Would Ruthie enjoy a clown reader who also works in the park? Maybe clown skater reader who skates around making balloon animals and telling jokes
I actully did a blurb with clown Reader at the park once, Ruthie would love that and also fall in love all over again seeing them preform their acts. His fingers aren't nimble enough for him to make balloon animals on his own and he'd be jealous of their talents if it was anyone else, but there's no way they could possibly be upset at someone with a bright smile like reader's. Just imagine this 7ft tall rabbit getting in line with little kids to get another balloon and hoard them all like some dragon that's obsessed with balloons. Ruthie makes sure there's smiles on everyone's face when reader tells their jokes, and tightens the wheels on their skates whenever reader's not wearing them or Ruthie feels like checking if they're secure.
God - I need more with this, its so cute. Farmer crow, the "villain" of the park, kidnapping reader which they think is all just part of the show and happily plays along. Reader comforting the Bash the fox when one of their balloons pops and it frightens the cowardly canine right out of his skin. Clown Reader and Serenity the baker coming up with a themed dessert based off them that makes Ruthie teary eyed whenever a park guest eats the little clown made of cream and berries. There is a puppet jester/mime gal and the two would be thick as thieves as well. There's a pair of twins known as the Dice Twins who'd lovingly tease the clown until Ruthie or another member of the team came to knock some sense into them.
With the Ruthieland reboot I was gonna have reader be a regular employee, but it has been mentioned the park was first a circus and bringing a clown in is on brand.... Decisions, decisions.

Yan Amusement Park Concept Blurb
[An Intro to a new concept featuring the park's owner and you in your youth]
"Do you actually like this place, Y/n?"
The question throws you off guard. It's the first thing your seatmate had said to you the entire ride. Twenty kids loaded onto a rickety bus and shipped off for a day of wonder and excitement. Nineteen of the class's most well behaved students, and the park owner's own child. The trip probably wouldn't have been funded if they weren't first on board, sat right next to the kid of their choosing.
It wasn't as though the child was a bad egg. Far from it actually, just a tad shy. The only problem with them was how much school they missed. Their name alludes your mind, despite them being your seatmate in class as well. Whenever they were in for the day, all the other kids piled around them to butter them up in hopes they'd get free tickets to the amusement park for it, but you gave them their space. They liked that about you.
"I mean, who wouldn't be excited about it? I've been once before on another field trip, but I was too small for most of the rides."
The kid smiles. Another first. They shift in their seat, name badge pinned to their chest. Wyatt. "I can show you some things, if you want. My dad and me practically live at this park because of all the things he wants me to learn before I'm older so I can take over."
"Sure- if you think it's okay."
"Trust me. I know we haven't talked much in class, but I've always wanted to become friends with you. I.... like you."
Wyatt inches their hand towards you. You take the hand of your new friend as the bus pulls into the parking lot. RuthieLand. A cut off from the orginal title of the park featuring the full name of the park's main mascot Ruthie Hare. The chipper animal smiles down at you with his buck teeth as you step off the bus. The eyes of your fellow student linger on the sign, all except for one pair. Wyatt gently squeezes your hand.
That day, you met your best friend. It would also the last time you'd ever see them, but far from the last time they'd see you.

Check-In at Ruthieland
Yandere Park Staff + G.N Reader
Summary: A gift from the park's mascot leads to an unexpected surprise
Warnings: None/Slight horror elements
Word Count: 3.4k
The mug shaped candy has merged with its wrapping by the time you pick it up.
Almost two weeks since your last annual visit to Ruthieland – the remaining tickets left tucked in their envelope and stored in a secure location. Your encounter with the park's main mascot repeats are the only thing you can retell vividly from that day, yet it all still feels like a dream. Ruthie hasn’t been seen in person since you were a kid for reasons even you were in the dark about. Why were they bringing him back now?
Beloved Showrunner Ruthie Hare makes a comeback in time for the reopening of hotel.
That seemed like reason enough. The article pops up in your news feed while browsing online, the hare's buck tooth grin catching you off guard enough for you to drop your phone on your face. Recovering from the sting, you skim over the letter and from what you read Ruthie had been seen in lesser populated areas of the park gifting the same candies he gave you to random families with park staff informing them to keep hold of them. The park's office social media page has almost just released news that every person giving a candy would be invited to the grand reopening of their main hotel.
So that’s why Ruthie gave you the candy. Since you hadn’t seen him since you were a kid, the costume probably just looked stranger than you remembered, or went through a design change. What about that note he gave you? “Somebunny likes you.” It could be that one of the park attendants has developed a thing for you giving your constant visits, but was too shy to approach in person and managed to pull a few strings for you. Anything was possible, but the conclusion allayed your concerns well enough for the idea of a vacation to sound appealing. If things continued to work in your favor then maybe the park's recluse owner would show their face again, and you'd get to see an old friend one more time.
-
The information for the contest comes within the following week. A week long stay at the refurbished hotel with all expenses paid, and general admission to the park for each day of your stay. A couple signatures and all is set for your departure. The date of the trip was only a few days away by the time everything was in order, your belongings packed the night before. The brochure included in your mail gave details of a shuttle leaving for the hotel from the usual pick up location at 7am; two full hours before opening. You arrive a quarter before, and are surprised to see only one other person waiting. The others possibly drove, or were running closer to the assigned schedule. Someone off to your side whisper shouts to their companion.”
“I told you they'd be here.- Y/n, hey, over here!”
Drawing your attention to their ambush, you barely have time to react as your assailant rushes you and smothers you in the fuzzy sleeves of their oversized coat. As she lets you go and picks up her suitcase thrown aside in her sprint, you find the woman to be none other than the park attendant responsible for the theft of your ticket stubs, Ell. Two others catch up with her. Atlas, the head of security, and someone you aren't sure you're familiar with. A medical mask obscures the lower half of their face and a baseball cap makes up for the rest. The former two were frequent faces you'd see around the park, and people you considered friends for the most part.
“Ell? Atlas? What are you doing here?”
Atlas shoots a side eye at Ell. “Someone managed to get their hands on some of the prize candies when it was mentioned in a meeting that staff members weren't eligible to win.”
“They never said anything about coming in on a day off. If they had a real problem with it, we wouldn't even be here. Everyone knows the park's royalty was bound to win, and I believe I speak for all of us when I say getting to spend some time with them on vacation is too good to pass up.”
Atlas chokes on his tongue; lips wired shut as his brain attempts to come up with a cognate reply. He looks around for a way out, eyes landing on your bag and the transport pulling up to dock.
“Heh- would you look at that? The bus is here. Those look heavy, Y/n. I'll carry those up for you. ‘Cuse me”
Atlas squeezes past the two and snatches up your bags as he heads towards the bus. Ell throws an arm over the other member of their party.
“Anyway- despite popular belief it wasn’t me who took the candies. Found this thief with a couple in their bag and they offered me one to keep quiet. Then Atlas found us out and we had to bribe him for the same prize.”
The stranger tugs on the strings of their hoodie. “I'm not a thief…. Like you said earlier, Y/n was likely to win, and I wanted to see them more than just once a month.”
Their voice is muffled by the face guard, but you recognize that tone. “Cass?”
They make eye contact with you for the first time that morning - before immediately looking away. “hi, Y/n.”
Ell stares at them puzzled. “You have an actual name? Why have we been calling you-"
“Let's go, guys! It's ten past seven.”
Atlas slaps on the side of the bus to get his point across. Ell and Cass toss their bags in the undercarriage and follow you on the bus. The exterior is different from the typical pink decal and mascot characters acting out different scenes depending on the vehicle. Instead, the paint job had been switched to solid white with a streak of red around the middle like a bow and the silhouette of Ruthie's head acting as the ribbon. You stare at it for a while, the trance broken by Cass bumping into you.
“sorry…”
“It's alright. Go on ahead.”
Cass hesitates, but moves on ahead to avoid conflict. They stand at the back of the bus, waiting to see where you sit. Being the last one on board, Ell shoves you into the closest available seat right behind Atlas and sits beside you. Cass takes the bench from across you.
Atlas is the first to strike up conversation- despite Ell being right over your shoulder. “Hey, Y/n. I've been meaning to ask you, how exactly did you win lifetime tickets to Ruthie's?”
“That’s right- your family moved you away after they heard about the field trip. It was a contest in elementary where we had to write a letter explaining what we'd do if we won tickets to the park. That’s how I met Cass actually. They deliver the tickets. I still don't know how I won.”
Ell butts in. “Maybe it's because you’re besties with the owner. What’s their name again? Wayne?”
“Wyatt. We didn’t really know each other well because their dad kept them at home, but the few times we hung out was nice. They stopped showing up to class shortly after the trip, but the other kids would joke that they had a crush on me.”
“Imagine that.” Atlas leans against the bus window, watching the buildings go by; fingers snaking up to the skin beneath his eye. “I still loved that place, even after what happened.”
Before you can say more, the bus hits a speed bump which sends you flying backwards into the seat. Recovering from the whiplash, you glance out the window to see where you are. The bus pulls into the parking lot of where you'll be staying. It’s astonishing how you've never seen or heard much about its rebuilding before now. An excuse for the first part could be the large circus tent blocking the park's back wall.
The hotel itself was like a crossbreed between a lodge cabin and the fairgrounds. The main building sat in the middle of two towers; roof slanted like the pitch of a carnival tent and walls made of stone and wood. The pillars in its foundation were painted red for a little more color and the park's name along with its main mascot sat on a sign near the entrance; a plethora of lights surrounding the entire building shut off due to the time of day.
“Ruthie's Paradise Lodge…” You read aloud; the hare nestled in the title's ‘P' and drifting off to sleep. You gather your carry-on bag and join the others as they exit the bus. Atlas insists on taking the remaining lounge for you and wheels your bags along with his one duffle bag up to the front doors. A rustle in the bushes along the path catches your attention as you follow behind, but no one else seems to notice. You peak into the thickets – two, long pink ears greeting you among beady black eyes.
You scream.
Heads spin at the sound. Atlas retains a look of defense while Ell barks out a laugh and Cass removes their hand from the pocket at the sight they all behold. For the second time that day, fuzz laced arms trap you to the chest of a foreign body; this one covered head to toe in plush and oversized hands doing a better job at keeping you in place. Within enough struggle the mascot lets you go, covering his face with his hands out of embarrassment. The last member of your group and the first person on the bus walks up behind Ruthie and pats the hare's back.
“Sorry for the fright. Ruthie here is just excited to meet friends.”
Atlas pulls you away from the pair and creates a protective shield using his own body. “And you are?”
The man laughs. “Me? I’m the receptionist at this fine establishment and the staff member assigned to welcoming you all to the hotel. You can just call me Flo. I probably should've introduced myself earlier, but it seemed like you all were having a great time with each other which is what we love to see most at our parks. Shall we head in?”
Flo enters the hotel without waiting for an answer, leaving all you with no choice but to follow. Ruthie tails behind you step for step; eyes drilling holes in the back of your head. You can see his reflection in the glass doors right before you step inside. This Ruthie is nowhere near as stretched out as the one you met before, but his stare carries that same uncomfortable weight as the first. He gently pushes past you and marches in front of the other's to stand beside Flo.
The lobby isn’t anything remarkable. A fireplace in the waiting area accompanied by couches and chairs; framed snippets of the hare's crew on the walls. Twin staircases lead to a second floor and . It’s so open spaced you can’t help but wonder-
“Are we the only ones here?”
“Course not! We have the rest of staff and if you're referring to the other contestants I’m sure they'll be here on a later shuttle. If that clears up your questions then-"
The echo of Flo's clap makes you flinch.
“Let's get this show on the road. As I’m sure you're already aware of, you lovely folks are the first to witness the grand reopening of our gorgeous hotel after its tragic closing back in 95’. The rooms have been renovated to fit with modern times and there are various activities around the building to keep you all entertained when you aren't enjoying a fun day at our fair park. The only thing we ask is that you avoid staff only areas, even if a few of you are employed elsewhere on the plot.
Ruthie holds up a flashcard with a rabbit silhouette marked with a red X; tapping the board while slowly shaking his head. Flo walks behind the counter and produces four separate room keys.
“I will now give you all your assigned room keys and instructions on how to reach them. Your luggage will be brought to your rooms by staff later on.”
Flo hands out the keys in order of how you entered from Cass to Ell to Atlas to You. 81. 82. 83. 111. Ruthie holds out his hand for a key and crosses his arms over his chest when he doesn't receive what he’s after. It would've been a little funny had Ell not addressed the elephant in the room.
“Why's Y/n's room so far away from ours?”
Flo half shrugs, almost annoyed by the question. “I’m not sure. Possibly a mix up somewhere with booking and reservations and whatnot. To get to your room you three just have to walk up to the third floor. Your room is in the south tower on the fifth floor. Bit of a strange numbering system, I know, but we’ve kept the layout of the hotel as close to original design as possible. We hope you enjoy your stay.”
Taking that as ignitive to leave, you walk over to the elevator with the others. You’d ask about Wyatt another time. Ruthie sends you all off with a double handed wave. It drops to one when it’s your turn to receive a fair well. Ruthie brings a finger up to his eye socket and drags it down to his cheek.
“Well…” Atlas starts. “We're still in the same location, and we'll most likely be seeing a lot of each other regardless of the situation.”
“Do you mind us paying you a visit?” Cass questions. “You’re the only reason I'm actually here…”
Ell chimes in. “Yeah, kinda lame deal if I can't try to bust down your door at any given moment.”
“I don't mind. Just give me a bit to get settled in first. I'll see you later.” You push the button on the elevator wall and wait for it to open. As you enter Atlas steps forward.
“Maybe I should head up with you, just to be safe…”
Ell tugs the taller figure into a headlock and pulls him back. “Not so fast, Romeo. We spend time with them together or not at all. I won't give you the chance to shoot your shot with them so soon.”
Atlas flushes, barking out. “It's not like that!”
“Don't lie to me. I've seen your wallpaper before. I've snuck a few pictures in my time, and I have no doubts that our other friend over there has as well.”
Cass is already halfway up the stairs before Ell gets her point across, frantically scrolling through their phone. Both Atlas and Ell chase after them.
“See you later, guys.” You press the button to your floor, a last minute rider keeping the doors from closing.
Ruthie steps inside the elevator and into the opposite corner where another button panel was placed. He closes the doors, before pressing every single button prior to your floor while making direct eye contact with you.
The elevator goes up. The doors open and shut for the second floor. The fluff of the costume's chest rises with a breath. Another floor. His fingers twitch and his left leg shifts towards you. He starts to hum, tapping his foot against the metal floor. Two floors left and that soft drill draws out into a whistle. The cold wall envelopes you as you shrink in their corner. Ruthie teeters in your direction and then.. gets off on the fifth floor.
The hare ducks beneath the elevator and crawls out into the hall, thunderous footsteps sounding throughout his entire descent. Reaching the end of the walkway, Ruthie turns and tilts his head as the doors slowly close.
You shuffle out the elevator as soon as the doors open again, gunning for the room at the end of the hall with your assigned number. You jam your key into the lock and tumble inside the room. A balloon floats by your head as you lean against the door. You follow the floating orb trajectory to the bedside where a large gift basket sat on the pillows. Curious, you the item, pushing another stray balloon out of your way.
The basket is full of various treats from around the park as well as non-food items such as tee shirts and plush figures. The two in question are Ruthie and the newer addition to the crew, Bash the wolf. The hare carries his signature bottle of root beer and the canine holds a small mallet. Despite his weapon of choice and his scowl, Bash was a kind and timid creature afraid of his own shadow. The lesson his debut was founded on was about not being scared of those who don't seem approachable on first glance. The cellophane wrapping around the case was too thick to tear through, but a notecard hides between the plastic and the bottom of the basket.
“Welcome Home.”
A heavy fist rattles the door in its frame.
“Y/n? Are you in there? Atlas got us lost and we've been looking for you for like- twenty minutes.”
It's Ell. Probably with the others. You head over and unlock the door. Sure enough, the three park members wait behind it with smaller bags on their person, and Cass carrying a few plastic bags from a general store.
“You came over faster than I expected…” You gloss over their added luggage – and the pillow in Ell's arms.” Wait, are you planning to stay the night?”
“Okay if you’re okay with it.” Atlas quips. “We just thought it'd be a good way to break in the night, and it’s a long way away back so we brought over things just in case.”
“You got more than enough space to house us all.” Ell bounces over to the couch adjacent to the bed and the window, ending her exploration at the foot of your bed. “Your room is way bigger than ours and you have a nice view. You even got a whole basket of goods. Oh shit, are those funnel cakes bites?”
Ell pokes and prods at the bag to no avail.
“Yeah, I couldn't get it open either. Anyone have any utensils?”
“You can use my knife..” Cass unsheathes a pocket knife from their jeans and hands it to you. There's a crow engraved on its side. You pass it off to Ell who then cuts open the plastic and at least asks before she digs in to her desired treats.
The rest of the night goes about the same as one would expect. You each take up a random corner in the room and discuss whatever topic comes to plate. Cass comes clean with more about themselves and lets it slip that aside from delivering your mail, they piloted various costumes around the park. Apparently they wanted to be a voice actor when they were little and the roles helped with that dream. They played Momo the clown, the last remaining character from the park's time as a circus and Ruthie’s closest friend. The young sibling of the Bandit Twins. And Farmer Crow.
“You're Crow?!”
Cass is quick to defend themselves. “O-only on weekends…”
The festivities end with you watching the fireworks show from the park at the window, and the others drawing straws to see where they’d sleep for the night. Ell gets the couch, Atlas the floor, and Cass at the end of the bed. As you try to fall asleep, your mind wanders towards what Ell said earlier. You did have a great view of the park from where you were. You had visuals on the entire park starting from the tent that blocks everything else out of sight. The park closed hours ago, but the lights inside it are still on.
“Don't you think it's weird?”
Half asleep you pick up on a hushed conversation at the end of your bed.
“What?”
“You stole the candies so you could be alone with them, but there were way more than you had in your bag, and they had to have a backup plan if something serious happened. Isn’t it a little strange we're the only ones here?”
“A little, now that you mentioned it. The receptionist said more people were coming.”
“I guess… Night, Cass.”
You pull the blankets up to your chin and close your eyes, cradling the stuffed animals as you drift off to sleep.

RuthieLand
Yandere Amusement Park Staff [F,M,G.N/NB] + G.N Reader
Summary: A proper intro into Ruthieland. A park full of fun and colorful characters. A few with their eyes on a certain someone.
Word Count: 2.8k
The letter in your small hands is drenched in sweat, and the sticky combination of spilled soda and melted ice cream. You were the last to get up from the picnic table, placing you right at the back of the line of antsy children waiting to pass off their papers to the teacher waiting at its front. The excitement felt throughout the day dissipates the closer you get; your eyes locked on the untied pair of shoes beside you to avoid seeing just how many students you'd be competing with. The owner of the mitch match sneakers grips the sleeve of your coat, working their bandaged fingers into its opening to hold your hand with a comforting squeeze.
“Don't worry, Y/n. I’m sure you'll win.”
“I don't know…. The whole class is trying.”
“I can always ask my dad to pick you.”
Your anxiousness dies with a giggle of disbelief; your elbow gently nudging the other child's shoulder. “No way! That’s cheating. Besides, the main reason I want to win is to spend more time with you, but you said you don't even like it here that much.”
Their hold grows tighter.
“I'll go anywhere, as long as you’re with me.”
-
Knock- Knock-
A pause.
Knock-
“Just a minute!”
You pause the brainrot currently playing on the TV, and dust off your clothes as you walk over to the front door. The alarm you set for the occasion goes off the second you rise to your feet. Huh. Tv- Bit later than usual today. On most days, your visitor arrived five minutes before it went off, even when you adjusted the schedule to the new time. Opening the front door, a shower of confetti meets you with the same familiarity as an old friend; the colorful onslaught sending you a wave of shock no matter how many times you're blasted with it. A sharp gasp comes from behind the barrel of the popper.
“O-oh, crap- Sorry about that, Y/n. Didn’t think you'd be so close this time.”
Dressed in a stereotypical mailman outfit with a new miner changes, the figure shoves the remains in their bag and straightens their back; fixing the rim of their bunny-eared hat over their face. The shadow of a sheepish smile appears under the lid. They extend their hand, holding out a bright pink envelope.
“Got your tickets for you, same as always.”
You take the paper, bittersweet nostalgia lingering on the tip of your tongue like your favorite food you haven't tasted in ages. Ruthieland. The talk of both children and thrill seekers across the county and beyond. It would’ve been anyone's dream to even have the chance of winning lifelong tickets to an amusement park. Imagine your unfortunate luck to be the one child to win that once in a lifetime prize.
“Thank you, Cass.”
The carrier pulls their hat down further. “It's no problem. I actually have something else for you.”
They retrieve another item from their satchel. A single red rose. You take it with addled glee. Normally you didn't get any extra gifts unless it was at the park, or for your birthday or a holiday.
“This is.. different.”
Cass rubs at the back of their neck. “It's from me. I thought it'd be nice to give you something myself after all the time we’ve spent together.”
You can’t help but smile, partly from the guilt racking at your nerves. Cass has been delivering your tickets personally for the better half of two years. They were a reserved individual, only opening up to you about three months ago. In the beginning, they just left your tickets at your door and ran off. You weren't even sure if Cass was their name. It was pinned on a jacket they wore in the winter, and they never argued when you called them by that name.
“That's sweet of you.” You press your fingers over the seam of the envelope. “Would you like a ticket? I can treat you to a float if you show up one day.”
Cass raises their hands. A dark substance is caked beneath the nails of the hand placed to their neck. “N-no thank you. I’m not good with amusement parks… Too loud and not a big fan of roller coasters. I gotta go. Can't be late. See you next month, Y/n.”
Cass flees the scene, running straight down the block instead of climbing into whatever vehicle they came in. You’ve never actually seen them drive. Hopefully they had some sort of transportation. With your company gone, you open the envelope. Four tickets wait for you in the pouch, decorated with four of the park's most beloved mascots. Ruthie Hare, Farmer Crow, Serenity the Baker, and a newer addition to the crew – Bashy Fox. Four tickets for four days of the month. You figured it was the right amount of days. Anymore and you'd probably get sick of going honestly. Since you had nothing better to do, the timing for their arrival was perfect.
-
Throwing on some casual clothing, you hop on the nearest shuttle to the park. There was a number you could call for a lift, but taking the stroll felt like a nice start to the day. You lived roughly twenty minutes from the location and the stop was only a five minute walk. Excitement peaks for fellow riders of all ages as the park's largest coaster rolls into view, screaming from its passengers clear as day through the thick glass as the carts loop through the biggest hurdle. That one most likely wasn’t in the cards for you together. Especially after you saw someone losing the horde cotton candy they'd eaten before the ride during your last visit.
Stepping off the bus puts you front and center to Ruthieland's main entrance. The park's main mascot smiles down at you and all the other guests, hand raised in a partial wave.
Ruthie Hare was a silly character, as one would expect from a character originally solely targeted towards children. A root beer loving, flute playing hare with a whole gang of friends waiting inside. The anthropomorphic creature was soft pink in color, a black diamond around his left eye and a spotted bow tie from his early days as a circus mascot. He wore brown overalls with one sleeve always pushed down and large, oversized gloves. He had a bite mark on his right ear the comics and shows based off his gang never explained.
Reading your ticket, you march up to the counter to hand it to the attendee on staff. The woman stares at the sky as she aids another customer, cinnamon sugar powered around the corners of her lips. The hat she wore was dawned with rabbit ears just like Cass', but hers was a baseball hat and the ears had been snipped to keep them out of her face.
“Thank you for visiting our fantastic park today. We hope you have a hop-tastic day, and to see you soon… Or not.”
You walk up to the counter.
“Welcome to-Fuck" The woman wipes at her mouth and fixes her cap, adjusting her collar as she leans against the back of her seat.
“Y/n. Sup. Finally gonna let me treat you to the good shit today?”
Her relaxed attitude is a complete one eighty from how she first acted towards you, and the rest of the park goers. Ell, or Dashiell as her tag read, has been manning the ticket booth since high school; when she isn’t cleaning up messes she’s partly responsible for around the park. She was apparently homeschooled which is why you never saw much of her, and hardly showed emotion except for when you were around or in the company of her favorite snacks.
Like everyone else, she thought little of you in the beginning, but when she became aware of your status she figured it wouldn't hurt to get to know you a little. Majority of her coworkers had picked up on the crush she developed over the years, while you still remained obvious.
“If I’m still here when you get off, then sure.” You pass her your ticket. Ell wipes it through the reader and shoves it directly into her pocket rather than the bin by her post.
“Gonna hold you to it. If I catch word you bailed on me, I'll find out where you live.”
Ell plays off the threat with a pat on your shoulder. “Alright, you better get going. Don't need the head of the lap dogs biting my ass again for holding up the line.”
You heed the warning and take your chance to go on ahead. The last time Ell was able to brew up a conversion, it took nearly a half hour to find your way out. Luckily it was a slow day. Finally entering the park, your senses are overloaded by the smell of buttered popcorn and sugar, and the amplified screams and laughter of everyone else at the park. Today felt like one of those easy days. Just a couple of the more relaxed rides and maybe a look at the other types of attractions till the firework show later in the evening. Maybe it was finally time to go back to the carnival area.
“Well. Well. Well. Look what we have here.”
The thick southern drawn slithers up your back like the snake the shadow behind you was. You watch from the silhouettes on the ground as its arm reaches over your shoulder, the handle of a shovel keeping you from going anywhere anytime soon.
“Well I'll be- I knew I could recognize that pretty head of hair from any angle. And here I was thinkin' these weary eyes of mine were foolin’ me.”
“Hello, Farmer.”
The farmer chuckles, voice fluid as molasses and course as gravel. They step in front of you, twirling the rubber tool before planting it in the cracked concrete for support as they lean on it. They lift their head high so they’re able to see you past the rim of their sun hat and the tip of their beak.
“Howdy, there. Ol' friend.”
Farmer Crow was the periodic villain of the park. A foul tempered soul, who hunted after the main characters for stealing their supplies. A lot of people sympathize with the crook for this reason, though their original methods for getting rid of the crew were – quite harsh.
The farmer was mostly humanoid and leaned slightly more towards scarecrow than anything with burlap skin and straw coming from the sleeves of their flannel shirt. The upper half of their face was fashioned after a regular crow with a long beak and black feathers. The shovel they carried was once a scythe, but after an accident that resulted in a young boy losing his eye, a petition was created to have it changed.
“I missed ya dearly. Couldn’t catch a wink of sleep without seeing that face of yours. Here. On the house. As a welcome back present” They palm the breast pocket of their shirt and extend their hand, a small pin resting in their gloved palm.
It depicts the character Serenity offering the grumpy farmer a bouquet of roses. She had always been a neutral figure in the group, baking pies and other goods for them all to enjoy. You met the character at the themed restaurant in the park, and she was as sweet as her desserts. She even snuck you an extra treat on those days when you weren't feeling like yourself.
“A special gift fer a special friend. Long as you stay away from that darned rabbit, and all the other troublemakers we can be pals.” Farmer Crow readjusts their grip on their tool. Their tone is quiet, almost hesitant as they continue. “We are pals, ain’t we?”
“Course. Thank you, Crow.”
You take the pin from them. As you do, a group of kids runs up to them for an autograph. One of the older teens bumps right into you and just keeps running ahead. Strange. Farmer Crow grumbles something under their breath, but faces the crowd; body still angled towards you. You wave.
“I'll catch up with you later, Crow. Try not to murder anyone.”
“I'll try…”
Continuing ahead, you barely make it ten steps before another person is running up to you.
“Hey, Y/n! Wait up!”
The male catches his breath as you stop, standing to full attention now that your focus is solely towards him. He turns slightly so you can get a good look into his good eye; his right lidded and iris milky.
“You- Whew. Dropped this.” He holds out your phone to you. You slap your hand against the pocket it was held in, unaware of its absence until then.
“Crap. When did that happen? Thank you so much, Atlas.” You return your phone where it belonged. What would you do without this man? A newer hire, but one of the most helpful park employees you had met to date. He helped you out on those scarily frequent occasions you lost your phone or your keys, sometimes driving you home when the shuttle didn’t show. It was honestly no surprise really that he became head of security in such a short time.
Atlas waves off the praise. “It's nothing, Y/n. Just helping out a friend is all. Everything else okay? Need a chaperone around the park? Someone to take you home later?”
“Nah, I'll be fine. I think I’ve been coming to the park long enough to know my way around.”
Atlas looks a little down, but quickly picks himself back up. “I understand. If you need anything, you got my number and I'll be in the back checking the cameras for your every move.”
Realizing his error, the guard backtracks. “N-not that I’m watching you specifically! I meant it like I'll be watching out for everyone, but you especially. Cause I care about you and all.”
Atlas fakes a laugh. “I probably said too much, huh? I'll get out of your way for now. Talk to you another time.”
The guard politely excuses himself; retracing his steps just to make sure you have his contact information including an email and back up phone. He leaves you to your business and with no further interruptions you go about your day. Getting on your rides of choice, exploring the on-plot museum and trying out some of the seasonal treats. You even meet back up with Ell at one point to fulfill her previous requests. You wonder about blissfully unaware to all the eyes that follow you; a mix of human, faux, and from behind the lens of a camera.
As the day draws to an end, you finish your trip by sitting on the ledge of the fountain in the middle of the park and watching the fireworks. It was the central hub of the area, giving attendees easy access to all the different junctions. Small droplets of water sprinkle the back of your shirt as the fountain recycles its stream, but you don't mind. Vibrant flashes of color bead across the sky, blinding you momentarily from their brightness and the sheer wonder of it all. If there was one thing you could never get tired of – it was this. With the fireworks soon coming to an end, you stand up. Where did everyone go?
A sharp whistle pierces through the loud booms.
You look around.
There’s a short breath, before another whistle. The sound stops for a solid five seconds, and then another.
It continues longer this time. You’re able to trail it back to your left, towards the circus themed corner of the park. Your breath quickens.
Standing right beneath the sign was an all too familiar, buck toothed face. He waves his arm in your direction, drooping ears swaying with the motion. They looked longer than the poster's pictured them to be – every part of him did.
“Ruthie?”
The hare nods, beckoning you towards him with a finger. You haven’t seen him in ages. While his face was still plastered everywhere, the mascot himself had been retired from walking about for reasons even you didn't know. He points over to the large circus tent at the back of the park, forming a heart with his thin fingers.
“I can't come with you. The park is going to close soon.”
His arms fall to their sides. He stomps his foot before pointing again. Seeing you won't budge, he steps forward. He moves as though an unseen weight is dragging his body to the ground, dragging the left side of his body forward. Paralyzed by fear, you remain glued to your spot as he nears. The fur around his mouth glistens with a dark substance. As he stands over you, you shut your eyes, fearing the worst. It's only when you hear the mascot shuffling away that you open them.
In your lap is a napkin with two, mug shaped candies nestled in it. Ruthie's favorite. Beneath the sweets are three words.
Some-bunny likes you.

Ruthie and clown reader....
-
You stand beside the oversized hare doing your best not to sweat your makeup off in the heat. It's quite the surreal scene to be standing next to your childhood idol, let alone being in collaboration with his park and crew by proxy. Your face plastered around the park, and his on your show later that week. As you grew, you can to terms with the crushing reality that he wasn't real, but there was still a magic air to it all. You didn't have the chance to meet the person in the suit before hand, but they seemed nice enough. Ruthie hasn't taken an eye off you since you walked on stage.
Until now.
As a staff member passes out balloons to the crowd below, Ruthie lurches forward and plucks a heart shaped balloon from the group. His sudden reanimation startles the unsuspecting vender, a sea of vibrant shapes and hues floating into the air as they let go of the strings. Ruthie holds out the balloon to you, turning his head curiously. As you reach out to take it, he grabs your arm and ties the balloon around your wrist - cameras flashing as he wraps you in a hug.
"Aw, isn't that cute. Ruthie's got himself a friend!"
You like the sound of that. Rather than some corporate investment, this is nothing more than a silly clown and their equally as mischievous plush friend. You return the hug as best as you can get your arms around his large frame. From the way Ruth holds you to his chest, it seems like he sees this as more than a stunt too.

Can we hear more about bash? Specifically if bash was a yandere mascot or costume+makeup worker.
You do your best to console Bash as he clutches your shirt. "It's okay, Bash. It was just a dream."
The fox whimpers, rubbing his tears into your hair. "Oh, but it was a terrible Dream, Y/n. A nightmare! I remember someone screaming, and I must've beeing running through the farmer's tomato field because I was covered in red stains. Please don't leave me again. I'm sure my dreams will be better long as you're around."
You rub circles into the poor thing's back as he holds you tighter, thin endoskeleton pressing your sides. The design team really pulled out all the stops with him. As the next addition of the Ruthie gang following twenty years without a new face he was a gamble. A scaredy cat with an appearance and weapon to prove otherwise, but always there when his friends needed him.
The younger crowd was scared of him until a slight redesign, but teens and adults took to him well enough - you being on one them. He seemed to be quite fond of you as well as whenever he was in need of comfort he'd look to you first. The guy was afraid of his own shadow, but quick to step in if anyone gave you trouble. Safe to say Bash needed you.
"I can't stay forever, but I will always do what I can to help you out when I'm here..." Your hands freezes. "Lemme see if I can go find some wet wipes or something, your fur feels sticky right here."
Bash pulls away from you. "Oh... it's fine. You know how the kids are and they clean my fur every night."
"Are you sure?"
"I'm positive." He snaps, backpedaling with a whine. "I just need you to hold me."

Jealous Ruthie hcs? Can be over anything, maybe if y/n worked there and was too busy to be near him as much?
Ruthie is easily one of the jealous members of the park and honestly probably out of majority of my ocs, but he has priorities too. When he's not able to be right beside you he still tries to hover in the general area and make it known that he's watching you - most notably with the "I got my eyes on you" gesture if you ever glance his way
Tries to play getting closer to you as an act such as snatching your hat or pulling you in for a dance if you're in that corner of the park. During Halloween it's easier for him to pick you up and run off as most will think it's a stunt which he will do quite often. The park has a lot of secret passages and if you don't tell him off you will go missing for hours if he even let's you go
Brings gifts most times in hopes it'll make his presence tolerable, and he just enjoys giving you things. Balloons, candy, items from the shop you probably work in.

We need more Ruthie. Specifically the (I think? Sorry if I'm misremembering) robo alien rabbit one. What if y/n was a huge fan of the character? And therefore a fan of him/them/it? (Super sorry I forgot the specific pronouns but I believe one is either they or he??) -very forgetful anon
(It's never been stated what he is so we'll leave it as animatronic or whatever you see fit. Ruthie the mascot is he/him, but in the official series he was referred to as he/they/it. For ease we'll use he)
"Ruthie!"
The giant anthropomorphic hare reels as if surprised by your visit, placing a hand over his heart to seal the act. He waves the family vacating the area goodbye and meets you halfway in the middle of the park's entrance, dropping down on one kneel as he scoops his gloved mitts beneath your arms. He raises you high in their air before lowering you to his chest, your legs around his broad waist. His ears lightly smack your cheeks as he snuggles you in broad daylight.
You laugh grabbing his ears to stop their assault. "I missed you too, Ruth- but you gotta stop doing this in public or we'll get in trouble."
The mascot rubs his nose against yours before setting you down. He reaches around in his pocket and pulls out a handful of his favorite treat. Rootbeer flavored candy. You take them from him and put them into your own.
"Thanks, Ruth. I got something to show you." Ruthie tilts his head as you fish around in your bag. You pull out a miniature version of him in the form of a plushie, his signature red overalls swapped for a blue pair covered in daisies.
"He's the spring exclusive. I got him on my way in. Can you believe he was the last one?"
Ruthie crosses his arms, head bobbing as if to huff. He grabs the plush and wags his finger in front of its face, pointing at you before pointing at his chest.
You reach for the object, but Ruthie quickly raises it overhead. "Oh, come on Ruthie. We both know you specifically are my favorite. I'd take you home if I could."
Ruthie gives the plush a side eye as he drops it into your hands. You turn your little friend over to look at his face, smiling with content. People of course had their opinions about an adult being a mega fan of a mascot for a theme park, but none of that matter when the hare himself was your biggest fan as well. The park was aimed at audiences of all ages anyway.
"Well I should get going for now. You know what time it is."
His shoulders slump, but he claps his hands as you pull out your signature book. He makes quick work of his signature for the day and gives it back to you. It's a drawing of rabbit ears, accompanied by a few familiar words.
"For my cuddle bunny"
Ruth grabs his ears and shapes tgem into a heart as he bends to your height. You use one to pull him in as you give him a hug.
"See you soon, Ruth. Don't go crazy without me."
His grip tightens- Ruthie lets go before you notice and waves you goodbye as you leave, Ruth plush still in your arms. He continues to wave after your gone, eyes fixated on where you last stood and limbs obvious to the small children tugging on his sleeves.
Later that night, a report was filed for the tampering of a delivery truck dropping off stock of their new merchandise. All of the Ruthie plushies were torn to shreds.

Can we have more info on ruthielands park owner?
They are so mysterious even tho we low key know who it is haha
Wyatt Ruth, great great grandchild of Cooper Ruth was a distant, shy kid with few friends due to their father pulling them out of class for days at a time to learn the bells and whistles of the park. They were often overwhelmed at school due to kids trying to become their friend solely because of their heritage. Their seatmate gave them needed space and became a source of comfort for the poor child though they never spoke out.
That feeling of safety turned into a full on crush after said seatmate helped them during a panic attack at a local zoo brought on by a scary looking fox. It was probably as afraid of them as they were of them, their newfound love suggested. They couldn't stop thinking about them after that. Their father always looked to them for fresh ideas for the park and this person was their main inspiration. The two only met a few more times after that, but during the final time they met while on a field trip to Ruthieland, they knew they were the one.
I can't talk about adult Wyatt without spoilers, but I'm open to au things

Omg I legit just binged through all of your Ruthieland posts and I have officially fallen head over heels in love with Cass... do you perhaps have any spare headcanons or facts about their character that you'd be willing to share? 👉👈
Cass had dreams of becoming a voice actor from an early age. They were a shy kid and mostly practiced their talents playing with their younger siblings as the voices of the toys they'd own. Cass also had little will or say of their own being raised by strict parents and at eighteen they were disowned by their parents for finally decided to choose their own path. They'd already had a part time job at Ruthieland which switched to full now that they were on their own. Management gifted them a hotel room to stay in, but they are more comfortable sleeping in their car outside the house of the only person they're capable of talking to as themself.
Cass began their days of employment as a janitor and a delivery driver to their excessive newsletter on odd days which is how they first met Reader. Their skills were noted overtime by staff when seen talking to guests in the voices of relating characters around the park. One day they were called in and asked to give their best impression of Farmer Crow from image alone. The farmer hadn't been seen in around ten years at that point and time to bring him back. They were promoted that same day. Cass is extremely dedicated to the various rolls they play around the park, but Farmer Crow is the one they're most common to act and most proud of.
Cass feels more... in control as Farmer Crow. As the "Villian" of the cast, Farmer Crow is known to take nothing from anyone and cruel son of a bitch which is what they wish they could've been in the past to a certain extent. They're easily able to veil threats of beheading guests who get too close to reader as just another aspect of his character which is it. They don't know what comes over them when they say things like that, but it just feels - natural. They flirt casually and gift them pins from the park which is something they'd never be able to do as Cass. Most days they can't say one word to Reader without stumbling over the rest, but as Farmer Crow they take the lead in any conversation they have. It also helps Reader doesn't know it's them which allows them to be open about their feelings as vaguely as they can. Cass has had a crush on Reader trailing all the way back to their days as just the person who delivered their mail. They hope to someday be able to fully confess as themself, but is comfortable were things are currently... for now

Can you tell us the Ruthie cast then?
The two that have been mentioned most are Ruthie and Farmer Crow.
Ruthie the hare is the obvious mascot of the park and a mischievous prankster with a love for you rootbeer. He and his crew had a history with the circus before being rebranded to a more outdoorsy scene
Farmer Crow is a scarecrow-crow hybrid that is the "villain" of the group. Most interactions between them and Ruthie are just him trying to keep the hare off his land. He was originally designed with a scythe but after an accident result in a kid's eye being lost it was changed to a shovel. They are seen as a person in costume and makeup rather than a mascot suit
Characters that exist but haven't been mentioned much are
Serenity the baker. A kind woman who helps both Crow and Ruth, but is known to have a temper and the only human. The Dice Bandit Twins, two more reoccurring villains with a snake theme. Momo the clown, Ruthie's best friend and the last remaining member of the circus days. They're a puppet that gives gifts to parkgoers and can only be seen in set locations as they're moved by strings in the roofs and walls.
And then there's Bash/Bashy. A scary looking fox that carries around mallet, but is actually extremely timid and a scared cat. This is the newest member of the park and was created by the park owner in memory of their first and only love.

Ruthieland Character Concepts
Just spit balling a few characters I made at 2am for my Yandere Amusement Park series
Wyatt Ruth [they/them] - Owner of the park. Went to the same school as you, but hardly showed up. Had a huge small crush on you. Designed a character after the fox who startled them on a school field trip that you comforted them from.
Atlas Becket [he/him. 26] - Head of Security. Golden Retriver energy. Lost vision in his right eye from an accident at the park. Pays random people to steal your things so he can play hero. Hates root beer (something the park is well known for)
Dashiell Lewis [she/her. 25] - Receptionist/Janitor. The only job she could get that doesn't run background checks. Will push her coworkers out of the way to take your ticket and welcomes you with a smile. (Rare for her) Keeps the stubs in her pocket. Huge sweet tooth and will throw hands for a churro. Makes sure you have one before you leave the park
"Farmer Crow" [23] - Performer and Costume pilot. Extremely shy outside of the costume they wear, bit of a freak inside it. The character they play is the villian of the park. Sleeps in their car in the parking lot which looks strangely similar to one youve seen parked down the street fron your house. Gives you free pins and autographs with a phone number at the bottom.
Ruthie Hare [he/it] - Mascot of the park. Has been dying to meet you (so have his pals I haven't designed yet). Costume? Animatronic? Who knows- Don't try to take off his head.

Okay okay okay last Ruthie ask sorry I simply cannot stop thinking about them, would Ruthie and Cholly get along if they were in the same universe or would they have an anthropomorphic bunny rivalry
Cholly can't even stand versions of themselves, it would be on sight - but Ruthie is extremely/easily jealous too so they would butt heads constantly. Ruthie is around 7 feet tall and I don't have a set height for Cholly, but they're definitely shorter so all Ruth has to do is pick Reader up and run away with their prize. Don't ask my why a giant mascot rabbit is so fast, but they are.

Hi hello Sir! A question about Ruthie, can they leave the park or are they like bound to it? If they’re able to leave, I can definitely see something happening like
Reader: I miss you so much when I go home, I wish you could just come with me! We could have a sleepover 🥰 too bad you aren’t allowed to leave 😔
Ruthie, climbing through readers window that night in pajamas: 👀😚🍆💦 ❤️🐰❤️
Ruthie can leave, but their absence would eventually be noticed so they couldn't be out for too long.... Anon, what's the eggplant emoji for...? What's it for, anon.

When are you going to make Ruthieland Chapter 3?
I really enjoyed that series and I don't mind waiting for the third chapter to come out.
I was worried people wouldn't want a chapter three since it's been so long. If there's enough want I'll gladly do more because Ruth has such a special place in my heart
