiously.
“Of course,” she said quickly, her voice steady, though her gaze lingered on your joined hands. “Just… thinking,” She murmured, her thumb softly grazing over your ring finger as if she was stuck in a daze.
Cheol snickered beside her, breaking her from her trance as she subtly elbowed him in the arm, Cheol’s grin only grew wider at the flush of Sae-Byeok’s cheeks.
The café hummed softly around you, the sunlight catching the edges of Sae-byeok’s dark hair as she smiled at you—small but genuine.
After breakfast, the three of you stepped out into the crisp morning air, the golden sunlight casting a soft glow over the quiet street. Sae-byeok lingered for a moment, her gaze shifting between you and the little shops nearby. There was something unusually tender in her expression as she turned to you, slipping her arm over your shoulder with an effortless familiarity.
“I was thinking,” she began, her voice quieter than usual. Her other hand slid into the pocket of her jeans, her fingers brushing the smooth velvet box hidden there. “You’ve been working so hard lately. You deserve a break.”
“A break?” you echoed, tilting your head in mild suspicion.
She nodded, motioning subtly toward a cozy nail salon just a few doors down. “Yeah. Go pick out a color you like,” she said, her lips curving into a rare, soft smile. “I already booked you an appointment.”
You blinked, caught off guard by the gesture. “You booked me an appointment?” you asked, the corners of your mouth lifting in a playful smile. “Are you sure there’s no special occasion?”
“No occasion,” she replied quickly—too quickly. Her arm gave a gentle squeeze around your shoulder as she nudged you toward the salon door. “Just thought you deserved something nice. Relax, enjoy yourself.”
Your curiosity deepened, but the sincerity in her eyes made your suspicion melt away. “This is… really sweet,” you murmured, your gaze lingering on her as if searching for some hidden clue.
Sae-byeok’s smile flickered for just a moment, her fingers still absentmindedly fiddling with the secret tucked in her pocket. “Just go,” she urged softly, her voice tinged with a nervous edge she couldn’t quite hide.
Before you could ask anything else, Cheol chimed in, practically bouncing on his toes. “Yeah, yeah, relax already! We’ll come back and get you after!”
Laughing softly, you gave Sae-byeok’s hand a squeeze before stepping inside. The warmth of the salon embraced you, the gentle hum of dryers and the faint, clean scent of nail polish instantly soothing your senses. As you sank into the plush chair, letting the world outside fade, your worried thoughts on why Sae-byeok had been so insistent—and so nervous, slowly drifted off as you succumbed to the warmth of the shop.
Meanwhile, Sae-byeok and Cheol were far from calm. The two of them wove through the bustling streets, the morning air alive with chatter and the occasional scent of roasted coffee from nearby vendors. Cheol, overflowed with energy, darting from shop to shop like an excited puppy. “Okay, what about—flowers! What kind does she like again, Noona? Oh! Should we get candles? Ohh, we need music, Noona—do you have a playlist?”
“Cheol,” Sae-byeok said, her voice low but steady, though a faint smile tugged at her lips. “It’s a proposal, not a wedding.”
Cheol spun on his heel to face her, arms thrown dramatically into the air. “Exactly! It’s the proposal! It has to be perfect!” His eyes gleamed with excitement, and for a moment, Sae-byeok wondered if he might actually combust from sheer enthusiasm.
His excitement was impossible to resist. Despite the knots in her stomach and the constant buzz of nerves just beneath her skin, Sae-byeok found herself laughing softly, shaking her head as she let him pull her into yet another store.
It was easier to focus on Cheol’s relentless chatter than to think too much about what was coming. Yet, no matter how much she tried to keep herself grounded, her mind kept wandering back to you. Her hands felt clammy, and every time the image of you—standing on the beach, looking at her with those eyes that always seemed to see right through her—flickered into her thoughts, her heart pounded so hard it felt like it might bruise her ribs.
Cheol interrupted her spiral with another wild idea, dragging her toward a display of fairy lights. “What if we set these up somewhere? Oh, or maybe we could put them in a jar—I saw my teacher do it one time.”
Sae-byeok sighed, though her voice held no real edge as she replied, “We’re not decorating for a festival, Cheol. It’s just… simple, okay?”
But he only grinned, unbothered by her attempt to rein him in. “Simple doesn’t mean boring! Come onnnn, a little extra never hurt anyone.”
Sae-byeok let out a breath, shaking her head again as a faint blush crept up her cheeks.
Cheol’s boundless optimism had a way of chipping through her stoic exterior, loosening the tension that had been coiling tighter with every passing hour. Still, the weight of the day pressed down on her, no matter how much she tried to let herself get swept up in his enthusiasm.
As they moved through another aisle, Sae-byeok’s fingers brushed against the velvet box hidden in her pocket. It was small, but it carried so much—the weight of her emotions, her fears, her hopes for the future. She pressed her thumb against the edge of the box, grounding herself in the reality of what she was about to do.
Cheol caught the movement and nudged her with his elbow, his grin softer this time. “Nervous, Noona?”
Sae-byeok shot him a sideways glance. “What do you think?”
“It’s okay,” he said, his tone unusually serious. “I don’t think you have to be…She loves you like mommy loved daddy…Which means she’s gonna say yes, I know it.”
His words struck something deep within her, and for a moment, she paused, her gaze drifting to the bustling street outside the shop window. You loved her—she knew that. But there was still that small, gnawing voice in the back of her mind that whispered doubts, planted seeds of what-ifs. What if she wasn’t enough? What if this moment wasn’t perfect enough, or her words stumbled, or—
Cheol grabbed her arm, yanking her back into the present. “Noona,” he said, his voice softer now. “This is gonna be a piece of cake, don’t worry…” He assured her, his hand falling from her arm to squeeze her hand.
She let out a shaky breath, nodding. “You’re right,” she said, her voice barely above a whisper.
“I know.” Cheol grinned, holding up a small jar of the fairy lights he’d been obsessing over. “Now, please can we get these and go back. You’ve got a proposal to crush, and I've got to make a beach look really romantic.”
Sae-byeok couldn’t help the small laugh that escaped her. With Cheol at her side, the moment felt a little less daunting, a little more real. As they stepped out of the store, the late afternoon sunlight warming their faces as she tightened her grip on the box in her pocket.
By the time Sae-byeok and Cheol returned to pick you up, the sun was beginning its slow descent, draping the city in warm, golden light. Long rays danced across the car’s hood, catching the edges of Sae-byeok’s face as she stepped out, her expression unreadable but laced with an undeniable tension. She opened your door for you, her lips curling into a faint smile as her dark eyes met yours.
“I have one more place I want to take you,” she said softly, her voice low and steady but carrying a note of something deeper—something that made your heart skip a beat.
Her gaze lingered on yours, as if she were trying to convey something words couldn’t quite reach. The vulnerability hidden in those sharp, steady eyes sent a shiver down your spine, leaving you both curious and a little breathless. You nodded, your trust in her outweighing the rising questions in your mind.
Once inside the car, Sae-byeok slid into the driver’s seat, her movements purposeful but tinged with a subtle nervousness. Her left hand gripped the steering wheel tightly, her knuckles pale, while her right hand found its way to your thigh. The warmth of her palm was grounding, her thumb brushing soft, absentminded strokes against the fabric of your dress. Cheol sat in the back, practically buzzing with energy.
He fidgeted endlessly, unable to sit still as his grin stretched so wide it seemed to consume his whole face. Every now and then, you caught his eyes flicking to the rearview mirror, the glimmer of excitement in them barely concealed. You raised a questioning brow at him, but he only shrugged and looked out the window, his lips twitching with suppressed laughter.
The drive was quiet, filled only with the soft hum of the engine and the faint sound of a radio station playing in the background. Sae-byeok’s focus remained on the road ahead, her thumb tapping lightly against the wheel in a rhythm that didn’t match the music. The tension in her posture was palpable, her jaw set but her brows pinched ever so slightly.
Your gaze shifted to the passing scenery, though you couldn’t shake the gnawing feeling in your chest. The quiet between you wasn’t uncomfortable, but it was heavy, charged with an energy that made you grip the seatbelt a little tighter.
When the car finally rolled to a stop, your breath caught in your throat. The sight before you stole the words from your lips.
The beach stretched out like a serene, untouched canvas, the sand glimmering faintly in the waning light. Waves rolled lazily to shore, their soft, rhythmic crashes the only sound against the hush of the evening. The sun hung low, spilling streaks of amber, rose, and lavender across the horizon, the colors blending seamlessly into the gentle sky. Its reflection danced on the waves, glimmering like molten gold scattered across the water.
When the car rolled to a stop near the edge of the beach parking lot, Sae-byeok turned off the engine and exhaled slowly, her hand still resting on your thigh. She glanced at you, her lips twitching into a soft, almost shy smile before she looked away.
“We’ll be right back,” she said, her voice calm but carrying an edge of nervousness. “Stay here for a little bit.”
Your brows furrowed in curiosity. “Where are you going?”
Cheol piped up before Sae-byeok could answer, his grin as wide as ever. “We need to check something out really quick. Don’t worry, no secrets!” he said, his tone overly casual, though the excitement dancing in his eyes was anything but subtle.
You gave Sae-byeok a skeptical look, but she just smiled softly and squeezed your hand. “We won’t be long. Promise.”
With that, the two of them stepped out of the car, closing the doors quietly behind them. You watched as they made their way to the trunk, quiet whispers shared as they hauled multiple bags over their shoulders and tread toward the shoreline, Cheol practically bouncing alongside his sister. Sae-byeok glanced back once, her dark eyes meeting yours through the glass before she turned away, disappearing down the beach path.
Alone in the car, you tried to piece together what they were up to. The way Cheol had been practically vibrating with excitement all day, paired with Sae-byeok’s uncharacteristic nervousness, left you more curious than ever.
Meanwhile, down at the beach, Sae-byeok and Cheol worked quickly, their earlier planning finally coming to life. Sae-byeok carried a small bag slung over her shoulder, its contents carefully chosen and packed earlier that morning. Cheol, as usual, was full of energy, darting ahead to scout out the perfect spot.
“Here!” he called, pointing to a secluded patch of sand nestled between two gentle dunes. The waves lapped softly just a few feet away, and the setting sun painted the spot in hues of amber and rose.
Sae-byeok nodded, setting the bag down and pulling out a small blanket. Together, they spread it over the sand, smoothing out the edges before Cheol began pulling out the other items: jars filled with strings of delicate fairy lights that were powered by a small battery pack, a handful of candles protected by glass holders, and a small bouquet of wildflowers wrapped in twine.
“Do you think it’s too much?” Sae-byeok asked, her voice low as she adjusted the candles, her hands moving with a nervous precision.
Cheol looked up from arranging the fairy lights, his grin unwavering. “No way. I think she’s gonna love it.”
Sae-byeok paused, her fingers lingering on the bouquet. Her heart was racing, her nerves catching up to her despite her outward calm. She glanced at Cheol, who was now testing the lights, his face glowing with excitement.
“You sure?” she asked, her voice quieter now.
Cheol stopped what he was doing and rested a hand on her shoulder. “I’m sure,” he said, his tone surprisingly serious. “You got this, Noona”
Sae-byeok nodded, her lips pressing into a thin line as she exhaled deeply. “Okay,” she murmured, more to herself than to him.
They finished setting up just as the sun continued to dip closer to the horizon, casting the beach in it’s soft sunset glow. The fairy lights sparkled faintly in the fading light, the candles flickering gently as the ocean breeze swept through.
Stepping back to admire their work, Cheol clapped his hands together with a satisfied grin. “Okay, it’s perfect! Now go and get her!”
Sae-byeok shot him a small, grateful smile before turning and making her way back to the car. Her hands were clammy, her heart thundering in her chest, but she pushed it all aside. This was for you.
When she reached the car, she opened your door and extended her hand. “Come on,” she said softly, her voice steady but her gaze intense. “There’s something I want to show you.”
The weight in her tone sent your pulse racing, but you took her hand without hesitation, letting her guide you toward the beach. Behind you, Cheol followed at a respectable distance, a knowing grin plastered across his face.
As you reached the top of the dunes, your breath caught at the sight below. The soft glow of the candles and fairy lights danced against the golden sand, the waves glimmering in the last light of the setting sun. The blanket, the flowers, the way everything seemed so carefully placed—it all felt like a dream.
You turned to Sae-byeok, your lips parting to speak, but the words caught in your throat as she stepped closer, her fingers lacing through yours. Her dark eyes searched yours, steady but filled with an emotion so deep it made your chest tighten.
“I’ve been waiting for the right moment,” she began, her voice barely above a whisper, “to show you how much you mean to me.”
The trembling in Sae-byeok’s hand was subtle but unmistakable, a rare crack in her carefully composed demeanor that sent a rush of warmth through you. Vulnerability wasn’t something she wore often, and seeing it now made your heart ache with both tenderness and anticipation. She guided you down the gentle slope of the dunes, the soft glow of the fairy lights and flickering candles drawing you into a scene that felt almost otherworldly. The quiet rhythm of the waves filled the air, wrapping the moment in a serene, almost sacred stillness.
She stopped just shy of the blanket, her hand still holding yours, her fingers tightening ever so slightly as if drawing strength from your touch. For a moment, she stood there, her gaze fixed on the horizon where the sun dipped lower, painting the sky in a palette of amber and lavender. Then, she took a deep breath, her shoulders rising and falling in time with the steady crash of the surf.
“Do you remember the first time we came here?” she asked, her voice low, steady, yet carrying a weight that made the words linger in the air.
Your lips curved into a soft smile at the memory, your mind drifting back to a simpler time—a time when the world felt less heavy, though no less meaningful. You nodded, your eyes meeting hers, and the quiet understanding between you filled the space where words weren’t needed.
“That day,” she continued, her gaze softening, “it felt like everything stopped for a moment. The world, the noise, all of it… it was just you and me. I didn’t realize it then, but… that was the first time I felt like I could breathe again. Like I wasn’t just surviving anymore.”
Her eyes searched yours, and there was something in them—something raw and unguarded—that made your breath catch. “It was here,” she said, her voice dipping lower, “that I realized… you’re my home. No matter what’s happened, no matter where I go, my heart leads back to you."
The sheer honesty in her voice hit you like a wave, your chest tightening as emotion welled up inside you. Her words weren’t just a declaration—they were a promise, a truth she had carried with her through every storm.
You opened your mouth to respond, your heart so full it felt as though it might burst, but before you could speak, Sae-byeok’s free hand moved toward her pocket. The movement was slow, deliberate, and you could see the faintest tremor in her fingers as she slipped them inside.
Time seemed to slow as she pulled something small and delicate from her pocket, her dark eyes never leaving yours. The moment felt like it existed outside of time, suspended between the steady crash of the waves and the warm glow of the fading sun.
Your breath hitched as she gracefully dropped to one knee, the motion so deliberate, so unexpected, that it stole the air from your lungs and every word from your lips. There she was, kneeling in the sand, her dark hair catching the last golden hues of the setting sun. The sight of her—strong yet vulnerable, steady yet trembling—etched itself into your memory.
From her pocket, she pulled out a small velvet box, and as she opened it, the glint of the ring inside caught the fading light. It was simple yet breathtaking, its understated elegance mirroring everything about Sae-byeok: unadorned but profound, quiet but capable of stealing your heart.
Her gaze locked onto yours, unwavering despite the faint tremor in her hands. “I’ve spent my whole life searching,” she began, her voice steady but laced with emotion. “For something… someone to fight for. And it’s you. It’s always been you.”
The words hung in the air between you, fragile yet unbreakable, as if she’d just given you the most sacred piece of herself. Her voice softened, her eyes never leaving yours as she whispered, “Will you marry me?”
Tears blurred your vision, the world around you melting into soft hues of amber and rose, the only thing clear being the woman before you—the woman you loved more than you thought possible. The words tangled in your throat, caught between overwhelming joy and the sheer magnitude of what this moment meant. Instead, you nodded first, a shaky, fervent motion before finally finding your voice.
“Yes,” you whispered, your voice cracking with emotion. Then louder, as if the universe itself needed to hear it. “Yes!”
Relief and joy flooded Sae-byeok’s face, her lips curving into the softest smile you’d ever seen as she slipped the ring onto your finger. It fit perfectly, like it had always been meant to be there. Standing, she pulled you into her arms, holding you so tightly it felt as though she was trying to memorize every part of you, to make this moment last forever. Her embrace was warm, strong, and unshakable, and for a moment, the entire world seemed to shrink down to just the two of you.
From a few steps away, the sound of a loud cheer shattered the quiet intimacy of the moment. “Finally!” Cheol hollered, practically jumping in place. “I thought I was going to explode keeping this secret!”
You laughed through your tears, the sheer happiness of the moment spilling over as Sae-byeok shook her head in mock exasperation. Cheol darted over, grinning from ear to ear as he proclaimed, “Okay, now I’m officially the wedding planner. No arguments!”
The rest of the evening unfolded like a dream, each moment saturated with joy. Cheol couldn’t stop teasing you both, his endless enthusiasm drawing soft chuckles and affectionate glances from Sae-byeok, who seemed lighter than she had in weeks. The tension she’d carried with her had melted away, replaced by a quiet confidence as her fingers intertwined with yours.
As the three of you strolled along the shoreline, the waves brushed gently against your feet, the ocean stretching out endlessly before you. Overhead, the sky had deepened into a canvas of indigo and violet, the first stars twinkling faintly in the distance. You glanced over at Sae-byeok, her profile softened by the moonlight, as you felt your heart swell.
She had won more than a game. She had won her future—a future she had fought for, bled for, and had chosen to share with you.

Gonna need everyone who's dead to come back to life and yell "we are Squid Game!" At the frontman or something for season 3 to even make me smile. Thanos could drop a sick beat while he's at it too.
