“I wish it could be like this forever.”
“But it can’t?”
“No. You know it can’t.”
“I love you anyways. Maybe next time.”

I keep imagining the Lightningspitters like a bunch of funky little sea birds, diving for fish and just staying in the air for hours, my MC Gabriel, hes gonna love learning to be a Lightningspitter in the city. Which I guess leads into a question lol, does each subspecies have their own like, districts in the city? I imagine the Lightningspitters have the docks and harbour front.
Yesss you got the vibes exactly 🤝
And kind of? The species themselves don’t have districts but the various gangs/groups tend to, yes. The subspecies interact and collaborate a lot more within the city than their isolated communities would outside of urban climates, but they all have individual spots that matter more to specific species over another.
These places will come up a bit more in the individual ✨training scenes✨ later, but Lightningspitters, like you guessed, have more spots along the docks and edges of the city, Firespitters have a lot of community the deeper into the city you go, Venomspitters are a bit more scattered but are usually found in higher elevated places like skyscrapers and rooftops, and Frostspitters-
wait.

Okay, mext one(s)! When you say Dragons glow when they activate their breath, is it just like in their mouths? Or is it like godzilla charging up his Atomic Breath with parts of their external body glowing as they charge? And are there any significant chamges between the different species?
hell yeah this one can be up to personal interpretation since I don’t wanna determine this for every MC but as far as common displays in species:
Frostspitters don’t glow super bright but a lot of them have tiny vents on the sides of their necks that are meant to expel the fog when they breathe their frost, but these can be closed or otherwise difficult to see. When looking closely, one may spot the alien blue glow they emit when shooting off their breath weapon. If you’re close enough to see the glow in their mouths though, you’re in trouble.
Firespitters glow a lot due to the fire in their chests. When they’re revved up and ready to fight, you can even see the glow emitting from between their ribs, light caught pulsing between the heavy breaths they take. Since they can catch on fire, sometimes the spaces between their scales glow and some even have patterns that appear along their hides.
Lightningspitters glow quite a bit, mainly with the stored electrical charge that is constantly running throughout their bodies. It takes a bit of focus, but they can emit a little bit of light from a few places, namely the inside of their mouths, specific slits between scales, and their eyes tend to completely “white-out” when they are storing a particularly large charge of electricity. They show a lot of their state through their eyes.
Venomspitters certainly glow the least, but this is for a reason. They adapted to be nocturnal hunters and though this means they can see especially well in the dark and have different senses for things like that, they were environmentally built to stalk and follow prey. Their eyes do glow a bit, but mainly with the reflection of light. Despite the generational adaptation to hide, a lot of Venomspitters do/did have brighter scale patterns 👀
Dragons with no breath weapon don’t glow or glow very little, but if you think your character can regardless I say go for it <3 rule of cool always
