- Animal Vegetable Mineral: The closing reception for Linda Fitz Gibbon, ceramics, and Shirley Hazlett, paintings, two-person show. Arthouse on R.  5-9PM.

- Human Voices : The Female Voice: Barbetta Lockart, Susan Tonkin Riegel, Franceska Gamez, Alicia Palenyy and Apollonia Cervantes bring a range of experience and artistic disciplines, yet each has chosen to communicate her response to the human condition through visual interpretation. - Tula In Bloom: It's Tula in Bloom's first open studio event at WAL! First Fridays at WAL feature a number of resident artists who will open their home studios for great Friday night shopping. Stonewall: Where Pride Began: Join Prof. Sherri Patton for an interactive lecture and discussion on June 2nd to discuss the history and the lasting impact of the Stonewall riots and how they are still relevant today. Black Book Fair: Tonight is the opening of The Fourth Annual Black Book Fair, dedicated to Carol Borden, a founder of the Book Fair, originator of “Books On Parade,” and an indispensable Sacramento Leader. The Historic Center of Oak Park. 6-9PM.

Saturday:

Seasonal Harvest with Patrick Mulvaney: Patrick Mulvaney of Mulvaney's Building and Loan will do a demonstration of seasonal harvest cooking. Using the ingredients available at the market he will prepare a Shaved Summer Squash Salad. Oak Park Farmers Market. 10-11AM.

SacPride 2017: Sacramento Pride is an LGBT celebration that promotes acceptance and pride with a parade followed by an outdoor party in the Capital Mall. High-energy live music, a dance pavilion, an activity-rich kid’s zone, local vendors and plenty of food trucks are just some of the many attractions at this daylong affair. There are also booths providing unique services, support and information throughout the event. Capitol Mall Between 3rd and 7th Street. 11AM-5PM. $10.

The Save Mart Grand Tasting: Join America's Farm-to-Fork Capital for an evening sampling the best food, wine and beer in the region in a relaxed atmosphere downtown to the accompaniment of live music. Formerly Sacramento's Grape Escape, the Save Mart Grand Tasting expands to bring more flavors of the region to attendees. Cesar Chavez Park. 4-7PM.

Lipstick 17th Anniversary: Celebrate 17 years of Lipstick - the longest running and best indie and brit pop dance party in Sacramento curated by Roderick Mar Carpio, Shaun Slaughter & Adam Jay. The team plans to pull out all the stops bringing in Blackout Productions for lighting, smoke and lasers, celebratory decor and some really fantastic giveaways! They will also be welcoming home Lipstick co-founder Shaun Slaughter after his 6 month stint on Hawaii! He'll be playing his signature Lipstick stuff + some new tricks he's kept up his sleeve on his time away. Old Ironsides. 9PM-1:30AM. $5.

Solistic Presents: Singing Circle: Based on basic call and response, circle singing is a group participatory activity that is much like an improvisational choir. As we form a circle of song, our voices grouped by range, improvise parts of a song that are repeated and all voices combine to create melody, harmony, rhythm and a lot of spirit! Sol Collective. 1-3PM. Sliding Scale: $5-$20, no one turned away.

Brunch Beats Midtown: Curated by Shaun Slaughter, this week’s Brunch Beats will featured DJ MC Ham. Get lost in the music while enjoying a Mr Espresso cappuccino and a RAZZOLI brunch pizza. Hot Italian. 12-3PM.

Tufarock Succulent Arrangement Workshop: Led by local creative Tufarock design, customize your own terra cotta pot with an assortment of colorful permanent markers & then choose from a variety of beautiful succulents to create an amazing living arrangement. A great way to spend your Sunday afternoon getting creative and making a hand made piece to have in your home or give to a loved one. The NeverEnding Story: The Neverending story creates a world of storybook wonder that is seldom achieved on the silver screen. There is some really incredible puppetry in this film, bringing to life unforgettable characters like the Rockbiter, Falcor, and the G'mork, in this tale of fantasy, belief, and the power of the human imagination. This is also a movie about the power of the written word, and the effect it can have on the human condition. It also delivers a lot of family fun. There will also be a costume contest before the film to allow those with the goods to showcase them.
