i havent watched the first season either, so this is more of a general question!! would you recommend shadow and bone to someone who hasnt read any of the books and knows nothing about the universe?

i think its a good show no matter if u have read any of the books or not, especially since i havent read the series thats arguably more important to understanding the show and i enjoyed that part of the plot a lot. the characters are very engaging and the setting/worldbuilding is super cool (to me at least) and u can also find non-spoiler descriptions of the magic system, important characters, and maps and such on the grishaverse website to get a feel for whats going on if u want

#like i read the first spinoff pair of books but the plot of s1 is mostly about the original trilogy #and my favorite characters in s1 are from the trilogy.#s2 i prefer my more familiar characters from the duology tho. the way that the storylines are weaved together is pretty cool #but honestly u probably wouldnt even think about it much without having read the books #so like i guess i recommend it!!#tbh i also recommend the soc duology even to ppl who dont usually read stuff bc its just so good #and u dont have to read the other books to enjoy it either #grishaverse #asks #steine-druff
