OOC: depending on the church, you can sometimes walk around. If they're not doing a service. You can sometimes call and ask if they have like "open" hours so to speak. You can just lie and say you want a space for prayer/thought and someone might be able to open the doors for you if they're not already unlocked

Ive visited bigger churches before, but the basilicas and cathedrals feel easier to walk around in as someone who's not religious because its more of a tourist destination for the architecture. The local catholic church is very pretty from the outside but its smaller and way easier to be noticed by someone who works there, and of course my anxiety has me convinced that they'll know im not catholic and run me off 😅

I might try the episcopal church first, they seem more chill than the catholics 🤔
