Ru(i)ned for Protection AU

When Character A’s grandmother falls ill, they decide to take their place as a seamstress for a small clothing company to help pay the bills. When they arrive at the shop, they get right to laying seams, fastening buttons, and sewing in the small tags to the linings. It was simple work that Character A could do in their sleep, but it paid enough money to make it worthwhile.

The problems only began when customers complained that the new clothing didn’t feel the same -- it was almost like they felt out of place and just “wrong.” Character A studied every single facet of their work and found nothing at fault; stumped, they went to their grandmother and asked for help.

It was then that Character A was taught their first rune mark they had to add to the clothing’s tags for protection. It wasn’t the only rune they were taught, though.

Just some Kenta/Eiya angst, Eiya being a stuck up bitch and Kenta suffers in the shadows. Note that some parts of design will get shifted a lot as some stuff isn’t set in stone yet so don’t get nervous lol

@gloomforrestrunes more of the Swap/Villain au!! Brutus takes the place of Nex. (Avoiding as much spoilers as I can-) Their relationship doesn’t start out EXACTLY like Nex and Laxo’s- more of a reluctant guard and a scared item they need to protect. Down the line it DOES get similar to Nex and Laxo’s relationship, where Eiya soon becomes attached to Kenta to an obsessive level, and treats her more like an object than a person. Eiya uses chains and feather spells in this au and uses them to trap Kenta whenever. The muzzle was Nex’s idea. (Kenya’s being in the Dark Realm is kept a secret from most btw)
