so runaway au is a concept of a concept of an idea i had, it centers around hornet leaving deepnest (for reasons i’m still working out,) and also serves as a general modern au sometimes

tiso is a Character, and as always he’s very arrogant and places a lot of value on his physical abilities. he’s also prone to doing stupid reckless shit as a way of dealing with his problems (street racing for one)

the accident happens one night in a run-in with god tamer. she passes him on the road, he takes it personally, starts provoking her, and it escalates to them going neck and neck in a populated street. he has to swerve, loses control, and while all the kings horses and all the kings men are trying to put him together again, he’s forced to think about Everything.

Tisoquirrel?

so ik i just got done talking about how opposites attract with lemmquirrel, but i don’t really think that works very well here. (i also don’t interact with this ship a lot either tho)

i don’t ship this mainly because i see tiso as a much younger guy (i’m talking like, at least a 20 year age gap here) but also i just don’t really see it working out. they don’t have anything in common?? like??? tiso is after the thrill of combat, he doesn’t have any room to enjoy the beauties the kingdom has to offer. in fact he spits on it. you can see this clearly at the blue lake that quirrel admires so much. and quirrel? he’s not a fighter, he tries to avoid violence. i just don’t think they’d wanna waste their time with each other. i don’t see them getting along at all… another thing is— and again, i’ve barely interacted with this ship, this is just something i’ve observed in some fan arts and rants from my friends— but i sometimes see quirrel playing the part of a damsel in distress that tiso needs to protect. i just don’t really vibe with it…

2. i can’t ever see myself shipping this romantically. (really i find it hard to ship tiso in general just bc platonic and rival dynamics are much more interesting to me,) but if they had a different type of relationship, and they were maybe in a different setting, i think i could see them having some fun interactions!

(in my modern/runaway au, tiso is a high school athlete who puts way too much value on physicality and sports abilities, and quirrel— a teacher of an undecided subject— is trying to get him to put more effort into his classes so his grades don’t come to bite him in the ass. it eventually leads to him getting to know hornet)
