Today marks 7 years since I had my last drink. I just spent a hour on stage telling my story one song at a time as the first #HipHop artist to ever headline @rvavegfest I ended my set by saying “The changes you make are the changes you bring.” When I quit drinking #alcohol it wasn’t easy. Nothing worth doing ever is. Since then my life has changed so much for the better, outside and in. I was fortunate to have never hit the rock bottom I know so many other #alcoholics have and yet still experience “the gift of desperation.” I have never stopped working or slowed down, from before then to now. I won’t. I don’t carry with me the weight of regret or the fear of loss, no matter how heavy the burden of #pride may at times seem to be. Through sobriety I have found a new meaning of #success. That’s why I share my #life with you on here the way that I do. Not to just promote that I’m good at #Rap or whatever I do but that I’m not #perfect. I never will be. But if I can inspire one of you to make whatever change you need to make to turn your life around for the better, this and everything that happens next will all have been worth it.
