Hello! I’m Sadicon, Ma. Cielo L., a fourth-year college student taking up Civil Engineering. My blog this week is about how we decide on what to design as a product.

Since the problems we have gathered is mostly about manpower, we had difficulty on what to do first. We are lost on the idea since you can’t really sell people, and we the ideas that popped in our heads were already invented or already designed by other groups.

We then arrived to an idea of making a website that basically offers you a number of people that wants job, as part of manpower in the fields. It is a lot like JobStreet.com, Philjobnet, etc., but it is only for the people who want to work in the field.

We were a bit skeptical about the idea because we were not really experts on making website, so we still don’t know if we will pursue this idea.

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY, Feb. 25  - - The Department of Agriculture (DA)-10 has stepped up its promotion of urban gardening, as it recently provided 600 repacked assorted vegetable seeds to the Department of Education (DepEd) - Division of Misamis Oriental, Sugbongcogon District.

Carlota S. Madriaga, regional technical director for operations handed over the agri-inputs, consisting of eggplant, pechay and squash, particularly to the Kidampas Integrated School (KIS) thru its head, Cherry Q. Sadicon.

“For this year, the agency continues the provision of vegetable seeds through the Plant, Plant, Plant program (Agri 4Ps). There is a need to grow our own food as it is uncertain when this pandemic will end, and we want to ensure safe, accessible and available food is set on the tables of every Filipino family,” Madriaga said.

For her part, Sadicon of KIS expressed, despite the challenge brought by the pandemic, quality service is still envisioned by the education and agriculture departments of the government.

“DA plays a significant role in providing assistance to the programs and projects of other departments such as the Gulayan sa Paaralan and Gulayan sa Tahanan of DepEd,” she added.

Madriaga encouraged those interested to avail of free seeds to visit the office, as she also asked the local government units, institutions, and other groups to submit their request to get the seeds assistance in bulk. (JCAnito/DA10)

Hello! I’m Ma. Cielo Sadicon, a fourth-year college student taking up Civil Engineering. My blog this week is about how we planned for the upcoming pitch since our idea were already approved.

This week is our midterm week and it is also the week that we will prepare for the pitching of our product. Our team conduct brainstorming in order to provide the list that would be included in the pitch, since it will be graded. But unfortunately, the pitching schedule was moved.

After it was announced that the pitching was moved, we were quite happy because we were still not sure about our pitch presentation. And also, we were able to focus on our exams more.

All in all, this week is quite eventful

Hi! I’m Sadicon, Ma. Cielo L., a fourth-year college student taking up Civil Engineering. My blog this week is about how we arrived to our final decision on what to present on the presentation of designs and ideas and how the idea got accepted.

Last time, the idea that we have was to make a website, but we concluded that this is beyond our capability. So, we thought that it should be a lot related to our professions in the future. That’s why we reach to an idea of making bricks out of plastics and sand.

The reason behind this are: first is, the number of plastics all around the world is getting out of hand and we want to do something about it; second, we want to make something aesthetical; lastly, we want to make something economical to the point that the only things you would need is already free and is found around you.

On the presentation of ideas, our idea was approved and we can’t wait to make our product.

Hi! I’m Sadicon, Ma. Cielo L., a fourth-year college student taking up Civil Engineering. My blog this week is about our trip and experience upon interviewing the licensed civil engineers about the problems on the actual job.

Our first journey was in DPWH and it was kind of nervous wrecking to interview the professionals. We asked them what are the actual life problems being encountered on the field, their answer was mostly about the shortage of manpower.

The engineers we interviewed next was the engineers on our department, the Civil Engineering department in the school. We interviewed only one at that time in the office because they are sort of busy. We interviewed Engr. Florife Liwanag, and she told us that we should first observe what are the problems we see in the field or in the job of a civil engineer. Our last interviewee is from our department also but they have different office. He was part of Engr. Aniceto Neri’s team, I think they are responsible for the plumbing and sewer works in Bldg. 5. When we asked him, his answer was the same as the engineers in the DPWH, the problem was mostly manpower.

At the end of our quest, we still don’t know what to design as a product based on the answers we have gathered. Because it’s very difficult to design a solution on the main problem: manpower.

Hi! I'm Ma. Cielo Sadicon, a fourth year student taking up Civil Engineering. My blog today consist of my experience upon the first meeting in the subject Technopreneurship and my standards about picking a groupmate.

First of all, this is my first time taking the subject but my blockmate/closefriend told me a little bit about the subject since she kind of had an idea of it because her friend, whose already done taking up the subject, told her about what to expect in the subject. She told me that we are to do a project and the said project consist of us making a product that we will then show to a business presentation. Well, I kind of believe her at that time. And guess what, at our first meeting last November 28 in the ITB, it was discussed in our course requirement that we are to form a group of four, find a real world problem, build a working prototype, and create a solution, which this blog is also required. I also learned that in this subject, we will not have an exam, and we will think like a business person. It is kind of refreshing to be honest.

Another part of the course is to form a group right? So this point of time, I will tell you about how I've pick a groupmate. First, my groupmate should be someone whose schedule is the same as mine. My reason for this is that, it is quite convenient to have a groupmate who you can approach and see everyday since you can discuss about your project at most time. Second, my groupmate should be someone I've known for a while. It is reasonable to have a friend as a groupmate. Third, my groupmate should be someone who've known me. My reason for this is, it is easier to have someone who are not afraid to approach you or be awkward with you as a groupmate. Lastly, my groupmate and I should be comfortable with each other. It is nice to work with someone you're comfortable with.

All in all, I am quite excited about this subject since it is refreshing and different from all our past subjects. I think this is the first subject to teach us how to think like a businessman so, good luck to us. 🙂

/The gestalt slowly tips his helm to the side, having literally zero idea what tiny grayface is blathering on about. And then it hits him. A deep, dark, horrible feeling somewhere deep inside. He has no idea how to categorize this, he’s built for rage and destruction. He knows echoes of this from certain components - and he can feel those now too - but never himself.

What is this new, horrible feeling? And how can he make it stop?/
