swiftie santa's christmas eve over here has been pretty great!

i mostly lounged around and I just wrapped a bunch of gifts and now i'm trying to decide when i wanna go to sleep.

how was yours? do you have any christmas eve traditions you always do? did you have a good day???

Mine was good, thank you! I was enjoying the calm before we do our family gathering tomorrow. We used to have more Christmas traditions, but especially when covid first hit a lot of it went away. And some of them we did with my grandmother and when she got sick it was a little hard for her to help, so it’s been awhile (we used to make sata andagi with her).

My personal tradition is having a baking night/cookie decorating night (it takes me two days) while I watch different versions of Waitress! I did that last weekend 🥰

Not sure about you but I’m still 3 hours from Christmas! It’s the one night a year where I try to go to bed early (early meaning like midnight lmao)

I saw six on the west end this past august and it was sooooo good! I really love the concert-style format of the show because as an audience member it felt so cool and original and like it was more interactive and you were part of it. I loved it so much!

I *love* Criminal Minds so much. I'm actually in the middle of a rewatch right now!!! (I haven't seen the new ones for Paramount + so I'm working up to them but I know I will miss my beloved Spencer but JJ and Prentiss and Tara are there, so I will survive I am sure.). I watched HIMYM and some of B99 and Psych! I love Shawn and Gus a lot.

Nice!! When I saw Six we had the original Jane Seymour from the West End on the tour!

I saw something somewhere that Spencer will have some appearance in the reboot soon, but not sure what exactly. I will say I do enjoy the reboot!! But it’s definitely a different vibe than the old Criminal Minds episodes, so I end up watching other episodes too 😂

RED MY BELOVED i'm also a Red fan. She's my favorite and I love her forever. Folklore came at the perfect time for me, as well. It was a rough year and I think we all needed it! I understand why it's so special!

GRACIE AND MAISIE MY BELOVEDS!!! i haven't listened to many of of the others on this list (but i do love chappell and i love idina from her time on broadway; i'm an original cast of rent fan through and through and that was one of the first musicals that i really really fell hard for). What are your favorite musicals????

I can see you love the x files (mulder and scully, beloveds) and castle, but do you have any other favorite shows or movies that mean a lot to you???

Aaaahh musicals!! I am definitely more of a modern musical theatre person so my core musicals are all relatively new ones—Wicked, Waitress, If/Then, Once, and The Last 5 Years are my core musicals emotionally/story-wise. Other favorites that I know really well are Six, RENT, and Hamilton!! And I loved the revival Falsettos cast and really started to love Christian Borle this year lol so I listened to quite a bit of Legally Blonde.

tv shows my beloved 🤍🤍 my big ones are x files, castle, the mentalist, bones, rizzoli & isles, and criminal minds. I also used to watch private practice and psych a lot and enjoyed body of proof. and then some of the shows I know best are the comfort shows I watch when I need a little levity!! friends, how I met your mother, the good place, gilmore girls, brooklyn 99, and hart of dixie mainly! And my one reality show is survivor.

I know that was a lot lol have you seen any of them?

Hello hello!! 😍 happy December!

Oo, holiday traditions… honestly, we haven’t had any holiday traditions in many years (covid hit, sister moved abroad, grandmother’s illness/passing) but we used to make special foods with my grandmother at Christmas! She made mochi for us and we used to help her make sata andagi (okinawan donuts). As a kid, I loved doing Secret Santa at gym because we would leave clues for each other and hide gifts all over the gym (e.g., at the top of the rope).

One I’ve started as an adult (and my mom used to do it with us as kids) is baking cookies every year! I now do it on my own while watching my favorite Waitress bootlegs, and it’s a tradition I really enjoy for myself. And I used to be the one to wake up early every Christmas so the rule was we could open stocking presents (but not the main presents) as soon as we woke up (it stopped me from waking everyone up lol). I used to wake my sisters up to open stocking presents and still do 😂

Swiftie Secret Santa back again!

That is a GREAT dress! All of the speak now gowns were so lovely. I think my personal favorite were the 1989 mismatched ones. I don't know why I loved them so much but I just thought it was such a fun way to change it up and keep it different!

GREAT surprise song choices! I would have loved to have gotten Cowboy Like Me at one of my shows but I was at an early show where she was still doing Invisible String, so I felt really great about that one because I love that song.

Do you have a favorite Taylor Era in general or favorite album?

Cowboy Like Me is soooo good!! I love that song so much. It's been a long time since I've done an evermore ranking but I think it's pretty high up there for me. And omg an invisible string show!! I had the 1. I think I might've chosen invisible string over the 1, but my appreciation for the 1 has grown a lot since the album first came out.

my favorite albums are folklore and red! If we go purely off of musical style, folklore (and evermore) are the most me albums she has, and folklore was such a special release because it's the closest it's ever been to my birthday and summer of 2020 (as difficult as it was) was really special for me for many reasons. It was also my taylor swift birthday (22) so it was just extra special hehe but red is my beloved! It was probably the most special taylor concert experience I ever had and it was during the middle of the worst time of my life (up to that point lol). My favorite eras were 1989 and lover — I first started really making friends on here during the 1989 era and I feel like even though I was active on here during rep, lover was when I felt most a part of the fandom on here (plus she liked a couple of my photos hehe) <3

I don't listen to Christmas music besides Idina Menzel, basically, but her cover of "River" is on my playlists all year around <3 I also really love "Mother's Spiritual" from that album. I listen to "Christmas Tree Farm" by Taylor Swift as well and the other day was thinking about how I'm no longer really Christian but I WILL sing "Christmas Must Be Something More" at the top of my lungs.

I don't have anything specifically for a Christmas movie, but I do rewatch Christmas episodes of ALL my shows!
