Pietro: Well, letting her fly made her more capable in fights! We could've had it be an outer Rig, something easily removable, but I enjoyed the extra challenge!

Pietro: And ... I was inspired by someone I cared about an awful lot. He was the first to begin developing Aura Transfer technology, though his specialty was in developing new types of dust.

Pietro: Part of that was going to natural deposits and testing the viability of opening new mines, or seeing if there were any naturally occurring combinations.

Pietro: ... Celestine Faring. We loved each other a lot. We had plans on adopting kids one day, but after his death I was declared unfit to take care of children ...

Ruby: So you built Penny? What did he look like?

Pietro: Here. A photo. Don't Drop it.

The Photo was of a pale adult man, Large insectoid wings coming off of his back, Ginger hair standing out against his Blue eyes and clothing style as is traditional to atlas.

Pietro: You can see where I got her traits from him. His hair, wings, and being a bit on the thin side.

Ruby: She got your freckles, and liking of green?

Pietro: Exactly.

Ruby: ... If you don't mind me asking ... What happened to him?

Pietro: ... *He glances to the ground*

Maria: ... Ruby ... There is an important lesson I've been scared of teaching you, if I even could.

I dunno If I'm going to make Firefly Penny Canon, but it's very tempting.

Have you ever wished Qrow Branwen could date Maes Hughes from FMAB?

Mistral AU offshoot

After the phone booth Maes is isekai’d into RWBY and is found by Qrow and Jaune

Qrow because ship, Jaune because holy shit gunshot wounds

It’s like Fairgame but if Clover wasn’t a fucking narc

Coffee Shop/College

Your classic coffee shop AU combined with a classic college AU

All the kiddos are sophomores/juniors at Beacon University

Shipping and shenanigans ensue

Seamonkeys are the coffee shop ship, but Jaune also works there

An AU based on a ship that HarmonyLight and I came up with between JNR+Marrow

Diverges about halfway through Volume 8 as it hadn’t finished when we came up with it

Oscar gets sent back in time for fix-it purposes, but not as far as you’d think

Timeline diverges during the finale of V7, when ALPN end up in the vault during the Maiden nonsense

Some doomed timeline shit happens and literally EVERYONE dies before Oscar and Jaune’s eyes

Oscar unlocks his semblance (time travel whoopee) and Jaune boosts him so he can go back and F1X TH1S

AKA, Pyrrha lives because I miss her

Through the power of Arkos and Jaune being a soft boy who keeps giving his maybe girlfriend flowers, the girl lives and the world is saved

Honest to goodness first thought? Sabretooth x Monet. I never cared for Monet at first, but when I got curious and looked her up, I found out about Sabretooth's 4 year long redemption arc (sorta, don't ask newcomers), I was hooked, and I now want an AU where they get to be happy together.

1) Three non-romantic duos: Hmmm...brotps I adore would be Jack and Daniel (SG-1), Sam and Daniel (SG-1), and Lune and Matsen (Jade Torch -- is it cheating to use my own book??? xD) If that's cheating, then Sam and Frodo (LotR).

2) A ship that might surprise others: I kinda ship Link x Mipha from BOTW. I like Zelda x Link too, but something about Link x Mipha is just so sweet and tragic. I like that they knew each other for a lot longer than Zelda and Link knew each other.

Let's be real. I don't have a lot of crazy ships. Although, in SG-1, I do ship Vala x Tomin (but I also like Vala x Daniel).

3) Last Song: Shackleton by Adam Young

4) Last Film: My parents and I watched Hitched for the Holidays last night. Very funny romcom with Joey Lawrence. It's a Hallmark movie from 2012, so just before they all got so unbelievably cookie cutter/copy+paste with their plots.

5) Currently reading: Operation Grendel by Daniel Schwabauer

Soft summer prompt #5, Nuts and Dolts?

A pleasant summer’s breeze blows Penny’s curls away from her face.  The princess from the north is in awe of how much more mild the weather here in Vale is than back home.  Her cloak, sewn from a lighter fabric than all her heavy wool and fur ones made to withstand Solitas’s cold, is enough to keep her warm even during sunset, with night beginning to cool the air.

“Your royal highness?  Might I inquire what you are doing out at such a late hour as this?”

Penny jumps.  “Um, uh, nothing?”  Her voice squeaks in a way not befitting a royal.  She tries not to wince.  “Nothing, Stablemaster Port,” she tells the gray-haired man with one of the largest mustaches she’s ever seen, hesitates, and then hastily adds, “sir.”

Do Vale royal staff have a specific way to be addressed they prefer in polite conversation?  Back home in Atlas, Penny had to memorize all the proper terminology for each and every different ranking staff member at a young age.  It was considered a grave insult if the Crown Princess herself addressed someone incorrectly.

Before Penny can fully start worrying over whether or not she’s insulted Stablemaster Port by calling him simply “sir,” loud hoofbeats approach them.  They briefly slow when they reach the princess and the stablemaster.  Penny feels a hand close around the hood of her cloak.  She’s yanked off her feet and pulled expertly into the saddle.  She would panic, but there is only one person who would do such a thing.  Penny trusts her implicitly.

“Ruby Rose!  That is no way to handle a royal!”  Port shouts after them.

“You aren’t my teacher anymore, old man!”  Ruby calls over her shoulder with a laugh.  Her arms wrapped securely around Penny, she pushes the princess’s dapple gray mare into a canter.  Port yells something else, but Penny doesn’t catch his words over the wind.

Once they’re safely away from the stables, Ruby slows the mare.  She stops at the entrance to the riding trail they picked earlier, dismounts, and retrieves her own steed from where she hid the blood bay behind some shrubbery before doubling back to retrieve Penny and her horse.

“You shouldn’t have done that,” From still in the saddle, Penny admonishes her bodyguard.  “He’s going to get us in trouble.”

Ruby retorts.  “No, he’s not.”  She swings up into her own saddle.  Her horse snorts his protest. “Port owes me.”

“He owes you?”  Penny repeats incredulously.  She nudges her mare forward to stand by Ruby’s.  “What, pray tell, does he owe you that he won’t go telling on us for behaving in such a manner?”

“Oh, come on!”  Ruby pouts.  “Don’t get all princessy on me now.  This was your idea!”

Penny grins.  “My idea was to go on a pleasant evening ride.”  She pauses dramatically.  “Not that tomfoolery.”

Ruby sticks out her tongue at her.  Penny can’t help but giggle.  She loves this.  So much.  Back home, Ruby wouldn’t dare pulling off such a stunt like she had.  The pressures of being a Royal Bodyguard weigh on her too much.  Penny knows they do.  Usually, such a position is reserved for a highly regarded lord’s son.  Not some commoner girl poached from another kingdom’s academy.  Ruby’s arrival in Atlas and appointment had caused a stir among the nobility, to say the least.  There are many among them who are waiting for Ruby to make just the right mistake that they finally could consider it reason enough to oust her.

The situation tends to cause Ruby a lot of stress.  Not that she’s ever admitted to it anytime Penny has attempted asking.

Here in Vale, away from the prying eyes of Atlesian nobility, Penny noticed, Ruby is more relaxed, carefree.  She still takes her duties seriously.  She’ll always protect her princess, of that Penny has no doubt, but Ruby goofs off in ways Penny could have never predicted while in her homeland.

It gives her mixed feelings.  Penny loves seeing this side of Ruby.  She does.  It just kind of hurts knowing that when they go home, to Penny’s home, it won’t be the same.  Penny holds back a sigh.

They ride on, silent but the clip-clop of their horses hooves for a few minutes.

Penny sees the first bright green spot in the air.  Her breath catches in her throat.  The spot disappears quickly, but then another appears.  This one drifts over to her.  The little bug that caused the bright light lands on Penny’s horse’s mane, crawls around, flashes bright green again, and then takes off.  Penny watches it go.

“Are these…?”

“Fireflies?”  Ruby finishes for her.  “Yup.”  She halts her horse, dismounts, and ties her reins loosely to a tree.  Then helps Penny do the same.  Taking Penny by the hand, Ruby leads her princess to the center of the meadow they’ve come to.  All around them fireflies drift around, blinking their lights leisurely.

Penny twirls around in a circle.  She can’t take her eyes off the little bugs.  Solitas is too cold for anything like them.  She holds out her hand.  A firefly lands on her index finger.  Penny giggles, and turns to show Ruby, who’s grinning dopily back at her.

“I knew you’d love them.”  Ruby approaches Penny.

“I love you,” Penny answers without thinking, and then chokes on her gasp.  Oh gods.  Oh gods.  She just admitted—to Ruby—she just said…

Ruby’s silver eyes are as big as saucers, or the moon itself.  She stares back at Penny, her face gently illuminated by the fireflies’ lights.  Her mouth opens, and then closes, and then opens again, like a fish.

Panic rises in Penny’s gut.  She shouldn’t have said that.  What they have is special, but it’s not allowed, and they shouldn’t—it will be easier to not be hurt when they have to let go if they don’t admit like she just—and oh gods.  Oh gods.  Oh gods.

Ruby takes Penny’s hands in her own.  She kisses the backs of them.  Not in the reverential way reserved for royal and bodyguard, but in the tender way only a suitor is allowed to do for a princess.

“I love you, too,” Ruby breathes.

In that moment, Penny knows Ruby will never let go of her, and she’ll never let go of Ruby.

No matter what.

More Sharc Lore

Sharc AU Spoilers ahead

God, I need to talk about some of the themes in the Sharc AU, because in RWBY itself there has been, especially in Vol 8+9, themes of Who and What someone is, and in the Sharc AU I'm pushing that even harder, making it stick around more consistently. And I'm only talking about them because it'll take a LONG time before we actually start covering this stuff.

Because certain characters aren't what they were in Canon (Jaune, Penny, and Yang all being Faunus) it kinda has to be to emphasize that these aren't the same Jaune, Penny, and Yang from Canon.

Jaune wears a Scarf to hide his teeth, while Penny and Yang can't hide their traits - Yang's tail is too big and Penny's wings take up a lot of surface area, meaning Jaune is more able and willing to hide, while Yang and Penny just have to deal with what is thrown at them, Yang having more negative experiences with it, While Penny gets to use it as an excuse for her oddities- After all, if someone is a bug, it wouldn't make sense for them to act completely human (Which is a really horrible and inaccurate worldview, but when has that stopped rascists?)

Not only that, but if someone could hide their traits, Why not go further? Why risk someone seeing your second ears, or your tail? Just Crop them! You'll look human, thay'll treat you the same- after all, it's all just superficial, right? Just hide the scar with clothing or something! It'll just be an old injury!

(It's not like losing your tail or ears with fucks with your balance! Not at all. You're just clumsy)

And -MAJOR SPOILERS AHEAD- After Penny get Rebuilt in Volume 8, she loses her wings. They're considered excess, and simply make her more difficult to work on, and can be "offputting" to the majority of the population of the Kingdom Atlas (Who are Humans) and only does she get them back when Ambrosius gives her a body, because that's who she is.

But also, there's something about how people are changed in who they are, rather than what they are.

Weiss "isn't racist"- she isn't outwardly or intentionally racist, but she doesn't realize or recognize the prejudices she carries from her home, nor does she realize that she makes exceptions for people she knows and cares about, specifically when Blake gets found out, and Yang is hurt by how Weiss reacts.

It's only when Weiss understands how much she's hurt the people she cares about, and how it isn't about being aware of how you were raised, but actively unlearning the prejudices instilled by where you come from.

It also delves more into Faunus before they were pushed into Menagerie, the individual nations - like the Hopi and Chinook, Maori, Hawai'ians and the Aborginies - so many different nations and cultures all wrapped up under one label of "indigenous" to their respective lands.

There's gonna be talk of how Gender is different to most faunus, because there are higher Rates of intersex and Hermaphroditic people, because sometimes that's the trait you get. How a Peahen Faunus' feathers lose their mud-brown coloration with age, turning to the brilliant blues and greens of a Peacock, or how a Clownfish faunus may begin transitioning naturally overtime, and how that affects gender identity.

There's so much about faunus that could've been so cool to see through in Canon but fear, time, and resources restricted it to "Violence Bad!"

Even though there comes a point where some one needs to understand that Actions are stronger than Words so you'd better listen up and change your ways before I change your face. I don't want to, but if you keep threatening my family the way you are, you'll learn to at least keep your mouth shut about.

I also have to do a lot of research to make sure I go about this in a respectful way, because I am only human and white. I've still got a lot to learn.

Salem and Cinder's connection is deeper than we think

So, in another post I talked about the possibility of Salem having shared some of her magic with Cinder to keep her alive. Now, I don't want to entirely debunk my other theory, but maybe what Salem shared with Cinder wasn't so much her magic, but a part of her aura/soul. And having a part of someone who is literally immortal attached to them...tends to keep one alive as well.

The show even offers us possible facts that could strengthen this theory. So for the sake of this argument I will go through them chronologically, starting by vol 3 episode 7, our very first Cinder flashback episode.

Besides Cinder's semblance (yes, I still attribute those explosions to her semblance), which resembles Salem's own signil eerily enough on certain occasions and which she could use way before obtaining the Fall Maiden's power, there is a short little dialogue I want to point out:

“The huntsman severed the connection before it was complete.

Yes...it's an emptiness. It burns...like hunger... I like it.

Yes...I will claim what is ours.

Thank you.“

That whole scene was, of course, a black screen scene and for a while I had just assumed Cinder would talk to Salem via a scroll or this seer grimm, but let's be real. Salem doesn't strike me as someone who owns a scroll and Cinder was definitely not talking to Watts or Tyrian here. A seer grimm might be possible, but...it depends on where Cinder was staying at that time and how many of these type of grimm Salem even has. So yes, it's still possible for this to be a one-sided phone call of sorts, but it could also be our first clue for Cinder's and Salem's connection. This whole conversation could have been telepathic...in a sense.

But let's look at another scene. In vol 3 episode 10, we see Emerald, Mercury and Cinder on the rooftop with the latter telling Mercury to focus on the Atleasian knights. When he states he will, Cinder adds this little tidbit.

“Good, continue the broadcast until the end.

(Ground/rooftop shaking)

And do not miss what happens next.“

This is of course referring to the giant grimm dragon breaking from the mountain. Now, Salem could have told Cinder about it and how to get it to emerge, but this shaking could have been anything really. Maybe one of the elephant grimm trampled over a house and it crashed into another, or an explosion caused a little quake in its aftermath. So Cinder knowing exactly what the shaking meant was pretty...specific and well timed.

But it gets even more interesting in vol 3 episode 12 when the grimm dragon first lands on Beacon tower:

“Shh...this is your home now.“

Now, first of all, the dragon seems to know exactly where it has to go. It could be beacuse Salem ordered it to...but why would it look so grimmly at Cinder then, when he first spots her? Why would Cinder need to calm it down? And more importantly, Cinder CAN calm it down! Sure, she could have just said it because she felt like it, or she thought it could help, but the dragon literally reacted to her words, its growl even softened somewhat. And who else have we seen talking to grimm like this? Salem!

So what does all of this have to do with Cinder and Salem's soulbound connection? Well...let's first try to find out HOW they talk to grimm.

In all honesty, I haven't seen other people in Remnant who attempted to talk to grimm, nor were they mentioned (well maybe Merlot did, but we're not counting him XD). And how would they even understand one? They are soulless creatures, but...they are drawn to negative emotions. Which means they have a 'higher' empathic sense of sorts. We also know they are somewhat intelligent. So maybe Salem is able to communicate with them via that sense. Yes, we have seen her directly talk to some of them, but talking helps us visualize or feel certain things, so this might have been for her own or Cinder's benefit. And we should also keep in mind that the seer grimm gave his report...via his clicking noises...so...the trick behind that 'language' could be interpreting certain feelings and pictures that are send via that sense.

We haven't seen Ozpin being able to do the same, so it could be an ability Salem aquired after jumping into the fountain of the god of darkness.

Now, if Cinder is being able to communicate with grimm as well and Salem is the only other being in Remnant who is known to have this ability, it certainly could allude that it got shared when Salem attached a part of her soul to Cinder.

Also, if we look further at her fight with Pyrrha, the grimm dragon tries to help her somewhat and not once did Cinder look surprised by that. Not when it suddwnly flew away, nor when it changed its course to speed up back at them to crash into the dome of the tower.

So why did I talk about how communication with a grimm might work? Because I believe Cinder and Salem to be able to communicate on the same level, via that empathic sense.

But let's take a look at vol 4 where we actually see both of them interacting.

We have vol 4 episode 3 where Salem gives Cinder a 'control your new arm' lesson. What exactly is she saying there again?

“Do you feel it?

Don't fight it, girl.

It can sense your trepidation.

You must make it dread you!“

Trepidation...alright... How do you know that, Salem? Cinder doesn't look frightened at that scene at all, a bit uncomfortable and probably in pain, but I wouldn't have said she was afraid. So not only 'it' was able to sense Cinder's trepidation, Salem could as well it seemed. And if we watch a bit longer we get the whole :

“Did you kill Ozpin?“

A question Cinder has to answer all by herself, even though she clearly can't really talk at the moment. And why was that important for Salem? Because Cinder literally wouldn't be able to lie to Salem's face if they're in fact connected like this and it would also explain why Salem looked so pleased after she gets her answer. She doesn't question it, she simply believes her when she says yes. Furthermore, there is this moment where Salem raises her voice and slams her hands on the table...but Cinder doesn't even flinch, as if she already felt something like this would happen.

Speaking about lies. In vol 4 episode 11 we have another instance of...interesting phrasing from Salem:

“Enough!

I thought you were the girl that wanted power.

Did you lie to me?

Then stop holding back!“

Stop holding back? Well, to me it certainly looked like Cinder gave it her all, no holding back, just being tired because she clearly pushed herself very hard, so I ask again...how did Salem know that? She would only be able to make that point if she either already witnessed Cinder handling her powers and knows she can do better, which didn't seem to be the case with how frustrated Cinder got at the end, or like with her trepidation in ep 3, Salem was just able to feel it. Something else that stood out to me in that scene was Cinder's reaction to Salem's: Did you lie to me? She flinches. Not when Salem says it's 'Enough', not when she throws Cinder's desire for power back at her, no, she flinches when she is accused of lying. And if we go with their connection theory...she literally wouldn't be able to pull that off, because Salem would know it immediately...somewhat like a lie detector. So Salem asking her this, was kinda a dig at her that she couldn't.

If we keep focusing on Cinder here when Tyrian comes back and begs for forgiveness, she only looks at him for maybe a split second, before her attention is solely on Salem again. And Cinder seems to look almost uneasy....lost of sorts? But why would she? Tyrian is the one getting focused on by Salem for now. He is the one in trouble. So could it be, that Cinder actually picks up on Salem's 'emotions' again, as she may have in ep 3? If they do have this bond, then it probably goes both ways. So Cinder might get some puzzling or worrisome readings from Salem in that scene, and we know from vol 6 just how much Salem can repress her anger...well until she doesn't, but still XD

Another scene that might strengthen this theory happens in vol 5 episode 2, when Lionheart tells his report to Salem. After she gives her orders to all of them and ends the 'call' she immediately looks over to Cinder, as if she knows right away that something is troubling her.

“You are free to speak your mind.“

She even sounds somewhat amused and as we have already seen, this isn't the first time Salem is awefully intuned to Cinder's feelings.

There are a few other small things that I have found throughout the series, but these are the most interesting ones I think, so let me talk about how I even got this idea in the first place and let's jump straight into vol 6 now.

After we got our first episode with Cinder it was clear that she had woken up a month after the attack at Haven. And she immediately seemed to know what to do. Sure, a lot of people were saying she couldn't very well go back to Salem empty handed, and although I'm not really agreeing with that, even if that is the truth, what stops Cinder to contact Hazel and get where Ruby and co. are from him? Or Emerald and Mercury? What stops her from reaching out to them? Her scroll seems to work just fine. Is she aware of Salem wanting her to “toil in her isolation“?

When we got episode 4, Salem is indeed aware of Cinder being alive. A lot of people seem to believe the reason for that is Cinder's grimm arm. Personally I don't agree with that. Yes, Salem is the master of all grimm and can control them, but firstly, we don't know how much at once and at what length she can do that. Secondly, she probably is not able to connect to a soulless creature, not even mentioning having the ability to keep tabs on them. 'Talking' and controlling them? Sure. But being outright able to feel when one of them evaporates? That would mean she would be able to keep tabs on all the grimm over the world...and I don't think that's the case.

So Salem attaching a part of her own aura/soul to the girl she definitely needs to survive against all odds and keep somewhat control over her, does sound plausible to me. It would certainly explain her leniency towards the Fall Maiden and why she is not even questioning her loyalty once. It is hard to betray someone who you're directly tied to after all.

But then again, that's just me theorizing again. I could be proven wrong next episode, but hey, analyzing these things is fun XD

Captain of the Stars

A lot of this I had already written and grabbed off of old posts, but the old ones are obviously tainted. I wanted to go back to this au and think about it some more, so here’s an up-to-date, enhanced, edited version of my Firefly AU for you guys to check out: - Captain: Geoff. He’s been in the stars since he was a boy. The normal success story- a kid from some nowhere farming planet applies for the Interplanetary Federation and gets his own ship at the age of 22. Problem is? He’s a bit of a troublemaker… which ends up with him deserting the Federation armed only with a ship and dreams of fame and fortune. Ready to get that fame and fortune however he can - even if it means punching some holes into some nasties. - First Mate/Pilot: Jack. Every ship needs a Pilot, someone who can maneuver and dive like the best of them. And Jack is, without a doubt, that man. He handles their ship like one would handle the prettiest person or the most breakable piece of art and in exchange, she dances for him. Originally a shopkeep in a backwater port down on a nowhere moon, Jack had books that charted the stars and a small light-hopper in his backyard on which he learned to fly better than the best of them. Unfortunately, he’s near-signed. While it doesn’t change his ability to fly, it stopped any dreams of getting a legitimate job with the Federation. His dreams of reaching the stars seem impossible... until a wild-eyed man with tattoos and dreams of glory gets deep in his cups and offers a chance at greatness... 

- Systems Maintenance/Negotiator: Gavin. Born of high-ranking Federalist parents on Oasis-6, one of the most fervently loyal Federation planets, no one expected a white-collar boy like Gav to take to the stars. Chafing under their restrictive authority, Gavin was found more often on the streets, getting involved in stupid schemes and getting knocked around. To prevent this, his parents, owners of half the fucking galaxy, would lock him down to save their reputation. He spent this time studying books and gilding his tongue. When he gets the chance to run away to the stars, he doesn’t hesitate. A savant for technology and one of the most silver tongued criminals in this side of the galaxy, he’s a wild card and a gift.

- Gunnery: Michael. Michael is from a mining planet far out on the edges of the galaxy. A nothing planet that’s almost forgotten, Jack and Geoff pit stop there for one thing - a new bounty to collect. This is the bastion of gangs; the shithole on the edge of the government’s boundaries. There, they nearly get tackled by a ragged boy with sharp teeth and an angry voice who is running from some high-ranking gang members. When fists start flying, the two stand up for Michael and kill the opponents. Grateful - and now with nowhere to go - Michael leaps at the chance to go with them. He’s their gunner-man  - anything that shoots is his territory. Cannons, laser pistols, regular guns, explosives - they’re his children and he handles them with more care than he would a child.

- Engineer: Jeremy. After a severe firefight, the Achieve [their beloved ship] limps down into a space-station not far from Earth that Was. They’re directed to the best damn shipbuilder on this hunk of iron animated with artificial gravity, but they’re given a warning: the man is drunk more often than not. Not surprisingly, they discover an older man off his rocker with drink, but his buff apprentice is fully sober and extremely talented at fixing ships. Jeremy is all thick accent and bluster, but they find out he’s a kid with a bad past that was working to try to get a jump out of this shithole space-station. They desperately need someone on hand to fix their ship, so Jeremy is offered a job. It’s not long before him, Michael, and Gavin are thick as ... well, thieves.

- Companion: Fiona. Don’t you dare call Fiona a whore, because she’ll both cut you physically and cut you from the list of clients for good. She has a profitable network of high ranking women that she provides companionship for and through this, she comes back with secrets and money that help enhance the Achieves’ deals. With the companion’s knowledge of seduction and manipulation, she also has a vicious penchant for knives and can kill anyone before they even realize they’re in danger. Just don’t try to ask her for services when she’s not on the job.

- Medic: Matt. -  It quickly is obvious that Jack’s basic medical knowledge isn’t going to cover what they need. At a pitstop on a city-planet deeper inside the Federation, Geoff comes back with their new doctor... a boy looking like he couldn’t even be out of med school. Everyone is skeptical, but Matt is extremely talented. The best part about him is that he has tangible experience in many different areas but doesn’t ask questions. He can close a bullet hole, keep people alive when they’re bleeding out, heal a burn, or stitch a laceration. Because of this, they forgive his vices (eating, laziness, etc.) He’s not bad with a gun either, when push comes to shove. They’re lucky to have him, honestly. 

- Information/Secrets/Navigation: The Twins Trevor and Alfredo. The info-gathering racket the Twins had before they fled to the Achieve was the likes in which the original crew on the Achieve had never hoped to touch. They use the Achieve as a home base for their own profitable business as the ship is a safe place for two runaways from the Feds. When they’re on board, they’re extreme help with the nav systems, with info on big scores, etc. They know they need to continue providing incentive for Geoff to let them stow away, and so their secrets are bigger every time they return from an info-gathering mission. They’re also extremely grateful to the crew of the Achieve for keeping Alfredo alive after almost dying during one of their many escapes. That sort of blood debt isn’t solved easily. Plus, the Twins like it there. The Achieve is their home and the crew is their family, forever and always. Hack-offs and death missions and all. 

- Wildcard: Lindsay - The thing with a chaos goddess is that no one can hold her down. Despite the fact that she loves her home on the Achieve, she doesn’t always stay there. She’s welcome a bunk and a home whenever she wants it (and she takes that a lot), but she also has a life outside of the Achieve too. She tends to take her shuttle down on offworld planets, working deals and enterprises that allowed her to stay alive in this crazy universe for so long. She has connections that branch far, far beyond their little crew… people in a mysterious gang called RWBY (no one knows what the letters stand for and frankly, everyone’s too afraid to ask), a quiet assassin named Meg who, like a siren, kills every man she seduces, etc. Lindsay knows how and where to find them and is always around to help or cause mischief when she’s on board. The whole crew loves her, even if they treat her with a sort of wary respect.

Their ship? The Achieve. An older model, but she flies better than anything in the skies. Sleek and upgraded, she’s a general army-grade ship with modifications to make it more of a home. Everyone has a bunk, there’s a common room and a kitchen, and the control room is home to anyone with curiosity. Their mission? To smuggle and fight their way to millions, taking odd jobs and illegal enterprises to make fortunes and to just keep flying. They’re free and they have each other and in the end, that’s all they really need.
