There was a short respite from the wind and the snow thanks to the sheltering effect of this peak. #RunE1Trail met Norwegian snow today as the route climbed to 1000m and crossed into the next valley between two big peaks.

Remote, unforgiving and beautiful. #RunE1Trail has started with some of the toughest terrain and beautifully unforgiving landscapes I have seen. It's hard not to love it all, even though it has no intention of ovine you back. Bathe yourself in the silence and enjoy the joyous melancholy of a landscape you must leave upon discovery.

From morning till just before this point, the landscape was monotonous boggy hills. Then it all started to change. The E1 dropped down into this river valley. The sense of discovery was amazing and one of two treats from the day. #RunE1Trail
